Went here for an early bird on a Sat night. Very good value, beautiful steaks only fault was that the fries were a little cold. They had good reductions on the wine and we got a beautiful bottle. Service was excellent and the place had a good crowd.

Ate here with a group of 12 people. Overall was happy with food and service, but I had to wait for ages for my first drink order to be taken and my steak was very over cooked, I didn't say anything as then I would have to wait, everyone else would be finished etc etc. Loads of side dishes came out, all very tasty, would go back, the early bird menu looked like good value (and I think its available on a Fri too)

Delle Stelle
Main Street, Greystones, Wicklow

I love this little place for a bite to eat. It is a casual place to grab some lunch and such good value- an americano is only 1.40! Their BLT is really good. Nice selection of Italian and Irish things. Friendly staff. You can read your paper over a coffee and not feel that your overstaying your welcome as there's plenty of room. I recommend for a cheap tasty eat.

This restaurant is surprisingly good, the outside is very deceptive as inside the decor is beautiful. Food is excellent, I have eaten here twice now. Once for lunch- steak was great value at 10 euro and again for Sunday lunch. Each time the food was excellent but service is slow. I did not mind this for the lunch (the place was not busy but I wasn't in a rush) but the Sunday was very busy and very very slow- more staff needed. We had to ask continually for everything, menus, drinks, deserts...... I would not return on a Sunday but I would another time.

The Beach House Restaurant (Bray)
The Seafront, Strand Road, Bray, Wicklow

Amazing food, one of the best dining experiences I have had in ages, this is a much needed quality restaurant in the Bray area. I had 3 courses and each one was amazing. The early bird is particularly good value. Service was friendly and professional. Atmosphere is lovely- there are little 'beach huts' at the back which are cosy but you can still see the flood lit beach from them. I will 100% be back soon.

The Garden Cafe @ Avoca Mount Usher Gardens
Mount Usher Gardens, Ashford (off N11), Ashford, Wicklow

As with all the Avoca restaurants the food is delicious here (that's why there are ridiculous ques). However 2 mains, 2 coffees & a chip including tip came to 50 euro!!!! I'm happy to pay this for an evening meal, but for Sunday lunch no way!! Never again. Other eateries do a good lunch for 10 euro- I'll stick to that or home cooking! Atmosphere was okay but the place is a little shabby in places.

Montys of Kathmandu
28 Eustace Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We didnt have a reservation, popped in at 7pm on a Fri, got a table for 2. The food here is delicious, tastiest meal I have had out in a while (food you cant cook at home!) The lamb was really tender & not too spicy. My husband doesn't like Indian food but he loved here. The starter was really good but a little dry & should have come with a chutney or some type of dip. Came to E50 for one starter, two mains & two drinks, not cheap but I will go back! Service was good too but yes as others here have said here the decor isn't great but the food makes up for it

The Burnaby Lounge Bar
Church Rd Greystones, Greystones, Wicklow

Was pleasantly surpised by the food here- it has much improved on a few years ago. It was very busy but the food came in good time and it was very tasty pub grub. Would definitely return when I'm in the mood for a burger or lasagna & chips type food.

L'Officina by Dunne And Crescenzi (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

This is way overpriced for what it is. I had the cannelloni which was described as having ham and a rocket salad- there was virtually no ham- a vegetarian could have eaten it and the rocket was a sprig on top, my husbands meal was lovely but needed a carb- it was all beans & meat. This leads me to conclude that this is an authentic Italian restaurant where you really must order numerous courses to have a satisfying meal. But to do so would mean spending well over 100 euro for two people- which for a restaurant where you cannot pre-book and you are literally on top of the next table is far far too much-it is a totally casual atmosphere (I don't mind being close to the next table but not for these prices). I MIGHT return for lunch but never for dinner.

Mao Restaurant (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

The food here is fabulous and the 3 courses for E20 is great value but unfortunately the service was appalling! We had the 3 courses and not once did a member of staff actually speak one word to us. Our order was taken (nothing said at all) food presented, no 'enjoy your meal', empty plates taken (again no 'how was your meal') and desert order taken (eventually) and STILL not one was said. I will never go back to this restaurant, truly the worst service I have ever had. Also very very slow, if you need a member of staff allow about 10 mins before you catch their attention.

Bates Restaurant
Main Street, Rathdrum, Rathdrum, Wicklow

Excellent restaurant. Food, service, ambience- all perfect. We arrived for the early bird which had a great variety of choice, €20 for 2 courses, €25 for 3. My friend had the pasta special- this was amazing, as nice as anything in Italy! Everyone in the group left happy- and lovely Baileys coffees to finish the meal, highly recommend this restaurant, I'll definately return.

Wagamama - Stephen's Green
St Stephen's Green Centre, South King St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I love this place, great for informal dining, I crave the food every time I think about it! If you sign up to their website they send you on really good offers, 2 for 1 etc. If you havent been go there.

The Coach House Pub & Restaurant
Roundwood, Roundwood, Wicklow

The food here has much improved since I last went, it really had gone down hill. We had bar food here, chips, chicken, paninis etc and all was really good and good value. I can't comment on their 'proper' dinners though. The atmosphere was seriously lacking though, it was a Saturday night and the place was dead, not even any background music playing. We actualy went home because it was so quiet.

The Fern House Cafe at Avoca Kilmacanogue
Avoca, Kilmacanogue, Wicklow

Everything here is wonderful except the service! I won a voucher for here for a lunch, we had starters, mains and wine- all was fabulous, but, service was awful. When we arrived we were seated fine- not very friendly but okay. Our orders were taken, the starters arrived but still no drinks, had to ask again. Then we sat over empty plates for AGES, my husband commented that we had been forgotten about at this point. I had to look for service to clear the plates. I then asked for another drink, this was forgotten about and I had to ask again (I'm not impatient by the way). It looked to me that no one person was over each table, just lots of staff going around but expecting others to see who needs service. I'm glad this lunch was free for me, I would be very cautious about returning.

The Counter Dundrum
Pembroke District, (adjacent to the Mill Pond at Town Square), Dundrum, Dublin

I had great expections for here-its a burger joint so the burgers should be amazing- unfortunately they are not. Yes, the variety of toppings, sauces, cheeses etc are very impressive, the burger itself was very good but THE BUN IS TERRIBLE! Seriously, a tiny, thin, crappy bun from a speciality burger joint is not on. We ordered fries between two of us- one each would be better when you are hungry-the other reviewers here must not eat much! Food took nearly 30mins to arrive. €34 for two burgers, one fries and two drinks. You can have an alcoholic drink here which is good though.

Three Qs
Church Road, Greystones, Wicklow

Have eaten here twice now, once for dinner and once for lunch, both times everything was perfect. The staff are very professional- (I think that the owners work there?). Food is fantastic, I had the fish & chips for lunch, everything is homemade- tartar, chips etc nothing pre-made. Try this place if you haven't, you will not be disappointed.

Shelby's Brasserie
73 Main Street, Bray, Wicklow

We went here on a week night for the early bird and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Everything was faultless, we were a large group and everyone was 100% happy with all-the service, food and price were all excellent. I had duck pancakes to start, which were fab & others had bruschetta or something like that and were delighted. Most had steaks-all cooked perfectly, served with mash and veg, both delicious and lovely chip-type potatoes. I don't usually bother with dessert but I tasted my friends and I will definitely have one when I return. This has to be the best restaurant in Bray- the early bird is great value. Don't be put off by the fact it's on the first floor-it has a really good atmosphere when your inside.

The Grainstore Restaurant
Meath Arms, Aughrim, Wicklow

We ate here last Sunday for their special €15 for three courses and kids eat free (chicken & chips). Service was VERY slow for each course, we were not in a hurry but it was way too slow for a Sunday lunch. Food was fine, I had the soup to start and the bacon and cabbage- very nice but two others had the beef- they had very small portions and not good quality. One person had the pasta and loved it. Choice of dessert was just between two things and ice cream- I'm a lemon tart fan and it wasn't great. Overall, it is good value but I would not bother going back here, the food was hit and miss and the service was friendly but SLOW!

TGI Friday (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

We ate here with our Tesco vouchers, I wasn't looking forward to it from reading the reviews! But everything was very good, I had the chicken wings to start-nice but far to expensive,(nearly €11 for a few), husband had shrimp with Jack Daniels sauce- lovely, and for mains we had burgers which were very tasty. Overall we were happy with everything, including service, but it is too expensive for what it is, if paying 'restaurant' prices I don't want fast food. It is also a little lacking in atmosphere.

Terrace Cafe
Powsercourt, Enniskerry, Powerscourt, Wicklow

Fabulous for a tasty lunch, specials change daily and are the usual high standard of Avoca. Desserts are huge and irresistible. It's priced okay but any more euros added on and it would be too expensive. My only complaint was that there were only two staff serving food which for a place this popular is ridiculous - getting served took a while. Nice relaxed atmosphere, will return.

Hard Rock Cafe
12 Fleet Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

We too ate here for free with tesco vouchers, the food was 'fine' (little bit cold and basicly not great overall), but definately WAY overpriced for what it is, would not recommend eating here unless its free! Service was very good though, we ate upstairs, downstairs seems to have a better atmosphere. The customers were all tourists who are obviously just going for the Hard Rock name, locals seem to know better. I won't be returning.

Dante (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

I went here recently on a Sat night. Don't expect fine dining, just a very functional restaurant. The pizza was very good, would have had a starter but most of them were bread based - which is a bit much with pizza. The place got very busy, you wouldn't bother to linger over a drink when your food is finished. Service overall was fine. If your starving you could do a lot worse.

The Happy Pear
Church Road, Greystones, Greystones, Wicklow

Ate here once and was disappointed as I know its v.popular. Its a service counter set-up. Soup was v.good but had to ask for the bread and was handed out a hot bowl while a staff member spoke on her mobile phone!!!(no plate or tray to carry it!). The tables have water jugs on them but they looked like they were just continually topped up and never actually washed as they were filthy. Maybe this was just a busy and bad day, I'll try it again but with other eateries opening up (not a million miles away!) they will want to keep things clean and in top order.

Homans

Very good quality food but not a great choice. Really just paninis and sandwiches/ a soup then scones and cakes. Would go back though. Tiny bit on the dear side for what it is.

The Old Candle
Main Street, Newcastle, Co Wicklow, Newcastle, Wicklow

Delighted to have found this place, we arrived at 7:30pm and the early bird is available until 8 which I think is nice and late, its very good value at €30 for three courses. There is a small choice but the quality of the food is excellent - the mash is AMAZING. Service was perfect and although it was a Tues night there were enough diners for a nice atmosphere. Enjoyed my wine. Will definitely be returning here in the near future.

Lee's of Kilcoole (Old Owners)
Main Street, Kilcoole, Wicklow

Have eaten here numerous times, and it has improved greatly over the past while. As pub-grub goes its very good and you get good portions. Any time I've been in there has been a good atmosphere and friendly staff, will be returning again for some casual dining followed by some drinks. Averagely priced.

Arc Cafe Bar
Liffey Vallley Shopping Centre, Fonthill Rd, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

We are there on a Thurs evening. Place was nicely quiet but the service was very slow. Had to call for menus, had to call to take the order and about 10mins after I had ordered I was told that that was off the menu, in all it took one hour to receive our food from when we arrived. Food was very good when it did arrive but needless to say we had to then rush it.

The Hungry Monk
Church Road, Greystones, Greystones, Wicklow

We hadn't been here in a while, but all was still as good as ever. Had the black pudding and goats cheese as starters- both fabulous, steak and the lamb burger for mains- excellent. Beautiful half bottle of wine also. Lovely seasonal specials available, staff here are professional and relaxed, everyone coming in knew them by name so obviously lots of return custom here. It was a freezing winters night out (side door used instead) but it was so cosy in this restaurant, I just love it!

Vinos Restaurant & Cafe
Church Road, Greystones, Greystones, Wicklow

Have eaten here twice, enjoyed it the first time but will not go back again. Food is of a good standard but far too expensive for what you get, as you only get a basic main and potatoes etc are extra, side salad very boring, not even dressing offered. The decor needs a serious facelift (white plastic chairs outside in summer). I don't understand the popularity of this place.

Scent Garden Restaurant (Greystones)
1 Main Street, Greystones, Wicklow

Excellent restaurant, we had the chef cook for us at our table, really good experience, but I would say that the portions were a little small; I definitely could have eaten more, which for the money was a little disappointing. In saying that I would go back as the food was fabulous.
