Went to this fabulous Hotel for a special Birthday meal and it was amazing.. This Hotel offers the complete meal experience in beautiful surroundings with food that is just mouth watering from start to finish.A big fire awaits guests arrival and the Drawing Room has a massive Christmas tree with large candles dotted around the room. We were brought to the Library for a pre dinner drink and some tasty complimentary appetisers.Stuffed mushrooms ,savoury smoked salmon tartlets and chicken satay whetted our tast buds while we studied the menu.Delicious! Our waitress was well versed in explaining the menu and very efficient. It is a five course table dhote menu with a choice of 5 within each course. I went for the seafood starter which consisted of scallops, timbale of crabmeat and a lobster bisque while my other half had the darn of salmon. This was accompanied by a selection of house breads ,absolutely gorgeous! The food was beautifully presented and the attention to detail was excellent. Another surprise was in store while we waited for our mains, a triangle of toated fruit loaf with goats cheese pate , again beautifully presented, a very interesting combination. Main courses of rib eye beef and turbot followed and we savoured each mouthful , just melt in your mouth. This was all washed down with a bottle of house rose. As we let our food settled I noticed the dining room was almost full and there was a lovely atmosphere, the staff certainly provided service without servility. I couldnt resist the selection of Irish cheeses served with a great variety of crackers and homemade chutney . My other half had the poached pear with home made ice cream and brandy snap. We then returned to the library for coffee and petit fours, a wonderful end to a wonderful meal.I could only describe the evening as a little bit of heaven so if you want to celebrate that special occassion in style treat yourself to dinner in Marlfield. Well done to all the team !

Jack Whites Inn
Jack Whites Cross Brittas Bay, Wicklow Town, Wicklow

visited this pub last week, it was around 4.30pm so the restaurant was quiet but we were disappointed to say the least. Ordered garlic stuffed mushrooms to start , the 4 mushrooms were ok if a little overcooked but the salad was limp with even some yellow leaves on the plate, inedible to say the least! I pointed this out to our exceptionally polite waitress who said she would inform the chef. After about 40 mins our main courses arrived , my other half had the half roast chicken with vegetables and potatoes, , the chicken was fine but the reheated vegetables were tired and overcooked. I had the salmon salad, a tiny portion of tasty enough salmon with over cooked couscous, salad leaves, olives and quiet nice feta cheese.Luckily enough I had asked for the dressing on the side!We had a waffle and ice cream to share, the waffle was tasteless and bland and had seen fresher days, All in all a very disappointing experience and we will not be returning.

The Quays Restaurant and Grill
31 Main St, Arklow, Arklow, Wicklow

We went here on Sunday with a Grab one voucher. The restaurant is upstairs in a big cold room with no atmosphere. We were met by a very pleasant waitress who did her best to loo after us during our visit. We ordered mussels to share and waited 40 mins for this ! They were overcooked and in what I could only describe as a bowl of tasteless cream, worse still we found 2 unopened ones in the bottom of the bowl. The bread however was freshly baked and delicious. Our mains arrived after another hour, the chef was busy due to Fathers Day. While the steak was nice the sauce was totally tasteless, carmalised onions burnt, and the potato gratin was pickled with salt.My friend had the chicken, overcooked and dry but served with a nice selection of vegetables and potatoes. The restaurant menu is totally overpriced and this restaurant has a serious amount of work to do to come up to an acceptable standard.

Madelines Country Kitchen
The Square, Tinahely, Arklow, Arklow, Wicklow

This eatery offers a cosy atmosphere with value for money. Had the lasagne, chips and salad and it represented real home cooking, tasty , hot and freshly prepared. My other half had the chicken and while he felt the portion a little small it was very tasty. We had 2 lovely coffees biscuits and it did not break the bank. Our waitress was exceptionally efficient and pleasant. All in all a good experience and we will be back

Ashford Oriental
Main Street , Ashford , Ashford, Wicklow

used the menu pages deal yesterday and we were delighted with our meal. Full menu choice, plenty of food and very pleasant staff who made us feel more than welcome. Had the vegetarian platter and my other half had the stuffed crab claws\, both were beautifully presented and very tasty\. This was followed by fillet beef red curry , melt in your mouth and green thai chicken curry , equally delicious.Plenty of food, piping hot and served on warm plates , always a good sign! All this washed down with 2 glasses of wine , perfectly chilled. We did not have room for dessert as we were stuffed but there was a good selection . Finished off the meal with 2 coffees. This restaurant is giving great value on the menu pages deal ,, staff and food are great and we will be back for more culinary delights! Well done to all in the Oriental Ashford!

The Courtyard Ferns
Main Street, Ferns, Enniscorthy , Ferns, Wexford

My husband and I were passing through Ferns last Tuesday , Valentines Day and decided to call into the Court yard for lunch. We had heard a lot of good reports from various different people. The place was buzzing at 1.30 and we were immediately seen to our table by a very efficient and pleasant waiter. There was a full menu on offer and four specials at 9.95 ea. I had the braised beef with onions, melt in your mouth , and this was accompanied by 3 big scoops of mashed potatoes and a lovely selection of mixed vegetables. My husband had the plaice and it was equally delicious. Great value for money and real home cooked food. There is a great family atmosphere in this eatery and the staff are efficient and very friendly. We finished off our meal with piping hot coffee and were very happy with our experience in the CourtYard. Dont go through Ferns without calling in here , you wont be disappointed. Well done all!

Eco Pizzeria & Restaurant
50 Main Street, Gorey, Wexford

attended a 50th Birthday Party at this restaurant Saturday night. It was a large group so we were seated in the Magic room. We had access to the full A la Carte menu with our own drinks waitress who was extreamly pleasant and efficient. The room was cosy and the candle light added to the atmosphere, round tables would have been more sociable but the room only lends ifself to the long table . I had the Tempura and it was just mouth watering , a great selection of delicious bites including sweet potato , pepper, plaice , prawns and calamari accompanied by 3 dips. This was followed by the satay chicken skewers with boiled rice and salad. The satay sauce was excellent with a lovely nutty texture. All 18 people around me looked quiet contented too and I didnt hear one negative comment for the whole evening..A great night was had by all so well done everyone in Eco , 10 out of 10 for food, service and efficiency!

Had a lovely late lunch there last week.It was 3 pm when I called in to Katy Dalys for lunch and I was met by a friendly and helpful waitresss. She showed me to a nice booth and I browsed the very varied menu. I went for the chicken strips, they were in a light crispy batter and came with a lovely fresh side salad , 3 dips and chips. The food was well presented and nice and fresh, a very generous portion too.I really enjoyed my meal and it was very good value for money. Well done !

Aunty Lenas
Main Street, Adare, Co. Limerick, Adare, Limerick

This pub was recommended to us on a recent visit to Adare. We had the potato skins to share as a starter. It consisted of 2 small half potatoes with a ramakin of dip, not a bit of garnish in sight, it looked miserable on the plate but was quiet tasty. Poor value for money. Things improved with our main courses, my husband had the chicken tika and it was delicious. I went for the chicken bites with chips and salad. The chicken was in a lovely light batter and very tender and tasty. It was accompanied by a small portion of chips and a nice salad. The music was way too loud for early evening, as a result we left after our meal. This place has potential but needs more care and attention.

Casapepe Gorey
92 Main Street, Gorey, Gorey, Wexford

Went to this restaurant for the early bird menu. It provides a good selection of food at a reasonable price. We had the garlic mushrooms and prawns in filo pastry, very tasty and a good portion. This was followed by beef lasagne, it could have done with more meat, and the sauce was runny. It was accompanied by a side salad and chips.Dessert was apple pie and my friend had chocolate cake, delicious. We had a glass of house wine each . The wine was very expensive but all in all the food was good value for money. There was a nice atmosphere and our waitress was very pleasant.

The Coach House - Gorey
Esmonde Street, Gorey, Wexford

Went here today for a late lunch. The place was very busy and all the specials were gone, a good sign I thought! I ordered the chicken gougeons with side salad and chips . The 2 girls behind the bar were working very hard serving both food and drinks, they were exceptionally pleasant and my order was taken within a few minutes. The gougeons arrived on a cold plate with 2 dips ,chips and a tired and limp tiny portion of salad containing a lot of red onion. However the gougeons were home made, delicious and very tasty. It was a pity the meal was let down by the miserable salad saturated in a brown dressing. This place has great potential but needs to address a few points.

Partridges Artisan Cafe & Fine Food Shop
93 Main Street, Gorey, Wexford

We had a most enjoyable Sunday lunch in this eatery recently.I often pop in for a coffee and the staff are always exceptionally friendly and efficient.I had a steak baguette with mushrooms and red onion, the steak was cooked to perfection and accompanied by a really fresh green salad with a light lemony dressing and home potato wedges. My friend went for the pasta of the day with rustic bread. It did not disappoint with its combination of ricotta cheese and spinach in a delicious cream sauce.Portions were a good size and represented great value for money. We were not able for dessert but I must say the looked delicious. Instead we finished with two exceptionally good cappuccinos with a complimentary mini brownie on the side.Perfect!

Ravi's Kitchen - duplicate
174 Pembroke Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin

we visited this family run restaurant during horse show week.It is very homely and welcoming and we were immediately shown to our table. There is an exensive menu with a great selection of sushi and a good wine list..We enjoyed an interesting variety of vegetable nibbles while we made our choice. The avocado sushi did not disappoint and both the teriyaki beef and chicken would melt in your mouth, good portion size too. This was all washed down with a bottle of house white and made for a most enjoyable evening. They provide service without servility and had a good rapport with their clients. Our only fault was the hot food coming out on cold plates, it went cold quickly , we made this point on paying the bill and they took it on board. The price represented good value for money and we would recommend this restaurant.
