Reviewed 01st January 2012 ( visited 31st December 2011 )On arrival the place was very noisey and messy. Found a clean table and waited awhile to order French onion soup and ham chicken and stuffing sambo on toasted brown and a glass of water, The sambo arrived and the waitress asked would i like anything else and I replied yes the soup I ordered which was forgotten and then to sambo yes it was nice but Not what i ordered I got ham and cheese,The staff were to busy chattin among themselves to notice this and then eventully had to go up to counter to order coffee, A little tip for the staff they should be taught how to carry glasses to a table on a tray and NOT three glasses with fingers stuck right into them put me off glass of water! Way to expensive for very casual dining
The Duck Terrace@Marlfield House
Marlfield House Hotel & Restaurant, Courtown Road R742, Gorey, Gorey, Wexford
Have to say what a beautiful place,it must have been the hottest day of the year so it was amazing to sit out in the beautiful gardens. The bedrooms are amazing only thing missing was coffee making facility but there was water and apples instead. I am sorry to say that the food was such a big let down,Starter of onion tart was fine followed by all I can say was a green bowl of water supposed to be soup tasteless.and the mains of chicken again no flavour what so ever there was a sauce with it but so little of it and so thin that there was no flavours atall and they must have been short of veg in the kitchen as there was so little on the plate, dessert of panacotta was fine the fresh fruit served with it was beautiful. Breakfast in the morning was ok nothing amazing and could have been served with a smile. Before we left hotel ordered1 tea and 2 coffees to have in the garden this took 20 minutes to arrive and cost 10.50e sorry to say marlfield would not be a place i will return to for the money charged there are nicer places to go to stay and eat.

dined here on wednesday night for the first time. what a beautiful room to dine in and we were lucky to get a table at the window as the restaurant was very busy and i am not surprised as the menu is only e20 for two courses apart from a couple of steaks that have a small supplement. Starters we had tiger prawns and brie both very tasty and cooked perfectly and mains we had lamb shank and plaice again both tasting beautiful. Even though the restaurant was very busy the service was excellent each member of staff knowing what the were doing and with all so friendly. will be back and will recommend to everyone.

What a lovely spot and even better to be able to dine outside on one of two lovely terraces. We dined of the earlybird menu both had crab starter with beautiful bread served to table for mains I had shoulder of lamb with parsnip mash melt in the mouth and my guest had the chiclen dish looked beautiful and she really enjoyed as we both did. would recommend for value flavours and surrondings and will be back

visted here yesterday on the way home.spotted there xmas menu in the window so thought id check out, The main says a choice of starters main dessert and tea or coffee. Went for the camembert to start I cant understand why the chef even sent it out it was so over cooked was afraid to put my knife into it incase it flew across the floor, did get to taste bit of cheese it was ok,told the waiter that i thought it was overdone silly move as when i got my burger the bun was burnt to bits!!! the choice for dessert was ice cream or cheesecake no cheesecake so had a lovely tub of ben and gerrys icecream. when i ordered coffee i was told it wasnt included in menu would be two euro extra no thanks, and this should be printed on the menu. GOURMET burger I dont think so.

Have to say so worth a visit, 11 young ladies dined here and all of us loved the whole experience. we had a variety of starters breads fis and quail all served beautifully and such flavours, mains most of us chose to cook are steaks and a couple had fish again out of all of us no one dissapointed, To finish off we all had a variety of cocktails divine, So folks check this place out atmosphere service and food fantastic. Well done Dylan and team.

have visited a couple of times in the last month and ordered the same thing cup of soup advertised on the menu at 3.95E and shrimp cocktail,on this day the soup was tomato and basil and really very tastey as was the shrimp cocktail, What really annoyed me was that when I went to pay on both my visits I was charged 4.95 for cup of soup?? when I questioned on my last visit as i did before I was told by waitress that she was told to charge this and i explained that it was not the price on menu and need to sort tis out!!
Sheries Cafe Bar

A miserable tuesday evening brought us here, two lovely glasses of spanish white to start while looking at the menu which is quite basic. we choose cajun prawns to start 5 prawns with a lovely salad and all went down hill after this. I had asked for my burger without a bun and thats what i got literally on the plate with a bowl of chips, the chips were fine but i have to say the worst burger I have eaten out and have to pay for and my guests steak sambo wasnt any better the thinist piece of meat in a chiabatta bread no sauce or garnish and the meat was so fatty and tough! We had a nice bottle of house red wine which brought the bill to E75 way to much. Would not be returning or suggesting that anyone should visit.

just popped in to meet a friend for coffee,I was early so ordered toast and tea, toast fine something that i hope you couldnt get wrong. A very large poy of tae with a cup was brought to the table the cup was filthy and when I told the girl she was not impressed with me atall so when the next one cane more or less the same i said nothing and just got servette to clean.then to pour the tea it was like a big pot of water as only one tea bag! again it was not liked that i asked for another tea bag.My friend arrived and we sat outside make the most of sun and her latte was just fine for her Would not like to be sitting inside if busy as tables are tiny and on top of each other,

Highly recommend, fsntastic choice on a bargin menu E22.95 two course or E17.95 for one, Fried calamari with citrus mayo to start and goats cheese and beetroot salad both excellent taste and presentation. Mains was hard to choose as everything sounded great,we had seabass, hake and rib eye steak all cooked to perfection and plenty off, As we were all full we shared a sticky toffee pudding mmm. In all we agreed that its 11 out 10 and would all be back with other people to try out, Great to see nice and busy on a wednesday evening and well deserved.

Just popped in to check out our newest coffee shop in bray.it was early morning so i was very dissapointed to see that even though tables had been cleared of delph where people may have sat before i came in they were still dirty a real turn off! Ther was also a table of tourists beside me who couldnt use the toilets when they went upstairs as the lights were noy turned on. I did just have a cup off coffee which was freshly made so very good and the average price of what you would pay elsewhere

H have to start by sayin it seened rather hard to get a table here.they are closed sunday and monday but there is an awnser machine to take your booking,I left a message to book a table for early on tuesday evening after going to the cinema,By tuesday afternoon noone had returned my call so before leaving rang the restaurant to make booking for 6.15 my booking was taken by a girl who i rang back minutes later to say it would be a bit later after 6.30 she again said that was no problem, When we arrived at the restaurant my name or booking was NOT in the book, that was fine as there was plenty of free tables as a large room,I asked if we could sit at one of the two tables free in the window,no sorry we couldnt and sat elsewhere,I did say to my mum I bet those tables will still be empty when we leave. All that said we had a beautiful food at fantastic value earlybird 18 euro for two courses we both had pate to start beautifully presented in little pots with brioche and chutney and very tastey,I had beef and mushroon pie for mains really melt in the mouth and my mum had liver and bacon which she also said was beautiful. We had no room for dessert so just asked for our bill,Excellent value,Had to ask why we couldnt sit in the still free table in the window were told it had to be kept in case a table of 3 or 4 came in even tough the restaurant was not even half full plenty of tables even if a party of 20 came in!! Would recommend for food not so much the service.
Milano (Dun Laoghaire)

visited here early tuesday evening,my first impression was how dirty all the tables were even though they were set for dinner. I seated myself and got my own menus as noone came near me for ten minutes, when my guest arrived though they couldnt wait to take order, food to me only average have to say lasagne looked dreadful and tasted only ok, all there wine is overpriced especially glasses at 8.50 a glass!! two starters two main 1 dessert, bottle wine and two glasses.we had a voucher for one free main course bill 80euro to much for the surronding the service and food wont be rushing back.
Nosh N Coffee
Unit 15 - Meridian Centre, Church Road, Greystones, Wicklow
Had a dreadful experience here last week,Plenty of staff not one knowing what to do,Ordered a chicken and crispy bacon sandwish it arrived on stale bread so got it toasted. A child with us had a cup of hot milk we we questioned the bill and were told by a senior staff member in a very rude manner that this coste 3euro!! When we said we would not back for these prices they threw the 2euro on the table and told us not to bother
22 Ely Place, (Just off St. Stephen’s Green), Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
we decided to dine here last night for the done in dublin week as none of us had eaten here before. the set menu read well with plenty of choice all of our starters were good, salmon vegetable tart beef and prawns but went wrong with our main course.two of us ordered chicken with gratin potatoes and mushroom sauce but got chicken with jacket chips and sundried tomatoes no sauce, we did tell the waiter who tried to sort out we got the sauce delivered but wasnt very nice like a bowl cream, our dessets were fine. The set menu for the week was 30euro to eat of the alacarte would be expensive for the standard of food served.
Cavistons Seafood Restaurant

had lunch here on sat, could only get the middle sitting,it took 20 minutse before someone took our order and the still had the cheek to tell us we had to go for next sitting and our wine wasnt even finished. fish good as you would expect with shop next door but way way over priced for the surrondings and the very short sitting.would not be rushing back or recommending, staff should learn how to smile

was really looking forward to dinner here as i havent been in in ages and have always enjoyed. last night I was very dissapointed. When I was seated to wait for my guests i was given menus but wasnt asked if i would like a drink before my meal which I would have ordered, We were to late to order of the earlybird menu so choose to eat of set menu 29-99 per head, one of my guests and i choose the same starter and mains a mixture of mini lamb dishes to start which was nice but the main really was dreadful and not atall what i would have expected from Chakra,It was a chicken thigh curryand that is all you could taste was the thigh meat no other flavours it tasted to me like packet sauce. For what we got food wise it was way over priced and would be awhile before i think about going back!

Royal Park Chinese Restaurant

Arrived here last night looking for a table of four and I must say we were all delighted. The place was buzzing and the staff and decor of the place both great. We had a variety of starters, ribs wonton soup and prawns all excellent and served without a long wait, mains were if I may say even better I had prawns with salt and chili and noodles divine, the Thai green curry also great we were all very happy with our food which could be seen by the plates and we had plenty to eat only one of us could fit in sorbet after. I haven't had a Chinese meal that was so good in such a long time will definitely be back again.

Had a great afternoon here on sunday,we ate outside dispite the irish weather we were well covered and a heater above us. the variety of food on the menu is great, steaks chicken lasagne curry to name but a few. There were seven of us so we had a great selection of food on the table, everyone enjoyed their food,I had a sirloin steak cooked rare as requested fab. We shared a couple of desserts cheesecake banoffi and fruit pavlova.one thing I have to say there was a severe lack of froit with pavlova. The service allday was great and we all would visit again excellent value

A lovely meal here Sunday evening, bruschetta and prawns, a little over priced for the frozen king prawns five in garlic fer just over 10 euro, mains a very tasty burger and grilled chicken in a tomato sauce very good, we also had two lovely desserts. Al round lovely restaurant good service and food for all the family.
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin
Went for lunch bank holiday, busy as always as excellent value. The food as always was fab prawn bisque and Cesar salad to start among other choices, and chicken salmon and cod for mains all presented so well with vegetables and potatoes and pavlova and sticky toffee for dessert. We all felt however that yesterday that the standard of service had really dropped,we waited ages to order and when our starters arrived we still waited for our wine which i had to ask waitress for. When the prawn bisque was being served it just missed going down my guests back, and when our mains were being served the sauce from the chicken was spilt all over the table.
The Happy Pear
Church Road, Greystones, Greystones, Wicklow
Had been here once before and had salads which I didn't like but decided to go back and give it another try. This time I went for a bowl of homemade mixed bean soup with homemade bread, To be honest it was dreadful it was like wallpaper paste it was that thick just couldn't eat, place overall looks like it needs a good clean' Will not be rushing back again to try anything else on offer
102 Main St, Bray, Co. Wicklow, Bray, Wicklow
Always a warm welcome from all the staff, best thing to have is the lovely fresh salads with real chicken, I'd stay clear of lasagne more sauce than meat. It's such a pity that there is no more home made molloys brown bread. Coffee has gone off in recent times weak and watery and need lessons on how to do a good latte.
St Andrew Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Five of us dined here last night we ate from the pre theatre menu which is excellent value if you want to dine midweek. All fairly basic dishes but my deep fried brie to start and my citrus chicken excellent, everyone else happy with mains of seabass, duck and cannelloni, noone had dessert as we all had plenty to eat. The staff all very friendly weren't rushed out will say it did take a while to get are bill. Will be back again.
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Very busy spot, can’t book a table which means you can be quite late getting a table and very late eating. Staff all very pleasant enjoyed the mix of tapas we chose meats breads and fish, I would say a little over priced for size of portions. Will go back but will go earlier great buzz.
73 Main Street, Bray, Wicklow
