Dined here today. My partner had won a voucher on facebook for writing a lovely review for them.Voucher: Lunch x 2 and 2 glasses of wine. We arrived and were seated. The waiter got our menus and we taught we better ask whats included with the voucher, he left with the voucher and returned 15mins later to advise any maincourse each fom the menu and a glass of wine. Perfect.Another 10mins later a waitress came to take our order, I orded the lemon chicken, wine and some water. Waited forever for the drinks to arrive and no bread came to the table. We were left to feel like the dirth on the waiters shoe as we had a voucher we were not important. When the drinks finally arrived the waitress carried them with her fingers all over the top of the glass, even i know how to pass a glass of anything to someone. Food arrived and it was ok, cant complain all i can say is that i would have preferred to have paid for the meal as once we presented the voucher we were treated differently. Would I return....No. Better chocies in the city with friendly staff,
El Toro Loco
c/o The Courtyard, Johnstown, Navan, Meath
El Toro Loco???? Its been open a while, heard mixed reviews but taught it was time we tryed it. Mexican in Navan...sounds interesting and menu reads well. We arrived for our table, its a big building, had to walk all the way to the back of the room, this is where the restaurant is, a lot of screaming kids, not what u want on your night out, a lady and her husband passed us on their way out, making a comment 'Hope your not in a hurry'...we werent so we passed no remarks. Waited ages to be seated and the waitress just kept saying she was 'sorry'. Finally brought to our table, a bottle of still water on the table with a price tag on it....very cheap marketing. We had brought our own wine and what looked like one of the owners served us, we advised we had our own wine, he grunted and didnt even open or pour it, E4.00 corkage for wine we opend ourselves and it was a screwcap. Ordered our food, I had Chicken wings, yuck, and my friend had the BBQ wings, she didnt eat either, again the waitress said she was 'sorry' and went on to explain that they were really busy and shorT staffed. Main courses Fajitas for me, can cook better at home tasteless and the beef was so over cooked. My friend had the Tacos, and eat most of them. Topped up our wine our selves. Got the bill with the waitress saying 'Sorry' again for the slow service, 2.5hrs later left feeling like i had been robbed. El Toro Loco (The Crazy Bull) more like 'The Mad Cow'. Would I return....NO!
Corks Cafe and Wine Bar

Unit 1 9 Old Cornmarket Navan, Navan, Meath
Had lunch here today, a great selection to choose from if you have a few hours to stand and read the over sized blackboard. Its a coffee shop that u stand and make your order, no table service, which im not too keen on but it works for them. I had a few salads and some brown bread, i could do the same at home but i was in a rush, coffee is great. would i come back again yes, but i would prefer a menu on the table. Also tables are so close together.Seems to do a better takeaway business than a sit down, everyone seemed to be having a coffee and a scone.
O'Briens Coffee Shop
Metges Lane, Navan, Meath
I am regular customer and always try something different, from soup to bread to dessert, never fails but today when i was in, something shocked me, staff were sitting outside smoking, no problem but when they returned to the counter they never washed their hands, and when ahead serving customers, i felt sick and didnt eat the rest of my bagel. For that reason alon i will never return as its very sad as i have always had my lunch there.
19 Watergate Street, Meath, Navan, Meath
Oh my GOD. How do these people get away with serving such muck and call it food. Has to be the worst place i have ever eaten it. Only went as i was meeting a friend and she two was also disgusted. The place is filty inside and out. Staff would do anything for you as they seem so keen to have a customer in. After what i saw and eat im not sure i can ever eat India food again. Shame as there are so many good india restaurants in Ireland and its a shame that places like this put a bad name to the food.

Oriental Palace Chinese Restaurant & Take Away
Unit 1, 1/F Kennedy Road, Kennedy Centre, Navan, Meath
came ere for dinner last week. Not a big fan of chinese, but like it now and again. restaurant is big, no one dining with lots of staff around. Food was very plain and boring, wine was not cold but the restauarant was cold. Its seems good value for money but its not with the level of food been served. tasteless, not even as much as salt or pepper, wont be returning.
Red Chili Pepper Restaurant

Got a takeaway from here last saturday night. I called in to collect the food, as the weather was so bad i wouldnt ask anoyone to deliver it. restaurant was empty, just staff stanmding around. I collected the food and went home. Have to say that the food wasnt nice. so much oil, starter was served in a tin container and make it very soft. rice was cold and this is very dangerous. I phoned up the next day to complain, and i was told ' no problem mam next tiem you order we will look after you' but i wont order again, my health is worth more than that.

eat here last nite with my b/f. Having been waiitng for ages to try this out. Very disappointed. starter was lovely. Main courses arrived, my main course was a chicken and potato dish, more potato than chicken and i had ordered a side of potato, which is where the waiter should have advised me that there is alot of potato in my main course and i cld have ordered a different side dish, with so much potato (with skin on) i cldnt eat it, flavour wasnt nice, i love spicy food but this was bland. wont return.
26 Trimgate Street, Navan, Meath
This has to be the worse restaurant ever, how they can call themselves a restaurant even. had dinner ere with my husband, first time ere and it will be my last, no manners on customers or staff in this place. whole restaurant is dirty and food, well we cldnt even see what our food was it was so dark inside. we complained but it didnt matter, they didnt care, actually one of the waitress had a laugh at us. i have ever been so insulted in my life. i will of course never be back.

Cinnamon Garden Restaurant
Main Street, Ashbourne, Above Molly's Pub, Ashbourne, Meath
got a takeaway from ere, on my way home from work. ordered and it took nearly 40minutes to get it, even though there was only 1 table in the restaurant. food was not at all nice. the restaurant is very nicely decorated, but if it takes this long to get a takeaway and they are not busy i dont tink i will chnace eating in house.
Ashleigh Centre, Main Street, Castleknock, Dublin
came ere with my mom, son and partner. have never been before. the deco is very boring and very cold, but would not turn me off comming ere again. we ordered from the early bird menu, great value at 19.95 for 3 courses. i had the duck for starters, it wasnt nice, it was very dry and there was no sauce. i didnt complain, i wasnt sure how the rest of the evening was going to go. i ordered salmon for my mains....fantastic, i really njoyed it, cld have done with some more seasoning. i was so full that i cldnt have dessert, my partner did and he really njoyed. my son was a little disappointed with the kids menu, all deep fryed items served with chips but they did gave him some mash instead of the chips as he requested, staff were very friendly, but service was a bit slow, our wine wasnt topped up we did this ourselves. as it was my moms birthday we decided to have an after dinner drink, my mom asked for irish mist but we were advised they did not have it. on our way out we thanked who we taught was the mananger and politely showed him the irish mist on the shelf behind the bar, this is not ment as a complaint as we know he did search for it in both bars, he just missed it. we will defo be back and cant wait to try it for lunch as we are often in blanch cathn a movie and we can never find anywhere nice to have lunch. i tink we have found a lovely spot. well done to all...c u soon.

Montys of Rathgar
88 Rathgar Road, Rathgar, Dublin
came here with my partner and son. the restaurant was lovely as we walked in, tables outside were all lit up. we had no reservation but we were brought to a table. the food was very salty, and even after we sent it back it was still salty. the wine was not great, our choice but it failed for me. i was disappointed with it. the staff were lovely and tasted our food and agreed that it was too salty. dont tink i would come back ere in a hurry. since writing this review i have spoken to the owner and he has apoligised and has asked us back to dine in the restaurant. thank you to the owner, and im greatfull for your phone call... hopefully we will see you soon.
China Garden (Meath)
Brews Hill, Navan, Meath
i eat in china garden alot but hadnt been for a while. things are really going down hill..... the place was really busy and we were made wait for out table...when i book a table i expect that it is ready when i arrive i dont mind waiting 10 -15 mins but longer than that is generally not good. the food was very tasteless and i was not a happy customer. the wine was lovely but no one was really paying attention, they are so busy and staff are running around and checking on table. i was trying for about 20mins to get the attention of the staff so we could order another bottle of wine with no luck. i will try again but not for a while.
Khan Tandoori (Navan)
19 Watergate Street, Navan, Navan, Meath
A few ago my friends invited me out for dinner, for an Indian i was told. i was so excited. Thinking that we were going to my favourite Indian in Navan, but when we got there that restaurant was closed, they do not open on Mondays. It was then decided that we would go to khan spices. i really did not want to go as i have had a takeaway from ere before and did not like it. Off we went. The place was quiet, we were the only ones there. Also there was a very strong smell of domestos coming from the toilets. i decided at that point that i would not use the toilet. We ordered. I did not have a starter but my friends did, they advised they did not like it, it was very oily, and they did not eat. We got our mains. Portion was small and all our dishes looked the same, chicken korma was too sweet and the dall was over cooked, and was swimming in oil. We did not eat and we left. the service was not great as the staff did not understand what we were saying and throughout our meal they were just staring at us all the time. This is a no no. nothing is good ere. and the deco is just awful, carpet is old and stained. Never ever again.

Khan's Indian Restaurant
19 Watergate Street, Navan, Meath
got a takeaway from ere on monday. i hadnt heard any thing good about the restaurant but i like to try it myself. i should have listened to my friends. first i placed the order and asked for it to be delivered. when i go the food, it wasnt what i ordered and i was charged the same price for a vegatarian dish as what they charge for a meat dish. anyway i had ordered aloo matter and i got aloo paneer. i do not eat dairy food and was very disappointed. also ordered chips and they were off. i called the restaurant and explained. they advised that they would send me the correct dish and fresh chips. i got the food but the chips were still off. i ended up cooking some chips myself. the food was not great. there was alot of oil even as i tryed to open the dish the oil was spilling out. i would not recoment this to anyone.
Eden Restaurant @ Bellinter House Hotel
Bellinter House, Navan, Meath
a group of us eat ere on friday night and it was well below standers, our food was served cold and the restaurant was not at all busy. the staff were not very well trained and did not understand the menu. i do not mind paying for good food but this was not at all... and the deco was very cold. i did not enjoy it at all and after complaining and our food been taken back twice to the kitchen we were still charged, and were looked at like it was our fault that there chef could not cook a steak.we left hungry. navan is really failing in good restaurants.
Copper & Spices Restaurant & Wine Bar
Ludlow Street, Navan, Meath
Dined here last Saturday with my husband. Lovely food, Keema Kebab followed by Butter Chicken. Restaurant was packed out, full house. Everyone was enjoying, even the celebrity Mr Richard Corrigan was dining with his family. Heard him talk after with Carmel (owner) advising that he loved the butter chicken. Well done to everyone at copper and spices, what an achievement to have a Michelin Star Chef dine in your restaurant. See you very soon.
Royal Tandoori (Navan)
26 Railway Street, Navan, Meath
i called in ere last week. as i seen that it had changed owners, and i did not like it very much the last time i was ere. but my god....bring back the old owners. the place inside hadnt changed, the staff had changed and they were so rude. we were very disapointed. the service was very slow and place was cold. we were of course the only people there.the food did not even taste indian, it amazes me what people think they can get away with.very sad.
The Russell Restaurant
15 Ludlow Street Navan, Navan, Meath
after been hear a few weeks ago i had vowed to never return but a girls night was arranged & it was decided that we were to go to the russell. it was left to me to organise this. i did book the table & requested that we did not wish to be put up stairs it was advised that we were sitting down stairs. we arrived and were brough to our table. we were given the early bird menu & a wine list.we ordered & the food came out quickly but the service was a disgrace. the waitress couldnt remember what anyone had ordered & was shouting the names of the dishes out & running al over the place to different sides of the table to serve different people. the starters were flawless and everyone enjoyed. like my last visit our wine was never topped up. we were served our main dishes like our starters. i had the steak and requested that it be cooked well done but not burnt(as per my last visit) i was advised that the steak is cooked like it is on a bbq & it may look burnt. i got my steak & it was cooked to perfection...but it was very tough meat. everyone taught the same & we couldnt all finish it. we were presented with small bowels of veg and mcdonald style fries. no sooner were the desserts finished when a male waiter came to the table and advised me that he needed the table back in 10 mins, & he walked away. i was very angry as were my friends. we were never advised when i booked the table or rang to comfirm. i understand that the table may have been needed but there are ways to advised people. it was very rude. when i questioned this with the hostess she advised that we could sit in the bar(which can fit about 4 people) or we could go up stairs(the one request that we had requested was to not go up stairs) we were all looking forward to having some last drinks together as we had a surprise for one of our friends. but this was not to be. the bill was brought to us very quickly we paid & tipped & left. the staff have a lot to learn. no matter what i will never return ere againt
26 Railway Street, Navan, Meath
i use to be a customer of gaylords and hadnt been n a very long time as i started going to another indian in navan. but as they were closed for a few days over christmas i decided to go to gaylords. i was not impressed. firstly we were put down the back of the room and there was no one else n the restaurnat. the carpet was very dirty, it clearly had not been washed in a long time, and there was a very damp smell. the guy who sat us at our table was very polite. we ordered our drinks and food but still dispite there been no one else in the restauratnt we waited 15mins to get our drinks. the food was not at all nice, all the dishes tasted the same. we got aloo gobhi as a side dish and the potatoes were hard. we asked for the food to be made spicy but it was very mild and very tasteless. the nann bread was very hard and very small. even after all this we asked for the bill and we were over charged. the whole experience was alfull. we will never be returning to gaylord again.
