The Italian Corner restaurant
23/24 Wellington Quay, Dublin City Centre, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin, Area Code:
Reviewed 06th November 2009 ( visited 03rd November 2009 )Myself an 5 friends went here to celebrate my friends birthday.. we came straight after work an were in time for the early bird. I think the majority of us orderes the wings an they were fab, the cheese sauce was gorgeous... I had the salmonn for main which was also tasty but a little dry an i asked for more sauce which they were happy to get for me. If i was to go again i would be sure to order a side order of veg though as i felt there was something missing from the dish. The other girls all also enjoyed their meals. At the end of our meal they brought out a slice of chocolate cake with a candle in it an the violinist played happy birthday even though we had not asked for this.. they must of overheard our conversation, i felt it was very nice an very attentive of them...i think we will be making a repeat appearance very soon!!!
Sean Og's restaurant
Kilmuckridge, Wexford, Kilmuckridge, Wexford
Reviewed 14th May 2009 ( visited 02nd May 2009 )Been here a lot as my mam lives down the road, friendly staff an always lively... but an update in menu would be good as i personally have run out of things to try... but for a newcomer a good selection
112 Baggot Street Lower, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went here with a voucher we had purchased. Food was delicious. We both had the lamb and it was melt in the mouth... the Strawberry sorbet was my favourite dessert and their house prosecco was really nice.
The Huntsman Inn
College Road, Galway City, Galway
We came here to grab a quick bite as we had eaten here a few years previous and loved it. There were very few people in the place so it was definately lacking atmosphere. I ordered the seafood linguine and it was delicious. The garlic bread that came on the side i felt let it down an it would be better to leave it off the plate. My partner ordered the spicy lamb which to be honest was horrible, the only thing you could taste is what he described as a very tangy strong mustard. Even after scraping it off the meat it was the only thing you could taste. We were disappointed with the evening as we had such high hopes from our previous experience.
Matz at the g
Wellpark Road, Galway City, Galway
Stayed at the G an had breakfast here both mornings. THe decor was fab and sets it apart from other hotel dining rooms. Our order was forgotten the first morning but after a half hour we brought it to a waiters attention an they couldnt apologise enough.. The food was delicious and there was plenty of choice.
Old Bray Road, Cabinteely, Dublin
Food here is lovely, an their house white of the week is normally great and great value. My only fault with it would be there can be a few too many kids which can mean the atmosphere is lost but you might get lucky on the night.
Old Bray Road,, Cabinteely Village, South Dublin, Cabinteely, Dublin
Have been here a few times an food is always lovely. Bill can add up quickly if you order too much. We have been advised we would need another dish if we were hungry but then not actually needing it. So if ordering order maybe go with 2 per person an you can always add on more if you would like more. They only take a few minutes to come out.
The 51 Bar
51 Haddington Road, D04 FD83, Baggot Street, Dublin
The lunch cavery is great! they offer turkey and ham everyday and have more selcetion that change everyday. My favourite is their chicken curry, chips and rice. The food is always hot and fresh and great value. Definately my new favourite place to go for lunch.
The Mill House
Lower Kilmacud Road, Stillorgan, Dublin
Went here for a friends birthday an ordered from a set menu. It was really good value and had a great selection to choose from. i had spring rolls for a starter, they came out hot an crispy with a nice sweet an sour dip to go with them. for main i got the steak, i asked for medium well an another of the girls ordered well done an both came out the same. It was still tasty though with big chunky chips on the side. I woulda like if the portion of pepper sauce was slightly bigger but i think most places generally serve a little amount of sauces. For dessert i ordered the pavlova... it was delicious, some of the fruit was a little soggy an old looking but i juist pushed it to one side, an enjoyed the fresher bits. Will happily return :)
Radhuni Indian Restaurant
8a The Crescent, Monkstown, Dublin
Decided to try here spur of the moment. When we went in there were only 2 other people in the restaurant which worried me a bit but considerin it was midweek i gave it the benefit of the doubt an ordered. We got onion bhajis t share which were tasty enough but i have had better. For main we went iwth chicken tikka masala which was delicious and creamy and super tasty and then we got Lamb dopiaza which neither of us had tried before. It was nice but a little of the spicy side for me and the meat could of been a bit more tender. the naan an rice were as good as any other indian as well as their popadums and yoghurt dips. Over all very nice.
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went for the lunch time menu, the restaurant seemed quiet. There was a good selection for teh €12 menu. I got the chicken wings which were delicious and the chicken an chorizo paella. The paella was yum but there was very little chorizo. Would go again.
Sanam Tandoori (Wicklow)
19 Castle Street Shopping Centre, Bray, Wicklow
Great value at €45 for 2 starters, 2 main, 2 ice-creams and tea or coffee, served with a choice of bottle of wine / 2 beers or 2 soft drinks. The wine wasn't great but the food was delicious. I ordered vegetable pakora, Beef Jalfrezi, with rice an naan... Would definately reccommend to a friend.
Solas (Wexford St)
31 Wexford Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Went here as i had purchased a city deal voucher for a tex mex platter and drinks. The first table we were given was wet as the air conditioning was leakin so we had to move tables, which was grand. The food came out pretty quick, the platter consisted of mini burritos, mini vegetable fajitas, chicken wings, nachos and a selection of dips. All of it was very tasty and your could tell it had been made fresh. The atmosphere was nice an relaxed which is what i was lookin for on a sunday evening.
Pablo Picante - Clarendon Market
4 Clarendon Market, Between Clarendon Row & South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
This place does be manic at lunch times. The service is quick but results in your food being flung together. Might result in it being rather sloppy but the taste is there ;) They have reduced there prices in line with the VAT reduction an also offer a student burrito for a fiver which is good :)
Purple Ocean Restaurant
St Michael's Pier, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
I had bought a city deal voucher which was for a 3 course meal and a glass of wine each. Because of this deal was so cheap the food was nice. If i was to pay full price i would be a bit miffed being honest. I would reccommend here for lunch with friends but not an evening out for a special occasion. We were seating at the window but it was along a narrow corridor so there was people walking up an down a lot past us that was rather intrusive. I will more than likely return but only if it was a good deal. Not worth paying over the odds for.
Mao Restaurant (Chatham Row)
2-3 Chatham Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Called in here for a quick bite to eat early bank holiday monday evening.. I was suprised there was no early bird or deals on as most other places had (probably explains why it was a lot quieter than other places) But i wanted to try their Chilli lime beef so we went with it. My boyfriend got the chicken Rahem an we got a naan bread to share as well as a beer each. The food was tasty and full of flavour. I would definately go for the beef again but wasn't too pushed on the other dish, an the naan bread seemed like it was out of a packet that you could buy in an supermarket. Will go again im sure but wont be rushing back.
La Dolce Vita - The Chase
Carmanhall Road, Dublin 18, Sandyford, Dublin
Had bought a boarsd deal which entitled me to a 3 course meal for 2 and a bottle of house white, for €40. The staff were very pleasant an we were allowed order anything off the menu without any supplements which was great. I got the foccacia to start and my boyfriend got spinach tortellini. For mains i got fillet stack an he got the special of the day which were lamb cutlets. An for dessert we got ice-cream an the special of the day lime and blueberry baked cheesecake which was delicious. The only complaint i would have was that the restaurant was absolutely roasting. about 15 minutes before we left they put on the air conditioning. When we go back ill know to ask them to put that on if its warm again .Definitely a great place to go. Would reccommend it to friends
The Hill, Stillorgan, Dublin
Went here on sunday afternoon for a quick snack an drink. I got chicken wings with msgowans sauce and chips an it was delicious. The waitress was super friendly and even though the place wasn't really busy it had a nice atmosphere to it. Will definately be back again.
Season's Restaurant @ Killerig Resort
Killerig, Carlow town, Carlow
A group of us stayed in the hotel for the night and some had dinner here before heading out. I think i ordered best with the beef stir fry. I thought it tasted delicious but woulda liked a few extra veg in it. Two of the others ordered 2 different burgers and neither came with a side salad as expected. The chips were undercooked and the other person who ordered a plain steak sandwich had onions in it. We found we didn't get our food for ages, and found there was never any staff available to help us. All round a bit disappointing :(
Jaipur Restaurant (George's Street)
41 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
Tried this restaurant at the taste of Dublin festival. Although it was cheaper than most other places there it was still on the expensive side. I got tandoori chicken and potato cubes. The cubes were delicious i could of eaten a whole bowl of them specially with the sweet sauce they had over them. But the chicken was disappointedly a drum stick. Normally tandoori chicken is super soft an juicy but even though it was dark meat ( which i wouldn't be a fan of at the best of times) it was dry and over- cooked. I woulda thought they'd put their best foot forward considerin the wide range of people there sampling. Overl all rather disappointing.
Eddie Rockets (O Connell Street)
O' Connell Street, City Centre North, Dublin
Went here before headin to the savoy. We were seated almost immediately which was great but then straight away someone was down to take our order. When we asked for some more time as we hadn't decided the waitress continued to stand there as if we had to rush.. when we said we'd be a few minutes she walkd away but was back a minute later so we ended up orderin in a rush. after all their rushing we were then left a longer than normal waiting time for cold food that was greedy on the toppings and generous on grease. I think it was the worst eddie rockets i have ever gotten. I wont be revisiting this branch for sure.
Fillies Bar & Restaurant
Leopardstown Racecourse, Leopardstown, Dublin
The staff here are friendly and they often have drink promos on. The food platters they offer are always freshly made and tasty.
22 Bar & Restaurant (Castleknock Hotel)
Castleknock Hotel Porterstown Road, Dublin 15, Castleknock, Dublin
Had a small snack at the bar while having a few drinks. The food was tasty and good value. Was a bit disappointed when what i originally ordered wasn't available but the waiter apologised and gave me a chance to order something different. The bar area was very nicely decorated.
The Baggot Inn
143 Lower Baggott Street, Baggot Street, St Stephens Green, Dublin
I had bought a living social deal for €23 which included a bottle of prosseco and a platter for 4. As soon as we walked in, a staff member was over to take our order, very helpful and friendly. The food was fresh ansd tasty and the plates were cleared as soon as we finished. They have a wii set up on the big screen so its nice an lively and full of laughter!
Devoy Quarter, Naas, Kildare
Was staying in the hotel for the night and went to the bar for dinner. It took us a while to get the attention of someone to order even though we asked at the bar to send someone down. When we got the food it was lovely, i had the beef stir fry. Others had the lasagne and beef burger and all seemed happy with them.
The Eagle House
18 Glasthule Road, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
A big group of us ordered at different stages during the day. I had the tikka masala and it was delicious. Major confusion when the bill came though as they put about 15 peoples bills together although we didn't order together so that was a pain. An they over charged us but the girl was helpful enough and rectified the mistakes. Would definately eat here again.
Bailey Bar @ Trim Castle Hotel
Castle St, Trim, Meath
Stayed in the hotel an as part of the package we had a chamagne afternoon tea. the desserts were nice and had a good selection. whereas i felt the sandwiches seemed like they had been made the day before and had been left in the fridge. The bar food looked lovely so if i was to go again i would try that instead.
Jules Restaurant @ Trim Castle Hotel
Castle Street, Trim, Meath
Had a 5 course meal for €25 which in theory sounds great. But when the food is rather bland and not great ya would prefer to pay the extra if the quality was going to be there. I cannot fault the serving staff they were lovely and friendly and very helpful. I had the crisp han hock for starters which was rahter slimy and the muchrooms and wilted spinach were only luke warm. butternut squash soup was nice. (and hot) then for mains i went with the beef it was a nice cut of beef and cooked how i ordered but the jus that went with it was rather tasteless and felt it needed something else to give it a kick!! Wouldn't eat there again.
7 Anglesea Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went for lunch to try it out before booking it for a work night out. When we went in first there were only 2 other people there was we were a bit worried but luckily we were wrong. The staff were helpful and friendly and the overall experience was good. We booked to go back at the end of the month for the 3 course meal so hopefully that lives up to the lunch time meal.
The Port House
64a South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
I had never tried tapas before so i was excited to see what they had to offer. Service was quick and friendly. The food was tasty and for the €10 we paid to include a glass of wine we all leflt stuffed. Will definately head back but maybe for the evening so we can stay on and enjoy the atmosphere.
FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin
went with a large group and ordered from the lunch menu. The food and service were faultless. Great amount of choice and for the quality it was a good price as well.
Siam Thai (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin
Went for an early bird here with one of my friends. Its €21 for two courses and tea or coffee. The place was packed and even though we hadn't booked they fit us in. We both had spring rolls to start and i had beef with chilli an thai spices. it was delicious and the beef was melt in your mouth good. Cannot wait to go back again and try some of their other dishes.
Victoria Asian Cuisine
5A The Cresent, South Co. Dublin , Monkstown, Dublin
went here for my cousins 18th birthday and it was a bit of a disaster. there was a problem with the elcetricity so we were left waiting in minimal lighting. But the staff were very helpful and friendly. the food was slow to come out but under the circumstances it is understandable. Will more than likely give them another chance.
Pizza Hut (Dundrum)
Unit CSA, 2M Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin
Not the best quality. would prefer to get alternative take away as the quality would be better an it would be cheaper!
26-28 Clarendon Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went after work for a quick bite to eat. I had the beef noodles. i was warned it was spicy which i was glad about cause it was very very spicy!!! My friends rice had to be sent back because it was cold but overall it was tasty and the staff were friendly. The wine was on the expensive side compared to the food.
Aughris Head, Templeboy, Sligo
I have been here many times over the years as we have a holiday home in the area. The owners are always welcoming an the food is also tasty an great value. Can't fault the place!
The Porterhouse (Central)
45-47 Nassau Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Went after work for a quick bite. the drinks on special were gret value a lovely botlle of pinot grigio for less that €15 an then there were other specials as well. The food had a good selsction and well presented. the highlight for me were the waiting staff that were very friendly and helpful.
McLoughlins Restaurant @ Roganstown Hotel
Roganstown Golf & Country Club, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin
Myself an my boyfriend stayed in the hotel for the long weekend and went for dinner one of the evenings. I thought the staff were lovely and helpful an the restaurant was nice. The food was also good, my favourite part had to be the reaspberry and passionfruit eaton mess.. the only draw back would be i woulda liken if there was one or two slightly cheaper options as once it was past the early bird time the mains got rather pricey.
Indie Spice Grill
Burgundy House, New Street, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin
We went here for dinner and were happy to find we were in time for the sunday special. It was €16.95 for three courses... For an indian i thought the presentation was fab an they were doing a promo on cocktails too which was yum. One of the nicest indians i have had in a long time. I am extremely happy as well as they are opening another branch close to were i live as we only went there cause we were staying in a nearby hotel for the weekend. The lamb was melt in your mouth tender and the chicken was juicy and tasty!!! Only thing i found strange was on the desert as decoration there seemed to be a piece of brown spaggheti... thought that was weird but we just took it out an the rest was delicious.
Scotts Cafe Bar
17 Upper George's Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
Atmosphere is great in that place, we went early to have food knowing there would be music on later on in the night. helped to ensure getting a seat and a table which is always a plus. Food was the average pub grub, i would be more inclined to visit again if they had a few deals on. if it wasn't for the good atmosphere i dont think i would go to eat there just for the food.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen - GBK (South William Street)
14 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Met a friend for lunch. The lunch deal was good value hence why we went there. Food was tasty an just what we needed to sit an have a casual relaxed chat. Handy location close to shops for my friend an close to my office.
Eddie Rockets (Stillorgan)
Stillorgan Shopping Centre, Stillorgan, Stillorgan, Dublin
Came for hangover cure and thats what we got. It was a little slow on service but food was the same as any other eddie rockets you went to. Wouldn't have a problem visiting this store again.
The Beacon Hotel, Beacon Court, Dublin 18, Sandyford, Dublin
ate here last weekend with a group of girls as part of a beacon special. we all got thai tapas an they were delicious. there was a good range of things to try for everyone and the thai prawn crackers had a lovely kick off them. Cannot wait to go back an eat there again to try more from the menu.
Toscana (Dun Laoghaire)
5 Windsor Terrace, South Co. Dublin , Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday and it was gorgeous.. i had garlic bread to start as i thought the other starters would be very filling an then the spinach an ricotto ravioli an it was amazing. Cannot wait to go back.
Eddie Rockets (Liffey Valley)
Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin
go here quiet often, once ya get inside your quick to be served, but as it is rather busy you can be waiting a while for a table... Food always good service always helpful.
10 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went for lunch an got the €10 deal. a great amount of options to choose from and super tasty. Cocktails on €5 as well so happy days. I got fish cakes an chicken curry. very good. whats strange i thought was that they bring the whole meal together. Suited me as we only have an hour for lunch but if ya were wanting a leisurely lunch it might make you feel rushed. cant wait to go back.
Newlands Cross, Naas Road, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin
Went her for a quick bite to eat an a ca5tch up with my friend. Great value, when we got there, there was actually 20 mains for €10, and on mondays all starters are only €5. we got nachos as wings to share an they were super tasty. then we both got two different pasta dishes for mains. i got chicken an chorizo i was a bit disappointed as i felt the chicken was dry from being over cooked an the chorizo wasn't as flavoured as id expect. Our waiter was friendly an helpful though. Will go back but will order something different next time.
Milano (Dawson Street)
38 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
went here for lunch with two of my work pals as i had a voucher which entitled us to get dough balls, a main an a glass of wine for €15. Service was good. we had all our food an paid within the hour we get for lunch an it was tasty. will go back again.
Brass Cock Bar
Woodlands Hotel and Leisure Centre, Dunmore Road, Waterford City, Waterford
stayed in the hotel an had dinner in the bar. I got a blt... i felt there was way too much bread for the amount of fillin... but was ok. Probably wouldn't order it again though. In future i dont think ill stay for dinner but travel into town, as service was a bit slow! but it was pretty cheap so i guess you get what you pay for!
Victoria Chinese Restaurant & Take Away
4 Main Street, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, Clondalkin, Dublin
Have eaten here many times an also get take aways delivered... Food is good find the quality of chicken can be better than other chinese restaurants. Would reccommend the satay chicken!
Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Its an average italian kinda place i reckon... staff friendly enough... food ok... pizza could of done with a bit more toppings.
Callaghans Bar & Bistro @ Hotel Clybaun
Clybaun Road, Knocknacarra, Galway
service and entertainment is great here... Staff are very friendly. Selection of food wouldn't be very extensive but good for a bar menu. They do a good value lunch deal 2 course for €10 midweek!
Il Folletto Restaurant
Quay Street, Galway City, Galway
went for dinner here an i have to say i was very dissapppointed, i had carbonara an it was ok but my boyfriend got pasta AOP an it was tasteless, he actually described it as super noodles before the powder was added, service was slow an unattentive an the whole experience was a let down!
McDonagh's Seafood House
22 Quay Street, Galway, Galway City, Galway
went for lunch here food was delicious... we went to the cafe place as the restaurant part doesn't open till later in the evening so service wasn't really a major part! But food was tasty would reccommend!
3 Eyre Street, Woodquay, Galway
Went here as a last minute idea, we were worried that we wouldn't get a table as we had been told by friends that it was a busy place!!! The staff were very friendly an gave us a table as soon as possible, i ordered the salmon fish cake to start. one of the nicest starters i have ever had, my boyfriend got the spare ribs an the meat fell off the bone an the sauce was tasty! the main wasn't as nice but still good i had a warm chicken salad an my bf had beef stir fry!! Over all a great meal an the atmosphere was great!!!! :o) Next time i go to galway ill be sure to go back!!
232-234 Salthill Upper, Salthill, Galway
Went here for brunch while on a weekend away, the place was lively but i fwlt there wasn't much on the menu for a quick snack or late breakfast.... but only had main meals but they did look tasty if thats what you were looking for!!! had soup an brown bread was average. Would probably go again if we were wanting a bigger meal!!!
Kilmuckridge, Gorey, Gorey, Wexford
Went here with my family to an all you can eat buffet disco. I can honestly say it was dinner with a twist. Food was great, service was great and friendly, atmosphere was alive as the place was packed an then a dj came on at the end of the night, it was not just dinner it was a whole night out. Very much enjoyed by everyone!!!
New Millennium Chinese Restaurant
51 South King Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
went for lunch an got the three course meal deal for €10.95. Ordered the springrolls and the szcehaun chicken main... springs rolls were pretty tasteless.. they were supposed to be vegetable but all that weew in it was the beanssprout things. Main was lovely even though we had to wait for quiet a while an then couldn't have the dessert as they has taken so long serving us an we had to go back to work. Probably will not go back in a hurry.
21 Dublin rd, Bray, Wicklow
me and my friend went for dinner here on saturday. The place was pretty quiet but it still took a while to get the attention of a waiter even though we had asked at the bar about ordering food. There is an ok selection at reasonable prices. I had the carbonara an it was very tasty. Would go for casual dinner again.
8 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Our manager brought the team here for our annual lunch. The food was delicious an atmosphere good as we didn't feel 2 hours fly by. Only complaint would be our table was right beside the door so we got blasted out of it with cold air every few seconds. Will return but will make sure to get a seat near the back of the restaurant!!!
Captain America's Cookhouse And Bar
44 Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went for lunch with a group of work colleagues as it was one of the fellas birthdays. We were able to book a table an were seated immediately when we got there even though it was very busy. Lunch menu is great at €9.95 i would reccommend the cajun chicken burger. Very tasty... Service staff friendly and welcoming.
Duke Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Went for lunch here... ordered soup and sandwich... soup was lovely an very tasty... i had a sandwich with roast beef an salad, the bread and filling were so cold i thought it had been stored in a freezer, strange i know. Apart from that it was enjoyable and the place has plenty of seating available upstairs which i wasn't aware of so if you do go remember that or you could be left standing with your tray in hand!!! The reason i have marked the service so low is cause its basically self service apart from getting the sandwich made an i felt a little rushed.
St. Stephen's Green, St Stephens Green, Dublin
Went for lunch with a friend, decided to give ourselves a monday treat... the place wasn't too busy so that was good.. The meals turned out to be buy one get one free so it was easy on our pockets. Food was ok but nothing of a great standard... Nice for a quick snack at lunch but far from fine dining. Wouldn't hurry back
Eddie Rockets (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Unit K (cinema block), Level 2M, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin
Went here for lunch with my boyfriend as we were doing a bit of christmas shopping, when we arrived the place was jammed so i expected the service to be slow. To my pleasant surprise we were seated almost immediately our waiter was very attentive an helpful. They have a deal at the moment, any burger fries an a malt or soda for €9.95... exceptional value and super tasty!!! Cannot wait to go again!
Amerta Chinese Restaurant
Clifton Avenue, Monkstown, Dublin
Went here with two friends and went for the all you can eat. I thought the food was great an great value.. it has been increased to €12 but still great... service was ok, if anything a tad slow but nothing bad enough to complain too m uch about! I would reccommend the kunp po beef....
Wicklow Street, City Centre South, Dublin
haven't sat down here but called in for a take away, asked for a particular cake an coffee as i was rushing back to the office i wasn't very happy with the three employees chatting t a friend for a good few minutes before taking my order, when i got back an found out it was the wrong order i was not impressed. Will not be using here again..Bad service and very expensive!!!!!!
Eddie Rockets (South Annes Street)
7 South Annes Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
went here for lunch today with a group of ten, had tried to reserve a table when we realised we'd be a big group but to no avail we had to wait 15 minutes which wasn't too bad because in that time they took our orders so when we did get a table our food was nearly ready... staff were very helpful and polite food was tasty as always... only issue was while we were waiting we had to stand at the door an felt in the way as the staff members had to constantly get us to move out of the way cause there was no where else for us to stand or sit. It is kinda expensive but its better when there is a few deals on... Will go again!!
The Italian Corner
23/24 Wellington Quay, Dublin City Centre, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin
Myself an 5 friends went here to celebrate my friends birthday.. we came straight after work an were in time for the early bird.
Green Dragon Well
Unit 13, Killiney Shopping Centre, Rochestown Ave, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
a large group of my family went for a 40th birthday party here... after hearing glowing reviews from many friends i was looking forward to the meal. Unfortunately we got off to a bad start, with the waiting staff only givin us 6 menus for 16 people. We all ordered our own starters an then we decided on getting 12 main meals with sides so everyone could try. The starters were very slow to come out. Three people were still waiting while the rest of us had finished completely. Mains were better an came out nearly all together... Once we got the food it was very tasty an after trying a good few of the mains i would go again but maybe with just one or two other people instead of a large group. The value was pretty good though an they gave us two bottles of wine on the house.. Happy days!!!
Arc Cafe Bar
Liffey Vallley Shopping Centre, Fonthill Rd, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin
Went there last night with a friend, we had a table booked but even though the place wasn't that busy it took ten minutes to be seated... due to no one being available to talk to us. I had looked up the menu using this site before going an was impressed but the results were not good... the starters were ok, only warm an then we had to wait ages for out mains.. i got the sole an it was rather cold, an the mash was lumpy, i was surprised when there was no veg on the side as normally there would be... my friend got the faijtas an was surprised when it came out as one wrap already made.. as i would imagine most of us are used to a lovely sizzling hot plate that arrives instead of a stodgey wrao drenched in what looked like ketchup... It took about ten minutes to get the waiters attention so we could order a second drink an the same again when we were looking for the bill.... We gave up after about 15 minutes an went up to the service desk to pay as the staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves.. I think the pub is a nice place to go but i think ill be staying away from the food section in future an wont be reccommending it to any friends!!!
3a The Crescent Monkstown, South Co. Dublin, Monkstown, Dublin
A friend of mine brought me here for my birthday on sunday... i have to say it was very enjoyable.. i had the carrot and sweet potato soup for starter an followed on with the salmonn.. personally i woulda liken a little bit more of the sauce, but i think thats cause it was so good... my friend had the breaded mushrooms... which personaly im not a fan of but i tried them anyway an they were surprisingly nice.. not as greasy an slimy as ya would expect... then he followed with steak mash an peppered sauce... the mash in my opinion was overpowered with onion... i think the concept was nice but they took it a step too far... when it came to desert i was just too full so we opted out of it... it is a place i definatley will visit again soon an i have a fair idea of what i want to order already!
South King Street, City Centre South, Dublin
go here often for lunch when i know ill be heading out after work.. food portions are huge an generally tasty.. only complaint would be their chips do be a bit soggy... its not the most amazing place but for a quick filling an value for money lunch its the place to go!
Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)
Millennium Walkway, Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin
I have been waiting fir the chance to go here for a long time.. everytime i pass i always insist it will be the next place i eat... I was somewhat disappointed when i got there in the end... Maybe its my take on what the food should be but i felt it was bland an nothing i couldn't make ten times better at home. Maybe the chef was having an off night but i will not be rushing back to give them a second chance anytime soon.
