A great spot for breakfast at the weekend. The food is fresh and good quality. The staff are friendly and very helpful. It's always busy which is testament to the food and service. The breakfast or the bacon bagels are yum.

We went here on a Sunday afternoon. The place was empty which was a shame. The service was very friendly and efficient. The food was good - the mains were huge. None of us could finish our meals. The meatballs were tasty. We were looking for the lunch special - but staff said that they don't do it on Sundays. This seems crazy in this day and age especially considering the place was empty.

The Old Boro Public House & Restaurant
Main Street, Swords, Dublin

A nice pub, lovely menu but the food was very poor. A group of us went and we all had different dishes and no-one was overly impressed by any of it. I was unlucky with my choices - caesar salad for starter (very mayoinaissey), beef and guiness pie and chips (beef was very tough) and then apple crumble ( it wasn't heated properly so I had to send it back. It also had a kind of raspberry syrup poured over it like you would get on a 99 - strange). The service was friendly but the food was a huge let down. I won't be back - shame as the setting was nice and the decor lovely.

Hugo's
6 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Overrated!! I'd heard so much about this place over the years that I was looking forward to checking it out. I was disappointed!! The service was slow and sloppy. One of our dishes was wrong as well but they did rectify that quickly. The food was ok - the starters were the nicest course of the meal. I won't be rushing back.

Avenue Cafe & Restaurant
Main Street, Maynooth, Kildare

We popped in for lunch when passing through Maynooth. We both opted for the lunch special any wrap/panini with soup and a coffee for a tenner. The leek and potato soup was very tasty and the wrap nice and fresh. It was a lot of food for the price and I couldn't finish the soup, The service was friendly and quick. The evening menu looked pricey but if the quality of the food we had a lunch was anything to go by it would be worth checking it out.

The Wild Swan Chinese Restaurant
1st Floor No1, Main Street, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

We were here for a birthday and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good and the service was helpful. They did have a very strange system of taking orders - the waiter took everyones starter order, then the main and then went around the table again for the rice order. It was the first time I've seen this so it was a bit strange. The staff were very friendly and sent out icecream for the (embarassed) birthday girl. It was good fun and good value - I'd go back
