Nice place with great food in general, but feels like a mix of fast-food and asian restaurant, a bit loud to my taste.

Maximilians Bistro
Superquinn Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Nice interior, OK location, friendly waiters, fantastic deserts. Some portions are a bit on a small side, main menu is a bit overpriced, but they have good Sunday Lunch and Early Bird deals. Take note their Early Bird actually finishes at 18:30, not 19:00 as stated.

My Thai
The Beacon Hotel, Beacon Court, Dublin 18, Sandyford, Dublin

Best Thai food I tasted in Dublin, for sure. Very nice and friendly waiters, even one real Thai gem there. Readily good value for money.

Mao Restaurant (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Nice place, convenient location, tasty food with generous portions. "Thai Green Curry with Prawns" was fantastic. A little bit lack of Asian authentic spirit in interior, waiters and menu design. Anyway, I'll definitely be back to try more dishes.

Aobaba
46A Capel Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Overall, as a takeaway it's great, a not-too-bad place for a quick snack or a lunch if you work nearby, but not a good choice for a relaxed restaurant experience. You cannot book a table, there are only 3 or 4 of them, the rest is a set of bar stools, room is very small and sometimes crowded. Staff is willing to help, but their English is sometimes hard to understand. Food is great and relatively cheap, portions are generous - no complaints here.

Pregos
Unit 2 Balloyowen Castle Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

I've been there this week with my daughter and I've been there several times before. I like many things about this place: fair prices, tasty food, good location. My favourite dish is Tagliatelle Pregos - it's just delicious. Bad sides: the waiter's English is not good, or not good enough to completely understand what exactly you're ordering. Make sure you explain him everything precisely. When I've ordered 1 portion of Tagliatelle and asked to divide it into 2 plates: small and normal - I got a plate of Tagliatelle and another plate of pasta without anything (of course I was charged as for 2 plates). When I've ordered a Caesar salad, I asked how much it'll cost and got a reply that it's a "Side Salad" and costs 2.95 (as you can see in their menu online here), but I end up paying 6.50 for it - probably they've decided that it's too complex dish to be called a side salad... Conclusion: if I'll go there again - I'd probably use it as a take-away - I'll save money on paying for food I didn't order.

Czech Inn
Essex Street - le Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin

We've been there a few times already - cannot say much good about the service and atmosphere, but the choice of Czech beers is really great, which makes this place pretty good for me. A few dishes were very good and not too expensive. Dishes I can recommend: chicken salad (its size is tremendous), knedliki with sauerkraut and bakon, chicken in cheese, fried cheese. When I was in Prague I tried a pork knee - it was very delicious and big - I've spent 2 hours eating it... Here the pork knee is smaller, not that much meat in it and it's cooked differently to what I used to get in Prague... A bit disappointing. By the way - if you want a better service - you'd better go to the 1st floor - there are more floor stuff there or they just work quicker.
