Have eaten twice here and cannot wait to go back. First time, I had the garlic mushrooms for starter and Cajun Chicken for main. Also tasted the mixed bruschetta and the satay. All of which tasted fantastic, huge portions and very reasonably priced. Returned a second time and ordered the blue ridge chicken salad which is one of the nicest salads I've had in a long time followed by the snickers cake for desert. Again, food was delicious, nice portions and very good price. Highly recommend this restaurant and will deffinitely be returning. Only downside was it is incredibly warm inside and a little cramped. Doesn't stop this place from being completely booked out every time we go. Reservations essential to get a table, up to a week in advance if you want a saturday evening.

El Vino
U11 East Village, Douglas, Cork

Had wanted to try this place for a while. It's small but nice inside. Food and wine both ok but expensive. Patatas Bravas was not great for a tapas bar. Bruschetta and stuffed mushrooms were nice but could have been a bit hotter. Paella was nice with plenty of fish but very creamy and heavy (like a risotto texture) compared to others I have tried. Also tasted some of the chicken salad which was very good. Will probably go back but have tried nicer tapas bars

Liberty Grill
32 Washington Street, Cork City, Cork

Had a nice brunch in here on Saturday around noon. Was very busy and had to wait for a table. When we were leaving there was queue outside the door. Food was great, had a really nice chicken salad and a coffee and some cinnamon toast. Lots of people ordering eggs benedict which looked delicious. Menu has a nice selection and would deffinitely go back for breakfast/lunch. Friendly staff too which was nice.

Scoozi!
2-5 Winthrop Lane, Winthrop Street, Cork, Cork City, Cork

Had an early dinner in here yesterday. Short wait when we got in but I've seen the queue for this place wind down the street so was glad that we didnt have to wait outside. We were given a menu to look at while we waited. Service was quick once we were seated. We shared a bruschetta for starter which was really nice and plenty for 2 people. For mains we ordered the Pesto burger with swiss cheese, bacon, hazlenuts and basil pesto mayo. This was really good and would order it again. We also ordered a Creole burger. This was just ok, wasn't half as nice as the other burger and wouldn't recommend it. Burgers served with chips/baked potato, side salad and delicious homemade coleslaw. Came to about 36 euro. Not exactly cheap for burgers and chips but a nice enough meal. Would go back but try something different

The Waterside Bar & Bistro
Ninth Lock, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin

Had dinner and drinks here last night with family. It was quiet inside but it seems a nice enough pub. Staff came straight over to offer us drinks. We ordered 3 starters and 4 mains including food from the early bird which runs up to 8pm. The early bird is great value for the food you get. Parents had been here before and enjoyed it and I found it really nice too. Portions are huge and food tastes great and is fresh. We tried the thai red curry, cajun chicken salad, cajun chicken burger and battered cod. Dinner and 2 rounds of drink for 4 people came in under 100 euro which we found great value. None of us could finish our mains and all really enjoyed the food. They also do a good deal of a pint of budweiser and a burger for 10 euro during premiership games which is great value considering the size and quality of the burger/chips. Will probably go back with friends for that offer

The Port House
64a South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Stopped in for lunch yesterday after reading the great reviews on menupages. Was a slight wait for a table but staff was friendly. It's small inside but it just adds to the charm. Really nice atmosphere and the whole place was lit by candle light. We didn't have to wait long for the food. We ordered 4 pintxos, a patatas and a salad. The salad never arrived but we were full enough after the other food so didn't mind and we just told the waitress not to worry about it. The food itself was delicious. We will deffinitely be returning. Lunch for 2 including a large glass of red wine came to 26 which we found very good for an enjoyable lunch.

Farmgate Cafe
Old English Market, Princes Street, Cork City, Cork

Stopped in here for lunch on the bank holiday weekend of the jazz festival. Naturally the place was packed with a queue winding down the stairs but we weren't waiting too long and the staff seemed to be doing a great job despite the slightly cramped space. The food looked great going to the tables, even the sandwiches and cakes at the till looked fantastic. We went for the spicy chicken sandwich which was just what we needed after a night out. Will be going back for another one soon. Delicious home made ciabatta style roll with garlic oil rub, cajun roasted chicken breast, tomato, lettuce and the most amazing garlic style yoghurt sauce served with pickled cucumber. Didn't feel too heavy and tasted wonderful. At about €7.50 they're not cheap but would recommend trying one. The best thing about it was the view down into the market while eating your lunch and the guy playing the piano on the top floor. Really enjoyable spot to drop in for lunch at the weekend while everyone is busy shopping in the market below.

Koh
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

Went for the pre-theatre 2 weeks ago. Food and service was faultless. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the waiter took our jackets as we were seated. We ordered the Vietnamese Beef Balls and Sticky Pork Betel Leaves for starters. Both of which were fantastic. Would highly recommend the Betel Leaves. For mains we had the chicken and cashew nuts and beef panaeng curry. Service was quick, food was excellent again and portions were plenty. We both struggled to finish our mains and were too full for desert which looked really good. 2 starters, 2 mains, a large tiger beer and 2 glasses of prosecco came to about sixty euro which we found to be very reasonable. We then moved out to the bar for cocktails which were amazing. Overall we both loved Koh and will definitely be returning soon

Chatham Brasserie
Chatham Street, City Centre South, Dublin

A group of 8 of us booked in here on a tuesday night for a work dinner. Fairly quiet as expected for a tuesday and a nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Service was good. The food was very nice. I had the garlic prawn bruschetta for starter which was divine and a nice size. Also tried the chicken wings which were good, your average Franks style buffalo wings and a big portion served with celery/dip. For main course I had the rib-eye steak which was cooked to perfection, seasoned well and served with nice thick chunky fries and peppercorn sauce. Other notable mentions for the fish and chips which looked amazing and the burgers which were huge. Everyone enjoyed the meal, not sure of the overall cost as it was paid for by work but it's certainly not cheap although the food and service is high quality.

Fallon and Byrne
11-17 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

My girlfriend recommended this place for lunch having been in here regularly in the past. My first experience and enjoyed it overall. We sat downstairs in the cellar and it has a really nice relaxed atmosphere. Wasn't too busy for lunch hour but had almost filled by the time we left. We ordered the charcuterie board of mixed cured meats and cheese with grapes and some nice warm fresh bread, wine and coffee. Service was a little slow (friendly though) and overall I thought it was a really nice relaxed place to drop in for lunch. Will be returning again.
