Reviewed 24th March 2014 ( visited 24th January 2014 )Came here for the first timein ages. My order was ok. But friends lemon chicken was so hard she needed a saw to cut throught it. So i was pretty dissapointing as I used to really like it here. I'd feel id be taking a risk if i returned.
Miami Cafe restaurant
55 Georges Street Lower, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, Area Code:
Reviewed 24th March 2014 ( visited 19th January 2014 )I used to come here for years. I always really liked the food and never had much to say about the staff. But recently I'd tried it three time with hope each time and finally i will never return again. One of the staff members is really rude, very unfriendly and very unappreciative of any custom - a bad attitude towards customer service. The chips are gone so bad, greasy thin little chips with a serious decline in quantity. All the chips are regulared size and makes them seem far from home made or hand cut. I also got a take away recently and the bag of chips I ordered was literally the white little bag filled and then put into a large brown bag. The cod was dry and measly. dissapointing after being such a long term local customer.

Nice little place. Very kind and friendly staff
105 Parnell Street, City Centre North, Dublin
I was here before and i enjoyed my meal. So i decided to buy a voucher because I thought it would be good value. However I was not greeted pleasantly as each customer should. Staff were rude and unenthusiastic. The food and the service was just as bad. I will not return.
3c Castle Street, South Dublin, Dalkey, Dublin
I am very surprised to see a lack of great reviews or this place. It is finally a really nice local chinese that I can go to knowing what to expect each time, which is great food great service and great value. I have been 5 times for the cook to order buffet. It never fails. 16Euro for all you ca eat from the very well varied menu. I can't falt this place. The interior is so modern and chic for a chinese. All together It's pretty impressive for a local chinese.

Zaytoon (Parliament Street)
14/15 Parliament Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
This is a really good place to get a fresh home made kebab in dublin. Freshly cooked bread, fresh selection of vegetables, tasty sauces. I'v been here twice and there is no place i'd rather go for a kebab then here. The staff are really friendly and generious with extra sauce and extra vegetable at no extra charge.
105 Parnell Street, City Centre North, Dublin
Came here with a friend for dinner after work one day. It was such a find. I am looking forward to trying again. We ordered ho fan beef noodles and steamed seabass. and boiled rice. All dishes were really nice. One thing I'l say is we got honey ribs to share. they cost about 5 Euro and there was really was not much meat on the bone at all!!!, which is not uncommon but they only gave us 3 ribs which I thought was bad for the size of them. The rest of the meal was excellent.

Beeftro - Dundrum
Pembroke District, Dundrum Town Centre , South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin
Four of us came here for for my mothers birthday lunch after some shopping. I had never really looked at the place until then. While walking past I noticed the sign for 10 euro steak lunch, It was absolutely delicious . The steak, fries, sauce and salad was all so fresh and went perfect together. I can't wait to return.
Mexico to Rome
23 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
I enjoyed my meal here and so did my friend. We found the staff to be very friendly and the food to be very tasty. It is very good value when you avail of the specials. I will return.
Musashi Noodles and Sushi Bar
15 Capel Street, Dublin 1 , City Centre North, Dublin
I come here for the lunch menu very affordable!
The Tower Bar & Bistro
The Waterside House Hotel, North Co. Dublin , Donabate, Dublin
Always go here and always happy leaving. Great daily deals. Otherwise we still go for what we want because prices are reasonable! High standard food great portion size and good atmosphere always! Would eat here every day if I could! My favourite place to eat
Eddie Rockets (Baggot Street)
33 Upper Baggot Street, Dublin 2, Baggot Street, Dublin
One of the cleanest eddie I've been too, apart from toilets terribly smelly. The staff always cleaning floor and counters. The food like all of the eddies was great value for money. Cheap eats to fill you up! Usually 35€ for two of us to be rolling out! Satisfied!
Kung Fu Buffet
Unit 2, Phibsboro Shopping Centre, Phibsborough Road, Phibsboro, Dublin
Cheap and very cheerful! For a buffet the food is always piping hot and constantly fresh and flowing. The staff always cleaning and never letting anything run low. The dry salt and chilli king prawns in shell are my fav. They have great choice for a small restaurant. I can't fault it for a tenner! Unbelievable value! Beats any fast food chain by miles. Absolute value! Mmm ice cream machine cakes and jelly to top it off!
TGI Friday (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin
75€ for two people. Not including deserts. Two mains, sharing starter, garlic bread and two drinks. Not impressed with the bill and the food over all. Get better in any other restaurant for a better price. Quality food not great considering the prices. I will never return. I'd rather give my money to somewhere that provide better value. Overrated franchise
Unit 4, 1 st Floor , Main Street , Swords, Dublin
Both of us came here for a voucher for 2 for only 30€. Reading the reviews we both had little expectations of this place. The deal offered 5 courses each, from start to finish we were impressed. The staff were good the food was great but the decor let down the experience as a whole. We look forward to returning. The food was quality and quantity! Very impressed with a little place like that. Hats off to the chef
China Buffet King
Cinema Building, Dundrum Town Centre, Sandyford Road, Dundrum, Dublin
I'v ate here 3 times each time was as good as the last. I'v had both the normal lunch time buffet and the grand dinner buffet. Of course the grand buffet was much better in quality and choice. but both were extremely enjoyable and a true bargain. It is the best quality for chinese buffet food. The staff are excellent and the place is very clean. I would completely recommend going for the grand buffet for true value. The New Zealand green mussels, sea food yuk sung and aromatic duck was lovely.
Yamamori Sushi, Tengu
38-39 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
Been here twice and both times were very enjoyable. It's a total new experience and very cutting edge compared to the usual if you get me? I am a huge fan of sushi so of course I ordered that twice. Maki rolls and california rolls.. both were good i'v had worse but had better. What I would really recommend would be their ramens, they are really delicious. I don't think the prices are that fair for the food but It's all about the experience, atmosphere and good service included as well. I would go every now and again. It's very enjoyable.
China House (Parnell Street)
180 Parnell Street, City Centre North, Dublin
I absolutely love this place. It was such a great find. The prices are incredibly fair and the food is top quality. It's menu is very traditional and also very authentic. Every time I come here I always have to try something new because the menu is full of exciting new dishes that other places don't offer. Sometimes I'm afraid to try new dishes in the case of disappointment however here I try something new each time i visit. I have been here about 6 times already, I would probably be here everyday for dinner if I lived close to the city but unfortunately not. The interior is like street diner cafes that i'v been in hong kong so not much is to be expected from the interior but the atmosphere, food and service is especially good so usually I would rather eat here than go to a fancier restaurant no matter what time of day. It's just faultless.
Yindees @ Lyrath Estate Hotel
Paulstown Road, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny
This was my first time eating here and hopefully not my last. I ordered spicy prawns and calimari. It was very tasty. It came with sweet chilli sauce. I found it very enjoyable. After my started I then wanted to change my main course because I had noticed that that too came with sweet chilli sauce and It again was a prawn dish (silly me). The waitress was more than happy to change my pre ordered main course. I didn't feel uneasy about it at all. The staff made us feel very relaxed and comfortable, they were the key to a relaxing dining experience. The main course that I ended up having was yindees duck. I was thrilled with my choice and the duck was so tender and had no fat on it. My dessert was a well put together exotic fruit salad, It was very enjoyable after having a big dinner with big tastes. The fruits were completely fresh and sweet and the presentation was skillful. I was happy with the over all experience and left with a smile.
10 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
I came here with a group of roughly 12 people. Honestly It's no great shakes! First off I found the staff a bit rude and snobby. The food was only average. I had the fish cakes to start. They were only ok. Home made chicken kiev for main course and this lacked in taste. I also had mash with my kiev. The mash was nice nothing to comment about. Because of the absolute lack of ..well....anything. I didn't bother ordering a dessert. After the dinner I just had no comment. simple as that. It was just like, eat it ...and whatever. It was just... like nothing. Should I have to elaborate on it it was just like an average home cooked dinner I guess. Over all because everything was ultimately only average and the prices were truely unjustifiable I will not return.
8 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Cheap eats with expensive price! The food is very poor, both in quality and taste. I swear, I ordered bbq ribs and got bones drenched in brown bbq sauce.... confusing really. I really wouldnt mind but for the price, it's just crazy!? It's truely food for when your drunk..... But then again what isn't! Then try it when stone cold sober,I think they get their chips about right!?
Unit 11/18 Belgard Square, Tallaght Town Centre, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin
I ate here with two others last sat night. The place was decorated beautifully and so my expectations were high. The staff were friendly and not too over powering :). Once we were seating a jug of water and glasses were automatically served to us without having asking. I appreciated this because I sometimes prefare tap water to bottled, depending. I ordered to share the combo starter for 15E , It was really nice and the portions were generous. We enjoyed it a lot and were almost full already. So expectations were living up! For main course I ordered the rice noodles with sea food. It came out and It looked a bit sloppy, It tasted ok, just a little bland even though there was so many different things all mixed together I couldn't identify what I was eating half the time. The sea food was generous however , which I did like. So the main course was so so pretty much average you know. So I was a little bit disappointed because my expectations were pretty high.... maybe I ordered the wrong thing I'm not sure. One of the diners with me seemed to enjoy her main course a lot more than my other friend and I. Next time I think I'll play it safe and get a common dish like chili chicken or a black bean. The food was nice , the service was high and the atmosphere was very pleasant and superior. I was very thankful to the waiters always topping up the water with a smile without having to ask. I would give it four out of five!
Pizza Hut (Liffey Valley)
Liffey Valley Centre 22 Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin
I went for dinner with a friend here on friday. We both got the offer any 3 course for 15e. We were very pleased! We both got the portabella mushrooms to start they were so nice, cooked perfectly. To the table came two large portabello mushrooms on our plate. So it was a huge portion. I think they were roughly 7 euro on the menu alone. For main course we both ordered pizza I made my own with about 4 toppings and my friend ordered a set one, on the menu. which alone on the menu was 11 euro! and for desert she ordered profitas she really enjoyed them they were approx 7 euro on the menu me thinks. and finally I ordered the ice cream factory out of curiousity, It was great I felt like a kid again! All well worth 30 euro, we rolled out of the place with smiles. haha
The Alamo Restaurant
22 Temple Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin
I ate here before going to temple bar's organic market. The place is very small and squashed. The service it decent enough. The food was alright nothing great but nothing to complain about, only its a bit of a rip off for what your getting but hey it's in temple bar I wasn't expecting it to be cheap anyways. I'm not that into mexican food so I wouldn't have a great opinion on it anyways, but the people I came with were pleased enough with the food, apart from the price seemed unjustifiable.
Good World Chinese Restaurant
18 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
I ate here on sunday. The food on the normal chinese menu was not very good compared to many other restaurants around. But the dim sum and real chinese food menu was a delight. The canto duck is very lean and tasty. I would come again but only for the dim sum menu
Victoria Asian Cuisine
5A The Cresent, South Co. Dublin , Monkstown, Dublin
Came here tonight with my mother, and we were both delighted to find such a little gem of a place! I haven't been to such a nice restaurant in a long time. I walked in and the interior took me by suprise. wow a chinese with style oh it has lovely decor altogether. The place had a gorg atmosphere and i can't wait to go back, the food was great, They have a really good chef to offer good quality tastey food. Everything , down to the table clothes was classy and modern. haha. The plates/ dishes were presented on lovely stands aswell were the chopsticks. It just had every little touch to show thought and consideration into their presentation. We had all you can each for 25 euro a head from the a la carte menu, brilliant! yum yum. I was also delighted to see dim sum on the menu.!
Green Dragon Well
Unit 13, Killiney Shopping Centre, Rochestown Ave, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
I'v been here about 3 times in the passed two months. We always go for the 10 euro lunch deal because it's just a total steal. It's ok food for a fantastic price and I always leave with a full belly and a smile. For 10E ya can't complain. I'd recommend the 10euro lunch deal to anyone in the area. If the food quality is the same for the A la carte menu then maybe I'd be a bit more hesitant. But thumbs up for the lunch menu.
Siam Thai (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin
I came here with my family, we really enjoyed it. I got the platter to share for starters of which i thought was a bit on the pricey side, it was tasty but the quality was not the best. I ordered prawn with cashew nut for my main course of which i milled down, the price again was a bit high but for the quality and size of the prawns i thought it was a fair deal. The food over all was delicious and i will come back. Service was a little slow but that did not both me too much. Over all it was a good exerpience. Next time i want to treat myself i may come here :)
The Bloody Stream Restaurant
Under Howth Dart Station, North Dublin, Howth, Dublin
I ate here on a Sunday afternoon after visiting the organic market. I had the Dublin bay prawns (18.50E),they were enjoyable and were cooked nicely. The prawns were a nice big size and where cooked in butter, usually I wouldn't go for prawns in butter but i would get them again. Only thing was i thought it was a bit pricey. The inside was a bit cramped and it was impossible to have a private conversation.
La Perla @ Lyrath Estate Hotel
Paulstown Road, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny
This was my second time going to la perla. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This time it was even better. My friend and I had decided to share the starters. We ordered the portabello mushrooms and the goats cheese tartlet. They were both very nice and beautifully presented. We really enjoyed the two of them. For my main I ordered the shellfish saffron risotto. My god it was amazing! Definately one of my favourite dishes I'v ever had. I couldn't say a bad word about it. Oh and the portion was very generious. Some how I managed to order a third course - dessert, mainly throught curiosity but when It came you'd think I'd never been fed! The pavlova was light and airy with a wonderful chew inside. The staff were friendly and happily offered their recommendations. I look forward to my return.
Spurs Family Restaurant
U42 Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Liffey Valley, Liffey Valley, Dublin
I ate here yesterday with two others. My ribs were all bone and no meat with the smallest dabbing of bbq sauce, and the rest of the plate was filled with greasy oil tasting chips! Not impressed. My friends chicken was over cooked, dry and stringy again with the rest of her plate over loaded with greasy hard chips.. And the other dish .......(faijitas) ,apparently the tortilla wraps were hard as if they had been left out to harden over night, and the salad bowl was full of hard grated cheese with a few leafs of salad. The faijitas cost 16 euro for basically some stir fried onion and pepper, unfresh tortilla wraps and old cheese. It was such a rip off. I thought I was getting a good deal 16 E for ribs and chips, while my friend was only getting vegetable wraps but no i basically payed 16 euro for a plate of greasy chips same as my other friend with the chicken. It was extremely disspointing and unfortunately i will never return again. I came here once a few weeks ago and I ordered 10oz ribs and chips and they were gr8 loads of soft meat that fell off the bone, nice chips and side bbq sauce on the plate, i really enjoyed it thats why i ordered the same yesterday :( . This time no way, It was completely different as if it was a different resaurant!!! I will not chance it ever again cause its simply too expensive if again i end up paying 16E for a plate of greasy chips. The staff are friendly and the seating arrangements are spacious enough however the bottomless drinks hmmm..... It's like, watered down coke, with a slightly smokey taste if that makes sense :S .
Jasmine House Chinese
85 Main Street, Bray, Wicklow
I don't like this place and i will not be returning. The food was below average, and especially the desert- I ordered a fruit salad and it was actually from a can of fruit coctail and there was carton orange juice poured into my fruit salad bowl.It was the worste desert i have ever had in my life! The Interior is so run down and old fashioned, I know that chinese resaurants never have the nicest matching interior with clashing colours haha but this was just so dark and dingey . The only nice thing about this place is that the staff are friendly and very welcoming, thats about it.
Rickshaw Chinese Restaurant
Kill Lane, Dublin 18, Deansgrange, Dublin
I think this place is nice. The portions are pretty good. The quality of the food is not the worste yet it is still not the best i have had in this area of cuisine. I wouldn't return as its nothing special so i would prefare to try some place else. all in all not bad, but not the best.
55 Georges Street Lower, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
Miami cafe has been around for as long as I can remember and it hasn't changed one bit. The food has always kept up and has always been my fav chipper in dun L . As far as a chipper goes its deffo one of my favourites around. Yeah i like the place. Its a lot nicer than some of the famous chippers.
Brady's Pub, Shankill, Shankill, Dublin
I ate here with a large group of people we were all seated up stairs and basically took up the whole top room so was away from everyone else so that was good for a party booking. The food was ok, the interior was a bit out dated and the staff were ok. The place has price rates similar to those with higher standards. The food is good enough for a take away but for a restaurant with those prices i think it was a bit unfair. Nevertheless the food is edible with nice sauces. The meats could be of better quality.
Eddie Rockets (Blackrock)
Main Street, Blackrock, Blackrock, Dublin
This place is such a rip off. prices are extremely high for fast food quality. . I had taken away food from here before and the food was so so soggy perhaps from the condensation from the packaging so just to advise everyone don't take away the food it becomes too soggy. Then again i wouldnt sit in either cause the food is still soggy but with grease.Everything is so unnecessarily greasy even for a fast food like place.
Castle Chinese Restaurant
3C Castle Street, Dalkey, Dalkey, Dublin
I like this place, its my favourite chinese in the dalkey area. I think its has very nice dishes with above average standards. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, they are So nice. The place has some authentic asian decor of which I love to see when eating out in a chinese restraunt. I would like to return in the near future.
Mao Restaurant (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin
I like this place alot.I eat here occasionaly The place is very clean and modern with a nice atmosphere. the toilets are really cool and very clean especially for busy hours. The menu is plentyf ull . and the food is good quality and is also very tasty. The presentation of the dishes is proffessional and delicate. the lunch menu offers great courses for a fair price. The staff are quick and friendly. Some of the chefs are asian themselves so thats a good sign. I have been here a couple of times as with the one in dun laoghaire. I have left many a times full and pleased. I will definately return again..
Dundrum Town Centre Dundrum, Dundrum, Dublin
Great atmosphere for a few drinks and food. Nice interior, cleanliness very good. food is nice but too pricey for what you get, service is very very very slow. I was starting to think i was invisible.
Mao Restaurant (Dun Laoghaire)
The Pavillion, South Co, Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
I had been to this Mao a few times before. For me this place is a total hit or miss. I went once more and this will be my last. My fellow diner and I went for the lunch menu, which was something like 13/14 euro PP . We both felt that it was a rip off for the quality but most of all the quantity. For starters we both got the wasabi crab cakes. They really were stingy on the crab there might as well had been none in it. It was one greasy small crab cake served with some room temp mayo. They completely missed the wasabi factor altogether. For mains I got vegetables with udon noodles and to fu. It was a tiny bowl of noodles with literally a few shreds of over cooked carrot, red onion and a speckle of To Fu. I mean come on for a vegetarian dish I felt more vegetables would have only be decent. It was really a steal for them getting what ever I paid for serving those dishes.
17 Railway Road, South Co. Dublin, Dalkey, Dublin
I have been coming here for many many years with my family. We really love it here and always have. The prices are dear but the quality is excellent so we keep it for our special family occassions. It's one of my favourite places to go. The exterior is beautifully presented with flowers and a warm welcoming. The interior is a little small but this keeps it warm, cosy and quiet. It's sea food is a must most of it having come from the fresh waters of dalkey. The duck is one of my favourites so i would highly recommend it for those who don't like seafood. The price is high but again the amount of meat and lack of duck fat makes up for it best duck i have had. Its tender and very tasty with it's apriocot sauce. All the dishes here ( have tried most of them) are full of richness and quality. I can't wait to go back.
Bits and Pizzas
15 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
I ate here with a friend after some shopping. I got a pizza, my friend got pasta. My pizza was nice, I have eaten in places with much better value for price. The interior is ok for lunch time but for dining i don't think its one to set the mood. Its very simple and cafe like. They do delivery service of which i would most likely to not order from, as i would much prefare to order from take away pizza for more taste. Two word for this place - plain/pricey!
YO Sushi (Dundrum)
Level 1, Unit 26A, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin
I ate here a couple of times the sushi is alright, nothing great. I can make much better myself! Sometimes the ingredients don't seem fresh enough. However the deep fried prawns were very delicious. I find it a bit pricey for a place with average sushi and not a proper restaurant. I have been places with nice fresher food japanese food and with proper setting and waiters at similar cost. I would not go back unless the prices were reduced and then i may take away.
Toscana (Dun Laoghaire)
5 Windsor Terrace, South Co. Dublin , Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
I came here one night with 7 others for a birthday dinner. We really enjoyed it. Everyone was pleased with the standard of food. The interior was very cosy and warm, the lighting was soft, setting a nice atmoshpere. The staff very extremely friendly and charming. They were very kind to celebrate the birthday with a cake and singing. We had a great time and a lovely dinner. The prices are very fair and the location is at a great spot close to the dart and parking across the road. I plan to return soon.
