Jack O'Rourkes restaurant
Main Street, Blackrock, Dublin, Area Code:
Reviewed 03rd February 2010 ( visited 23rd December 2009 )Came here on my lunch from work, and it just hit the spot! Lovely cosy atmosphere where we sat beside the fire and were really able to relax. Had a toasted ham and cheese sanwich with chips - good pub grub. The staff were lovely and they even gave us lollipops as we were leaving!
La Caverna Restaurant & Wine Bar

Reviewed 03rd February 2010 ( visited 15th December 2009 )We go here every year for our anniversary, and have always found it lovely, although if it wasnt tradition maybe we wouldnt keep going on account of the reducing quality of service. The food is always lovely, they do the steak very well, maybe not pasta - they dont use Italian recipes, more adaptions of these. The staff have always been nice, if not a bit hard to get hold of, especially in the last year or two. The restaurant itself is set on 3 floors, very cosy and has a lovely atmosphere. The value for money is great, the bill is never unexpectadly high.
Taste of Brazil, Cozinha Brasileira
32 Parliament St, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
We had a tasting menu voucher and all of the food on the menu was delicious. One of us has an allergy and staff were very accommodating -although the kitchen is not specialised to deal with allergies, they did their best to swap any dishes for suitable alternatives. The staff were really friendly and chatty, and there was a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant.
Radhuni Indian Restaurant
8a The Crescent, Monkstown, Dublin
Came here with a voucher which included food for 2 with wine. We arrived and found that the restaurant was very nicely decorated, and that there were quite a few people eating there. Pity about the awful waiter we had serving us - who also appeared to be the manager/owner. We ordered our food - onion bhaji to share and then a special biryani and chicken tikka masala with rice. When I asked for rice with it, the waiter rudely laughed at me and said that the rice is included, I didn't need to order seperatly. Hence my surprise when my dinner arrived with no rice! Needless to say my sauce was cold by the time I got any rice. The food was ok, if a little greasy. The voucher we had with us included two glasses of wine, so we looked at the wine list and ordered two house rose wines. Our waiter took the order without telling us that only house white or red wine was included- we only found out after the wine was brought to the table. We had to ask for water 4 times!! - and finally got it when we were nearly finished our main course. This was the worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant, and I will not be back.
15 Stephen Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Had dinner here the other night with my family, and it was absolutely gorgeous. We went for early bird which is 27 for 4 courses. Everyone loved their food. I had duck roll for starter, served on a small bed of noodles, yummy! and lamb for main course, it was one of the nicest pieces of meat i ever tasted. I look forward to returning here!
Diep le Shaker
55 Pembroke Lane, (Off Pembroke Street), Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went here in a large group of 17 for a birthday. The atmosphere was lovely but food was only ok across the board. The bill ended up being very expensive for what we got, no sort of concession or thanks for the very large bill being payed. The thing that really irked us was when a bottle of champagne was sent from a friend and the hostess offered strawberries to go with it (in the nature of offering milk with a coffee). As they were being offered in such a way the strawberries were accepted graciously. We were shocked to see that 6 euro was added to the already large bill for the strawberries! for maybe 5 or 6 strawberries. Considering the bill was already so large we felt that this was a bit much.
Eddie Rockets (Donnybrook)
Main Street, Dublin 4, Donnybrook, Dublin
Great hangover food (greasy, tasty, hits the spot). Had large coke, no ice, but it was seriously watered down and horrible taste. Very expensice for what you get. As they say "Eddie Rockets, empty your pockets".
Meeting House Square, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
We went here for a Valentine's weekend meal and were not impressed. We arrived to a cosy restaurant filled with Italian customers and staff - good sign. We waited for 20 minutes to see a menu and had to ask twice for one. Service was as slow for the rest of the night, the staff just didnt seem interested in us at all and just spent their time speaking to the Italian customers - us outsiders obviously werent worth their while. We were also laughed at rudely when declined black peper which was 'recommended if eating italian'. I ordered steak and wanted the potatoes with rosemary to go with it but they had finished with them by this time (9pm), so had to do with a big slab of meat for dinner with no side! Other food was fine but very expensive for what it was. Will certainly not return.
Yo Thai (Mount Merrion)
Kielys Of Mount Merrion, Deerpark Road, South Co. Dublin, Mount Merrion, Dublin
This place is a nice surprise, order to sit at the TeppanYaki table, the chef cooks the food in front of you and really puts on a show! Food is gorgeous, this place is lovely and good for a bit of entertainment!

Rickshaw Chinese Restaurant
Kill Lane, Dublin 18, Deansgrange, Dublin
I love this restaurant! We usually go in a group of 4 or 5 and we always have a lovely evening. The restaurant itself is lovely and even when full you don't feel too close to other tables. The service is brilliant, lovely staff who are very attentive. The food is so lovely, especially my favourite - teriyake beef. Food is always fresh and hot, and all arrive at the same time - kitchens are obviously well organised. No rushing us out after we've eaten, they don't mind us sitting over our wine for a while afterwards, and sometimes even bring us extra drinks on the house!

Baan Thai (Leopardstown)
Central Park, Block P, Dublin 18, Leopardstown, Dublin
For such an unusual location in the middle of an industrial estate this is a gorgeous restaurant with lovely decoration. I you have a group going get a booth in the middle, the tables near windows get quite chile. The staff are lovely, and the food gorgeous! They use lovely fresh ingredients - very tasty food with a good wine list too! The only think I would say is the tiny portions for starters and measly amount of rice given - quite a small bowl to share between 4 while being charged for 4 portions of rice. We always have to order - and pay for - more rice! Other than that, one of my favourite restaurants!
34-35 South William Street, South William Street, Dublin
Brilliant service and delicious food. Went to to celebrate exam results, by 8 o clock the place was buzzing. unfortunately I got a bad headache while we were there. We had a lovely starter, by then I felt quite awful so we decided to leave. The concerned waiter asked if there was anything he could do, and packed our uneaten food up for us to have later, adding in extra naan bread for us! Was pleasantly surprised by this service! when i finally ate my food it was very tasty. I'll definately be returning!
Kudos Restaurant (IFSC)
Clarion Hotel Dublin, IFSC, City Centre North, Dublin
Lovely food, not so nice atmosphere. Maybe I was unlucky the evening I went here with my boyfriend as there was a rugby match on. the restaurant is part of a hotel, in which a lot a rowdy scottish supporters were staying. At the tables all around us were very drunk men, actually falling over of their chairs! the other problem is the toilets. you have to walk out and through a few doors to get to the toilets, which are part of the hotel, as there werent any specifically for the restaurant. it just seemed quite awkward! Other than that the food was nice, staff were lovely. I'll plan my visit ahead next time!
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin
This location is not on a par with any other Milanos I have been in. The waitor seemed to forget about us, and we had to keep calling him. Got the garlic dough balls which are usually nice but this time burnt, and pizza for main which was fine. Dissappointing
