Reviewed 06th January 2007 ( visited 06th January 2007 )Nice! The menu has not changed in the last 10 years. Sunday lunch is very good value. Restaurant really needs a facelift. Food a hit and miss sometimes.
Main Street, Rush, Co Dublin, Rush, Dublin
I have eaten here a few times and the food is terrible. The staff are really nice but the food tastes like it has been cooked earlier and reheated in the microwave in a sauce. Not in a million years would I go again. The food on the Sunday carvery is bland and overcooked. Stir clear.
Blue Cafe Bar
Harbour Road Skerries, Skerries, Dublin
The venue itself is lovely with spectacular views however the food really lets the place down. I must say that the Buffallo wings are a firm favourite of mine, however everytime I go in they seem to have hiked the price of it up, so they are now at €11-ish, although I haven't been in for a while so that could have gone up! The rest of the food is average at above average prices. I have no problem paying €24 for a steak, in a restaurant where service is prompt and you are provided with napkins & all the other niceties that go along with it, the but not in a pub. I once ordered the 'gourmet' cheese burger. Apparently nowadays an easy single is considered gourmet! Most of the time the service can be good, however that too is also subject to change without notice! But as a venue for a drink on a summers day it's fine! Just don't forget to take out a mortgage if you're going to eat!
6 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Ate here for Brunch on Sunday. Food was very nice and well presented. Good value for money and their wine list is very good. Service was very attentive but (as is mentioned before) we never had the same waiter once. The decor is really, really nice. Atmosphere was a little poor but there were only 12 other people in the restaurant at the time. Will be booking for an evening meal as the evening menu looks very good.
55, Main Street, Rush, Rush, Dublin
Being a great lover of Indian food my friends and I decided to give the Bombay Bistro a try. The food was excellent. The staff were very nice and catered to our every whim. But what really impressed the most was their great wine list. We had 4 bottles of wine. A Chateau Renard Mondesir from Fronsac in France, excellent wine. A Grand Cru St Emilion called Jean Voisin, also amazing. A house White and a White Bergerac, very good value for money. Will be back to try the rest of the wines on their list paired with their excellent food. Well done and keep it up!!
7 Anglesea Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Very entertaining to watch your food being cooked. Only problem is it all taste the same. Restaurant layout is very poor, like my school cafeteria. Twice at a push! Never again.
Oscar Taylor Restaurant
Island View Hotel, Coast Road, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin
A big turnover on a Saturday nite. This place use to be one of my favourites. Cattle market now. Food has suffered due to large turnover. Service could be better. Like the bar next to the restaurant.
Indie Spice Grill
Burgundy House, New Street, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin
A little hard to find. Very very good value lunch menu. Really nice food. Excellent service. My favourite herbal tea is served here. Go here often. Very nice.
Chatham Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Like this restaurant, food has always been good. Good selection of wine by the glass. Service a little slow. Not a bad menu. Worth a go.
Shanahan’s on the Green
119 St. Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin
Best steak I have ever eaten in the world. An amazing beef jus. Service is second to none. I doubt anybody could eat a starter, main course and dessert. Portions are very big. Little on the expensive side, but I reckon you get value for your money. A must for any steak lover.
Ming Court Chinese Restaurant
Unit 453 Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Blanchardstown, Dublin
Ok! Food sometimes can be a little bland. Very noisy and a bit like a cattle market at the weekends. Would give it a five out of ten. Have eaten here quite a lot in the past but would not be returning. There are much better Chinese restaurants out there.
Siam Thai (Malahide)
1 The Green, North Dublin, Malahide, Dublin
Nice food. A little bit on the pricey side for what you actually get. Good wine list and very good service. Worth a try.
Sopranos Ristorante Italiano
Main Street (Above Michael Collins Pub), Rush, Rush, Dublin
The food here is going down in quality and the price is going up. This place use to be very good but recently the food has been very poor. The pizza toppings are getting very small. Tiger prawns for example instead of the usual 5 are being cut in half. Pasta is plain and sauces are tasteless. The wine list is very poor also and could really do with a change. A shame for somewhere I used to eat in all the time.
54 Strand Street, Skerries, Dublin
Very cosy little place. Nice pizza. Had a steak here a few times, always overcooked. A little bit pricey for what you get. I wouldn't be running back here.
The Market Bar
Fade Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Very nice place to eat. The tapas are excellent. Really like the bottles of Normandy cider they sell here. Good value for money. Give it a try.
