Let me just start by saying I LVE the wine cellar - it's great! I read a great review of their restaurant in the lit up to the toilets and thought I'd book a lunch there. I arrived for about 1.30 and I asked if I could sit by the window - they said that it was only for parties of 4 and as I was a party of 2 I'd have to sit elsewhere - that got me off to the wrong start as the table - although set was left vacant for my entire time there and we had to sit excluded from the other groups of people! The food was average at best - the wine as ever was very nice. Not great value was not a happy camper but having said that I still frequent the cellar and that amazing deli store!

The Port House Ibericos
5/6 Pembroke Cottage, Pembroke District, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

This place never fails to give out tasty tapas and delicious wine! Always buzzing with people no matter what night of the week either.. The Mussels and platter of cheese and meats is a must as were all of the dishes I had the last time. I wish I could go there every night...

Cortina’s Mexican Restaurant
The Pembroke District, Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin

A bright cheery venue with nice efficient staff. The food was tasty and generous sized portions... more variety on the lunch specials would have me back there more often

Panem
Ha'penny Bridge House, 21 Lower Ormond Quay, City Centre North, Dublin

Always a pleasure to come here - freshly baked breads always yummy the spinach & cheese foccacia a favourite as is the salad and the coffee great - love dropping in here but not often enough! Shame it doesn't open before 9am as would love to get my morning coffee and croissant here on way into work

The Port House

Wines delicious, service prompt & tapas oh the tapas each better than the last - fresh ingredients & not too small in size either - I'll be queueing up to return

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I came here for brunch & they know how to do eggs! The eggs Benedict was delicious although they say it's with para ham it was actually with Rashers, the eggs with salmon was also top standard - the biggest drawback was that the coffee was out of a flask & as such I was under the impression refills were free but in fact it was 3 euro a cup although the menu said coffee was 2.50 so the bill was hefty as a result and the coffee tepid which is a big let down if like me u need it to kick start the afternoon!

Citron @ Fitzwilliam Hotel
The Fitzwilliam Hotel, St Stephen's Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I've been here twice - the 1st time was a big let down given the price the buffalo mozzarella salad had a tiny piece of the former mentioned cheese & cheap olives out of a jar however the staff were very nice. The second time I came I got the trout salad and I must say it was delicious as was my friend's feta panini - it was cooked to perfection with lots of quality ingredients - the cappuccinos were also really nice, staff are great & it's quite laid back.

Yamamori Sushi, Tengu
38-39 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

had often been to George's Street branch but this one is surprisingly large bright & airy - great atmosphere, staff kind & obliging and the food was prompt & up to the usual dependable standard, the bento bos was great but disappointed they didn't do some of the Norimyaki dishes at lunch time but will certainly consider going back again!!

First Floor Bar & Brasserie @ Harvey Nichols
Dundrum Town Centre, Sandyford Road, Dundrum, Dublin

This restaurant must have the best service in Dublin without fail - each time I visit it's great. Food cooked to perfection reasonably priced for it's standard & great wine selection.

Vermilion
94-96 Terenure Road, Dublin 6 , Terenure, Dublin

Had fond memories of this restaurant from 4 years ago & it didn't disappoint! Popadoms came with lovely coconut & carrot mix, sizzler starter for two was hot & spicy & well marinaded and the main course was good wholesome Indian with lean meat!! Will be back soon

Siam Thai (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin

Really pleasantly surprised. The lunch menu was huge with offers of either 10 euro for a bento box or a 2 course lunch. The food tasted great I had the platter for 1 as a starter the honey prawns were huge and the main course was spicy in the way that good Thai should be but with the rich creamy taste of coconut milk in the red curry showing quality ingredients & flavour - can't wait to go back again!

Samsara - No longer serving food.
36 Dawson Street, Dawson Street, Dublin

Welcoming service, starters goats cheese tart and mains of steak delicious although a lot of salt on chips I prefer to season myself. All of the food clearly fresh & made to order. A pleasant surprise for a bar restaurant.

The Strawberry Tree-Brooklodge

The Counter Dundrum
Pembroke District, (adjacent to the Mill Pond at Town Square), Dundrum, Dublin

The burgers were great the guacamole, sundried tomatoes, ranch sauce and honey bun were all spectacular only problem was that the fries went cold really quickly as the place was freezing - oh yes the Malts were great too!! Will be back there again but with 2 jumpers on this time and without the fries!

profile_review

Thai Orchid (Dublin)
7 Westmoreland Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I used to come here all the time a few years back so was looking forward to my visit. The early bird was good value the starter was nice and the beef honey chili with cashew was also really nice - the noodles were cold when they arrived but once highlighted the staff kindly sorted that out for us. It was value for money but I fear like most restaurants the standard of food has dropped slightly in accordance with the prices. Next time I'll try the a la carte rather than the early bird.

My Thai
The Beacon Hotel, Beacon Court, Dublin 18, Sandyford, Dublin

We went for an early bird after work the staff were pleasant and attentive, the main course was really good the seafood sizzler had some lovely seafood and a generous helping - the noodles were very tasty - the coffee was great and the dessert was a generous helping - will definitely be back again!

profile_review

Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

We arrived late but they gave us a table no problem. The main courses and the smoothies were really nice - not mad on the fries the oil needed a change but apart from that the staff were friendly, helpful and the place was spotlessly clean.

profile_review

Cafe Mimo (Dundrum)
House of Fraiser, Dundrum Town Centre, Dundrum, Dublin

I went for a late breakfast with a friend, we got a nice table and was plesantly surprised to find the Cafe away from shoppers passing by which made it a nice escape! I had French toast with maple syrup - it was light fluffy and delicious - the nicest I've ever had, the cappuccinos and lattes were lovely and the staff were polite! Only thing is that u have to go up to the register if u wnat to pay by credit card - Dying to try the salmon bagel with cream cheese next time!!

profile_review

The Exchequer
3-5 Exchequer Street, City Centre South, Dublin

i've been here a few times I had the duck salad well made and promptly served and the cheese and charcuterie board - cheese and meats great and the fig puree that comes with it is devine although best suited to stronger cheeses but carrs water biscuits take from it that's my only criticism. The staff are consistently friendly and obliging and if they keep that up along with their intelligent wine list they will go a long way!!

profile_review

Gourmet Burger Kitchen - GBK (South William Street)
14 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I got there early was instantly seated and served as ever the food was delicious and excellent the lunch time specials are very encouraging and it was very busy with a great atmosphere - I'll be back there again really soon.

profile_review

The Marble City Tearooms @ Langtons House Hotel
68 High Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

I was really disappointed with this place having heard so many great reviews! We had a couple of hot chocolates which arrived at different times and as my friend was vegetarian she asked for a vegetarian sandwich which came with some lettuce tomato and mayonnaise! We had the Ice cream selection for desert which was fine but the experience was tarnished at that stage.

profile_review

Wagamama - Stephen's Green
St Stephen's Green Centre, South King St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

As ever the place was heaving with people buzzing around and chatting. However the service was still prompt, friendly, fast and efficient. It's great to go to a place where the food is so fresh and healthy yet delicious... I hadn't enough room left for dessert but perhaps I'll have to go back again to see if I'll do it this time!!

profile_review

In Cahoots Cafe, Guesthouse & Apartments
166-168 Parnell Street, City Centre North, Dublin

I often come to this coffee shop which is clean cosy with great cappucinos salads paninis pastries basically anything you fancy to go with your tea or coffee if u want to slip away from the madness to have a quirt read of the paper or a chat with your friend. I;m a regular and will be back soon.

profile_review

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK South Anne Street)
5 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

The staff were very nice but not very efficient - they made us wait to clean lots of tables and put us sitting far away from anyone else so the atmosphere seemed lacking. Then they gave us our food with no cutlery then forgot to give us the dips for the food. The food as ever tasted great though and the staff were very nice if we needed anything!

profile_review

The Saddle Room @ The Shelbourne
The Shelbourne Hotel, 27 St Stephen's Green, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

I was there for lunch with a couple of friends. Service excellent and staff very attentive, food was nice - nothing extraordinary but plenty of it and presented well and the atmosphere was great - lots of relaxed well looked after staff and customers alike.

profile_review

Aqua Restaurant
1 West Pier, Howth, Dublin 13, Howth, Dublin

The atmosphere was quite relaxed, the view from our table was spectacular only negatives was that the restaurant was very cold and the butter rock hard. The food was delicious - the risotto was excellent, the salad with the tiger prawns was delicious, the scallops were cooked to perfection. The service was prompt the price was a tad high but that's because we chose the a la cart and opted not to go for the very reasonable lunch menu

profile_review

Pinocchio Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar
Luas Kiosk, Ranelagh Village, Dublin 6, Ranelagh, Dublin

The service was slow but the staff were very nice... the atmosphere, wine, coffee and desserts were fantastic. The bruscetta is from homemade crusty bread and the quality of the ingredients is what makes simple food feel like heaven! Will be going back to try their cheeses next tim!!

profile_review

The Gallery Restaurant at the Church
Junction of Mary St. & Jervis St., Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

There was a large group of us there for dinner all in fancy dress. The staff were nice and in the Halloween atmosphere, the wine was nice and a reasonable price but the food was a disappointment having heard such great reviews, particularly the desserts no one really liked them - bread and butter pudding was wierd and the chocolate cake would have been better had it been warmed. Other than that a great venue!

profile_review

Eddie Rockets (Parnell Centre)
Parnell Centre, City Centre North, Dublin

We went there as a group of 8 - luckily we got two booths together so we could all be together. The food as ever was really great particularly the malt shake but one person didn't get their burger until we were almost finished ours - I thought an offer of a complimentary drink could have been the least offered but nothing was said apart from a limp apology, but everything was great - although a bit on the pricey side - almost 5 euro for fries with some mayo on top?? A lunch deal would be a great idea.

profile_review

Dunne And Crescenzi (South Frederick Street)
14-16 South Frederick Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I went with two friends for work - the service was slow and I was getting a bit agitated but once the staff came they were very attentive very kind and very helpful - the wine was the best I've tasted in an Italian in quite some time and the food portions were generous - I accidentally left something behind and soon after I realised I called and they kindly put it aside for my collection the following day - I'll be back there again very soon!

profile_review

Coppinger Row
Coppinger Row, off South William St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Very disappointing! I had heard such great things about the place I was excited about going for a late lunch with a nice bottle of wine. The Bean soup tasted like wallpaper paste but for the pieces of chorizo in it although the bread was nice. The overpriced bottle of Fleurie was extremely young (it's vintage was not shown on the menu which was misleading) the seabass salad was quite nice and the place itself had a great feel but the staff were curt with a forced politeness - unfortunately I won't be going back again.

profile_review

The Bank on College Green
20-22 College Green, City Centre South, Dublin

Really pleasantly surprised! I ordered a Duck Salad which had lots of meat nuts and dressing and a bottle of really nice Fleurie then the cheeseboard which was excellent! The place was hopping busy the girl who served us was incredibly nice and friendly will be back there again soon!

profile_review

Dante (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

The place was very quiet when we arrived I think it had just opened for the afternoon. I ordered a light starter Cashel Blue Stuffed Mushrooms which was just some runny mushrooms on a plate with two sprigs of lettuce the service took ages and my friend had eaten their food so there was no point in complaining - not a good experience I'm afraid!

profile_review

Milano (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Even though it was quite busy in Milano they quickly found us a table and made us feel relaxed and not rushed - the staff were friendly and attentive, the food was great the meat platter for 2 was really nice and the salads were great the wine was a little overpriced for the quality but the venue was great and would be very happy to go back again!

profile_review

Wallace's Taverna
24 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

I had a wonderful sunny evening here. We walked in and met by lots of friendly staff waiting to help without being over bearing. They took time to chat to us and helped us select a really nice wine and then a variety of small plates of cheese meat pesto and bruscetta. I couldn't believe that I was there for 3 hours! The value was great - quality food and wine with the staff knowing what regions in italy the food was selected from and with the knowledge of the producers too! I'll be back there before the week is out!

profile_review

Novo
Harry Street, St Stephens Green, Dublin

Loved the venue and the staff were really nice and friendly. The food was very good the chicken and beef were very tasty and the smoothie to order was very tasty! The only two drawbacks were that after looking forward to the famous novo fries and they were merely frozen chips no seasoning, not fries, not wedges just plain frozen chips! The wine was rather pricey for a very average vintage - though it was a big shame and a let down..

profile_review

Carluccio's Caffe
52 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

The food was delicious - top class ingredients the best mozarella i've tasted and the Risotto was too! The price for a panini although delicious is expensive bearing in mind all of the meal deals going on at other establishments and the lemonade again quite nice was expensive at 3.60 for a small glass! Restaurant was light and airy but noisy - the seats were packed so close together I kept banging my seat against the person behind me and vice versa. Service nice efficient friendly and the food came promptly.

profile_review

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

3 of us visited there and the place was hopping - great atmosphere, the tapas were okay some nice some greasy and not much to them but the service was prompt and friendly thought the spanish wine was over priced because I know how much it costs in Spain and it was table wine standard but the cocktails were well made,

profile_review

Thai House
21 Railway Road, South Co. Dublin, Dalkey, Dublin

A nice buzzing restaurant we walked into at 8.30 last night they are offering early bird rates all night. 2 had the early bird with 2 beers and 2 of us had from the main menu all dishes were delicious and the total bill was 80 euro pleasant staff prompt service and very friendly.

profile_review

Mao Restaurant (Chatham Row)
2-3 Chatham Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

i hadn't been to this branch in a couple of years and found that my favourite duck curry was removed from the menu - however upon asking if a particular chicken curry could have duck in it instead the waitress checked with the kitchen and for a nominal extra fee they said they would - thought this was very kind indeed - they make great cocktails the upstairs is big and spacious and a great time was had by all!

profile_review

Mao Restaurant (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Yesterday was quieter than the previous bustling day due to the hot weather but the staff were just as nice if a bit standoffish, the food was to it's usual high standard and with the current offers the value was great - always a nice visit there!

profile_review

Roly Saul The Restaurant
The Mill House, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Nice laid back atmosphere you can have drinks and food in the lounge or go inside for a more formal sit down, food good quality but theatre menu the same as the lunch menu I had last March so disappointing regards to choice but the champagne mojitos great value service good with very pleasant attentive staff. Lovely evening!

YO Sushi Clarendon St
Brown Thomas, Clarendon St, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

A great large airy venue with really nice and friendly staff - this idea of looking out for colour coded dishes is a great way of enjoying your food no matter what your budget - makes for a much more relaxing experience! The food was excellent, the variety was excellent - you could eat there as a vegetarian, or a meat eater who doesn't like fish or just have some desserts - it's great and there's food there for every taste!

profile_review

YO Sushi (Dundrum)
Level 1, Unit 26A, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

I went with my little sister - I generally don't like sitting in the middle of a busy thoroughfare having food but this novel idea of looking out for colour coded dishes it a complete distraction from the passers by. The food was excellent, the variety was excellent - you could eat there as a vegetarian, or a meat eater who doesn't like fish or just have some desserts - it's great and there's food there for every taste!

Reflection - Café Brasserie @ Dunnes Henry Street
Henry Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

As far as shopping centre cafe's go it's actually quite good! It's convenient location - it's suitably away from the footfall not to feel gawked at, it's suprisingly quiet and the light that comes into the area is very nice as is the decor and the staff are efficient and it's spotlessly clean - the food is average but the choice on the menu is nice and light as well as substantial - pleasant surprise!
