Le Bon Crubeen

I was very impressed with this restaurant. Food was very reasonable and good service. I had the brie and and the risotto and both were excellent.

profile_review

The Lotts Cafe Bar
9 Lower Liffey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon and wasn't very impressed. I had the caesar salad which was okay apart from the fact it had prunes in it. My partner had the steak sandwich which was quite fatty even for him who isn't too fussy about a bit of fat and also had prunes on it. Won't go back.

Sorrell’s Restaurant at the Green Isle Hotel
Newlands Cross, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin

A group of us went here for Sunday lunch and decided on the set menu. It was a disaster from start to finish. All the soup came out cold. There was about 5 bread rolls for about 15 people. When the soup eventually came out and was eaten, we were told there was bread rolls in the oven, at this stage obviously it was too late. The children's dinners were absolutely miserable and we had to order them chips to try and fill them up . For the children's desserts it was supposed to be jelly and icecream but they had no jelly. Everyone complained about some aspect of their dinner. I have to give credit to the waitress who understood how bad things were and tried to correct everything. They did give us the children's dinner's complimentary but the day had been ruined by the awful food.

profile_review

Saints & Scholars Lounge
35 Abbey Street Lower, City Centre North, Dublin

We went for Sunday dinner in the hotel bar with two children. Not a huge selection but the food was good. Even though I asked and paid for an adults portion I must have got a child's portion as I had the same amount as the children but everyone enjoyed it.

profile_review

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK South Anne Street)
5 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I was not over impressed with this place. There is a huge selections of burgers but I didn't think they were overpriced. The burgers were only average and the chips were frozen. Not a great atmosphere here either.

profile_review

The Harbour Master Restaurant & Bar
Custom House Dock, I.F.S.C Dublin 1, IFSC, Dublin

The food here is excellent but the service is probably the worst I have ever encountered. When we entered the waitress looked at her watch and sighed and lead us in the direction of our table. She handed us the menus, looked at her watch again and walked off with a scowl. We shared chicken wings for starters which were the best I had ever had and there was a mountain of them. The caesar salad I had also was delicious and my partner really enjoyed his pasta dish. The only bad thing was the waitress. She didnt speak to us, make any eye contact or interact in anyway. I felt very uncomfortable around her and felt as if we were a burden on her and how dare sit down and enjoy a meal. I would go back for the food but the service was atrocious.

profile_review

Knights Bistro @ The Arlington Hotel
23-25 Bachelors Walk, O'Connell Bridge, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Have eaten here a couple of times before but I feel it has now dramatically gone downhill. We went for the carvery on the Sunday afternoon. The portions were miserable and the food was bland. Will not be returning here again.

profile_review

Carluccio's Caffe
52 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Went here for an evening meal and found it to be quite expensive for the portions you got. My partner was served his starter fifteen minutes before I got mine. Also here was a small piece of bone in a piece of chicken I had with my starters.I ordered the lasagne which was €14 for a small slice of lasagne and nothing else. It was quite nice but I don't think I would return here.

profile_review

profile_review

Bonga Korean BBQ
52 Capel Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Went here for a friends party and I as I had never eaten Korean food before I was a bit apprehensive but I wasnt disappointed. The food was delicious with a huge variety to choose from between meat and fresh vegetables. The desserts were also delicious with profiteroles and other little cakes to choose from. We then went up to the karaoke booths which are hilarious. You have your own room and karaoke machine and you can bring your drinks up with you. It was a great night out and I would highly recommend it.

profile_review

Broadway New York Eatery
Unit 6, Custom House Square IFSC, City Centre North, Dublin

I have been here twice for lunch. Had pizza the first time and carbonara the second and have never been disappointed. It is quite cramped and it gets very busy but the food is worth it.

profile_review

The Martello (Bray)
Strand Road, Bray, Wicklow

We sat out in the under the canapes in the heated beer garden on a wet afternoon and had a really nice meal. It didnt matter that it was raining as it was really sheltered. The waitress that served us was very friendly and efficient. I had the pasta which was so big I could only eat about half and my friend had the chicken cordon bleu which he said was delicious. I would definitely return here.

profile_review

Botticelli
3 Temple Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin

The place itself is ok and the pizzas are very good but I would agree with the other reviews and say that the icecream is the reason to go. Its amazing so make sure to leave some room.

profile_review

C Central Bar @ The Camden Court Hotel
The Camden Court Hotel, Lower Camden Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here last Friday night for a meal and found the menu very limited. Had the chicken caesar salad and it was only ok, nothing special. We ordered chips on the side which were frozen and quite a few were burnt. Our waitress wasnt exceptionally friendly either even though it was very quiet. The bar itself is nice but wouldnt return for the food.

profile_review

La Banca Ristorante

Zaytoon (Parliament Street)
14/15 Parliament Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

There is a great variety here probably at the cheapest price you will get in Temple Bar. The burgers are delicious.

profile_review

China Castle
58/59 Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

There is a very good selection at this buffet and everything is kept warm which is a nice change. Very cheap although its not where you'd go for a romantic meal. I did witness a man drop his fork into the curry at the end of my meal which did make me wonder what else may be in it.

profile_review

Captain America's Cookhouse and Bar (Tallaght)
Unit A3 Tallaght Cross Dublin 24, Tallaght, Dublin

We have been here a couple of times and bring the kids. The kids love the food and the atmosphere. The only down side is the small cramped bar you have to wait at while you are waiting for your table. The food is good but not many healthy choices.

Fahrenheit Grill
Clontarf Castle Hotel, Castle Avenue, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin

Had dinner here on Mother's Day and wasn’t over impressed. The food was ok but although the portions weren’t very generous and I found almost all the staff to be very unfriendly. Maybe as it was Mother’s Day it was to be expected that the service wasn’t the best so maybe I will try it again and give it a second chance.

profile_review

profile_review

La Caverna Restaurant & Wine Bar
12 Fownes Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

The best place I have eaten in a long time is La Caverna in Temple Bar. We chose the a table downstairs in the dimly lit cave where we drank our wine from silver goblets. The staff were attentive and pleasant. The food was amazing especially the steak which was so tender and cooked to perfection. They also do the tastiest selection of vegetables I have ever eaten. We were too full to manage a dessert and we were even given a shot of sambuca each and a lighter to set it on fire at the end of our meal. All in all it was a great experience and would highly recommend it.

profile_review

profile_review

The Cat & Cage - Closed

profile_review

Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Had a fantastic meal here the other night. The fajitas are so huge I couldnt even eat it all. I sampled the steak as well and it was so tender it melted in your mouth. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. Can't complain about anything here.

profile_review

Il Corvo Restaurant

profile_review

Wongs of Clontarf
436 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

I think this is one of the best Chinese's in Dublin. It is a bit overpriced but the food is delicious and the decor inside is lovely. The service is very good too.

profile_review

Flanagan’s Restaurant
61 Upper O'Connell Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Ive eaten here a few times and was always very pleased however my last visit wasnt so good. I felt we were practically shoved out of the restaurant. I hadnt even finished chewing my starters when the main course came. We were then presented with the bill straight after without even asking for it. It all felt very rushed even though it wasnt busy and it wasnt late when we entered. The food was good but the rushed service ruined the experience and would hesitate to go back again.

profile_review

Soup Dragon
168 Capel Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Although it is very small and not somewhere a group can go for lunch their soups are gorgeous. You get three slices of different kinds of bread with it, which are equally as tasty. Quite pricy for soup but worth it!

profile_review

Acapulco Restaurant

This is the best Mexican in Dublin. The interior is lit lovely. The staff are friendly and the food is just amazing. The best fajitas I have ever tasted!

profile_review

Elephant & Castle
18/19 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had dinner here on Saturday night and wasn’t very impressed. Yes the chicken wings are amazing but that’s about it. It’s very cramped, there were very little main courses to choose from and the toilets were disgusting. I'd go back when it was quiet for the wings but it’s not the place to go for a romantic meal.

profile_review

Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)
Millennium Walkway, Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin

My boyfriend and I went to Cactus Jacks last Friday night. The food and the service were great. The decor is lovely and romantic. Himself is not a huge fan of Mexican food but there are plenty of alternative options. Can’t wait to go back again!
