I was there with my wife and our 7yr old only last Sunday (18th April). I thought the bar menu was great with a lot of choices. I opted for the daily special of Roast Beef & Veg very good value for €9.95. My partner opted for the Steak Sandwich again we thought it was good value. The little lad had a mini stake and chips. For deserts it was ice cream for two of us and Baileys Cheesecake for herself. Overall we could not fault the food in any way and the general value was spot on in my opinion. Even though it was very busy (3pm ish) the service was very friendly and timely. They actual place is amazing to view and worth a visit for that alone. All in all I would have no problem in recommending it to others at all. We intend to return to try the restaurant upstairs very soon.

The Waterside Inn
Opposite Howth Yacht Club, Harbour Road, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

Pop in here while on a trip to Howth recently. It was a Saturday afternoon and the place was really busy with the usual tourist folk. We were seated in the main bar / lounge area where the atmosphere was fine. Menus were shown and we ordered. I chose the fish of the day (place) mu partner had the chowder. The tow little people with us ( aged 8 & 6) ordered prawns and a burger. Service was not the fastest and there was a communication issue with the staff! We spoke English! Food arrived; the place was lovely as were the prawns (5 in a bowl). The Kids burger was enough for two adults in my opinion, we asked the water about this and they do not do a kids burger on the menu only nuggets we were told. The Chowder was fine too. We each had a soft drink with our meal. The total was €59.00! Food was ok but defo not worth that kind of money. To be honest I would not be rushing back based on the service and the price.

Venice Restaurant - Dunshaughlin
Unit 9 Dunshaughlin Town Centre, Off Main St, Dunshaughlin, Meath

Like others I had heard mixed reports about this little place off the main streey in Dunshaughlin. We were out visiting friends in that area and they suggested we call in on our way home to try it out. Initial impression was of a clean welcoming place inhabited by families from the locality. It was a Saturday evening about 6pm when we arrived in and there was a busy buzz about the place. Mostly tables of four or five seated. We were one of only two couples seated at that time. We left it to the Chef to surprise us for choice as we liked most of the menu (this worried the waitress a little I think!) For our mains we were served Braised Shank Of Lamb & Bistecca Di Manzo. Both dishes were excellent and I would find it hard to fault the food in any way really. The Veg portion was a little on the small side. Service was pleasant (not outstanding but polite and efficient). We thought the drinks were a little over priced. Overall experience was very good and I wouldn’t say no to being brought there by others. (not too sure if I would go out of the way to visit unless I was in the area anyways.) for a local place in a small town in Meath it was great.

Wrights Findlater Howth Restaurant
Findlater House, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

It was a quite Tuesday morning and myself and wife decided to go some where different for lunch. Headed to Howth and after walking to a few different places opted for Wrights Findlater. It was 12.20ish on arrival so the place was fairly empty and quite. We were seated very quickly needless to say. We both opted for the Special of the day of Seabass . After taking the order waitress returned 15mins later to say the Seabass had not been delivered yet and we had to reorder from the menu. Not a major problem for us, but a severe language barrier did prove difficult for the young girl delivering the bad news! We again both ordered the same thing of fish pie. There was a wait of a further 25mins at least before delivery to the table from the kitchen. Actual food was amazing and could not be faulted and it nearly (only nearly) made up for the very long wait. Over all value was very good. Total was about €34 including drinks. Hopefully the service and language issues were a once off and are now resolved. We did mention it to the manager on duty but nothing came of it only a half hearted apology. We would visit again, but if in the area anyways.
