Had lunch here recently and it has left me longing for the next time. I had the chicken supreme dish with tarragon and I almost wanted to lick the plate. Excellent flavours and presentation. Will definitely be back.

Yo Thai (Mount Merrion)
Kielys Of Mount Merrion, Deerpark Road, South Co. Dublin, Mount Merrion, Dublin

I visited YoThai yesterday for my daughters 18th birthday. We booked the tepenyaki table as it is good fun to watch the chef cook the food and entertain us. When we arrived the restaurant was very empty and we were soooo cold, every time someone came through the main door we were blasted with cold air. I had to keep my coat on throughout most of the evening. I know it was a bitterly cold night outside anyway ! The food was reasonable but the starter of spring rolls or chicken wings was a bit mean, it entailed one spring roll cut in two, or two tiny chicken wings. The highlight for us was the guy who cooked our food....very funny and engaging. Unfortunately I would not return as it is quite expensive and definitely not comfortable.

FXB Monkstown
3a The Crescent Monkstown, South Co. Dublin, Monkstown, Dublin

My partner and I visited FXB's last Sunday for a late dinner. We were welcomed and led to a table very promptly even without a reservation. The food was excellent, we both had steaks. My partner is very fussy about how his steak is cooked ( medium rare)and he was pleasantly surprised to find it was cooked to perfection. We didn't have starters as it was quite late but shared a desert. All rounded off with a very nicely priced Merlot. A good experience all round.

Hartley's Restaurant
1 Harbour Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

I booked a table for 5 people in Hartleys last night. It was my Dad's months mind so we were looking for a nice quiet spot to talk and celebrate what would have been his 90th birthday. The place is really lovely , the decor soft, clean and crisp. Unfortunately we had to leave after 15 minutes asmwe just couldnt hear with the level of noise. There were a number of girls parties and the restaurant actually seemed like a big girls night out! We were very taken with the waiter who on hearing our predicament apologised and waived any charges for two drinks that we had ordered. There are not many restaurants that would do that. So, hat's off to Hartleys and we will definitely return on another less somber occasion.

Purple Ocean Restaurant
St Michael's Pier, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Went to Purple Ocean for my partners birthday.I was using one of my web deals, so I wasn't expecting very much.To my surprise we both really enjoyed our meal and I particularly enjoyed the goat's cheese salad. The deserts were yummy too.We were given a sizeable glass of wine which was also part of the deal....very generous! As a result of this we will be returning again very soon.

Yungs Restaurant
66 Georges Street Upper, South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

I went with my partner for a quick bite. As Chinese restaurant food goes it was o.k, but way overpriced. I was disgusted that in the current recessionary times they are still charging separately for the rice on main courses, and this is not stated anywhere on the menu. I complained and they took just €3 off the bill....never going back there, too many other restaurants with really good food at reasonable prices.

Le Petit Cochon
Glasthule Road, Sandycove, Dublin

I have visited Tribes on a couple of occasions now and I was very pleased with the selection of food on their Early Bird Menu. It's great value and runs through the week all evening. Excellent food, excellent value !!

Bistro Martello
1 Martello Terrace, South Co. Dublin, Sandycove, Dublin

I've had the pleasure of eating at the Martello 3 times now and found it to be a very pleasant experience. The service is exeptional and very friendly. The last time was a little dissapointing though ,as I ordered the duck special...which wasn't very special...just a very large half duck and very bland. Despite this, and based on the previous 2 occasions I wil return to The Martello again.
