This is my favourite place to eat in Castlebar, the service is attentive and friendly, sometimes even amusing. The food though is excellent, I love the open kitchen and the fact that nothing is hidden, the chefs are all proud of their food. The sauce with the chicken wings is the best in the west!

Had dinner here with a group last night, We were all a bit dubious about going here after hearing so many poor reports locally, but have to say we had a very enjoyable evening with really good food, great service and the atmosphere in the restaurant was brilliant - there was a terrific buzz about the place - not bad for a wet miserable Weds. night. The early bird menu is really good value and we will be back. I'm delighted that this restaurant has improved again. Well done.

La Pizzeria
38 Peter Street, Drogheda, Louth

This is my favourite place to eat outside of Sicily! I've been eating here for at least 20 years and have Never had a bad experience. The Pizzas are divine, handmade at the front of house, the aroma meets you halfway up the street and whets even the poorest of appetites. The steak is huge, tender and very tasty, the chicken Marsala is to die for and the wine list although short is well chosen and excellent value. Make sure you have a booking and only expect to have 2 - 2.30 hours at the table, the food is such good value that demand for tables is huge and you are not paying enough to hold the table all night.

Knightsbrook Hotel
Dublin Road, Trim, Trim, Meath

I thoroughly enjoyed the Knightsbrook experience and cannot find fault, unusual for me! Everything was perfect - the room, Spa treatment, atmosphere, bar service and best of all Dinner in Rococco restaurant. This hotel is without a doubt the best in County Meath, Other Management teams should come here - watch and learn. The staff in Knightsbrook all have the customer as No.1, and nothing is too much trouble. I will return again soon, its a real pleasure and excellent value for money.

Caffrey's of Batterstown
Batterstown, Dunboyne, Meath

Really enjoyed my first visit to the 'New' Caffreys. To begin It was warm and cosy inside with a blazing log fire. The lighting was just perfect bright enough to read the menu etc but dimmed sufficiently to be relaxing. The food we ordered was cooked and delivered just the way we ordered it and my husband said his Guinness was a 'lovely' pint. The outstanding thing about Caffreys is the service - Full marks to all. We look forward to our next visit.

La Scala (Trim)
Emmett House, Finnegan's Way, Trim, Meath

Have eaten here twice and have been disappointed on both occasions. The first time there was "butter" spread onto Crosstini! I have no idea why and tried the lasagne on the second occassion because you can't go wrong with lasagne - Wrong - there was sliced hard boiled egg layered into it. WHY. The decor is excellent and the service friendly, Parking is very good and the menu is not overpriced. The wine list is good, not too long and some good value.
