Tried Cava for dinner can't get enough of the place. Tapas are amazing great place to go with a group. Potato bravas are a must have. My favorite restaurant in Galway. But book first so you wont be disappointed this place gets booked out very very fast. Have taken family, friends to Cava everyone loves the atmosphere the wine and of course the food.

Gemelles
23 Quay Street, Galway City, Galway

1st visit would definitely recommended opted for 2 courses for 20 euro.. I had the pork neck which was tasty lovely black pudding. Ate Duck for main course duck with orange cooked really well each individual item like duck breast, confit of duck and ginger. But found the dish not balanced extremely sweet needing something savoury to really balance the extremely sweet orange sauce. ginger and red onion... Had trio of Chocolate mousse really lovely. Husband had duck confit for starter and Steak which lacked seasoning.. But chips were lovely and came out on a butchers block.. Would highly recommend restaurant lovely ambience and very cosy... Excellent service and great value for money

Maxwells Bistro
14 Williamsgate Street, Galway City, Galway

Great for breakfast..... Lunch Menu expensive... My pet hate is restaurants describing a dish with various accompaniments and not delivering. Ordered Chicken Liver pate bland with sweet brioche type heated bread with butter. Personally found it to be a strange combination I personally prefer crackers or toasted baguette. The pate was served with so called "cumberland sauce" more like marmalade.. Finally had Fish Pie had lovely pieces of fish but actually no flavour of fish in the sauce so disappointing. Partner had "chowder" a watery creamy slop. I found the prices expensive for the quality of food and coffee not that great either. Much better restaurants in Galway which are Cheaper and much better quality and tasting food.

Gourmet Tart Company
Monksfield, Salthill, Galway

This place is busy busy busy the reason great coffee, food and cakes. I have dined here alot with family and friends. I have never had a disappointing experience in regards to food. The staff are not great and feel when place gets very busy can not handle the stress. As a customer the waiting staff would make you feel ignored and my order has come to me wrong from staff telling me it's there first day not knowing specials not writing down order getting order wrong etc. All teething problems. The cod in batter is a must so is their salads. If your a chocolate addicted Bumblebee cake is a must have. Great place to go for food if you can get around the staff problems

Kirby's Restaurant
Cross Street, Galway City, Galway

The best value restaurant in Galway. Food is excellent and you even get a free pint after your meal. This would be a regular place for me and my husband. My only complaint was that it can get very cold in the winter. If you like just steak or foie gras quail this is the place for you. Well worth a visit you will not be disappointed.

Melodys @ Moycarn Lodge
Creagh, Ballinasloe, Galway

Have been to restaurant a few times for functions. Huge portions but not great on taste. Duck like rubber sauce in a plastic ramekin dish with water down sauce. Unfortunately it is the best out of bad bunch of restaurants in B'sloe. Even the garlic potatoes not hectic anymore. If your hungry and desperate and cannot make it to Galway this is the place to go.

Went in for lunch because always seems busy and wanted to try it out decor is lovely waitress was very nice and helpful. Never had tapas before but had paella in spain. Partner had paella which he was disappointed by I had tapas picked 3 they were really nice but wished had ordered different ones. He wished he had ordered tapas instead. Would go for dinner was not to mad about lunch menu and dinner menu looks great. Is pretty expensive by time you order various different tapas. But interesting to try different flavours atmosphere is really nice too. Would recommend cava tapas bar just even to try it once dont think you would be disappointed just try the tapas

Al Muretto - Re located
Forster Court, Galway City, Galway

Have been here for lunch and got the lunch menu which was good but service was slow and only had an hour for lunch so could not wait for dessert or coffee resaurant had only about 6 peolple in it. Had the steak and partner had lasagne which said was not that great. Went here for dinner. service was fine. Decided not to go for set early bird menu and splash out picked off al carte big mistake starters 12.00 euro and 11.50 a piece expected something wonderful for the price oh my god was sadly mistaken. Got a pile of lettuce with cranberry sauce on top no dressing no salad no anything else 5 pieces of toasted bread with a slab of horrible pate on top. If any part of it was homemade would be surprised partner order salmone affumicato . 1 caper and 5 pieces of salmon and 5 olives on a plate and 5 pieces of red pepper. The main courses arrived it gets worse Fettuccine del Mare aka rubber monkfish like over cooked squid with spinach and pasta Yes its possible to destroy monkfish. Never came across the like in my life. Then Salmone e Grannchio salmon and crab with penne pasta with hairs in it yes hairs. Total came to 60.50. Honestly this is the worst meal I have ever ever had. We got up left half of our mains stupidly paid and I got home. Would never recommend this restaurant to anyone

Did not have a reservation sat down had starter Chicken Liver & Foie Gras Pate did not work together. Than I had french style Pork Escallops I did not stay for dessert because just felt like was being rushed and the quality of the food was terrible. It looks great from the outside and staff lovely but food is really overpriced and bad.
