Cheap and cheerful local cafe, offering everything from panini to full Irish breakfast to chicken curry dinners. Met a friend here who had been working abroad and ended up staying hours, catching up. The staff were really accomadating and didn't try to rush us despite the fact that after our initial food was finished we remained another hour or so ordering just coffee. All in all, a great find!

I love this place. Its great if you're in the mood to experiment as you can try small amounts of different things without feeling like to have to finish the whole thing if you don't like it! The selection of spices, sauces and veg is good. The staff are accommodating for vegetarians and the selection is good unlike some places where there is only one option for veggies. The style of cooking is entertainment in itself. This restaurant is particularly good for large groups as there is always someone at the table or ready to mix another bowl so you get to chat with everyone in your group, not just the people sitting next to you! A great place for something fun and different.

Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)
Millennium Walkway, Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin

Had a family dinner here last night, booked for seven people and was told there would be e five euro deposit per person to my credit card as it was Christmas week. The staff were very accomadating when I subsequently rang to add numbers. Due to weather conditions our group was partly delayed in arrival and the staff were very helpful bringing drinks and giving us extra time. We decided to order from the early bird menu, three courses and a drink for twenty euro. Though my starter of guacomole wasnt to my taste, my family all enjoyed their choices. The chicken fajitas were delicious though the portions of salsa etc served with it were not sufficient. The dessert of tequila and lime cheesecake had no real flavour. Overall we had a pleasant experience but I don't think I will be rushing back.

Il Segreto
13a/b Merrion Row, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here for our anniversary dinner as I had read a review promising great things! Though the service was fine and the piano playing was excellent I found the food overpriced and aside from the starter of goats cheese salad, the food did not have the wow factor you would expect for the prices you pay. I don't think we will be returning here again.

Acapulco Restaurant
7 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I have eaten here several times. It can be busy so I always book my table ahead of time. The waiting staff are very friendly and helpful though there can be a bit of a wait for the bill etc as you would expect in any busy restaurant. I love the chicken fajitas and have ordered potato skins or the shared platter most times for a starter, I find both delicious, not too spicy and served in good portions with planty of guac, cheese etc. The cocktails are not cheap but no more than you would pay anywhere in the city centre, what would Mexican be without a margarita! There are some early bird specials also. Thouroughly enjoy this restaurant, looking forward to my next excuse to go there!

The Ivy House
114 Upper Drumcondra Road, Drumcondra, Dublin

Ate here today with a friend, lovely staff and great food. We both had the Caesar salad which was delicious and the bread was so fresh and cut into generous slices. Lovely pub, lovely staff, good prices, slighlty dark but very nice decor.

The Cat & Cage - Closed
74 Drumcondra Road Upper, Drumcondra, Dublin

It's near my college and we occasionally have lunch here on a Friday afternoon or occasions like registration. The staff are great and the atmosphere is good. They have a student menu which is great. The lunches are big and filling, perfect for after a few drinks.

Bad Ass Cafe
Crown Alley, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I eat here quite often with friends or my boyfriend. Good place for lunch while shopping or strolling round Temple Bar. Particulary like sititing by the window and watching everything outside. The staff are friendly, service is good, reasonably priced. We usually go at lunch time and have the lunch special which has a good choice and delicious vegetarian pasta as well as the endless options in creating your own pizza, pizza is homemade and delicious. A glass of wine or murphys or soft drink comes with this good size main for about nine euro, I'm pleased.

Buon Appetito
Upperr Abbeygate Street, Galway City, Galway

I ate here with my boyfriend last weekend and was disappointed overall. The atmosphere of the place is nice and relaxed which I liked but the waitress who was working there spoke very loudly meaning our romantic atmosphere was somewhat ruined. When I requested parmesan she dutifully brought it out along with some black pepper and then proceeded to put the cheese on my dish for me - something I do not like. As the saying goes, never water another man's whiskey! For starters, I had mushrooms in a tomato and cheese sauce which was nice and quite filling. The main course, gnocchi, was disappointing as the only thing I could taste was garlic. Though the price was not high, it was irritating to pay for something that I did not enjoy
