As a town in love with the chip, Tramore has few good restaurant options, but the pine rooms is the only consistently good place. As a result I eat there regularly and appreciate the high quality, traditional Irish food. The menu has not changed since the place opened in the 1980s, but when it works it works. The service is of a very high standard with attentive motherly types doling out endless refills of veg. Wine choice is limited, and the house wines are probably the best option depending on what you are eating. Prices never rose dramatically in the good times, and match other Tramore places going for the same clientele, but the Pine Rooms does offer a nicer experience. Best tip- try to get a table in the two front rooms rather than downstairs.

Bellissimo Restaurant (Tramore)
19-21Queen Street, Tramore, Waterford

It works so well at Ardkeen, but Bellisimo in Tramore misses a beat while still getting so much right. The food is lovely, great ingredients, although the menu is a little limited with most recipe's having an element that does not appeal to all. Service is crisp and professional, but should be a little more laid back, given the casual dining vibe of the food and room. Its very welcoming of kids. It struggles at the price points it is pitched at and I suspect it would be a little busier if took on the vic deli during the day as a coffee house/bistro (like Ardkeen does), and was cheaper in the evening. Tramore needs more food options, and Bellisimo was a very welcome addition, I hope it gets its into the groove and thrives.
