Kelly's Foundry Grillhouse restaurant
Portlaoise Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise, Laois
Reviewed 21st July 2010 ( visited 17th July 2010 )I am a regular diner at Kellys Foundry and am never disappointed with the quality of service or food. The Maitre D' always provides a warm welcome, and even without a booking, will do his best to accommodate you and find a table. The 'cook your own' style of steak is very novel on the hot rock, where you can cook your steak or Lamb exactly the way you like it, and the cauliflower chese is to die for!Good portion size, and very good value for money, with a great selection of burgers to suit everyones taste. The wine list is good also. Overall, I go back, because it's a great place to go for a special occasion or just drop in on the off chance after a day out. I highly recommend.
Brannigans Dundrum restaurant
Dundrum Town Centre Dundrum, Dundrum, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 14
Reviewed 04th June 2008 ( visited 05th March 2008 )I've eaten here on a couple of occasions purely because it's local, but I won't be back. Unless you really enjoy the taste of fat & everything deep fried, then I wouldn't recommend this place - plus the service is very slow, the first time I think I was lucky. It's american type food - nothing to write home about, and not at all surprised by the other reviewer with the Carbonara sauce - laughable, but pretty much sums up what to expect!!
The Vanilla Pod Eatery
The Iveagh Mall, The Park, South Dublin, Carrickmines, Dublin
I enjoyed my experience in this eatery. The food was freshly prepared, very tasty & the service excellent and very friendly. I chose a bruschetta, with wild mushrooms, poached egg (a little overdone), hollandaise sauce and got extra bacon - so was very please with the quality of the food. My partner had the steak sandwhich, which was huge and he wasn't able to finish! We both had tea, nicely presented, even down to the small things like the sugar bowls, and plates/cutlery used, very nice. I was highly recommend as it has a varied menu, unfortunately as I went on a Sunday, the choice wasn't as much as during the week, but still acceptable. One thing I thought was bad, was €2.50 for a scone - a little over the top for a simple fruit scone!
Eco Pizzeria & Restaurant
50 Main Street, Gorey, Wexford
Fabulous selection of food - one of the most varied menus I have ever seen. Excellent value for money and very good size portions. Service was excellent and prompt - very rarely I come out of a restaurant with no complaints - but this restaurant I have to say - hats off to. Well done & thanks for a wonderful meal

Dunne And Crescenzi (South Frederick Street)
14-16 South Frederick Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
I went here with a group of us from my workplace for our Christmas party. We had booked for a table of 10, and then increased this to 20 (giving them plenty of notice!). When we arrived, they had mixed up the booking and thought it was reducing the numbers from 20 to 10. So it wasn't off to a good start, but this problem was quickly rectified and we all got seated very promptly. Overall, I'd say it's a decent enough place for a quick bite, nice decor, and that's very good value for money. The food is tasty, for what it offers - not much selection of typical 'hot' Italian food, but the antipasto/starter selection and salads do not disappoint. The service was a bit slow to start, and one of our party had his main course forgotten about!!, but overall, service was good. I go to the one in Dundrum, and was not disappointed with the standard of the one here, especially at such a busy seasonal time. I'll be back again..
12A New Street Malahide, Malahide, Dublin
Went here a couple of weeks ago and I liked the layout of the restaurant - nice and cosy and the service was warm and friendly. I had the lamb which was nice, but it came with mashed potatoes which were supposed to have garlic & Rosemary in them, but there was no garlic flavour at all, and just a twig of rosemary sticking out of the mound of mash - so that was disappointing. Must recommend the carrot & parsnip puree, tasted divine. My boyfriend went for the fish course which was nice, overall though - the food wasn't anything spectacular, but would be willing to give it another go, as it was a nice restaurant
Martines Restaurant & Wine Bar
21 Quay Street, Galway, Galway City, Galway
I was in Galway for the races and was looking for a restaurant with a menu a little bit more imaginative than the regular garlic bread/steak burger type menu, so was delighted to come across this restaurant. The menu choice was great, unfortunately the special for race week, crab claws, they had all run out of (and this was at 7.30pm!)but there was plenty of other dishes to choose from. I had the pate very tasty (perhaps could do with less fruit coulis on top), and then came my main course of Rack/loin of lamb - with a portion size enough to feed 3!! The creamed peas and garlic potatoes were a nice accompaniment. My friend had the soup and a Caesar salad, and it made a nice change for the salad (as a main) to be a decent size. There was no room for desert, which is a shame as I was dying to try the bread and butter pudding which looked very appetising. Waiting staff were courteous and friendly, and well dressed/presented, it was very reasonably priced (€60 for 2 starters/2 mains & 3 glasses wine, tea & coffee) - so overall a very enjoyable experience. I'll be back next time I'm in Galway :-)
YO Sushi (Dundrum)
Level 1, Unit 26A, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin
I tried this for the first time last Saturday for a quick bite of lunch after bumping into a friend in the town centre. I thought they had a lovely selection of food (and my friend who's a regular is vegetarian), it was quick, very tasty - small portions for the price, but each one packed with flavour. It's a lovely place to grab something different and healthy and enjoy a chat - looking forward to trying to make some myself now :-) Oh - be careful of the wasabi - it'll blow your mind!! I'll be back...
The Gasworks Bar
Grand Canal Street Upper, Ballsbridge, Dublin
I was there last night with a friend of mine and it's a great place to grab a bite to eat after work. Nothing too fancy, but great for lining the stomach and ideal for the atmosphere with the football that's on at the moment :-) They also have papers (Indo/Evening Herald) dotted around the pub which is a nice touch if you're waiting for people to arrive or just popping in on your own...I'll be back...
Bobo's Gourmet Burgers (Wexford St)
22 Wexford Street (Beside Whelans), Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
A really nice burger joint...very good service, good choice and reasonably priced. Portion size is massive, so you'll never leave hungry! Well worth a visit for a burger that's just a little bit different :-)
8 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
A nice place to eat. I was here on a Tuesday evening and it was busy enough. The food was nice, we shared the antipasti and a pizza. I was disappointed that the menu had changed from what it is on Menupages, but the quality of the food and wine was good - I'd go back again

Johnnie Fox's Pub
Glencullen, Dublin Mountains, Glencullen, Dublin
I think the selection of food is very good, the scallops were amazing and tasted delicious. I went up on a sunny afternoon and was able to relax and enjoy the meal outdoors - maybe this made the difference to what the other reviews have said. All in all, a great spot to bring visitors to, and soak up the Irish atmosphere and view
Pizza Hut (Dundrum)
Unit CSA, 2M Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin
It's ok. I wouldn't go again before going to the cinema as you couldn't be sure you won't have to rush down your food when it eventually arrives - service is slow. I also agree with the decor - Adults like pizza too!! Space could be used for some other pizza restaurant which is not part of a chain and takes pride in its pizzas.
2 Mahers TerraceDundrum, Dundrum, Dublin
I've been here a few times as it's my local Indian. I'm not a lover of spicey food, at all, and have gone purely to have my choice the next time! But having been there, then found the Tandoori tikka masala delicious to eat with the garlic Naan bread. My significant other though had the madras which burned his mouth off, so there's something there for all tastes! However, I've since been back and the flavour really now is very bland with the tikka masala, which to someone who dislikes spicey food, is saying something. The owners are really friendly though, and always have a nice word to say
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin
Have been here before and went again. The cannelloni didn't disappoint, but my boyfriend had one of the specials which wasn't properly explained by the waiter, and so ended up getting something far different from what he was expecting. I don't know if the waiting staff get a bonus for the most expensive bill they can get, but they're very pushy trying to sell you items you don't ask for, which can get irritating! Cheap and cheerful though, and we weren't waiting too long for a table.
L'Officina by Dunne And Crescenzi (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin
This is one of those hit and miss restaurants. Some days you could go there and have a lovely evening sitting outside enjoying the food, and the view of the fountains etc.. and other days, you're squashed inside trying to enjoy a meal with very poor service. Generally the quality of the food is good, and the authenticity of the staff and surroundings enhances this, but the lack of consistency (service/food choice)is what lets it down, and I'd consider myslef to be a regular being a local! So, I guess, it's not all bad, and nice to have on your doorstep for an option
23 Upper Pembroke Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
A good place to eat, food quality was high, service was prompt and friendly, however we went on a Saturday evening at 6pm - and it was quiet. I had the lamb and was delighted to see that at least one restaurant has not followed the posse in serving lamb shanks as it is not a cut of meat I enjoy - regardless of how slowly it is cooked (am I alone on this?!)The restaurant is laid out nicely with plenty of room between tables. A bit pricey for what you get, and a little out of the way to the city centre but nice to have quality food.
