Baan Thai (Leopardstown)
Central Park, Block P, Dublin 18, Leopardstown, Dublin

Went there tonight again since a few years not having been there. It's still fantastic. Prices went up a bit since they opened but food is still great. Really enjoyed the Tom Ka Soup and the Calamares as starter and continued with the Choo Chee Jumbo Prawns. Very recommended.

The Wishing Well
Newtownpark Avenue, Blackrock, Blackrock, Dublin

Went there on a quiet Monday night with my GF. I like the pub for years and it's always nice atmosphere, personnel is always friendly and prizes are very moderate. I had a steak which I ordered rare because I actually wanted it medium - if you ever ordered a steak you know it never comes medium if you ordered medium - anyway, it came well done. I didn't want to complain but again I wondered, as so many times before, why would someone work as a cook if he is not even able to do a medium steak. The steak was ok even being overcooked, so I guess it would have been really good if prepared well. My GF had the Chicken Wings which were definitely the worst I ever tried. I don't know what went wrong with these. They were fatty, slimy and tasteless, as if cooked from frozen and and not fried long enough. Altogether, considering it's only pub food and maybe the cook had just a bad day, it's a nice pub.

Yo Thai (Mount Merrion)
Kielys Of Mount Merrion, Deerpark Road, South Co. Dublin, Mount Merrion, Dublin

Went there last week after several years that I haven't been there. I remembered them being great, delivering great food and perfect service. Unfortunately that seems to be the past. Food came within minutes, was obviously just warmed up. The duck was ok for being warmed up, but not more than ok. I had the Singapore Noodles which were boring, not spicy at all. The duck came without any rice, we didn't recognize we have to order that separately, of course for an additional 3 (three !!!) Euro. In the minute we finished eating the plates were cleared away and we had the bill on the table. Only one thing didn't change, the prizes, obviously they missed the trend, Prizes were like they were 5 years ago, way too overprized for today. I will not go there again. There are many places offering much better value for much less money.

Kanum Thai Ltd
77 Mespil Road, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Have been here a few times now and am always impressed again. Had the "Tom Kha Gai" Soup now more than five times and it is always very impressive. Very tasty and coconutty. I tried a few other dishes which were always freshly prepared with fresh ingredients. Atmosphere is take-away-like but clean and comfortable. Service is very friendly and prices are not too cheap for a take-away but considering the high standard and the portion size absolutely OK.

China Sichuan
The Forum, Ballymoss Road, Dublin 18 , Sandyford, Dublin

Went there two times in the past few weeks with friends. All of us were very pleased with all the dishes. I had the Crispy Prawns wrapped in "Shredded Ketafi Pastry, with Chilli Plum Sauce" and "Chilli Crispy Beef shreds, pan fried in a sweet chilli plum sauce" which was both great. The Service was very friendly and the dishes were served in a very timely manner. Atmosphere is very nice and clean. Altogether a very recommendable location.

New Tin Tin
7 Upper Baggot Street, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Have been here a few times now and am always impressed again. Had the shredded beef a few times and it was very taste. I tried a few other dishes which were always freshly prepared. Atmosphere is take-away-like but clean and comfortable. Service is very friendly and prices are quite cheap considering the huge portion size. Very recommendable.

The Goat Bar & Grill
Goatstown House, Goatstown, Goatstown, Dublin

Since I live in the area for many years I used to visit the "Goat" quite regularly. It is the institution in the area. Food was a bit better a few years ago but then it was as well more expensive. Prices are quite OK now and considering that it is pub food the quality is still far above average. Try the fried Brie or the chowder which are both great. As well the stir-fries are awesome. Great place for breakfast too. I would say the best full irish in Dublin. Since the refurbishment it is not as cosy as it was before. The atmosphere is great for a night out watching a match or on Saturdays with live music. Personnel is always friendly and considering them being always very busy you are always served quickly.

YO Sushi (Dundrum)
Level 1, Unit 26A, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Good Sushi but much too overpriced. Even the "Blue Mondays" offer when you pay 3 Euro for every plate off the belt sums up easily to 30 Euro. Anyway all the interesting stuff is not on the belt but can be ordered and will be charged at normal price. In short words, nice but much tooo expensive.
