Il Corvo Restaurant

Reviewed 20th March 2010 ( visited 05th February 2010 )Ive eaten here a few times and have to say its alright. Had a few decent dishes. Value is good for an early bird although I think there too pricey for an Italian. The cost of their product is low and there margins are high. Service always good. Rustic and homely ambience. would return as its handy and i have never been dissapointed.

1st time there, was recommended to me by friends. Nice little place. Great deals going on. Service a bit relaxed but staff were pleasant all the same. Goats cheese tartlet was delicious.

flavoursome food, intimate modern aisan decor, good deal on and a gem in a shopping park, not an easy place to be in these times, harder for people to forget where they are, well done

once again, really tasty. consistentcy is key to a top restaurant and the slamanca has achieved that in my eyes. Service needs a little bit of a push but in general great place especially for groups.

not as good as usual, wheres the manager? Ill say its a once off but service was messy, girl was nice though. Arrived late and felt we were not wanted. Maybe im being a bit picky. Chicken dishes a bit overdone, prawnn pil pil delicious, meatballs a bit cold. bread quite basic choice. friendly enough staff. great place for a date.

Giovanni’s Pizzeria Restaurant

Ate there with my girlfriend and for value it is fantastic, 4 course for €16.50. Bruchetta divine just the way I like bruchetta crispy warm and full of garlic flavour. Pizza nice lasagne okay and tirimisu a lil bit wet. Friendly fast efficient family service. A good business approach all round. id go back and im picky. :)
Les Freres Jacques
74 Dame Street, Dublin City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Popped in at about 6pm, good deal on. Starter and mains extremely nice. Confit duck divine and fillet steak was very nice. interestingly they only cook rare, medium or well-done, I love medium rare but steak was lovely all in all.All wine 1/2 price on Mondays and Tuesdays. Fantastic had a bottle of french house red only 11 quid couldn't believe it. waiter displayed the seafod specials on a tray... nice touch.Atmosphere not great, service good and food is up there. Great table d'hote offer also.
14/15 Trinity Street, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin
Walked in midweek and got a table. Nice gentlemen on meet and greet in casual clothing which gives the place a modern twist. I'm a restaurateur and sometimes can be quite picky. Never the less it was good, amazing risotto starter and a tasty duck main course. Service was slow, I think they were busier then expected but in the end it was worth the wait as the food quality matched the value and when that happens for me its win win. Id go back again.
FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin
Ate here with my partner on a Monday and was impressed by the room, the service , the food and the manager. There was a nice table d'hote menu for €35 which my other half availed of whereas I was tempted onto the a la carte by the Wood Fired Jumbo Tiger Prawns starter which was lovely. Fillet steak 6 oz added prawns was cooked to perfection, nice pinot grigio and happy days.

Ate here midweek just as a passer by with a group and there was a guitarist playing. The menu looked good so we went in. We were in luck. Nice open kitchen and a delightful menu. Will go back for food, ambiebce and service.

McGowans of Phibsboro
Phibsboro, Phibsboro, Dublin
Had a great paddys day meal, nicest wings i have ever tasted in my life. Normally I am quite strict with rating so highly but for what your getting the value is amazing. When the value matches the quality its a winner for me. Try the mexican burger. Fast friendly service. wings €4.95, steak was 14 quid. great for a few pints later also. will be back. I love wings, reminded me of a trip to the states.
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin
Enjoyable experience, food was of a good standard and wine list was quite active. Service was fast and staff were pleasant.
36 Baldoyle Road, Sutton, Dublin
As a hotelier i am extremely picky especially with food quality and consistency. This place has it, great chef. never dissapointed, been there over 10 times. simple menu. and its great, service fast and friendly. punching above its weight for pub grub. its as good as you will get anywhere in dublin.
The Cheese Pantry
104 Drumcondra Road Upper, North Dublin, Drumcondra, Dublin
have eaten there 4 times mainly due to the location which i feel is lacking a good restaurant. Had 1 bad experience and 3 very average. the menu is good to read but the quality isnt there.had a bad terrine and bad pate before. had a nice steak.nice wine list. service okay. had 1 bad experience when was the last couple in restaurant. dropped bill when we didnt ask for it, turned off music and turned lights on. it was mid week but they should have told us before we sat that we had to be gone by 10. told waitress i was un happy, no manager there, she said the manager tells them to close at that time regardless. i work in the same trade and that was bad form. nice little place has great potential i just think there isnt anyone keeping there eye on things. its the little things that count.
