Great visit to the Anvil: wasn't too busy so we were able to chat away. Loving the new menu: with more high protein and vegetarian options available. I had the mushroom wellington which was amazing. Delighted with new early bird deal too which is really good value.

Fade Street Social - The GastroBar
4-6 Fade Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Ding dong the bust is gone! place was hopping and filled to the brim. We sat at the counter which was a tad hot but nice to see them preparing the food too. Price wise: it's City Centre tapas and it's Dylan McGrath so we knew it wouldn't be cheap for what we got. It's a gimmick and we went in at 9.50 so we knew we'd still get food at that time. Food was prepared quickly and it was tasty. Would we go back? probably not! but we did enjoy the experience

Kasturi Restaurant (Dublin)
Unit 3, Village Court, West Co. Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

Really nice and reasonable food. Service was prompt but a little abrupt, bordering on rude.

Koh

We had a lovely evening at KOH, which started early with a cocktail lesson with Lucas. Food was fabulous, service was great! Love KOH!

Odessa
13 Dame Court, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Returned to Odessa for brunch because loved it in the past. The restaurant had moved to the other side of the building which wasn't as big but was nice. However, it was quite noisy. Menu had changed and not for the better: as a vegetarian I used to love the 'veggie brekie' which is no longer on offer. The new brunch menu was not flexible and is filled with egg and salmon dishes, neither of which I eat. I opted for the french toast which didn't feel substantial but was the same price as the other dishes and felt like I was having a dessert for brunch. Coffee was bitter and far too strong. Service was friendly.

Royal Thaiger
Main Street, Naas, Kildare

Our first time trying this restaurant. Food was okay, service was a little cold - could have been a bit more personable. Piano player was really nice. I had prawn tempura as a starter which was small and only okay. For the main I had a vegetable stir fry with cashew nut which was lovely. Dessert was homemade and very nicely presented

TRAX Brasserie
Friary Road, Naas, Kildare

I like Trax, it's a busy but nice spot and not too expensive either. As a vegetarian I appreciate that they have a vegetarian menu along with their full menu. I was a bit disappointed that they removed some bits from their menu, I used to love their mushroom bruchetta. I love too that when I order a spritzer it comes exactly as one should. A very pleasant evening!

The Brown Bear
Two Mile House, Naas, Kildare

Nice reclusive restaurant with relaxed atmosphere. We found the food to be over priced and gave very limited vegetarian options. We found the menu as a whole limiting and small. What we had was tasty but overpriced. Honestly, we wouldn't return

Dobbins Restaurant
15 Stephen Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This was a Menu Page Deal gift so we felt it was serious VFM. Such cosy booths, very intimate for couples. The staff are super friendly and efficient and the foot was really tasty. A great restaurant that's tucked away to prying eyes. We'll definitely return!

Nifty Fifty
186 Whiltehall Rd West, South Dublin, Perrystown, Dublin

Spent a lovely evening at this restaurant for a family celebration. It was quiet as it was midweek but that just meant we had more space mingle and freedom to chat. The food was really tasty and not too expensive either. The service was exceptional - we'll definitely be back!

Hodson Bay Hotel
Roscommon Road, Athlone, Westmeath

We stayed in the Hodson Bay for a girlie weekend. The room was great: spacious, clean and warm. The breakfast was delicious and had plenty to offer but the evening food in the bar was disappointing. I opted for a veggie stir-fry which wasn't great at all but it was the only vegetarian option that agreed with me. Dessert was lovely as were the house cocktails we were gifted with. Despite the disappointing bar food I'd definitely go back.

GG'S of Naas
Fairgreen Street, Naas,, Co. Kildare,, Ireland, Naas, Kildare

Hadn't visited since it changed from Tenors. Decor and menu options had improved under the new management but the prices had also risen slightly. The service is always friendly and efficient but what we chose on this occasion was only average in taste. However, that could just mean that we need to chose wiser in future.

KC Peaches Cafe Dame St
54 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We met for a Christmas hook-up among friends. We didn't opt for the full early bird offer (which was very tempting!) as we weren't ravenous. However, we were allowed to pick dishes as we liked. we sat upstairs in the early evening of 5pm and the atmosphere was warm and festive. Service was excellent and menu was very fairly priced. Loved evening, tasty food and friendly service - we even got a complimentary glass of prosecco to celebrate Christmas.

ely gastro bar
Grand Canal Square, (Next to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre), Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Early bird treat before a show was disappointing. This is my second time choosing this restaurant before a shoe and both times it has come up short so I won't be back! Vegetarian options were few and lacked imagination. Service was friendly but less than prompt. Over priced for what we had and limited options

Anvil Bistro Restaurant
Saggart Village, Dublin 22, Saggart, Dublin

We went for a family birthday for a special birthday. Food in the Anvil is always good. The tempura prawns to start were amazing and the curry was spicy but is always great at the Anvil! Even though I love the Anvil I still do find it slightly over priced.

FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

Sunday roast with all the trimmings: really nice food, came piping hot and plenty of it too! Vegetables and spuds were fab and varied. Desert of lemon tart was amazing. Service was friendly & at €29.99 for a three course roast dinner - where else would you get it in the heart of Dublin? We will be back!

Red Torch Ginger
14/ 15 Andrew Street , Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We missed the early bird menu which was disappointing as it's quite expensive otherwise. I think for an early bird to finish at 6.30 is a bit too early. However, the meal was nice if a little over priced. We enjoyed prawns in coconut tempura and spring rolls to start followed by Nasi Goreng. All very tasty! Service was really friendly, again would want to be at that price! lol I would go back but will be sure to catch the early bird next time!

Lemongrass (Citywest)
Citywest Golf Hotel, West Dublin, Saggart, Dublin

Food was amazing, I had a simple vegetable stir fry with brown rice but it was sooo tasty and just enough. For dessert I had rum, raisin and fig ice-cream which was amazing. Atmosphere wise it wasn't great, there was a lot of kids about due to Disney on Ice at Citywest. Service: staff were efficient and patient but not overly helpful or friendly.

East at The Spencer Hotel
The Spencer Hotel, Excise Walk, Dublin 1, City Centre, IFSC, Dublin

We stayed at the Spencer on this evening as part of a hen party. So, following our cocktail lesson we had dinner at East. The service was great and quick but the food wasn't special and I love thai food. As a vegetarian I like thai food for it's flavour and experimentation with vegetables, tofu etc... I ordered the chow mein with tofu and asked for more veg than noodles. The noodles were a bit grouped together and I got very little veg, the sauce was slightly too salty too. Loved the atmosphere, the interior, the service and the value for money - it was just a pity that the food wasn't great.

Odessa
13 Dame Court, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

I love brunch at Odessa even though it is slightly over priced. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and just what you need to cure a Sunday morning hangover. Food took a while (but it was a group order to be fair!) but when it arrived it was hot, well presented, tasty and well proportioned.

Tenors Grill Room (Naas)
Fairgreen Street, Naas, Kildare

Great value deal, Tenors is a great local reliable restaurant for us. Lovely staff & friendly service. Service was a little slow on this occasion but i quite like the gap between courses.\n

Reeds on the River at Courtneys
Main Street Lucan, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

I really enjoyed my visit to Reedes on the River. It offers value for money, good food, pleasant service and a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff have a flexible approach to orders and are happy to make changes to dishes upon request. two course meal with a glass of wine €25 (excl. tip)

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Myself and 2 friends visited Brasserie Sixty6 as part of Dine in Dublin. The menu was ok and suited us despite two of us being fairly choosy vegetarians. I started with the Caesar Salad which was really tasty & fresh, I followed that by the Mushroom Tagatelle which was really nice and filling too. Portions were generous & the bread provided with the starters was crisp & appreciated. The service was friendly but a little too prompt if that's possible, we did feel a little rushed from one course to another. However, when we finished our meal we weren't rushed at all to pay up and scarper. One of the servers asked my friend "why she didn not finish the mozarella in her salad" but it was asked like a mother questioning her child as opposed to showing actual concern. We laughed it off but it was a little wierd. Dine in Dublin is a great opportunity to try restaurants that might otherwise be too expensive to dine in. This night was great value at €25 for 3 courses. We enjoyed it.

Ananda
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

We booked for 6pm on a Sunday and although we weren't huge fans of Indian cuisine, we were dying to try it following it's appearance on masterchef. The atmosphere was relaxed but busy. I started with the tempura prawns which were amazing and chose the aubergine steak for my veggie main, the description read "mild" but it was still too spicy for my taste. The service was excellent: I loved the way they described each ingredient to us on presentation of our dishes. It's not cheap, we had starter & main each, shared a dessert & had one glass of wine each too, total bill before service charge: €98 I would go back for a special occasion but I would make sure to communicate my need for an extra-mild dish.

Vie de Chateaux
The Harbour, Naas, Kildare

Title: Yummy Sunday After living in Naas for 4.5 years, I finally got to try this french fancy! Top tip: go on a Sunday, its less busy and offers a very reasonable menu of 2 courses for €19 or 3 courses for €25. We started with the mussles & goats cheese dishes, both of which were elegantly presented & tasted great. I took a chance on the vegetarian main of crispy, tempura cauliflower with crunchy mange tout in a light sauce, delicious! My partner enjoyed chicken in taragon sauce and thought it was "exceptional". Service was attentive and enthusiastic

profile_review

Amber Lounge
Fota Island Hotel, Fota Island, Cobh, Cork

Service was fairly relaxed and slow. Food was good though: Michael had the burger which came with all the trimmings but he did have to wait on his Guinness, poor lamb! 2 mains and a pint €35 so value was fairly average but then again, it is located in a 5* hotel The evening staff were friendly but lacked observation / awareness skills. On the same day we also enjoyed tea and scones in the bar which were delicious and plentifull

Koh
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

My first visit to the Italian Quarter in Dublin city & given the title was a bit dubious about trying a Thai restaurant. However I needn't be! I love Thai food and for a midweek treat for a bunch of girls watching their wallets - KOH is the place to go!! We chose from the early bird menu which was 2 courses for €17.95 and shared one bottle of wine as we were all driving or just "being good". The food was lovely: I had the vegetarian spring rolls followed by the Tofu Pad Thai which was filling, generous and very, very tasty! We had a private room so we felt special & there was 20% off all bottles of wine which was great. Total bill including tip: €23.30 per head and there was 6 of us. I'll definitely be back. only drawback: no prawn crackers but at that price I can live with that.

Tenors Grill Room (Naas)
Fairgreen Street, Naas, Kildare

I've lived in Naas for four years now and Tenors is a "great aul reliable" as my mother would say! It really is very dependable guaranteeing value for money, friendly staff and a buzzing kitchen atmosphere. Portions are very generous considering what you pay and they've recently extended their menu to include low fat options which is great.

Anvil Bistro Restaurant
Saggart Village, Dublin 22, Saggart, Dublin

Really liked the menu, especially how well it catered for vegetarians. Not the cheapest but not too expensive either. Great festive & cosy atmosphere & I'll be sure to return. excellent & fast service, food was well presented and tasty!

Butt Mullins
Poplar Square, Naas, Naas, Kildare

Serving until late, Butt Mullins is a cosy stop that wont break the bank as previously thought. For a small menu, it offers good versatile vegetarian options. The service was a little slow but all food came piping hot which I just have to have. most main courses were €10 - €15 and I cant wait to try the early bird menu: Monday - Friday 5pm - 7.30pm, 4 courses for only €15

The Storehouse Restaurant - Closed
Friary Lane Naas, Naas, Kildare

Nice surrounds, warm environment. Romantic enough for Valentines Day although the tables are quite big so it can be difficult to hear you partner across from them. Food was hot and well presented in a timely manner but not too quick as can be very annoying. at €58 for two including a glass of chilean wine, not bad for a Valentines Day recessional treat!
