Ate here again last Friday for a 'girls night. Table booked for 7pm and on arrival the place was buzzing which is lovely to see. Service was excellent - we were served by two excellent young handsome chaps... ;-) they were very tolerant! I had the prawns to start (yum!) and my usual the lamb burger for main...others had the calamari which was delicious and mussels which I was told were excellent too! Also had the Afogato for desert which is simple but excellent. This restaurant hasnt let me down yet!

RIBA Cafe Restaurant Stillorgan
4 Lower Kilmacud Road, South Dublin, Stillorgan, Dublin

Had a really lovely night in this lovely local restaurant for my daughters birthday celebrations. Food was excellent with a great value early bird running all night long. Service was excellent with a lovely surprise 'birthday candle and Happy Birthday' at desert time. We were in at 7pm and it was pretty quiet at that time but within an hour the place was nicely buzzing. Highly recommend and will be back.

The Wild Goose Grill
First Floor, Above McSorleys, 1 Sandford Road, Dublin 6 , Ranelagh, Dublin

Another excellent night in this really great restaurant - everything about this place seems to work really well - our server was really helpful and full of personality - food and wine were great and the place was buzzing! Must go more often!

Beeftro - Dundrum
Pembroke District, Dundrum Town Centre , South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin

4 of us (2 adults and 2 children) ate here Bank holiday monday. Style of restaurant is nice and a change for Dundrum - quite American in its look. We had a booking and were shown to our table immediately - we both had rib eye steaks which I have to say were cooked perfectly and really tasty - there was however rather a lack of side vegetables to choose from - it was swede or broccoli gratin - made the mistake of ordering the gratin - very cheesy - very little broccoli - not so good! A few more green veg options would be an idea. Kids menu was excellent value - for 8.50 they had a really decent burger with fries, a nice looking ice cream sundae with I have to say really good ice cream and plenty of cordial - a good deal for sure as the burger was like a really burger and not a flat pattie. I had a lovely glass of red spanish wine, and we had a bottle of sparkling water - bill came to around 80 euros - certainly not cheap but we did so enjoy our steaks - maybe some decent veg next time Beeftro…? Will try once more!

Kinara Kitchen
17 Ranelagh Village, South Dublin, Ranelagh, Dublin

Hadnt visited this restaurant in a few years and am now wondering why we left it so long? This place was buzzing with atmosphere last night. We had a table booked and were shown to it as soon as we arrived. Service throughout the evening was excellent and helpful. Food was as I remember the last time superb. So tasty and delicious - I had prawns to start which were so good and chicken for my main. Himself had the lamb chops to start which were really really good and so perfectly cooked and he had seabass for main! Ice cream for desert was seriously good. All in all a great spot, very helpful staff and really really good food. If you havnt been yet book it now!

Utsav
Number 2, The Rear, Lower Kilmacud Road, Stillorgan, Dublin

Hadn't visited this restaurant in many years & made a spur of the moment late booking on a sat eve. Nice to be back. Food was great & the service was excellent... Our server was knowledgable on the menu & gave us great assistance with a few questions. The restaurant was not as busy as I might have expected but I suppose it is quiet holiday time. All in all a very pleasant experience & we won't leave it so long next time!

Aprile Ristorante
10 Lower Kilmacud Road, SET MENU ALL NIGHT MONDAY TO FRIDAY, Stillorgan, Dublin

Paid a visit before the cinema with a friend for a quick bite. Nice bright restaurant, good service, plenty of choice to cover all tastes on menu. Waitress was pleasant - will be back for more!

Eden Bar and Grill
7 South William Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Myself & 3 ladies had one of rare get togethers here on weds night last...first observation is that the signage is not terribly clear outside the building & it's easy to miss..! It's located next door to Dakota bar. Style, decor & general ambience of the restaurant are very good & stylish. We were offered water immediately & our waitress was very pleasant, efficient & helpful. We went for the early bird.. €20 for 2 courses which was excellent value. I had salmon fish cake to start & steak or main. Steak was very good & there was no problem when I asked for veg instead of fries.. Fish cake was fine if perhaps a little 'bland', ! Service remained very good throughout & then a jazz type threesome came on... Very nice background music & singer had a great voice.. All in all a very pleasant experience & when we left around 9pm the place was buzzing nicely .. Would go back & definitely a good spot for groups.

The Green Hen
33 Exchequer street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Tried to make a reservation for this restaurant through menupages but ended up having to phone to make it as they never came back to me via menu pages. Anyway I got my lunchtime bank holiday reservation in the end. This restaurant is warm, cosy and quite 'bistro' like. Tables are quite close together so you wouldnt want to me looking for intimacy! we went for the lunch deal 19 euros for 3 courses - which is amazing value! I will say that starters were pretty small ("where the rest of it'? was my others half remark at this beef carpacio) however it was tasty! Main courses were good and desert (chocolate brownie) was truly 'to die for' - a truly decadent brownie! we had 3 glasses of wine and 2 coffees as well as the set lunch - total 74 euroes - rolled out of there feeling absolutely stuffed! Service was pleasant, efficient and with a smile! Will certainly be back for lunch!

The Box Tree
Stepaside Village, South Dublin, Stepaside, Dublin

Had a night out here with 3 others last Saturday - only the second time we have been there and it was again a great success! A bit more pricey this time as on the previous occasion we had eaten off the 'early evening' menu which is fantastic value..this time we on the full a la carte which is distinctly more pricey! Having said that service was faultless, and the food was superb. All three courses were really excellent quality food. Restaurant was busy and atmospheric, its also nice and stylish as it the 'Wild Boar' attached to it where we had drinks before hand. We will be back again hopefully soon.

8 of us ate here on Sunday early evening - 4 kids and 4 adults and usual this place hits all the right spots. Service was excellent and efficient and food (lamb burger for me!) was excellent. No complaints and a great spot for a family get together to finish off the week. we'll be back!

The Wild Goose Grill
First Floor, Above McSorleys, 1 Sandford Road, Dublin 6 , Ranelagh, Dublin

Ate here recently with two of the 'girls'... we had a really lovely evening..style and overall atmosphere of the restaurant is we all agreed really excellent. This is a smart place! We all had a goats cheese with aubergine starter which was delicious and plates were clean after. I had the hake for my main course and it was the nicest piece of fish I have had in a long time...delicious. We had a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc between 2 of us and I had two glasses of Salice Salentino - a gorgeous Italian red. Service was impeccable. The early bird runs all night on a Wednesday so all this lovely food/drink was at excellent prices. Cant honestly think of anything bad to say about the place and will definitely be back. Go visit!

Roast
10a Merrion Rd, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Like previous reviewers we ate here with the boards deal voucher...and were very impressed. Service was excellent, a warm greeting and a complimentary glass of prosecco on arrival was a real pleasure. We both had salmon to start and cod fillet for main - both were excellent - really good quality food here. I had two glasses of red wine and a desert and our balance on the bill was roughly 40 euros which we felt was very reasonable. A minor error on the bill which was pointed out was rectified immediately with an apology. Restaurant is very pleasant, was not full when we arrived but much 'buzzier' by the time we left. All in all an excellent experience so top marks to Roast!

The Wild Boar
Stepaside Village, Dublin 18, Stepaside, Dublin

Paid a visit to the Wild Boar last Saturday...had no reservation but they were able to accommodate us as it was early (7.15 ish!) ...Really like the style and ambiance in the bar which sits in between the Wild Boar and the Box Tree. (the Box Tree was buzzing and we didn't even try in there for a table) We were given a table for 2 in the Wild Boar straight away and it began to fill up very quickly. The style of this restaurant is very appealing - big wooden book cases all around, nice wooden floors - very well styled and very clean. Our Waiter was excellent, menu was great and the food I have to say was very enjoyable. We both had the rib eye steak which were both excellent, I had an amazing pavlova for desert which was just the best desert I have had in a long time. All in all a restaurant with very high standards and a nice buzz about it. I wish it well and hope to be back soon.

Ananda
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Had a wonderful experience in Ananda last friday night - everything about this restaurant is so relaxed, peaceful and yet top quality... a rare thing. Staff are nothing short of excellent and cannot be faulted. Superb Service. We had an excellent meal, choosing two mains and a selections of sides dishes rather than starters, all were absolutely delicious and we really felt there was a high quality and standard to the food we were enjoying. We had 3 glass of red wine (2 argentinian malbec & 1 spanish temperanillo) - all of which were excellent. Bill was very reasonable, ambiance and service excellent - really didnt want to leave and will be back again very shortly. Top Marks....!!

Alexis Bar And Grill
17 / 18 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Ate at Alexis last night with extended family group. What a great success! Service from entering the restaurant is excellent and there is great attention to detail. Menu is not enormous but food is really top notch. We all went for a main and a desert which was excellent value. No kids menu but they had half portions of adults meals which worked out well. Presentation of the food and the overall taste and quality of the food is really good especially considering the Dinner menu is 18 for2 courses and 20 for 3 courses! astounding value! There was nothing that we didnt like and we all look forward to a return visit...sooner thather than later! Would certainly recommend it.

Milano (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Visited Milano Dundrum on a Friday at around 6.30....wont be repeating the experience again in a hurry! As would be expected the place was busy however the design/decor of the restaurant means that when its noisy.....its really noisy!! Sound seems to reverberate around the place. There were a lot of families with young children/babies and they all seemed to screaming for their food at the same time!! That aside, service was good if nothing impressive. Pizzas were adequate but really nothing special and I do feel the standard has dropped in this restaurant over the past year. Will be visiting a different local Pizzeria next time.

Pichet
14/15 Trinity Street, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

Visited Pichet for the first time on bank holiday monday for lunch. Impressed with the style and decor of the restaurant and the greeting we received. We opted for the excellent value lunch menu - i think it was 23.50 for 2 and 25.50 for 3 courses - excellent value as the standard of the food is top quality. I had the risotto to start and fish for my main course - both were divine. I also indulged in a chocolate brownie for desert which altough it didnt look terribly exciting tasted fab! All in all a lovely visit, great food and a high standard of service. Will be back for sure!

Bits and Pizzas
15 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Visited this restaurant for Fathers Day last Sunday for the first time in several years and left wondering why we had left it so long. This restaurant is in our opinion streets ahead of the large 'chain' pizza restaurants - the staff were excellent, smiling, pleasant and attentive and keen to point out special deals / best value on the menu. We all had excellent pizzas, and my chocolate brownie served warm with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream was simply divine! Hubby was happy to be able to order a pint of beer with his pizza and kids were delighted with a knickerbocker glory. 2 courses was roughly 15.50 and 3 courses approx 18.50 - really great value! Will definitely be visiting again in the near future and would recommend to anyone.

Chi Asian Restaurant
9 Georges Avenue, Blackrock, Dublin

This is a little gem of a restaurant tucked away in Blackrock. The restaurant itself is stylishly decorated, clean and comfortable. There is a wide and varied menu with a fantastic value menu of 2 starts, 2 mains and a bottle of house white or red for 49.95!! We went for this option and it is truly amazing value. Plenty of choices on the menu, food was delicious and our bottle of red went down a treat. We were there unusually early (around 6.30pm) so it was pretty quiet but it started to get busier towards the end of our meal.Really enjoyed it and will certainly be back.

Gotham South
4 Kilmacud Road Lower, Stillorgan, Dublin

A welcome family friendly addition to stillorgan. Good Pizza restaurant with a reasonable childs menu. Good choice of wines both by the bottle and the glass at reasonable prices. Deserts good particularly the Afogota (spelling?) and very well priced. Staff were very friendly and efficient and all in all couldnt really say much against it ! Will be back but only with the kids!! Not a place for romantic evenings!

Kinara Kitchen
17 Ranelagh Village, South Dublin, Ranelagh, Dublin

Visited this new Ranelagh restaurant last Saturday in a party of 4 people. Have to say we were all very impressed. Service was excellent - our waiter was helpful and well informed. Food was really tasty - everyone was happy with their starters and their mains - fabulously flavoured and tasty food. Wine menu was reasonable and we had 2 bottles of a lovely Spanish Temperanillo at 27 euros a bottle. My only gripe if it could be called that is that there is a lack of bathroom facilities... one toilet each for men and women is really not adequate in a restuarant of this calibre and there was an almost 'night club' like queue for the loo when I visited. However it wouldnt put me off visiting and I look forward to some delicious food there again.

Yo Thai (Mount Merrion)
Kielys Of Mount Merrion, Deerpark Road, South Co. Dublin, Mount Merrion, Dublin

I would have to agree with the last reviewer - extremely disappointing meal. We were there on Sunday evening, restuarant was pretty quiet yet service was still lacking. Starter (spring rolls) were fine if a little average but main courses (chicken szechuen and chicken in basil) were bland and tasteless - no spice at all. The fried rice was unbelievably poor quality - lumpy and stodgy - we didnt eat most of it, didnt really feel like having it replaced and commented on how bad it was to the waitress at the end. It was taken off the bill but if it hadnt been we simply would not have paid for it. One bottle of beer and one glass of red wine were fine but overall a very disappointing evening and we certainly wont be returning.

Milano (Dun Laoghaire)
1 Harbour Square, Crofton Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Visited this restaurant again with a total of 4 adults and 4 kids...had a lovely evening. Pizzas were excellent, kids menu perfect for the children - all happy! Service from our waiter was top notch - he was very helpful, looked after us very well. Was glad we had booked the table for 6pm as when we arrived they were turning people away from the door and the place was full. All in all a great value, family friendly restaurant with a nice atmosphere and seriously tasty pizzas. Will be back again.

The Real Gourmet Burger - Dun Laoghaire
The Pavilion, South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Myself & himself visited REAL burger last night after hearing good things and we'll definitely be back! - Burgers are excellent - so so tasty! - Served in a lovely bun (not a cheap nasty one!) with crisp iceberg lettuce and plenty of beef tomatoes and then your chosen filing - mine had melted cheese, guacamole and pancetta - divine - we also shared a generous portion of the chunky chips with the rosemary salt - delicious! - I had a glass of red wine and himself had a smoothie - bill came to 29euros - amazing! The only thing I will say is that certainly not a place for a quiet chat as the combination of the open kitchen and hard surfaces (no soft furnishings) does mean the noise seems to bounce off the walls and we did have to chat loudly to each other (as did everyone else)! - Service was excellent and unobtrusive, food so tasty and very good value - will be back for sure!! Go visit!

Dalis
63/65 Main Street, Blackrock, Blackrock, Dublin

Visited this restaurant last Thurs eve at about 6.30pm for the early bird - very quiet - quite a few 'older' people there - little lacking in atmosphere - however the food was really excellent but 2 courses in the early bird for 2 of us with one glass of wine and one bottle of sparkling water and 1 coffee (so no over indulgence going on!) came to 70 euros which we both thought was a little steep. Food excellent, service couldn’t be faulted, but a little 'staid' and serious and definitely on the pricy side! Got a little busier as we were leaving but not buzzing and still a slightly 'older' age group (and I'm 40!)

The Bay Restaurant @ Walters
68 Georges Street Upper, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Walters is one of my all time favourite restaurants - I just love it! - It’s not a particularly cheap night out but the food is top quality, service is excellent and I love the style and atmosphere of the actual restaurant. The pub downstairs can be a little 'dodgy' but we've always lingered over our wine in the restaurant - go & visit!!
