The warm welcoming feeling you get when you walk through the doors of the Fern Cafe is wonderful. We were met by very friendly, efficient staff and shown to our table immediately. The food was really good value and so delicious. The goats cheese starter was fresh and tasty, the sea bass was also yum! Lemon tart to finish off the meal was perfectly made. I'm only sorry that I haven't visited here before now, I will definitely be going back. Perfect to blow away up the January blues.

Rolys Bistro
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

A wonderful experience from the moment we walked in the door... Friendly, efficient, attentive, food was delicious.. Duck wantons, fishcakes, steaks and desserts.. All cooked perfectly. Can\'t wait to go back!

Ouzos Bar and Grill
22 Castle Street, South Co. Dublin, Dalkey, Dublin

I was really looking forward to my meal here and sadly was left feeling like I could have cooked better at home. Starters were fine.. mussels & goats cheese parcel.. mains were salmon & fillet steak. The salmon was overcooked and the steak was tender but with very little flavour. There was a long delay for some reason between the two courses but there didn't seem to be any reason why. All in all it was a mediocre experience and I won't be in a rush back.

The Hen House
The Pavilions, South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

I popped in here for a Sunday brunch - never having been before I wasn't sure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, we got a nice seat beside the window. Food was very plentiful and tasty - omelette with side salad and french toast with crispy bacon & maple syrup. All of the food going to the other tables looked delicious too. We are looking forward to coming back for an evening meal or lunch very soon. Keep up the good work!

The Kings Quarter Restaurant
Newcastle, Newcastle, Wicklow

From the moment we walked in everything was perfect. The atmosphere was cosy, nicely busy. The staff were warm and friendly and couldn't have done enough. The food was plentiful, hot and tasty. Deep fried brie was generous and cooked perfectly. The sea bass was delicious. The fillet steak was tender and perfectly cooked served on a large bed of mushrooms and onions with chunky chips. Dessert was hard to squeeze in but we really wanted to try it and we weren't disappointed. To top it all off - the meal was set for €60 per couple including a bottle of wine. We can't wait until our next visit.

Square Steakhouse
Market Square, Wicklow Town, Wicklow

I enjoyed a really lovely meal here.. there is a 3 course meal for €22.95 and everything was delicious - goats cheese salad to start had just the right amount of everything, a very generous portion of sea bass beautifully flavoured and a delicious banoffi to finish off the evening. I would definitely go back here again. The restaurant was busy with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Try it.

Matt The Thresher Seafood Bar and Grill
31/31 Lower Pembroke Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I popped in here on a Friday evening for dinner, there was quite a nice cosy welcoming feel to the place. There weren't any tables free so we had a drink at the bar first. A booth became available so we asked if we could sit there, we were originally told no it was booked but were then told we could sit there but if a table of 4 came in we would have to switch seats! Thankfully that didn't happen and we were able to thoroughly enjoy our meal - we both had soup to start and fillet steak for mains with a variety of side orders. The steak was delicious, cooked to perfection and so tender..the sides of roast veg, fries and the salad were also yum. The mashed potato was a bit cold and flavourless. The desserts were also delicious - lemon tart and icecream. We were stuffed and satisified. All for a reasonable price too. We will definitely be back.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

If you are looking for a fun night out that starts out with free cocktails.. this is the place to go. The atmosphere was great, staff were efficient and friendly, the food was excellent. I highly recommend enjoying a night out here.

Milano (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

So disappointing! I usually love Milano, before a movie or for a midweek dinner but it has gone drastically downhill. The service was terribly slow, the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing or who was supposed to be covering what section. The pizzas were tasty enough, but not very warm. We didn't bother to send them back as we would have been waiting an age to get them back! I won't be going back in a hurry.

The Fern House Cafe at Avoca Kilmacanogue
Avoca, Kilmacanogue, Wicklow

I enjoyed a wonderful brunch here on Sunday with party of 4. The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was lovely - even though the place was full, it still seemed like we were enjoying an intimate meal. The pancakes were excellent, the scrambled eggs delicious and very generous portions. Our water was refilled regularly and we weren't rushed in any way. I look forward to going back for an evening meal very soon.

The Riverside Restaurant - Closed
Market Square, Kilcullen, Kildare

Superb romantic evening for 2 enjoyed here. The atmosphere when we walked in was lovely, cosy and inviting. There were many tables of groups and couples. The service was polite, friendly and efficient. The starters we chose were goats cheese bruschetta and asparagus.. both delicious. We both had steaks for mains which were mouth watering and cooked to perfection. It was all very good value and we will definitely be going back.

Boulevard Cafe
27 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I enjoyed a lovely meal here with 3 friends. The service was really good and not at all pushy despite one of our party being 30 minutes late. The goats cheese starter was excellent, as were the prawns. Seabass was delicious with a very generous portion, tiger prawn tagliatelle was extremely light and tasty. Desserts were extra tempting because a waiter brings over a plate for you to see before you order! Even if you didn't want one it was hard to resist after that. All in all an excellent meal, I would definitely go back.

The Riverside Restaurant - RE OEPNED NEW NAME
Market Square, Kilcullen, Kildare

I enjoyed a really delicious meal here recently - the atmosphere was really nice, the decor and setting are lovely. The staff were very pleasant and helpful regarding menu and wine choices. THe food was excellent.. soup to start was very tasty, the fish in a bag also excellent. Profiteroles were a bit disappointing though. I will definitely go back to try out more on the menu.

BANG Restaurant & Bar
11 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I ate here with 5 friends - everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The pre theatre menu is excellent value and the food was excellent. The service was very attentive and friendly, but not overpowering. The risotto was delicious as was the grilled cod.. desserts were very tasty. Our birthday guest was treated to a candle in hers with happy birthday wishes on the plate which was a lovely touch. I will definitely go back to Bang for any reason! Great night out..

ely gastro bar
Grand Canal Square, (Next to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre), Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

I was attending a concert at the Grand Canal theatre and met a friend for dinner here beforehand. The staff were extremely efficient, friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble.. we skipped starters and had main courses and desserts. The chicken filled with cheese and spinach was delicious and the bangers and mash were extremely tasty. The desserts were a little disappointing but over all an excellent place to eat before the theatre. I will definitely be going back.

Mao Restaurant (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

I enjoyed an excellent meal at Mao. The service was great from the moment we walked in the door. The atmosphere was lovely.. The starter was very tasty. Howards Way (Churchtown)
11 Braemor Road, South Dublin, Churchtown, Dublin

I have eaten here several times always for breakfast or brunch. The service is efficient although some staff are a little abrupt. The menu is extensive and we both had breakfast.. very tasty. Hot chocolate was extremely good. I will try for dinner the next time. Overall a good busy spot for a meal at a reasonable price .

Saba
26-28 Clarendon Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Delicious! I loved this place from start to finish.. there was a slight delay on our table.. which was a bit of a let down, but the place was buzzing so the atmosphere was great. The service was perfect, the food was delicious.. duck rolls, chicken satay, chicken wings.. all yum. Pad thai noodle dish with prawns was delicious, curries and wok dishes all great. Desserts were also excellent.. not to mention the cocktails! It was a little pricey, but well worth it.. I'm looking forward to my next visit already.

Penang
11 & 11A Upper O'Connell Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Overall I had a pleasant experience here. It was early on a miserable evening, so it was lovely to sit upstairs and people watch on O'Connell street. The service was pleasant.. the decor could do with a revamp, but the food was good. Ribs wre plentiful and tasty.. the curries were very good. The early bird deals are pretty good value. It is in a good location so I will go back for a second try.

Eddies Bistro @ The Copper Kettle - Closed
Whitethorn Centre, Kilcoole, Wicklow

I ate a lovely lunch here.. food is freshly prepared with both hot and cold foods available. Sandwiches and rolls made with the most delicious bread.. followed by freshly made cream cakes.. delicious! Well worth it even if you only have coffee and a cream cake. Looking forward to trying it at night.

Chakra by Jaipur
1st Floor, Meridian Point, Church Road, Greystones, Wicklow

I just love it here! The pre theatre menu is really good value and the food is excellent. From the moment you walk in here you are being looked after from the greeting at the front door to everything after that. I will certainly be going back.. the menu is a little bit pricey but well worth it, you definitely get what you pay for.. Try it!

profile_review

Little Caesars of Rathfarnham
Rathfarnham Orchard, Butterfield Ave, South Dublin, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Enjoyed a meal here in a party of 10.. the atmosphere was nice, if a little noisy. The service was a little slow, but it was a busy Saturday night.. The food was good, standard Italian food, but something for everyone at a reasonable price. Garlic mushrooms to start were tasty, pizzas were good too.

profile_review

Dalis
63/65 Main Street, Blackrock, Blackrock, Dublin

I ate here in a party of 8 last night.. and couldn't fault a single thing from start to finish. The service was excellent without being overbearing - the quality of food was suberb, wine list was extensive. The advice from staff was genuine. All in all an excellent evening out, I will definitely go again. The early bird is excellent value too.

Casa Pasta & Pizza (Donnybrook)
3 Eirpage House, Donnybrook Road, (Opp Rugby grounds), Donnybrook, Dublin

I had a delicious meal here this week.. crostini & chicken wings starters were both good. Chicken and brocolli pasta was delicious.. pizza was tasty. Staff were very friendly and nicely attentive. The place itself could do with redecoration, but I would definitely go back for the food and service.

Excelsior Oriental Restaurant (Rathfarnham)
106 Nutgrove Avenue, South Dublin, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Ate here on a quiet Thursday night.. but the atmosphere was still pretty good. Service was good if a little over attentive - sometimes it's nice to be able to serve your own second helping of rice without someone over your shoulder. The ribs to start were disappointing - very tough with little meat on them. Curry was very tasty, as was the King Prawn with cashew nuts. Reasonable prices too - I will go back to try out some other dishes. Takeaway looked really busy too.

profile_review

Elephant & Castle
18/19 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Popped in here on Sunday afternoon, there was a twenty minute wait so we just went for a wander around Temple Bar. Came back a bit early and were seated immediately.. service was super and the atmosphere was great. Chicken wings were absolutely delicious.. Ribs were tasty but not much meat at all on them.. All in all a great experience. I'll definitely be going back for the chicken wings!!

profile_review

Nosh N Coffee
Unit 15 - Meridian Centre, Church Road, Greystones, Wicklow

Only ok! I like the location of the coffee shop because it is away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. But the food is mediocre - Chicken salad was fresh enough but the bread was not. My friend requested that her sandwich be toasted but this simple request was ignored. It was disappointing to say the least! Won't be going back in a hurry.

profile_review

Milano (Grand Canal Harbour)
Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

I popped in here for a quick bite to eat - It was early evening, so the place was empty - but it was a nice evening so we picked a table by the window. Service was good, food was very tasty - desserts I felt were good but a little over priced. I had a 2 for 1 offer so that compensated for that. I love Milano pizza so I'll definitely go again..

profile_review

Frankies Italian Bar and Grill
42 Temple Bar Square, Temple Bar, Dublin

I ate here on Sunday - atmosphere was nice and the staff were lovely. The food was a big disappointment though. We both ate burgers - which at € 8.95 were overpriced considering they came without fries. I don't mind paying for something nice, but these were very mediocre. I'd go back for drinks, but give the food a skip!

profile_review

The Italian Connection
95 Talbot Street, City Centre North, Dublin

I eat here fairly regularly and find the food and atmosphere good for the price. Pizzas were tasty and the pasta carbonara was delicious. The only fault I found was with the service - we couldn't have been pushed out the door any quicker. Drinks were taken before they were even finished! It wasn't even very busy.. It's a cheap and cheerful place to eat but the service let them down on this occasion.

Lautrecs Tapas & Wine Bar Kilkenny
9 St Kieran's Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

Great restaurant - a really welcoming feel, great atmosphere. The staff were lovely. Starters were great - summer salad & soup - both delicious. Pizza and chicken dish for main course - both yum! I'll definitely go back here next time I'm in Kilkenny.

profile_review

The Heron's Cove
The Harbour, Goleen, Goleen, Cork

I had a lovely meal on Saturday night here, the atmosphere is lovely and in a lovely location - starters were excellent, mussels & soup - both delicious. Main course of rib eye steak and monkfish were very good - only complaint with the meal was the vegetables - they were overcooked & way too peppery! Desserts to follow were yum.. Breakfast the next morning was very tasty and they offered to cook anything we liked.. overall very good, I would visit again.

profile_review

Marios (Terenure)
103 Terenure Road East, Dublin 6, Terenure, Dublin

Good restaurant for nice food at a reasonable price. Perfect for mid week if you can't be bothered cooking. The early bird is excellent value @ €13.50 for 2 courses. A very generous portion of Bruschetta & Crostini, followed by 2 very tasty lasagnes. Service is always good and the atmosphere is very cosy.

profile_review

New Millennium Chinese Restaurant
51 South King Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This restaurant is handy enough for a quick bite to eat before going on somewhere else. Food is ok and not bad value at €20.95 for 3 courses.. Ribs were only ok - very fatty. Curry was good as was the chicken with veg & cashew nuts. Service was good..

profile_review

I had my first visit here last night. I really enjoyed it, the service was great. Lovele atmosphere and decor. Food was delicious. The Counter Dundrum
Pembroke District, (adjacent to the Mill Pond at Town Square), Dundrum, Dublin

I love the whole concept of the counter and I wasn't disappointed on this occasion. The chicken burger was very tasty and all the additions were fresh and full of flavour. The fries and onion strings were a bit greasy but very tasty:-) When you fancy a burger, this is a great place to go.

I had lunch here with my 11 year old niece. A lovely welcome when we went in, staff are really friendly. Goats cheese salad was delicious. I was lucky enough to have a short wait for a table here on Saturday night with my boyfriend. Food was excellent. We shared chicken wings to start and both had delicious pizzas -goats cheese & rocket especially good. We couldn't make room for dessert - Next time for sure!! Great food, nice service and good value. Highly recommended!

profile_review

Milano (Temple Bar)
19 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

I usually love Milano, but on this occasion I was disappointed! The starters were good and I like the new Leggera options. But a few mouthfuls into my pizza I found a hair - that wasn't mine!! I called over the manager who looked at me as if to say what was my problem. He did offer me a replacement which I accepted, but it wasn't taken off the bill or free desserts offered or anything which I thought was poor customer service... I won't be going back here.

The Old Candle
Main Street, Newcastle, Co Wicklow, Newcastle, Wicklow

Dined here with family last night, atmosphere was lovely with a nice buzz for a Tuesday night.. but the service was a bit disappointing..our server wasn't particularly friendly and a bit abrupt! The early bird is good value for €30 & served up til 8 which is a good deal.. food on this was tasty and cooked very well. Prawn starter from the main menu is delicious, but the t-bone steak although tasty wasn't worth the money..

profile_review

The Hungry Monk
Church Road, Greystones, Greystones, Wicklow

I enjoyed an excellent meal here with girlfriends - the service was very good. The goats cheese starter was very generous and extremely tasty. The pate was also very good and plentiful. The curry was delicious and cooked to perfection, the lemon sole was tasty and had just the right amount. The chocolate pudding for dessert was fabulous.. and there was no problem getting a candle in it for one of the girls as a birthday celebration. The atmosphere was lovely, and we were left as long as we liked to enjoy the evening without being rushed .. thoroughly enjoyable and I will definitely be back.

Fallon and Byrne
11-17 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I ate here last night with two friends - it was a quiet night so as expected service was excellent - the menu is varied with something for everyone - my steak was cooked to perfection. Also fish and rabbit were excellent choices. There was nothing on the dessert menu that I fancied so I asked the waiter for an alternative which was no problem at all. Overall a great meal, I will certainly be returning.

Sika Restaurant
Powerscourt Hotel Restaurant & Spa, Powerscourt, Wicklow

I ate here on Sunday night with a group 6 friends - The table we were seated at was right by the door which wasn't great, there wasn't much of an atmosphere..but the service was excellent. Food was top class - I had the truffle risotto & beef fillet, both excellent.. the chocolate fondant was to die for! Wine list is very extensive and suits all tastes. Cheese board was excellent as were the after dinner drinks..Not value for money, but lovely for a special occasion..

Bits and Pizzas
15 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

The atmosphere was lovely as you walk in - a nice warm glow and delicious smells! Food was excellent - Tiger prawn starter and pizza. However the service was very disappointing - we waited a long time to order and had to get up to leave before we could catch anyone’s attention to get desserts or the bill! I would go back for the food - but the service badly needs an overhaul!

Backstage @ Bels CLOSED
Church Road, Greystones, Wicklow

I enjoyed a lovely meal here on Friday last. The atmosphere was warm and cosy when we walked in and we were greeted by a friendly waitress. The caesar salads to start were very tasty, just the right amount of everything. Fillet steak and cod for mains were both very good and cooked to perfection. The only negative comment I could make was that the when plates etc were being removed even on other tables it could have been a bit quieter! Other than that it was a very enjoyable meal and we will definitely be back.

Diva Restaurant & Piano Bar
The Harbour, Greystones, Wicklow

After reading all the wonderful reviews I very much looked forward to eating at Diva - what a disappointment! The service from start to finish was dreadful - inattentive, abrupt and slow. Although the food was ok - the atmosphere and service were a complete let down. It was a quiet midweek night, I can only imagine what it would be like on a busy night!
