22 St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, St Stephens Green, Dublin, Area Code: 2
Reviewed 25th January 2015 ( visited 16th January 2015 )Myself and my husband had the early bird menu here last week. It was our first time there. The early bird menu is very good value for the quality of the food. All three courses were absolutely delicious, made with good quality ingredients. The staff were very friendly and attentive . I would highly recommend this restaurant .

Port House Pintxo
12 Eustace Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin
Despite being rushed off their feet, the staff were very helpful . The starting platters were standard enough but tasty. The main dishes were not great. Several of our large group had lamb stew but there was no lamb in it whatsoever. It mainly consisted of green peppers. The desserts were a let down. No dipping chocolate sauce for the stodgy churro, a teasoopn of watery chocolate sauce sprinkled on it. It was relatively cheap as menus came with sangria and a glass of wine. Overall I would not go back again.

I ate here for the first time yesterday. I ordered from the lunch special which was very limited. However the food was delicious. I had the smoked fish risotto for a starter, roast vegetables and gnocci for my main. There was a full menu available for lunch but it was fairly expensive. The service was excellent and staff very friendly and accommodating . I will definitely go back again.

1st, The Fitzwilliam Hotel, 128 St Stephen's Green, City Centre South, Dublin
I had dinner here with the other half just before christmas. The building is very strange and I didnt particularly like it. We were seated with a full view of the kitchen which I don't normally like but the kitchen was so calm and well organised , I enjoyed it. The staff were very nice and not pushy about wine etc . The menu is extremely restrictive ( 3 options for each course and this is not and this is the full menu ). I asked if I could have a vegetarian option for the starter as I didn't like the three other options, I was told I would have to order everything from the vegetarian menu, this was ridiculous. The food was nice but I couldn't believe how small the portions were. I know that the food was rich and I am normally happy with portion size in similar restaurants . ( I had gnocci for the main course and there were 4 pieces of standard size gnocci ). My husband had a half bottle of plonk. The bill came to E200.It was a rip off and I will not be going back. I have paid this amount is other places but saw the value in it but not here.
The Red Bank House & Restaurant
5-7 Church Street, Skerries, Skerries, Dublin
We had the early bird here last night and the food was delicious and extremely good value. The menu is limited if you don't like fish but there should be something for everyone. The service is very good but the interior really needs a makeover, its a bit run down and very old fashioned ( but not in a good way ). The chef also has a bit of a big ego with pictures of himself everywhere, it reminded me of the wall of gaylord in 'meet the Fockers ' !!

the food is lovely and good value , the service is good but the place is just too squashed. They have so many tables in the place that it is actually hard to walk to the toilet without asking people to move. Also the tables are small and very often there is no room on it for all the dishes. Its a pity because I like everything else about the place but its just too uncomfortable

I ate here last night for the first time. In general the food was very nice, the menu is especially good for vegetarians. The service was a bit lacking but friendly. Side orders of vegetables and potatoes were left on the table with the main although they had not been ordered, the cost of them was added to the bill. I dislike this policy and will not be returning for that reason. The actual building is very nice but its not in the best area in terms of safety.
24 Strand Street, Skerries, Dublin
We had a lovely evening here a few weeks ago. It used to be very expensive but we both had a lovely 3 course meal with a couple of drinks and a coffee for under E60. I had a gorgeous starter of black pudding tart, it was one of the nicest starters I've had for a long time. You'll love this place if you like fish but if you dont the menu is a bit limiting. I would recommend a visit here

i had dinner here last night with some friends. it was my first time aeting here and i wasnt disappointed. its such a lovely restaraunt and i highly recommend it for a special occassion. the only little gripe i had was that i ordered gnocci and it tasted like mashed potatoes fried in large clumps- apart from that i enjoyed everything else. not too expensive either

I had dinner in Dobbins last week with a few friends. The place was packed, what recession ?? I had never been before and i wasnt dissapointed . The food was lovely and the servive was very good. main courses are not served with potatoes or vegetables which always annoys me but the portions of food were good. i particularly liked the baileys and hazelnut parfait , yum yum. I'll be back.

I had lunch at Patrick Guilbauds yesterday. I had never been before and even the lunch 'special' was a stretch for me. All in all it was a nice dining experience as they say. The building is beautiful and the dining area is spacious and modern. After we had selected from the limited special lunch menu a waitress brought us an appetiser and described it to us , unfortunately her french accent was so strong neither of us had a clue what it was. I wasn't that keen on it. we were served a selection of lovely breads. The starters were very nice and substantial . Again i wasn't too keen on the main course, the chicken had a funny texture but it might have been me ( I'm a bit funny with the texture of certain meats ). The mains were served with potatoes and green beans , both were overcooked. My other half had a beautiful dessert and he enjoyed all of his courses. Coffee was served with lovely petite fours. The service was excellent although some might find it over bearing, staff were very friendly. If you cant afford the full Monty its worth trying out the lunch special for the experience. It wasn't the best food I've tasted but we had a lovely afternoon.
