Incredible value! I had the stunning beef carpaccio to start followed by arguably the best fish and chips in this city. It was served both competently and with charm. I was a little wary of the new 'gastropub' label but despite the rebranding as a much more affordable/approachable package, ely hq have fully mantained their high standards of service and quality of ingredients. €20 a head would stand you in good stead!

I recently treated my mother to a belated birthday dinner at Ananda. We arrived late on a monday but were seated graciously by a stunning and most competent waitress. The setting and food were sumptuous but, alas, the wine list did not achieve similarly high standards. Successfully pairing Indian food with wine is tricky business, however, it would appear that guesswork has been foolishly utilised here. Not to be ignored but easily remedied, this should not deter patrons, after all, they serve cobra!
