I went to the Wheelhouse Restaurant around 2 weeks ago. It was delightful. They have recently refurbished the place. The new decor is much lighter and the whole restaurant feels much more roomy than before. I think the Wheelhouse have greatly improved all aspects of the restaurant over the last year. The menu is now smaller but you can still order most of the old favourites if you like i.e. Mussels in White Wine and Cream sauce, delicious. I had the Seared Scallops which were perfect. I was there with 2 others; they chose the Fish of the Day and Steak and thoroughly enjoyed them. For our side dishes we chose some garlic potatoes, salad, vegetable and onion rings, all of which were scrumptious. The staff are all friendly and efficient. There is however one fault, but it's easily fixed! The heat!!! They really need some air conditioning. Both Customers and Staff were too hot! But apart from the heat, everything was perfect.

Deep
12 West Pier, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

Really delicious food. Great service. Staff were very accommodating, friendly and professional. Buzzing atmosphere. Had the chicken wings and the rock bass. Would highly recommend. Can't wait to return to try out the rest of the menu. Daily specials and desserts look great too. Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of their meal. Great location too.

The Elphin
36 Baldoyle Road, Sutton, Dublin

Have been here for lunch a good few times and the food is always excellent. On most recent visit the waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. Best to get here early for a seat and ordering as it can get quite busy for lunch. The menu hasn't changed much for years but the daily specials do.

The Mint Cottage
2A Main Street, Raheny, Dublin

3rd time dining here, but have ordered delivery numerous times. The food is absolutely delicious, very well prepared - the balance of spices is exquisite. The lamb chops are marinaded to perfection and the prawns are out of this world. I would highly recommend the Mint Cottage for dining in and delivery. Crisp white linen tablecloths, modern decor and a relaxed atmosphere. The service was outstanding, and we were offered a drink on the house after our meal.

Bay Restaurant
369 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

great place for lunch or dinner or just coffees. the menu is varied and lists the nutritional information alongside each item. service is friendly. only downside is that the tables can be a bit cramped

Hemidemisemiquaver Bar
The Gibson Hotel, Point Village, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

have been here twice and love the menu, especially the steamed dim sum. the decor is modern but comfortable, there is a good balance and a relaxed atmosphere. service is also good and friendly. parking is a bit pricey!

Sandbar
193 Clontarf Road, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin

I love the "La Pappardella Al Funghi Porcini", but unfortunately I don't think I'll be going back for it again. Nice food but the service was just so bad. The demand is very high for an outside table! - this seems to result in the staff making no effort with the people sitting outside. Is this because the tables will keep filling up; because the food is nice and reasonable and there's a sea-view. But a 25 minute wait to make an order. Then a further 10 minute wait after that to order drinks. Then a 10 minute wait for those drinks. Then after a salad starter(that we shared), a further 30 minute wait for our mains? we ordered a salad to share for starter and 2 pasta dishes. We eventually got someones attention to ask for our bill...we were brought the wrong bill. At this stage the place had quietened down and we just wanted to leave. We got our bill in the end. As a customer, I left feeling full(eventually) but neglected. Hopefully they get some staff training in because the view is great and the food is good value.

Dakota
South William Street, South William Street, Dublin

A great place for a few glasses of wine and tasty food after work. We order several plates and a few side orders and everyone delves in. The wine is great value, the chorizo is gorgeous. The atmosphere is buzzing. If you're lucky, you'll get one of the round tables which are for great sitting around, chatting and sharing all the different dishes. Good portion sizes, overall great value.

Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Get the firecracker prawns. I've been to Luigi Malones 3 times over the last few months. It's good value, friendly + fast service and a great atmosphere. One fault though: they have a cocktail list, but they don't do Bloody Marys! The house wine is lovely. For dessert, I highly, highly, highly recommend an After Eight; it's like the shooter but made with ice-cream, a perfect end to any meal.

Port House Pintxo
12 Eustace Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

Went to Bar Pintxo last Friday. First time here. It's really cosy. We were a group of 8 and everyone chose 2 or 3 tapas each - everyone was more than happy with the food, service and atmosphere. We'll be back here again. The toilets are randomly very interesting, stylish and quirky!

The Tea Room Restaurant
The Clarence, 6-8 Wellington Quay, Temple Bar, Dublin

The Tea Room gets top marks for everything...The food, service and atmosphere...It is quite pricy, but well worth it - you pay for what you get, and what you get, is the best! try the Foie gras, it's divine...The interior is really lovely. The staff are well trained and friendly. The Octagon Bar is nice for a cocktail afterwards!

The Bistro at Ella
7 Main Street, Howth, Howth, Dublin

I went to Ella for the first time last night and I will be back again. We had the early bird which was great value...and you get to choose dishes from the regular menu. I had the scallops and crab meat topped with gruyere cheese for starter and fillet steak for my main - everything was cooked to perfection. The waitresses were really friendly too. We shared a creme brulee for dessert - yum! And the coffee was good too. A nice place for a quiet mid week meal

Casa Pasta (Clontarf)
55 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

Not a patch on casa pasta in Howth - what a pity, they just don't seem to get it right here - service was quite slow, food lacked in flavour and presentation - the waitress was very friendly though.

Trocadero
St Andrew Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

...One of the best steaks I’ve ever tasted...their pre-theatre menu is great value...there is a great atmosphere here, the staff are friendly and efficient...top marks overall...I have dined here a few times over the last few years and they have maintained a high standard...

The Summit Inn
Howth Summit, Howth, Dublin

I went here for lunch yesterday with 2 others-we didn't really know what to expect as it was our first time dining there...it turned out to be of a very high standard...we all had a delicious fresh mushroom soup for starters...then one of us had a sandwich served with salad and crisps and I shared a smoked salmon platter and a wedges with dips... our eyes were bigger than our bellies! We were more than satisfied. The smoked salmon was delicious and plump. Overall, everything was great...great value, great service, great food of a high quality...top marks to the summit-we'll definitely be back

Casa Pasta (Howth)
12 Harbour Road, Howth, Dublin

Always busy! Always great value...and now, they have a great new menu...I go to casa pasta often as its "cheap and cheerful!" a great nite out any day of the week... ...I wouldn't go here for a quiet romantic meal, and I wouldn't go here looking for a lot of attention from the staff, so therefore, I am never let down! the food is tasty and such great value...it's so busy, all the time! There’s a great buzz in the place! Their new menu is great but still has all the old favourites...their specials are always imaginative and delicious... ...the only fault with Casa Pasta that I can come up with is that it's too busy - but is that not a good thing? Maybe they could do with an extra staff member here and there...but overall Casa Pasta is a great Casual dining experience in a lovely area... ...if you're starving, try their new meatballs in pepper sauce, sauté onions and mushrooms with sauté potatoes, for only €14.95, it's huge...also great are the Cajun wings, goats cheese salad, Caesar nuts and bacon, hot Italian sausage pasta, bacon cream mushroom pasta and the new pizzas...and of course the steak is one of the best in town

Ukiyo
7-9 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Food is great, staff are great, karaoke is great. The booths have a direct phone line to the bar... My most recent visit was last Saturday after the Dublin match. The food was delicious, good service with a smile. There is a great, fun atmosphere here. Exactly what you want from a city centre restaurant. Prices are very reasonable too. A great nite is guaranteed at Ukiyo. Beware of those who say they won't want to sing! As they'll end up hogging the mic! Great fun & food...

Kinara Restaurant
318 Clontarf Road, North Co. Dublin , Clontarf, Dublin

Definitely the best Indian Restaurant on the north side. The service is impeccable. The moment you arrive at Kinara, you are promptly greeted by friendly professional staff. There is a lovely bar area to have a drink before your meal. They offer poppadums with chutneys before the starters. The decor is stylish. I have eaten here several times with friends of very different tastes and all of them have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. On one occasion, I was there with my Grandmother who is actually from India, and she gave it top marks. The food is more expensive than your average restaurant. But this isn't your average restaurant! It's top quality, value, service and atmosphere. Kinara is great for all occasions, a wonderful treat.

Elephant & Castle
18/19 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Wings Wings Wings - I always get the wings here & they're always the best Wings I've ever had...I find the service here very random. I come here more for the food and try not to take notice the service. I also like the crab cakes and the ribs. They have a nice selection of wine too. They don't take reservations and there can be 2 hour waits for tables. So, if you're willing to pop in, put your name down, head off for a few drinks, come back and feast on a big basket of satisfying Wings...Head to Elephant & Castle

The Oar House Fish Restaurant
8 West Pier, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

My new favourite restaurant in Howth! The staff are well informed, polite, friendly and helpful and they seem genuinely very happy to be there. The food is very reasonably priced with good sized portions. Try the Buffalo prawns, Thai Coconut Soup, Smokies, Steamed Mussels, Surf & Turf, and their Fish & Chips...They are all my favourites - Delicious. But then of course they've got a daily specials board too which is great, especially the Scallop Salad that occasionally appears on it. Also, the side orders are all very tasty indeed. I'm not hugely into desserts but I have tasted a few; the apple toffee pie, tiramisu and the bailey's cheesecake... they were scrumptious. And finally, what a location!? What a way to end a wonderful meal; a stroll along Howth's Piers...I've been to the Oar House 8 times now and will certainly keep going back for more. The Oar House has everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable lunch or evening meal. (Although it's primarily a seafood restaurant, there are Steaks, Vegetarian options and a Chicken dish so everyone is catered for.)
