Crabby Jo's
14 West Pier, Howth, Dublin

Quite lovely, although very expensive and portions are small.

Chez Christophe
6 Courthouse Lan, Tralee, Kerry

Absolutely lovely. Food and service is excellent. Really helpful and lovely. Genuinely, can't wait to return.

Scotch Bonnet Urban Cafe
4 Church Road, South Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Very poor. No atmosphere, dark and cold room. Poor selection on menu. French toast was cheap bread and we had to ask for maple syrup that came in a battered bottle. Very disappointing and unexciting.

Diwali Indian Restaurant
Unit 1, Castle House, South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Good value 9.99 two course lunch but not sure the chicken was actually chicken.... It tasted like really fake mass produced hormone fed processed "stuff". I asked before I ordered where it from but the waiter did not know, it's my own fault but it definitely didn't taste authentic or good! Otherwise, everything else was ok.

Homemade by Clodagh @ Arnotts
12 Henry Street, City Centre North, Dublin

I had the most gorgeous super salad for starter, really fresh and tasty. Loved it. My partner had the crab to start - it looked quite small. I had the crab cakes for main - a bit overcooked, small and not very tasty. The accompanying salad of orange, rocket and fennel was lovely. My partner had the hake and it looked fab. Really fresh and all the accompanying dishes were really tasty. Service was efficient - really thought this was lovely food. However, the seating is quite cramped and food a little expensive for such tight atmosphere.

Hailan Korean & Japanese Restaurant
65 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had a pleasant evening. I was dining with a Korean friend who noted that the meals were very 'UnKorean"......However, service is good and food did seem fresh, portions are large and price is fine.

Ard na Sidhe Country House
Caragh Lake, Killorglin, Kerry

Called in for coffee one afternoon. It was such a pleasant surprise. The building is stunning, the atmosphere is wonderful and the drinks served in the garden were lovely. The garden of course is also beautiful. Served on beautiful Wedgewood china designed specifically for them! Am looking forward to dining there sometime. A really lovely place.

Jack's Coastguard Restaurant
Waters Edge Cromane, Killorglin, Killorglin, Kerry

I rang to see how far this place is from Killorglin and I was told by a staff member that it's 1mile - it's about 6. We only wanted something small and there was no option but the 3 course lunch. The waiter did say we could get a starter and we thought maybe we would have two seafood chowders. We were shown a seat - and waited 15 mins with nothing on our table, not even salt and pepper or water. Eventually I called a young lady and she did get us some water and put a ledge under the rocky table. After the soups arrived (No one ever came back to check if we wanted something else), I had to ask another waitress who was walking away from me in a hurried manner as I tried to ask for all of the above, which seemed to be an incredible inconvenience to her. The chowder was nothing special. I asked for the bill, and was given the wrong one. So I went to the bar to pay where the previously mentioned waitress managed to smash a load of glasses that shattered in front of me (In fairness, of course this can happen to anyone). I went to the other side of the bar to pay and a lady that seemed to be a bit senior asked if I was ok and I said I was at which point the waitress said "I was testing your nerves!".....I couldn't believe the unprofessionalism. It was truly astounding. Will not return!!!

Taste Food Company
South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

A really pleasant restaurant, with great food and good service. My friends were 45 mins late and I never felt under pressure from the staff with the table. The burger was massive and really tasty and the montepulciano was gorgeous. Would defo recommend.

Delahunt
39 Camden Street Lower, Camden Street, Dublin

Had a truly fantastic night here. Loved the décor, the ambiance - everything. Food was magnificent and the sparkling wine is served in the most adorable vintage glasses. If I had to say anything negative, the starter of Salad of Datterino tomato was a little small - and that's only because it was divine. Really cant wait to go back. Thanks for a lovely evening :)

YO Sushi Clarendon St
Brown Thomas, Clarendon St, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

Excellent food - always fresh and tasty. Miso is yummy. A bit expensive though - well I eat a lot once I get in there as its so yummy. So lunch for two of us is usually about e45, so not for every day!

The Bloody Stream Restaurant
Under Howth Dart Station, North Dublin, Howth, Dublin

Limited enough menu - no wine list provided. My colleague chose a bottle of Pinot Grigio and it was Argentinian. I felt it one is buying a bottle - a menu could be provided. Not sure if I would return - nothing overly exciting.

The Woollen Mills
42 Ormond Quay Lower, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Food is yummy - but expensive. My soup was cold which I sent back and there was no apology given - I don't expect a big deal made, but a basic excuse us would have sufficed. Service is only ok - and I was bemused that they felt they should add on service charge at the end!! Why? On the basis of this, I am not sure I would return. It's my decision if I want to give a tip or not...it should not be forced upon two people having a soup and salad for lunch! Plus, I'm shocked at the other review - where they would not make up a fresh sandwich!

JJ O'Malleys
Bridge Street, Westport, Westport, Mayo

Only ok. Service was poor with many of the things we asked for been forgotten. I got soup which came without bread (It said on the menu bread would be served with it). It was veg soup - and nothing exciting! I got the hamburger and asked for green veg on the side (I got some cold broccoli and about a teaspoon of frozen peas...). My burger did not even have a slice of lettuce or tomato - I had to ask for a tomato! Very poor. We were with Swiss friends - so I was kind of annoyed that they witnessed this as 'good Irish food"! My husband's steak was not cooked as he asked either. I really can not see why this place has been recommended.

Spa Seafoods Deli and Cafe
The Spa, Tralee, Kerry

Stunning views and good food overall. In terms of atmosphere though - it's quite noisy and one can hear all prep of chairs moving and plates been cleared of food which makes for a very un- relaxing time. The food is good - however, the menu really does need to be updated and more choice when it comes to vegetarian's - the pasta option my friend chose was really very average - no thought put into it at all. It was as if it was from a 90's menu with the obligatory after thought for the vegetarian - given the other good efforts put into the fish dish's. I thought my chocolate cake was expensive at e7 for what it was. But they did give my friend who had the seafood platter extra bread and I don't think charged for it and the mussels looked good. I probably would return - but definitely ask for a seat by the window and not near the door / counter where all the noise is!

profile_review

Jam Cafe
Ballyseedy Home & Outdoor Living, Ballyseedy, Tralee, Kerry

Have been here lots but get more disappointed. The building itself is freezing and noisy with little atmosphere. It's a case of get them in and out as fast as possible with little attention paid to any sort of customer service. I was met with an extremely rude and abrupt lady who appeared to be in some managerial role (I kid you not!), who was extremely unhelpful and quite unkind to my elderly relative. Food is so so - nothing spectacular. They did no a nice chocolate biscuit cake - but not nice enough to warrant a return visit!

profile_review

Ballyseede Castle
Ballyseede, Tralee, Kerry

The grounds are lovely as is the building and atmosphere but unfortunately our food was not. They forgot my order - twice, which led to me eating after everyone! And my husband had to send his steak back twice - first it was well done when he asked for medium rare and then it was cold. They did then however, serve him a lovely one. Afterwards we sat outside in the lovely gardens - but half way through were asked to pay before some staff left or something which I felt was quite annoying. It's a pity as it is a beautiful place.

The Tankard
Kilfenora, Fenit, Tralee Co. Kerry Ireland , Tralee, Kerry

Shockingly poor. I ordered a fish pie that was tasteless and cold - and they still tried to charge me! They did insist on a free desert which I did not want which I felt was an excuse to charge me for a dish I did not eat. My friend however reported that the oysters and steak were nice. The restaurant was also very cold as we had to dine with our jackets on and had no music / atmosphere.

The Brasserie at the Marker Hotel
Grand Canal Square, Docklands, Dublin 2 , Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Lovely room and atmosphere. Not a very extensive cocktail choice (and not very good). Wine also on the expensive side. 'Le Drunch' was lovely - however, portions were small.

profile_review

Hatch & Sons Irish Kitchen
The Little Museum of Dublin, 15 St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Homemade veg soup on the lunch menu - lovely and came with really nice wholesome brown bread. Service was efficient and had a good atmosphere.

Addison Lodge
Opposite Botanic Gardens, Botanic Road, Glasnevin, Dublin

Just had a hot choc (nice) and a banoffi - it was awful! It was like something out of a packet and tasted really fake. Both my friend and I had a headache for 12 hours after! Never again

profile_review

Hop House / Kimchi
160 Parnell Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Dined here on may occasions and was delighted to bring a friend here - unfortunately it was appalling! Her chicken dish was questionable as to whether it was in fact chicken at all. It was really awful. Afraid to return, which is a pity as it was great.

profile_review

Taste of Emilia
No. 1 Lower Liffey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Bruschetta is the best in town. Staff are lovely and the sparkling red wine is yummy. Fab place to dine - day or night. Will return here lots and lots! Enjoy.

Lovely food, great wine. Great place.

profile_review

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK South Anne Street)
5 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

The two times I have eaten here - staff have been really reluctant to seat us upstairs - and when they did - they forgot about us. A bunch of people left that were near us as they had to wait so long. Over priced burgers and oily burnt chips. Will not be returning. Good milkshakes though.

profile_review

Casa Pasta (Howth)
12 Harbour Road, Howth, Dublin

Too noisy. Poor pasta dishes - and seafood chowder had no seafood in it - tasted more like a bowl of fish flavoured cream. Desert of fudge and peanut butter ice-cream was lovely.

profile_review

Bella Bia
1 Ivy Terrace, Tralee, Kerry

Very good value early bird and lovely food. However, service is poor and slow and tables are very crammed. But still a lovely evening. Will be back.

profile_review

Seabank Bistro
Coast Road, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Was here for mother's day. Quite a good value lunch meal. Service was questionable from quite a rude waiter. I asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar & had to ask twice and each was met with a grunt. Really quite extrordinary. This ocurrred a few time sover various things - having said all this, the food & wine was lovely. Would go back.

profile_review

Bay Restaurant
369 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

Loved the calorie count etc - but service was appauling - I asked four times for a glass of water and my food came about ten minutes before my friend's. Food was nice though - even though tables are a bit too close

profile_review

The Ivy House
114 Upper Drumcondra Road, Drumcondra, Dublin

A hungover Sunday - grabbed two carvery lunch's (had not tried carvery in about 6 years, so don't know if that influenced my decision).....it was basic, ok. Probbaly tasted better then I rememeber how they tasted.

profile_review

Andersons Creperie
1A Carlingford Road, Drumcondra, Drumcondra, Dublin

Love this place - all the crepes are goregous. The house white is yummy. Although the hot chocolates are not too warm....And my favourite dish has been taken off the menu ....a selection of french meats....pity as that was fab. Still love this place.

profile_review

Hedigans The Brian Boru
5 Prospect Road, Glasnevin, Dublin

Good 'pub' food - On one occasion the wiater mixed up my order & gave me a free desert = rare service these days. I was very impressed (and I had only mentioned it quietly). However - recently used a living social voucher - wasnt overly impressed. Carvery food - quite dried out. Staff very friendly though.

profile_review

Crackbird
60 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Nice for something different. I loved the lemonades (And I dont drink soft drinks), loved the chicken kebabs - have tried both. Croquettes tastless but other sides lovely. Music a bit too loud & staff a bit inattentive - oh and wine glass portions a bit small. But good value.

profile_review

Siam Thai (Malahide)
1 The Green, North Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Far too expensive for very poor quality food. Singapore noodles were wet and mushy? Beef was tough in stir fry main and I thought 3.50 was a bit much for a portion of boiled rice. Service was abrupt and rushed. Not good value - will not be back!

profile_review

Diep le Shaker
55 Pembroke Lane, (Off Pembroke Street), Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I love Thai food but this place is very disappointing (twice) - far too overpriced. Food only very average - don't why they think they can charge their prices! Excellent wine menu and nice pre drinks area.

profile_review

Aqua Restaurant
1 West Pier, Howth, Dublin 13, Howth, Dublin

Early bird menu- really fantastic. Everything tasted fresh. The steak and lobsyer were brill - massive! Lamb was falling off the bone, only dissappointment was the potatos had too much butter. Otherwise a really good value meal. Enjoy

Kate Browne's Pub
Main Street, Ardfert, Ardfert, Kerry

TERRIBLE! I have had the unfortunate experience of dining in Kate Browne's for three different occassions. It gets worse every time. The crab claws are served with mashed potato (cold), carrots & cabbage ???? They obvioulsy had been cooked hours previously and were tasteless. Pretty awful for e22.99! The 'hambuger' bun had butter on it!!! Yes, butter on it....as did the steak sandwich (which was probably the size a large rasher and and was very poor quality and fatty). Both were e12.99. When I asked where was my salad that came with the hamburger, the waitress informed me that the salad was on my burger -the half a lettice leaf & one slice of tomato. There is only an all day menu - no lunch / dinner menu. A truly disastrous meal where they obvioulsy just serve up any thing at all. Highly priced for very poor quality and unfresh food. Don't waste your time or money.
