Have had pizza from the pizza cabin there way too many times. The quality has been excellent on each visit. All pizza's come with onion and mushroom as standard but you can ask to leave these off if you wish. Had the chili chicken and feta cheese on my last visit-medium (9") came to around €11. Best pizza in Galway by a country mile.

Have eaten here many times before and the food has always been excellent. Probably the best fish and chip shop in Galway. Had the battered cod and chips-good sized portions and very well prepared. The service is normally excellent though on this visit it was far from perfect. Had to wait for ages while the 'server' took care of his buddies first and had a laugh. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come.

Artisan Restaurant
No 2 Quay Street, Galway City, Galway

Had an excellent meal here. All dishes were prepared perfectly and presented beautifully. Between the 4 we had the venison tartlet, chowder and a salad as starters. For mains we all had fish including haddock with scallops, sole and monkfish. Finished off with the desert platter and some chocolate fondants. Service was attentive but not intrusive all evening and we relaxed with some cappuccinos afterwards. The early bird menu looks very good with 3 courses for €25. Otherwise it can be expensive but if you love fish you will love Artisan.

Kirby's Restaurant
Cross Street, Galway City, Galway

This place has come on in leaps and bounds lately. Have eaten here 3 times over the past two months and each time the food have been excellent. The chowder has to be one of the best I've ever tasted-creamy and packed full of fish. The steak was cooked exactly and way I wanted. The only issue is if your eating on a Friday/ Saturday night here-the pub next door can get very noisy so if you have the chance take a table upstairs. I will be returning.

The Malt House
Old Malt Mall, High Street, Galway City, Galway

Ate there on Easter Sunday. They had an offer of 3 courses for €24 which we thought was excellent value..and we were proved right! While choices were limited we all choose different starters and had no complaints and for the mains everyone had the lamb. All was excellently prepared and the staff were very attentive. Will definitely be back.

Mulberry Restaurant and Wine Bar
Unit 14 Barna Village Centre, Barna, Galway

Went there early (1830) midweek so it was pretty quiet-though it had filled up somewhat by the time we were leaving. We both had the fish cake to start. Cooked perfectly and was extremely tasty. I had the sirloin as a mains and my partner had the rack of lamb. Steak was cooked exactly to my liking while the lamb (which was a very large dish) fell off the bone. Chocolate fondant and some ice cream rounded off which was a lovely meal. Three courses each and a half bottle of wine came to under €80. With the early bird menu my 3 courses were only about €27 which was really good value. Will definitely be returning.

Lohans
232-234 Salthill Upper, Salthill, Galway

Used to eat here quite regularly but stopped going due to the rude service. The food is fine but you don't pay your hard earned cash for ignorant and rude staff to treat you with absolutely no respect. On the plus side, they were doing a fillet steak with all the trimmings for €15.95. Make sure to tell the staff how you'd like your steak cooked as they won't ask. All the trimming I assumed to mean chips, onions and mushrooms. In fact it's mash, carrots and parsnips. The steak was cooked well but was a lone bright spot in an otherwise terrible meal. P.S. Don't ask them to change the TV channel...

Tamarind (Salthill)
157 Upper Salthill, Salthill, Galway City, Galway

A group of four ate there recently. It was early in the evening so the place was very quiet but towards the end of our meal it really picked up-which was surprising for a Tuesday night. The presentation of the food was excellent. I had the lamb rendang which was seasoned perfectly and fell apart on the plate-really was an exquisite dish. Others in the group had veg tempura, nasi goreng and lemon flavoured chicken-every dish went down a treat. Service was excellent throughout. Will definitely be returning.

Cellar Bar
Eglington Street, Galway City, Galway

Have eaten here too many times to remember but never again. Food is average at best-thats only when it arrives. Depending on the staff working and how busy the place is you could be waiting ages. Not the place to go if your looking for a quick lunch. I was waiting for over 35 minutes on this particular day after ordering soup, sandwich and a coffee. Last time I was there they were more interested in servicing the afternoon drinkers than getting food orders in. Not happy and not returning.
