I ate here on Saturday night as part of a hen party, and the food was amazing, there were7 of us eating so we had lots of different dishes and sides, there wasn't much space left on the table but we were happy.. - the Albondigas De Carne (meatballs), Brocheta De Pollo & Patatas Con Chorizo (potatoes with chorizo) were divine I was told that Paella De Carne and the Gambas Al Pil-Pil were ok, they could have been better & the Brocheta De Pescado was a bit small for the price, but very good. The place is a bit crowded, waiting staff & one hit off 2 of us while trying to wait tables down past us. it was an accident, but we felt that we needed to sit as close to the table as possible after that :) but i guess a crowd is a sign the food is good. One of the girls had the pancake for dessert & it was great too. the staff were very friendly and helpful. will defiantly be going back, great place if there is a crowd going that way you can have a taste of everything

I have dined here many many times, and also gotten numerous take-aways, and have found they I have received excellent service and food each time, and all dishes are reasonably priced. The food is always fantastic with amazing flavors, the staff will alter any dish to suit your requirements. Also great for people who are unsure of what to order, the staff are always happy to assist. On some our visits they have kindly offered us many extra dishes to sample The atmosphere may be lacking a bit as the restaurant may be quiet, but the food and service more then make up for it. Quite nice for a romantic meal for two. Its so good i'm going back tonight!! :)

Picaderos Restaurant
Desmond House, Main Street, Maynooth, Kildare

Went back her again last night, love this place and its relaxed atmosphere, as was not disappointed. Everything they have is delightful, so its always difficult to choose, so we orders a bottle of Viña Garria Tempranillo, and then went for the Mixed Mexican Tapas Platter to start off while we decided what to have next, it was all fabulous, the only thing was that there was just one taco despite it being a platter for two, so we had to try to split it. We then ordered more tapas, Patatas Bravas, Jamón ‘Croquettas’ with garlic Aioli dip,Chorizo (it was a massive portion), Prawns al Ajillo, all scrumptious, we decided to go for dessert instead of more tapas, and the Churros con Chocolate came recommended, my friend had them they were divine, I decided to be good and went for the Sorbet 43 as a refreshing option, it also had fresh strawberries, it was also quite a large portion, but was devoured. The service as always was second to none, and you did not feel they were in a rush to get you to leave which is always nice, you could sit back and chat in comfort over a second bottle of wine. Cant wait to go back again.

Siam Thai (Malahide)
1 The Green, North Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

This was my second time to eat here and once again it didn't disappoint.Fabulous atmosphere, the live music is great yet its still nice and relaxed, and the food was amazing. i had the chicken satay to start, and my other half had the Siam Combo, the satay sauce was amazing. For main i went with the Chicken Chillies & Thai Herbs and he went for the Duck Tamarind Sauce, we both went with fried rice, both were fantastic, nice sized portions, we were not able for dessert afterwards. :) The service was excellent, they could not have done more. it is a bit more expensive compare to other restaurant, but i think it is worth it. I can't wait to go back.

Taste of Brazil
32 Parliament St, Temple bar, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

We went here last friday night as we wanted to try something different, There was a musician playing in the background which was nice, and the decor was bright and fresh, but I felt the restaurant itself was chilly. The waiter could not have been more attentive, even found a bottle of wine they thought they were out of for us. For starters I had the Brazilian cottage pie made with chicken and topped with cheese (can't remember the name), it was lovely, my boyfriend had the "Kibe", which was ok, but a bit bland and we felt that it was slightly cold. For mains, i had been looking forward to the 10 oz fillet with lime butter since i looked at the menu and made the reservation, but they didn't have any that night :(, so i tried the "Alcatra ao alho" which is Rump steak with garlic and fried cassava, I found the "cassava" was like a potato consistency, that was server deep fried, and was very tasty, the rump steak I found very garlicy (which i love, but it was a bit much) the I requested to be medium well, i found steak was a bit chewy, but overall was ok. My boyfriend had the "Picanha com farofa" which is Rump steak served with farofa, cooked medium rare. was a lot more juicy and tender, and the chips were lovely. Overall it was an ok night, the food was a nice change, there was not too much of a mark up on the wines, however a lot of the menu items were not available, but that might have been just that particular night, but I'd give the place another go again, hopefully they will have the 10oz fillet then ;)

Noble House
17 Dame Street, City Centre South, Dublin

I have eaten here many times and it is always great. On Saturday we (myself and my boyfriend) decided to eat early so we went with the early bird menu. We had a bottle of house white wine and to start we both had the Yuk Sung, very tasty, and a large portion too. For mains I had the a chicken dish i hadn't seen on the menu before, must be a new addition, it was chicken with chilli, and coconut (there was also something else listed in the name but i can't remember, it was lighter than their fab peanut and coconut dish i normally get) it was so so good. he had beef with green pepper & black bean and it was great too, we got fried rice with both. we found that the portions are still very generous even though it is an early bird menu. As always the service was second to none & there were not rushing us to leave. I can't wait to go back again.

The Mercantile
Dame Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate here with my mam and boyfriend in dec and thought it was nice, but it was very quite for a Saturday. We just wanted main courses, and we went for the Char grilled Sirloin Steak & French fried onions. The steaks were great, cooked perfectly. The service was good but a bit slow, we had to wait a long time to order a second drink during the meal as there only seemed to be one waitress on at the time. but we would defiantly go back again for a steak dinner if around dame street!

The Bull & Castle and F.X. Buckley Steakhouse
5-7 Lord Edward Street, Christchurch, Dublin 8, City Centre South, Dublin

I ate here for the first time on Saturday evening with my boyfriend and it was amazing! We ordered a bottle of chilian Sauvignon Blanc, it was fab, but i can't remember the name. I had the start that was on special that evening, grilled chicken, with black pudding & apple chutney on a bed of rocket, all i can say is wow, my boyfriend had the Seafood Chowder which to both our surprise was tomato based with a hint of spicyness, it was delicious! For mains, we both went for steaks, I had the 10Oz Dry Aged Sirloin Steak with the Home Cut Chips with the Wild Mushroom And Belgian Beer Sauce, and he had the 12 Oz Dry Aged Rib Eye Steak with the mash & pepper sauce. both cooked to perfection. we also ordered a side of onions and a side of mushrooms, the portions were huge but we managed to clear all. lol By the time it came around to dessert we were both stuffed, but couldn't pass up the Warm Chocolate Brownie with Ice cream and Bushmills’ Butterscotch sauce, as we saw others getting it when we went in and it smelled delectable. It was amazing and can easily be shared between 2 ppl! Can't wait to go back! where our biggest problem will be deciding what to order as there is so much to choose from. Luv this place, its defiantly a new favourite!

Jewel in the Crown (South William Street)
5 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I ate here for the first time about 2 weeks ago, and found it to be very good. From the outside it seems like a small place but there is another large dining section downstairs. There were lots of people in the restaurant which is always a good sign. Upon arrival we were informed that the early bird menu is on until 8pm (which is great) plenty of choice on the early bird menu. I had the tandoori chicken to start & my boyfriend had the Seekh Kebab. both were very nice. For mains, I had chicken Masala, and my boyfriend had the chicken Karai, we found that the main portions were just the right size, as I find that sometimes when you go to an Indian restaurant the portions are too big. The cheese Naan bread was delectable. The house wine was also very reasonable. Overall a very nice dining experience & I would happily go back.

The Cedar Tree
11a St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Decided to try lebenese for a change, and found the Cedar tree was fantastic. I got the to Shanklish (a spicy feta cheese with tomatoes) to start, which i found to be a bit chalky, but the hommos my boyfriend got was fantastic. I opted for the Shish Taouk for mains, it was fantastic, the chicken was very moist and had a fab sauce on the side. My boyfriend went for Kafta Kishkash, which was also great. We greadily ordered 2 portions of Spiced Potatoes, where one would have been more than enough to share between the 2 of us. They were also fantastic. We weren't able for dessert as the portions were massive, but we hope to try some on our next visit. The decor was very authentic looking, but as there was only one other couple in the restaurant it was a bit quiet (but our visit was midweek)

Odessa

Heard great things about this place and we were not dissapointed. Everything was fab! I had the Chorizo, Red Wine And Chickpea Stew from the fivers menu to start, and my boyfriend had the calamari, both were outstanding! hugh portions. I then had the steak and he had the Duck, both were perfect also, and the wine list was great. We both enjoyed te food so much we can't wait to go back for the weekend brunch menu!!

Casa Nostra (Dublin)
5-7 Cloncourt, Main Street, Clonee, Clonee, Dublin

I have visited this restaurant several times, and sampled each of thier menu options, lunch, early bird and "a le carte" menu, and found it very enjoyable each time. Lunch Menu was very good, all pasta's and pizza's were offered on a smaller scale & price, the only bad thing we found was that as we were quite a large group, we found that some of us ended up waiting some time for the main course to arrive. The Early Bird menu which is very good value for moneywith a great selection to choose from. Portions in Casa Nostra are always quite substantial no mater which menu you sample. The standard menu is great and regularly update with new and exciting dishes, and they also offer a specials board. Overall, I have found the food to be quite tasty, service very good, and the prices seem fair for the portion size. Looking forward to going back!
