We eat here twice a month and we can honestly say this is the best burger in Dublin! The service here is always with a smile and the menu is clever with an abundance of ingredients for your burger available. We usually choose the burger on a salad option and it is plentiful and delicious. Our top tips for The Counter... choose the Morrocan Orange Dressing for your sauce and don't leave the bar without tasting the key lime pie!!

Eatery 120
120 Ranelagh Road, Ranelagh, Dublin

My finance and I had been waiting for a while before we were able to book a table for a Friday night sitting and we were not disappointed. We were shown to a corner table by the window overlooking the bustling Ranelagh road below. The lighting was low, the decor was slightly dated (not in a bad way) and the service was friendly and efficent. The food is quite expensive but is very well cooked seasoned and presented. My finace had the chicken breast while I had the fish offering and both were cooked to perfection with the respective suaces complimenting the dishes very well. Well worth the visit and we would go again!

Marios (Ranelagh)
39 Ranelagh Village, Dublin 6, Ranelagh, Dublin

Mario's really is your run of the mill italian offering and not the best in Dublin by a long way. Saying that, the service is always friendly and efficent and the athmosphere when full can be quite nice. The last occasion we went was on a Thursday evening and it was more or less empty. The food is reasonably priced and the pizza my finance ordered was nice. I ordered pasta with chicken and while tasty (it did lack seasoning I thought), was nothing I couldn't have made myself at home. Mario's is a nice Italian restaurant, but would I go there again?.... probably not...

Er Buchetto
71 Ranelagh Village, South Dublin, Ranelagh, Dublin

We have been visiting Er Buchetto on and off for the last three years and have never been disappointed. Er Buchetto is the perfect spot for a stress free breakfast or tasty brunch. The place is really small so at weekends it can be difficult to get a seat especially at peak times, but if you get one, the athmosphere is great and the service is always fast and friendly. The panini's on offer are made with Ciabatta bread and are the best I have had in Dublin with a very wide selection. If you order a salad this also comes with a toasted Ciabatta bread on the side. On this occasion I ordered the Tomatoe and Mozzarella salad and had a glass of fresh Orange Juice and Capuchino to cap it all off. Everything was very tasty. My finance had a panini containing italian meat, sundried tomatoe, cheese and fresh salad and she loved it! The hot choclate and selection of fresh "mini" cakes are also well worth a try. Value - You are probably paying more than your average prices for this sort of food but then again, for casual breakfast and brunch food, I really don't think you will do any better!

Wrights Findlater Howth Restaurant
Findlater House, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

We have been here twice, once in the bar and the other in the upstairs restaurant. Both experiences have been very enjoyable. Service is always extremely friendly and with a smile and also very efficent. The food is really well presented and seasoned. We both had the Atlantic Cod on this latest occasion which was presented on a bed of leeks and all sitting in a dish of mild curry sauce with mussells. The only criticism we have is that the curry was in soup portions and the dish would have been better served with this drizzled in less quantity over the dish. The calamari starter as well as the sea food chowder are both exquisite and we would highly recommend. To top it all off the moist choclate brownie with ice cream is a must have! Value - Early bird menu for 19.95 for two course is worth it for what you get.

My fiance and I visted here on recommendation from a work collegue and we were not disappointed. The restaurant faces out onto the sea and is well decorated and cosy. The service was excellent, quick and non intrusive. The food was simple italian cooked very well and the chocolate fudge cake is a must! We would definately recommend for a a nice evening out for family's, friends or just couples.

The Lobster Pot
9 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

This is our first review on this site but we have been eating in restaurants all over Dublin for 3 years now since we moved here and The Lobster Pot was hands down the worst experience we have had. I first heard of The Lobster Pot years and years ago (roughly 15 years ago!) from an Uncle of mine who claimed it was one of the best restaurants in Dublin and so finally after saving for a couple of weeks my fiance and I decided to give it a try. On arrival we were greeted by a pleasant host who seated us. The pleasant service ended there. Three of the older staff who waited on us over the course of the evening were quite curt and disinterested. The food - The starters were average and not worth a mention (they were acceptable in a casual dining early bird menu). We were then convinced to order the special of the day which was not on the menu. This was to be fresh Cod with Prawns in a light white sauce. On arrival this was simple in the extreme and while nice I feel confident I could have russled the same flavours up at home with minimal effort. Prawns? We got three small ones each.We were then asked if we would like some sides of potato and vegetables. Expecting to get a side plate each, a waiter arrived and spooned two table spoons (one each) of pureed carrot and one table spoon each of mashed potato. We could tell immediatley (owing to the dried sides of his serving dish) that these had been microwaved. They did not taste much better. We noticed a waiter a little later with a desert trolley. Only three tables had customers at this point and he returned to the kitchen without offering us our choice. Deflated and defeated we decided to leave and had difficulty summoning our bill. When it arrived we were a shocked. 2 mediocre starters,2 mediocre mains,1 coffee, the bill was 130 euro which included a service charge of 18 euro's! Our one spoon of microwaved carrot and mash cost us 4 euro each! The Lobster Pot is clearly living on past glories. Stay well clearn
