Excellent food, great service. Its just a pity that it is very quiet. This restaurant should be out the door with customers as the food is always great. The brie is so good, steaks perfect, fish excellent. Love this placeCuisine:

The Gatehouse
Main Street, Maynooth, Kildare, Maynooth, Kildare
The gatehouse is as good as ever. The early bird menu is the best value in Maynooth, the menu is practically the same as the a la carte but such a great price. €27 for three courses and nice big portions. This is a great spot for large groups, we had a table of 10 and we were well looked after. I recommend the Pate and wings as starters and the steaks are great, the chunky chips are gorgeous. My favorite, orange creme brulee is still on the menu. The coffee is really good too.

Bistro 53
Main St, Maynooth, Maynooth, Kildare
Another great meal in Bistro53, this is my special occasion restaurant as its such a treat. I had the seabass which was perfect as usual, my partner had the rib eye steak which he really enjoyed. For dessert I had the panna cotta and it was divine. The atmosphere in Bistro 53 is lovely and the service is top notch. Oh and the cocktails are fab!

The Gatehouse
Main Street, Maynooth, Kildare, Maynooth, Kildare
Wow! The food here is excellent, best meal i have had in a long time. Its the only restaurant in Maynooth with an early bird past 7pm, €19 for two courses and €24 for three. The buffalo wings were gorgeous, kind of sweet and full of flavour, and a nice big portion. We had Rib eye steak chargrilled to perfection with the most amazing chips, hake in a red pepper and cream sauce which was excellent. Dessert was a lovely vanilla and orange creme brulee, just fab. Can\'t wait to go back!

River King Chinese Restaurant
Main Street, Celbridge, Kildare
Best chinese restaurant around, the food is freshly cooked, really tasty and great value. I always get the buffet deal for 17.95 which is all you can eat but its a sit down buffet, no queing for food which is sitting around all night, here you give your order for starters first and the food is brought to you at your table, after the fab startes you can then order your mains, the chicken wings, ribs and curries are gorgeous, everything is gorgeous. Takeway food is also amazing, its the only chinese i order from. This place is great for groups and family get togethers and it looks great too. Five stars all round.

Oak Alley Restaurant and Cocktail Bar
Main Street, Maynooth, Kildare, Maynooth, Kildare
I really enjoyed the food in this restaurant, I have been to most of the restaurants in Maynooth and this was up there as one of the best. I visited oak alley on a Tuesday evening for the early bird which is grat value, I had calamari which was excellent and salmon for main, really good. My partner had a ham hock croquette which he really enjoyed followed by Steak which was full of flavour. The service was perfect and it is a fab looking restaurant inside. I will definitely return here, I just wish that the early bird didn\'t finish at 6.45, it\'s a bit too early, especially on a week night.

Da Mario
Maynooth Road, Celbridge, Kildare
Really enjoyed the meal in Da Marios, the food has definitely improved. I had the seabass which was excellent and the rest of the party had pasta dishes, the pasta here has always been very good. I plan to return very soon.

Boulevard Cafe
27 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
I had a voucher for Boulevard cafe and we visited on Sunday 26th October. We ordered rustic breads with dips for a starter as we didnt fancy any of the other starters available on the menu. the breads were lovely and fresh. For mains I had the duck which was cooked prefectly and accompanied potato dauphinause and baby carrots. My partner had the steak and home made chips, he really enjoyed it. We both had desserts, baileys chesecake and berry almond cheesecake. Wine list was okay, not much to choose from. Overall enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin
Great food and service but a little overpriced

Annadale Cottage Chinese Restaurant
Leixlip Rd, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin
Just got a takeaway from here so cant comment on the restaurant but I really didnt enjoy the food from the takeaway. The barbecue sauce was more like an odd tasting gravy and the squid was like rubber. This will put me off trying the restaurant food as its a bad sign.

Carrolls Gastro pub
1-2 Demense View, Main Street, Lucan, Dublin
I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere in Carrolls. I had the calamari which was excellent, crispy and fresh. I then had fillet steak and I was very happy with it, perfectly cooked and came with great home made chips and creamy pepper sauce. I will definitely be going back to Carrolls again.

Beckett's
Cooldrinagh House, Leixlip, Kildare
Lovely restaurant and great staff but a bit overpriced, I wouldnt go unless I had a voucher. Compulsory service charge is a bit much too.

Picaderos Restaurant
Desmond House, Main Street, Maynooth, Kildare
This is a lovely place, great atmosphere and staff. The food is very good but unfortunately my steak was a bit over although my partner's was perfect. The calamari is better that Ive had in Spain and the deep fried brie was excellent. I had churros for dessert, they were a bit greasy but they came with a lovely ice cream.

Milano (Blanchardstown)
Blanchardstown Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin
I eat in this restaurant a lot and brought my teenage son on recent visit. I had the bruschetta con funghi to start as always, its the reason I come back time and again. I then had a leggero pizza, goats cheese and low fat, its gorgeous. My son had garlic bread and pizza and loved both. I had to have my favourite banoffie pie for dessert while my son had a mini brownie and hot chocolate. Not only was it a great meal, I had Tesco vouchers so it didn\'t cost me a cent. Love Milano\'s!

Green's Restaurant
Main Street, Celbridge, Celbridge, Kildare
Nice restaurant with nice food. There are three different menus to choose from which means lots of choice. I had pate for starter, really enjoyed that, my friend had the green salad with rissoles, not what he expected but it tasted nice and fresh. A few of my friends had steaks which were very good, I have had the rib eye here before and it was great. I had plaice in tarragon butter, it was nice, a bit too much butter. The veg and mash was lovely. Wine is reasonable and overall food is a good price.

La Banca Ristorante
Main Street, Lucan Village, Lucan, Dublin
This was my third time in La Banca and I really love the place. Food is some of the best Ive tasted, atmosphere is really nice and I love the way the food is presented. On this visit I had a salmon terrine which was light and tasty, for main I had rib eye steak, it was so good, the meat is all organic and free range and you can really taste the difference. I had a voucher on this visit which was great value but all in all the prices are pretty good considering the quality of the food. I cant wait to go back.

Brasserie 7
The Capel Building, Capel Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
Myself and my partner ate here using a deal voucher. The restaurant was lovely with a great atmosphere. We had a three course meal with a bottle of wine for €39, what a bargain. We had chicken wings and ribs to start, they were very good. I had fillet steak on a stone, my first time trying it and I loved it, it came with three sauces and homemade chunky chips. My partner also had steak, rib eye, he really enjoyed that too. For dessert I had a chocolate mousse cake, really good but very rich. This restaurant is in a great central location and its well worth a visit.

JP's Steakhouse
28 Dominick Street, Mullingar, Westmeath
While staying in Mullingar for the weekend we decided to try this restaurant and Im glad we did. The food was amazing, starters included fried brie and calamari, both really good. The rib eye steak was the best my partner had tasted and the medallions of fillet were lovely too. Desserts were also really good. I would definetely go back if Im ever in Mullingar again, I might even drive over there sometime as it would be well worth it.

Darwins
80 Aungier Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
I really enjoyed the food in Darwins, I had heard some good things about this restuarant and had been looking forward to going for a while. I had the mozzarella to start, it was lovely and fresh. My partner had the chilli prawns which were great too. We both had steaks, probably the best steak I have ever had, it was cooked to perfection. The dessert was okay, I probably didnt enjot it as much after the huge fillet steak. The wine was good value and really nice too. Overall I really enjoyed this restuarant.

101 Talbot
Talbot Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
Had dinner her on a Saturday evening at about 6pm and it was prettey busy for that time of day. I had the pheasant with roast potatoes and sprouts, it was my first time to try pheasant and I thought it was lovely. There was some tough meat but the majority was nice, the sprouts were a bit too hard but the roast potatoes were really good. My friend had pork belly which she really enjoyed and it came with fab mash and cabbage, the only downside was that there was no crackling. For dessert I had a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake, my god it was something else, the nicest I had ever tasted, my friend ordered the chocolate brownie but found it to cocoa-like and bitter, desserts were huge too. I would definetely go again.

Da Mario
Maynooth Road, Celbridge, Kildare
I ate her New Years eve with a friend and two children. I would normally travel to an Italian restuarant outside Celbridge but it was last minute so decided to stay local. The restaurant was quiet enough but it was early, I had a bruscetta to start which was lovely and I had a pasta witn smoked salmon for main, really good. The kids had pizza's of course, they loved them. The wine we ordered was an Italian red for about €25, it was excellent. The bill came to just over €110 for the four of us, that included garlic bread and two desserts so not bad, a little bit more expensive than other Italian restaurants that Ive eaten at.

Green's Restaurant
Main Street, Celbridge, Celbridge, Kildare
We had a family dinner here on a Friday night and I really enjoyed the food. Just €19.95 for two courses including a glass of house wine or €50 for a couple for 3 courses with bottle of wine. I had a crab tartlet to start, it was really good and salmon for main was lovely, I always enjoy the salmon in Greens. The house red was lovely too. I tasted the duck and I loved that too, the menu is really up to date and varied. Its a great restuarant for a family meal, quiet and cosy.
Spurs Family Restaurant
U42 Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Liffey Valley, Liffey Valley, Dublin
Went here for lunch with some work colleagues and had a nice meal. We ordered a platter between us to start, it had lovely nachos, falafel and wings with dips. I had the 7oz sirloin and it was really good, the chips are lovely and the fried onions are really great. Two of the party had 10oz sirloins and there wasnt much difference between mine and theirs, except for the price, 7oz is about €15 and 10oz is €23, thats a big jump in price. I always find that Spurs is a bit hit and miss, but it was definetely a hit this time.

Michelangelo (Kildare)
Main Street, Celbridge, Kildare
I ate here recently with family and most of us had the early bird special which I think is running all day during November, it usually finishes at 7/8pm. I had prawn cocktail to start which was nice and a good size for a starter, I had the sirloin steak for main and it was one of the best steaks I have ever had, cooked to perfection. The veg was really nice, cauliflower with cheese sauce, gratin potato, absolutely lovely. The wine selection is very good and we had a chianti which was quite reasonable price and tasted excellent. The pizza menu is very good and the garlic bread is fab. I have to say that I really enjoyed the food in Michelangelo's, I had eaten there before, a few years ago and I think it has actually improved over the years.

Miss Wong - Old
Ralph Square, Leixlip, Kildare
This was my second time at this restaurant, having only been here three weeks previously. Five of us went for a meal and a few drinks and we loved it. We shared starters of king prawn rolls, satay skewers and barbecue spare ribs, all really good. We also tried the meat sung, the best I ever had. The mains included kung po chicken and chilli beef, but the best by far has to be the Char Sui(pork). Its amazing and enough to feed two people. The food is reasonably priced but far better tasting than most chinese restaurants I have been to. We hope to go back soon for a birthday celebration, cant wait!

The River Room @ The K Club
The K Club, Straffan, Kildare
I invited my mother and family here for mothers day( I think it was 22nd March) as the restaurant ws having a special Mothers day promotion. I had never been to the k club and thought it would be great to see the place as well as to eat there. I was told when booking that our meals would include a complimentary glass of wine, even better! We arrived at the restaurant which was nice enough, not as grand as I was expecting and our waitress was lovely. We had to ask could we order drinks after about ten minutes and we also asked about our complimentary wine, which was news to our waitress and all other staff, we never got any. I had crab to start which was nice, could have done with a dip as it was a tempura. All in all the starters were nice. We all ordered the roast beef which was carved at the table, so by the time the last person got theirs, food was cold. The gravy/jus with the beef was very odd, ruined the dish. The vegetables were laughable, three french beans and some artichoke. Desserts were laid out as a buffet and were all unpleasant except for the cheesecake which was passable. All in all, we were pretty disappointed and will not go back, the worst thing was, we didnt even get an answer about the complimentary wine, they just looked at us oddly and it was never mentioned again. I wouldnt have minded, except it was the recepionist who offered it in the first place.

Milano (Dawson Street)
38 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
I went to Milanos on Dawson Street on a Sunday night just before Christmas. It was busy but had a great atmosphere. We ordered a bottle of Sparkling Rose which was lovely and not too expensive. We shared a starter as we always do, it was Risotto which was lovely but a bit too small for sharing. For mains we had pizza and pasta, both were really nice, the pasta with pesto was creamy and really tasty and the pizza was covered in jalapenos and chilli, hot but very good. Overall, a really good night and I have been dying to go back ever since.

The Mucky Duck
Main Street, Celbridge, Celbridge, Kildare
I used to love this place but I was there recently and had the caesar salad, definitely not as nice as it used to be and the chicken tenders with sweet chili sauce were ok, nothing special. It was around €6.50 for each starter which is ok. The pub is nice and comfortable, especially upstairs, its a pity that its not a bit busier.

Da Vincis Restaurant (Leixlip)
Main Street, Leixlip, Kildare
Went here for dinner with a friend and two children. The food was lovely, pizza's for the kids, which were really nice. I had a pasta dish with some pesto sauce, it was nice, a little bland for my taste but I enjoyed it. The desserts are fab, we had banoffie between two and we couldnt even finish it, it was huge. The kids were given some dough and had a ball making shapes and stuff.

Jasmine Palace (Limerick)
O'Connell Street, Limerick City, Limerick
Seven of us went here while in Limerick for the weekend and we found the place great. It was a birthday celebration and we got a cake which was really fresh and good value. The food was great and its a really top class restaurant. Lots of cocktails available too.
