Alas! I should have got the early bird! Ordered a starter which at €16 I thought was going to be hot and exciting. But it was cold meat and a few lettuce leaves. Totally way over priced. Ordered lobster, which tasted good but there was not enough of it. A small amount in the half shell. Went home disappointed and hungry. Will definately be back but not for A La Carte. Will stick to the early bird in future.

Went yesterday for the first time. Food was delicious. Friendly service. Lovely warm atmosphere.

Kopitiam
53 Capel Street, Dublin , City Centre North, Dublin

Grumpy greeting from waitress. Because I did not book 24 hours in advance! I see you have many tables free? She did not like this at all and took ages to take my order. Had soup. Loads of meatless chicken bones. Never again. Sorry Kopitiam.

I enjoyed my meal here. Food is lovely and waitress very friendly. Reasonable prices too.

The Old Boro Public House & Restaurant
Main Street, Swords, Dublin

Was fairly quiet. Staff very friendly. Service was super speedy and large breakfast was fantastic. Only one comment is not enough butter. One tiny butter for a slice of toast and a big slice of soda bread is not enough. Everything else was perfect! Will be back.

Love this restaurant. Just had a fantastic lunch. Big dish with rice , veg, spicy sauce, beef and egg on the top, served up with a bowl of Miso Soup. Great value €6.90! Fast service and really friendly staff.

Fiorentina
40 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Nine of us. Service was so very slow we were almost ready to eat the serviettes! It was almost an hour before we got our food! The restaurant was not even full. Two girls had wine and were very upset. The menu reads per glass or caraffe. So the bottle of wine that they had was 29 euro and not €23! Very misleading. One person had the pasta with mushrooms but asked for it to be reheated and sent it back because it was cold. They returned it to her and she said it was exactly the same temperature. The food was tasty however.

Had a wonderful breakfast/brunch in here today. The waiter was friendly and music was good. I will go back again.

Wasabi Japanese Restaurant
1 Main street , 1st Floor, Malahide, Dublin

Saturday night and it was pretty empty, but saying that it did get a little busier when we were leaving. This is our 3rd time here using vouchers. Food is okay. I prefered my starter, Chicken Karange, to my main course. Have yet to try the sushi.

Damascus Gate
10 Upper Camden Street, Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

Very nice place. Music was rather loud. Lots of people came in and seem to just disappear out the back. Guessing they have a large seating area out there for family parties. Alot of coriander! Food was good. I had chicken wings. And then a lamb dish. The meat was very tender. The staff were ever so friendly and looked after us well. Next time we wil try the Mezes. That looked fab!

El Bahia Moroccan Restaurant
37 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Used a menupages voucher so twas really good value for money. It was freezing cold outside but the restaurant was warm and the lighting had a glowing, romantic effect. The decor is stunning - very authentic. The waiter was very friendly and highly efficient and easy -on-the-eye!. I was suffering with a bad cold and was on paracetamol and my husband was driving so we said we did not want the glass of wine each so we had a soft drink instead. I was very impressed when he brought over another drink for us both, later on in the evening at no extra cost.He ran the place with such ease and he maintained a great atmosphere. We will be back for sure.

Wasabi Japanese Restaurant

Used a voucher but as we had had a very long journey we decided to get take-away. They explained that because we wanted to use the voucher we we be charged restaurant prices but was a bit mean but we agreed. We ate here before and we had some lovely starters which came with salads but these salads were not included in our take-away. The food is LOVELY but expensive for what you get. :(

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant
154 Parnell Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Two of us ate here. We were the only ones in there. We have been before so were pleased to re-visit. Lovely food. I had a Menupages voucher and unbeknown to me it had expired at the end of April! So paid full price for what we had and the Owner/Manager gave us a €20 gift voucher which was most kind of him! Very happy. :)

F.X. BUCKLEY Steakhouse Pembroke Street
1A Lower Pembroke Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I like this place. I go here every so often for lunch. I had a wonderful seafood chowder with bread and butter. It was delicious! Unfortunately my main course was very disappointing. I had not had it in here before but I have eaten it often as it is a fav of mine.It was Beef Bourguignon. The sauce was far too rich. The meat was really tough with fat/gristle. I could not eat it in the end. Next time I will stick to the fish and chips which I know they do rather well.

That's Amore - Malahide
12 Townyard Lane, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Went here early on a Sunday. We had a special email voucher so it was a good reason to try out the place. Not too busy when we got there but filled up quite fast. Food was delicious. Our waitress was very efficient/friendly. All in all I would recommend this restaurant as it has a warm cosy atmosphere.

Went here for lunch today - three of us. We all had a starter and a main course and it came to just under €30. Yummy food and a yummy price!

Bon Appetit
9 James Terrace, Malahide, Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Two of us ate here and when they realised it was my husband's birthday he was treated to a champagne cocktail. They also did a rather clever "Happy Birthday" on his dessert plate. We were looked after very well and had a lovely leisurely Lunch. We went for the Roast which was delicious! In fact when I joined their loyalty card scheme (via website) I was credited with 2 x Kir Royales. We will return.

Hugo's
6 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Early bird enjoyed by 6 people. Good value food priced competetivly with other good restaurants in the area for Early bird. They make up for it on the wine - There is no "House" wine.So expect to pay dosh for the old vino! They did not charge us for my orange juice and also for the coffee and teas that we had at the end which I thought was jolly decent of them! Full house. Lovely atmosphere and service was friendly and efficient. Will go back 100% sure of that!

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Swords)
Pavillion Shopping Centre, Malahide Road, Swords, Dublin

Went here for some eats. Had chicken wings for starters. Burger chips and a large coke. Over 26 euro - it is very expensive. Not too keen on going there again. Better value to be found elsewhere. I did not like the fact that my main course was put on the table before I had finished my starter. And then I had to ask one of the waitresses to take away my starter plate. Also we wondered why they did not provide a finger bowl as the chicken wings are exteremely messy and a normal napkin does not clean up enough.

profile_review

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Went here for lunch. Ceasar salad starter did not have enough dressing on it and the meagre pieces of chicken were dried up. Not great at all -have had better salads at my local fast food outlet! Main course was nice but nothing special. No vegetables were served with the main courses so there was not much food on your dinner plate. Nothing special and rather expensive for what it was - very mediocre. Service was good but food was very forgetable.

Angel Park Eatery
5 Lower Mount Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We booked a table as there were alot of us. Always ask for a table away from the door otherwise you get a really cold rush of air each time the door opens. Try and eat early or late as when the place is full the acoustics are so bad that it is very noisy and you have to shout to be heard. Would go here more often but it is too expensive to do that. Lovely food though. Great service.Good for special lunches.

profile_review

Peacocks Bar
Rivervalley Shopping Centre, Swords, Dublin

We ate here on a Saturday evening. Booked a table but it was not that full after all. Service and welcome was excellent. Starters were good, main course delicious but desserts were not great so will skip them next time we visit. And we definately will be back! Pricey enough now at €84 something considering we both only had one soft drink each ie no alcohol.

Hush Brasserie
12A New Street Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

There was a group of us that all had the early bird. Overall it was very enjoyable. Some of the group were annoyed that there were no vegetables served with the main course. I told them that some restaurants are really stingy and you have to order them and pay for them seperatly. They complained to the waitress who told us that the girl that took our order was new that night and that she should have advised us to order veg as a side dish. I ordered homemade burger, salad and fries. Well the "salad" was one slice of thin tomato and a lettuce leaf in the burger bap! For goodness sake what is wrong with these places that they cant put a few carrots and peas on the plate! Apart from the bread and butter pudding which was very small, not hot and to be quite honest lacked any flavour at all, the evening was enjoyed by all.

Wrights Cafe Bar

Went here for Suday lunch with my husband. Nice place and handy for the free car park. Lovely food, friendly staff and good value. Will return in the future.

Aqua Restaurant
1 West Pier, Howth, Dublin 13, Howth, Dublin

I went to Aqua with my husband on a Saturday for the early bird deal which is excellent value. We had a lovely funny waitor who was friendly without being over the top. The food was delicious, the service was great and we will definatly be returning.

Bar Italia
26 Blooms Lane , Lower Ormond Quay, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin

Don't get your hopes up with this one! Very middle-of-the-road Italian food. Menu selection is very limited. Boring even. I ordered the pasta with mushroom in cream sauce. There was no sauce and it was very dry and stodgy. The portion size was what you would give to a child or an OAP. I stared at my plate and thought "Is that it?"!!! - I had to fill up with bread and butter. Two tiny scoops of Ice cream in a drinking glass was rather steep at 5 euro! Not very exciting at all. Other desserts portions were tiny. Yawn, yawn. Sorry Bar Italia but we won't be back!

Jo'Burger
137 Rathmines Road, Dublin 6 , South Dublin, Rathmines, Dublin

Nice place. Very young. Took a long time for food to arrive but it was a busy Friday lunchtime. Next time I will phone through my order as I will definitely be back. Yummy food!

Nautilus
9 Marine Court, The Green, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Went for the early bird on a Saturday evening. (Before 7pm). Not too full however there were three young adult women who were laughing really loud and one was cackling like an old witch! We could not hear each other speak. They were very noisy! I felt the waitor should have asked them to keep the noise down as the other diners (not just us) found it very irritating judging by the looks on their faces. Apart from that the service was friendly and good. The food was just fantastic. You could have 2 courses or all three courses. Really, really yummy food!

Dobbins Restaurant
15 Stephen Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I have eaten here on numerous occasions but the last 3 occasions have been very disappointing. (I am referring to lunchtimes and early bird meals by the way - I cannot comment on the evening dining). The meat is often tough, the veg is scarce ( one plates of veg and one plate of potatoes is just not enough for seven people!)On the last 2 trips there we had to ask for more. The "Sumo" chips are always uncooked in the middle so inevitably get left on the plate. The carrots are unpeeled and are NOT topped and toed - in other words you get the WHOLE carrot.- Is this fasionable or just lazy???? The potatoes are plain boiled - they are ok but what happened to the delicious saute potatoes you always used to serve aswell? The peas are like little bullets. My work colleagues and I used to really, really rate Dobbins as the best place around here to eat but now we no longer go there.

Samphire @ The Waterside
The Waterside House Hotel, Near Swords, Donabate, Donabate, Dublin

This is a small restaurant in the fabulously situated Waterside House Hotel. It is a lovely place to go after a walk on the beach, or for a meal for two or indeed a family night out. The staff are friendly. The service was perfect and I have to say the food was excellent. I look forward to dining here again.

profile_review

Indian Brasserie
Butterfield Avenue, Rathfarnham Village, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Have to agree with Dardoz's review. Can only speak for the buffet though. Although starters were great, there was a selection of 2 main courses plus 2 vegetable dishes for main courses. Not nice at all. Lamb and chicken were as tough as old boots. Sauces tasted like those in jars from supermarket. Most people left their meat. Service was excellent however, very friendly, just a shame the food was not up to scratch.

Siam Thai (Malahide)
1 The Green, North Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Had the early bird menu for Sunday Lunch at €23 per head. Sunday its 1pm - 7pm) Food was nice but starters were a bit on the small side. Plenty of curry but not enough rice to go with it. Most places would offer you more rice but we were not offered any more. Very surprised that tea or coffee was not included as is the case in most places. I enjoyed the excellent food but it was by no means filling.

Chai Yo

Best Lunch deal around. €12.50 for starter/main course/tea or coffee. Food is delicious. Service is fast and Staff are lovely people. We come here once a week. Yummy

Chungs (Donabate)
Unit 1, Ballisk Cresent, Donabate, Donabate, Dublin

Nice restaurant. Good food. A little expensive though. Takeaway is almost but (not quite) the same price as sitting in. I do use this restaurant quite a lot but it would not be my number one favourite. Most places give you a free bag of prawn crackers if your take-away is more that 20 euro. Not this one though. :-( squeek squeek!

profile_review

Swords Garden Chinese Restaurant
U 7 Castle Shopping CentreSwords, Swords, Dublin

Swords Garden is a very busy takeaway with a small restaurant. I have used both and have never been disappointed. The early bird Mon - Fri is really good value for money with 2 courses for €13.50 plus 10% service charge. The waiters are very friendly and polite. This is not my nearest Chinese eatery by a long way, but we would sooner drive here than eat at the two nearer places to our home!

profile_review

Pink Elephant
Mains Court, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

Nice place but food is very, very average. Went there for somebody's birthday. Was not offered wine menu and not even asked if we wanted to order any drinks. Just a jug of tap water was served to us. Smallest spring rolls I have ever seen! Vegetables (broccoli) were too hard and undercooked. Not good for OAP who was with us! Nothing special about the food at all. |Not cheap either for what you got. We were rather disappointed at the end of the evening. :-(
