Pho Ta Vietnamese Restaurant

Horrible experience. Chicken (not sure if it was chicken) was grey and grizzly. Waitress seemed vague and uninterested

Le Bon Crubeen
81-82 Talbot Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

ordered pumpkin bhajis with grilled haloumi. The cheese was lovely but he bhajis greasy and tasteless. The lettuce was fine but I have no idea what the dressing was as it somehow managed to taste of nothing. For pudding I ordered the cheesecake, which was so sweet and lacking in any discernible flavour. It seemed like it was overly processed and certainly not home made. I really expected more from this restaurant, as it seems to get positive reviews. When compared with other restaurants managing to serve food at a similar price, it falls miserably short. I would not return

Gotham Cafe
8 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

ordered chicken with sweet potato chips. The chicken portion was tiny and the chips whilst delicious, were fairly scarce. The meal was served on a wooden board, rather than a plate, which doesn't exactly fill me with glee. I was still really hungry leaving the restaurant and had to stop on my way home

TGI Friday (Temple Bar)
19/20 Fleet St, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

ordered the shanghai salad and was bitterly disappointed. Basically I was served a massive place of lettuce with a few orange segments and very little else. The sauce was non-existent and the lettuce was in huge lumps. Friends I was with ordered the burgers and complained they were dry and tasteless. The service was fine and the waitress friendly. I would not go back

Crackbird
60 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

got chicken skewers which were a little grizzly. The potato croquettes were bland. The menu choice is fairly limited and the staff not very helpful. The decor is cool, but the music is too loud, especially if you have the misfortune of sitting under the speakers! The prices are quite reasonable, but my overall impression is that you can get a much better early bird in a better restaurant ,for a similar price, but much higher quality in terms of food quality/ taste and dining experience

Mantra Garden Bar & Club
Main Street, Maynooth, Kildare

had lunch. deep fried mushrooms with salad and garlic dressing which were very nice indeed. Got a side portion of large chips which were delicious but a little too expensive. (approx six big chips for €3.50). Had lunch in Mantra on an ongoing basis since it opened, and had noticed that the quality of the food had gone down steadily, to the point where I stopped going. But took a chance yesterday and was pleasantly surprised, definitely an improvement in the quality of the food. The only issue I have it it is almost empty at lunchtime and can lack a little in atmoshpere.

Harte's Bar & Grill
Market Square, Kildare Town, Kildare Town, Kildare

went for lunch with friend and two children. Will not be going back. I got chicken with pesto and new potatoes and greens. The chicken was just ok, I'd probably do better myself at home. The vegetables were seriously overcooked, limp and were insipid. All this for €12.95! The service was slow and the tables were dirty. I ordered tea, which I never got and then was charged for it.

Avenue Cafe & Restaurant
Main Street, Maynooth, Kildare

The menu is fairly limited and needs to be changed more often. Limited choice for non-meat eaters. Otherwise good atmosphere and staff are friendly. Very expensive for Maynooth though.

went for the early bird, really lovely and good value. My only negative would be that portions are a little on the small side

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had lunch menu with two friends. The food was dreadful and the service appalling. We were left waiting for ages and staff seemed uninterested in us as customers. We ordered water which we never got (despite asking for it several times) Will never return.
