Had an absolutely fabulous meal last night! Dave (I think it was Dave) greeted us at the door and was incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout the evening. The food was incredible and the value was amazing. We had a menupages voucher, so we were able to get two small plates, a large platter to share and two sides - we also had two sneaky glasses of wine! We had the figs and the chorizo gratin as the small plates, the antipasti platter and the broccoli salad and the baked potato as sides. Everything was scrumptious though I have to say the chorizo gratin is by far one of the tastiest dishes I have had in a while! For such great quality food it was really amazing value and such a lovely dining room with a great perspective out several lovely windows onto both Dame and George's Street. I will definitely be back!

I had dinner with a friend in Cinnamon last Friday. Firstly, I had a voucher and I hadn't been able to print it during the day due to a printer issue, so I rang the restaurant and they were really lovely about it and told me not to worry and that they would print it for me! What a lovely start! Once we got there, the staff were extremely attentive and we felt really well looked after. For starter we had a goats cheese salad and a ham hock terrine - I had the terrine - it was really excellent. For mains we had chicken and fish - my cod was a touch salty for my taste - but still very well cooked. For dessert we wanted to order every single one! But eventually settled on the completely sublime Beeramisu and the lavendar and chocolate mousse - we just about stopped ourselves from licking the containers! We also polished off a very lovely bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. It was an early dinner, so it was a little quiet to begin with but had really started to pick up when we were leaving. Value wise due to the voucher, given the quality of the food, it was really incredible! I will definitely be back!

Banyi Japanese Dining
4 Bedford Row, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had a wonderful meal in Banyi last night with a friend of mine. The food was really great and I love the use of dry ice for the added bit of drama! The service was really exceptional! We were using a menupages voucher and we ended up ordering an additional main and not having desserts (as we were so full after all of the great food). The spicy tuna roll was a bit too spicy for what we could handle - the staff were so lovely about it and checked twice that it was nothing to do with the food - it wasn't just our Irish palate couldn't handle the heat! When we got the bill they had subbed in the additional main for the desserts we didn't have - which was really very lovely. They also said that we should come back to try their desserts - which we definitely will!
