Reviewed 07th May 2008 ( visited 04th May 2008 )A truely excellent Italian restaurant. We had a lovely time, a delicious meal served by friendly staff. We went all out and had four courses, all of which were excellent. We asked for a slight delay with the meat course, which was no problem. Overall I would highly recommend.
The Bull & Castle and F.X. Buckley Steakhouse restaurant
5-7 Lord Edward Street, Christchurch, Dublin 8, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 8
Reviewed 02nd January 2009 ( visited 02nd January 2009 )We were here on New Year's eve. we had a drink upstairs before getting a table downstairs. There is a good mixed crowd here. The steaks we ordered were very tasty and the staff were effecient. It was only half full till after ten but then it filled up and was great craic.
Emerald Gardens (Wexford)
117 South Main Street, Wexford Town, Wexford
Nice chinese. We had pretty standard chinese food. The best, so far, Chinese restaurant in Wexford (although not hard!). Would go back. However, on a more general point, surely the rice comes with the meal. Why in all Wexford takeaways is this an extra price? In Dublin, rice was included with the meal.
Town Bar and Grill
21 Kildare Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Myself and my wife visited here on Valentines night. The welcome was perfunctionary but the waiting staff were friendly. Unfortunately my wife was unwell and we had to leave, but they allowed us to take a doggy bag. The food was overall very good. My wife had the potato soup which was delicious. I had oysters, which were warmed, the topping was a bit crunchy for my taste. My wife had pasty which was lovely. My steak was delicious. The wine, not the house, but the cheapest of the French whites, was excellent. Overall a good experience.
The Yard Restaurant
3 Lower George Street, Wexford Town, Wexford
Myself and my wife eat here a few days ago. The restaurant was comfortable, the atmosphere was good and the service was good as well. The wine selection was good and the one we chose - a Riesling - was delicious. The food however was a mixed bag. My foie gras starter was bland, although the portion was large. My main course - the special - was sea bass. It wasn't clear to me from the description but it had chinese flavours and the veg (or stir fry really) which came with it was also chinese tasting, and not nice. My wife got lamb cutlets which were grand. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and had an OK meal. One final thing, and this is not just at this place, but restauants are very expensive here in Wexford. I thoguh I left Dublin prices behind!
Henry Street, Limerick City, Limerick
We had a family meal here, with over 20 people. The atmosphere was relaxed. There were not many other people around as it was early afternoon on a very hot day. The service was excellent and the food good. I would definately recommened this spot
Siam Thai (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin
I wen there with my wife on a Thursday night. The atmosphere was relaxed and there was a band playing upstairs - cheesy but fun. The service was friendly and effecient. We ordered dumplings to start which were grand. Our main courses however were delicious. I had a panagng beef curry which was really good. My wife had a green curry which was god too. My only quible with the place is that they sneekily charge €3+ for rice. I know a lot of places do this but it is still a rip off. We had a bottle of white, which was grand. Overall, a nice spot to go and I would recommend it.
Jasmine Palace (Limerick)
O'Connell Street, Limerick City, Limerick
Nice chinese restaurant. Good food, nice atmosphere, pity about the waiter who kept checking his phone and forgetting our orders! I had Wasabi prawns which were delicious, although not much of a wasabi taste. I had General Tso chicken, a delicious house speciality. Overall I would recommend this place for a good chinese meal.
Stable Diet Cafe
stable diet cafe, 100 southmain street, wexford, Wexford Town, Wexford
We visited here last Friday afternoon, for a couple of coffies and a couple of slices of cake. The coffee's were delicious and luxuriant. My lemon cake was moist and delicious. The Carrot cake waa tastly, if a little dry. Overall a very nice treat. My only reservation is that the waitresses began putting chairs on tables well before closing and while people were still coming in. Very annoying, (but maybe that's jsut me!)
Le Tire Bouchon
112 south main street, Wexford Town, Wexford
Myself and my wife eat here last Friday evening. The restaurant was very quiet but somehow this did not affect the atmosphere. The service was excellent and the food delicious. We generally went with their wine selection and it proved to be spot on, even down to the port with the cheese course. I would recommend this restaurant unreservedly.
Hop House / Kimchi
160 Parnell Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
Myself and three friends went here last Sat night. We had no reservation, but got a table for four. This was our first time in eating Korean food. The waitresses was freindly and did their best (with limited English) to explain the dishes. We got a sushi platter to start which wasn't bad. However all four of the main courses were delicious. I had a type of spicy stew which was lovely and came with a number of side dishes and rice. I also had a sweet Korean fruit juice drink which was unusual but tasty! The other lads had a variety of mains which were varied and well cooked. There is a bar attached which looks good but we didn't go into it. Overall this was an excellent restaurant, reasonably priced.
Ciao Bella Roma
24/25 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Simple Italian restaurant, reasonably priced. I had the gnocchi (delicious) and my wife and her friend had pizza (a bit bland but OK). We shared Calamari which was delicious. Overall a pleasant meal.

Milano (Temple Bar)
19 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Myself and my wife headed to Milanos for a pizza and a couple of drinks. The atmosphere was good, the staff were friendly and smiling and most importantly the food was delicious. However, the price of the drinks was outragous and would put me off going back. €8.95 for a beer and another €8.95 for a glass of wine is a scandal.
Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
We were a group of 7, the food was tasty, burgers, nachos etc. The staff were friendly, but it did take an age to get our main courses.
Diwali Indian Restaurant
Unit 1, Castle House, South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
This is clearly a quality Indian restaurant. The service was excellent and the meals were delicious. Maybe I'm naive but our bill came to €70, which seems very steep for an Indian meal.
9 Grattan Crescent, Dublin 8 , Inchicore, Dublin
We had a meal for two. Bruschetta, salad, Lasagna, Tiramisu, coffees, house Red. The starer, bruschetta with cheese, tomato, olive oil was delicious and fresh. My wife's salad, with spicy sausages was also very tasty. The meal of the day, which I ordered, Lasagne was OK, (it felt like it had dried out a bit from being made earlier). Although the desserts were slagged off in an earlier review, the Tiramisu we shared was delicious. Finally the house red went well with the meal. All in all came to €70. Our only complaint about the place is that the staff can be a bit rushed. Good spot overall though.
Chez Max (Palace Street)
1 Palace Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Distinctive French restaurant with great atmosphere. We were a large group and we went for the set menu. I had Foi Gras, Moules Frites and a pear tart. The Starter and amin course were excellent, particularily the sauce accompanying the Mussles. The dessert was grand. Overall very nice.

A truely excellent Italian restaurant. We had a lovely time, a delicious meal served by friendly staff. We went all out and had four courses, all of which were excellent. We asked for a slight delay with the meat course, which was no problem. Overall I would highly recommend.
El Bahia Moroccan Restaurant
37 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
We had a 30th birthday meal here. The staff were friendly and inviting. The food overall was delicious, in particular the main courses. The starters were fair to good, although we were getting a group selection rather than choosing for ourselves.
