Ate here last Friday. Very cute little place with lovely friendly staff. Was very busy, and although I only booked it 2 hours beforehand, W was very glas I had. I would say that it was full, all but two tables when we arrived. Was meeting a friend I hadn't seen for a while and they didn't rush us out of the restaurant at then end of the night, which is always a lovely trait! I'd rush back.

Thai Orchid (Dublin)
7 Westmoreland Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We enjoyed a meal here on Wednesday evening before a visit to the cinema. We all ordered from the Early Bird Menu €18.95 for 2 courses and all were very tasty. The chicken dumplings were fabulous and there was a variety of lovely mains. Service was excellent, although it was quite quiet when we went in. It was much busier when we were leaving. Altogether a lovely expereince, right in the heart of the city!!

Tyrrellspass Castle Restaurant
Main Street, Tyrellspass, Westmeath

I organised a family lunch here for a birthday celebration, before calling to a day at the races in Kilbeggan. The place was packed with Christenings, and various family and lunches. Nonetheless, service was very quick. The food was delicious, portions were more than adequate. We had a lovely bottle of wine and all in all, the meal for 6 was great value for money.

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate in here before going to a concert in the Olympia. Service was fast. We got reduced price cocktails, at 5 euro each. Tapas dishes were tasty and we shared 4 which was plenty. Staff could have been a little bit more attentive!! There was live music as there is every Monday but we couln't stay to enjoy. But very nice overall and will revisit.

Independent Pizza Co
28 Drumcondra Rd Lower, Dublin 9, Drumcondra, Dublin

I've been eating here for years so its finally time to review. Guess it goes without really saying that if I keep going back they must be doing something right!!! Pizzas are delicious, the cobb salad and calzones, as well. The starters are also lovely particularly the goat's cheese crostini. Staff are lovely, there have been issues previously and they have been most attentive.

Bettystown Court Hotel - Closed till May
Bettystown, Bettystown, Meath

There were loads of guests in the hotel, many had stayed over from New Year. However, the restaurant was fairly empty between 7 and 8.30. It did get busier later, though. The food was terrific. I had the monkfish which was grilled beautifully. Served with mange tout, beans and plenty of veg. Service was terrific. Its always difficult to judge how often to check on a sole diner....but the staff timed everything to perfection.

The Brasserie (Clonshaugh)
Bewleys Hotel ClonshaughStockhole Lane, Clonshaugh, Dublin

Yummy, yummy. Food here is extremely tasty!! The restaurant is cosy. It seems to be mainly hotels guests who were eating here the night that we ate there. We weren't staying there but were well looked after in the restaurant.

MacNean House & Restaurant
Main Street, Blacklion, Cavan

This sure is the experience of a lifetime. Its set in a lovely little village, close to the border. The restaurant has a very old feeling, the seating area/ lounge is quaint and ol-fashioned. The food is served is several courses. We opted for the €70 menu, which was about 7 courses, with wine extra. Staff are excellent, they point out the main ingredients and explain the dishes as they arrive. This wasn't just dinner, this was an experience!!!

Koh
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

We popped in here for a bite to eat around lunch-time. There was a few tables in, possibly a work Christmas party or two. We were shown straight to the table and served straight away. We both felt we got excellent value for money! We'll be back.

Chapter One Restaurant
18/19 Parnell Square, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I booked this about 2 months before the meal. It was for a birthday celebration. We were greeted and shown to our seats by very friendly staff, the meal options were well explained as was the wine list. The whole evening had been anticipated by all of us for so long and I am delighted to say it lived up to all expectations. Definitely worth a visit!!!

Pacinos
18 Suffolk Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I visited Pacinos on a Monday evening before theatre so was in time for the Early Bird menu which we both opted for. The staff were superb, couldn't have been nicer. We had a couple of glasses of wine and 3 courses, one course tastier than the next, value for money was excellent and we were served promptly. Teh restaurant was not overly busy when we went in but proceeded to get quite busy indeed for a monday night. And I can see why!!!! Will definitely return.

Il Corvo Restaurant
98-100 Upper Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9 , Drumcondra, Dublin

Typical Italian restaurant. Nice warm place, service was very good but food was just ok. My friend ordered a vegetarian lasagne but got a charred beef lasagne. Other than that error, a table of 6 were happy enough.

Port House Pintxo
12 Eustace Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

This is a novel restaurant with quirky toilets and a real Spanish feel to it. Fabulous atmosphere!! I ate here on a 'first date', and it gave my date a great opportunity to show off in Spanish!! Food was authentic and wine was fantastic. I will go back here....not with him but it certainly put me in a relaxed mood.

Silks Chinese Restaurant
5 The Mall , Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Wow! This lady knows how to run her business. Pleasant staff, prompt service, beautiful atmosphere....and thats even before I start on the food. I love their duck recipes but all the food that I have sampled is very tasty. The set menus offer great value for money. And we were given a complementary drink at the end of the night!! I will definitely be re-visiting and would recommend that you give it a try as well.

OKA Restaurant
Northwood Demense, North Dublin, Santry, Dublin

I love this restaurant. I've been several times now, most recently last week with a friend. The service is consistently wonderful, whether I'm there with 1 or 2 others or as part of a large group. The staff are friendly, prompt but never rush you (even when you are the last people there....) the food and wine is fantastic and there is plenty of parking. Everything you could possibly want in a night out....so get going!
