Pasta Pizza restaurant
54 Strand Street, Skerries, Dublin, Area Code: North Co. Dublin
Reviewed 03rd September 2009 ( visited 17th July 2009 )I love Pasta Pizza. I have been many times and have never had a bad meal. The Mozarella spring rolls are a delicious starter and the steaks are always good and cooked to perfection. The staff are always helpful and will always try to accomodate you, even without a booking. The restaurant always has a great selection of desserts and a good specials board. You are never waiting long for your food. This is my favourite restaurant in the area for a satisfying meal, I always know I will come out nicely filled and happy. I would definitely recommend pasta pizza to anyone looking for a good quality meal.
Stoop Your Head
Harbour Road, Skerries, Skerries, Dublin
Cannot recommend Stoop's enough. The food is delicious and fresh and the atmosphere is lovely. The prawns and crab claws in garlic butter were to die for!
Harveys Bar and Grill Restaurant (Above Harvest Bar & Lounge)
Main Street, Balbriggan, Balbriggan, Dublin
The only way I would describe Harvey's is average. The food is ok, service is ok and the atmosphere is ok. The food is quite pricey when you consider what you are getting, ie a burger and chips with not much frills. The steaks are pricey. I had enchiladas which were nice but the portions were far too big. The dessert was also in a massive portion and was again an average chocolate cake. The place is nice for a family treat as long as price is not too much of an issue.
Blue Cafe Bar
Harbour Road Skerries, Skerries, Dublin
A lovely spot for lunch. The atmosphere is great, it feels like you are on holidays and the food is good. I usually have the crab snadwich which is tasty and fresh. The garlic bread is also lovely and homemade. The burgers and chips are a little disappointing, being quite plain and a quite pricey. The seafood is generally the best option, always fresh and tasty. The menu can be a little on the pricey side. The staff are friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a nice lunch in a lovely spot this is the place to go.
Lakeside Restaurant at Harvey's Point
Lough Eske, Donegal Town , Donegal Town, Donegal
I was at a wedding in Harvey's Point at the weekend and have nothing but praise for this beautiful hotel. The wedding meal was outstanding, by far the best I have had. The buffet starters were fantastic, the food was fresh and tasty and there was plenty of it. I enjoyed the main course of beef, with a lovely red wine sauce. The presentation of the dish was very good with plenty of side dishes. And the best part was the dessert buffet, a huge selection of tasty and tempting desserts. The staff at the hotel were friendly and very efficient, we never would have guessed that they were in fact accomodating two seperate weddings at the one time because our one ran so smoothly and in a timely manner. I will be recommending this hotel to anyone who is going to Donegal. It was worth the long journey from Dublin!
Montys of Kathmandu
28 Eustace Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Ate here for the first time recently and was very impressed. The food was beautiful, full of taste but not too spicy. Everyone at our table had nothing but compliments for the chef. The staff were lovely and had no problem with the fact that we were forty minutes late due to traffic.I will be going back again for sure.
George's Hill, Balbriggan, Dublin
I ate here with a group of eight and I will not be rushing back anytime soon. The food was mediocre, and did not seem fresh, the prawns I had very obviously frozen and cooked long before I ordered them. My chicken breast was very small. The sauce that accompanied the chicken was nice but my whole plate was drowned in it. The desserts were also of the bulk order frozen variety which was disapponting in a restaurant that claims to prepare its own. I would not have many goos things to say about the restaurant, the service was not fantastic either. Two of our group ordered arriabiata but found it too spicy to eat. The waiter came out and asked one of them why they did not finish it and she said it was too spicy so he said it was on the house and gave her what he described as a free dessert. He then asked the other person the same about her meal but then replied that she would not get any money off as she was not a regular! Whats worse is she goes quite often and was the one who suggested we go there! And to add to that he then charged for the first friend's dinner anyway and also charged for the "complimentary" ice cream he had given her! Needles to say I won't be rushing back for our next night out!
7 The Green, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin
I went here with a group for the early bird option and was very pleased. The food was good, especially the red snapper starter and was reasonably priced. The dessert wasn't to my liking as the ice cream contained quite a few nuts, something which I think they should have mentioned. I would think that as a dessert without a choice maybe a plain vanilla would be a better option to suit everyone? All in all good food and good value.
Fallon and Byrne

I was disappointed with this restaraunt. I had a Christmas dinner as part of a staff party. The food was of very small portions, the only veg apart from a small ammount of potato was three baby carrots. I had the chicken as a main course and found it small and quite basic. The beef carpacio starter however was good, however could have done with more a salad to compliment the beef. The service was not great, we arrived fifteen minutes early, were shown to a table then asked to leave ten minutes later by a different waiter and told to wait downstairs until half eight, which seemed quite uneccesary as the table was already free and set for us! However we were rushed out of our table and recieved quite rude looks from waiters for being twenty minutes late in finishing our meal, which was to be expected considering that it took forty minutes for us to recieve our starters! We also booked the 40euro menu, but when it came to paying the bill we were told it would be in fact 50euro each because some people at our table had had coffee and tea! This seems quite an excessive charge for a course that is generally included in a set menu! I felt that the service really let down a restaraunt that claims to be of a high quality. I won't be rushing back soon!

The Orchid Restaurant
51B Church Street, Skerries, Skerries, Dublin
I am a regular take away customer and have also eaten ina few times and I have been very satisfied every time. The food is good, the staff and service are great and the prices are reasonable. Their black bean sauce is especially nice and the honey ribs are my favourite with lots of meat on them. All in all a lovely chinese and a cut above most other take aways.

Boiled Onion CLOSED
32 Shop st, Drogheda, Drogheda, Louth
The food was lovely but the restaraunt was let down by the slow service. We were in the restaraunt over 1hr 15 mins before we got our starters and the place was not overly full. As a group of ten we were expecting to be there longer than some other tables but it was half eleven before we were finished despite being seated by eight! When our main course was brought out the two people at our table who ordered fajitas were not given any tortillas until we asked for them, they also forgot the sauces to accompany the beef medallions. Mains were also a long time coming out with one person at our table recieving their dinner ten minutes before another meaning that by having good manners and waiting til all were served before starting the duck was gone cold. The food was of good quality, the fillet steak was accompanied by a lovely red wine suace and the duck dish was very good. The Baileys Toblerone cheescake is also worth a try as it was delicious! All in all if the service was improved this could be a great place to eat as it has a good menu with many choices and the prices are reasonable, however the quailty of service and waiting time would put me off going back.
46 John Street, Drogheda, Drogheda, Louth
Lovely atmosphere, great for farge groups as they are not in a hurry to get you out of the restaruant which means you can relax and have a few drinks after your meal. Service is quite slow though, waiting over half an hour for starters and the prawn cocktail although nice had only four prawns in it! Steak was delicious and a lovely large portion however do order medium if you like rare and well if you like medium as both of our medium steaks were on the very rare side. Desserts are nice and the wine list is reasonable.
