The Hungry Bear has been reopened under new management and it seems to be doing quite well. They seem to be trying a new range of lunches like lasagne or baked potatoes. On hot days they give ice creams to everyone sitting outside which is a nice treat! The chicken ceaser salad is amazing and they have nice soups. Today I had a sandwich and vegetable vietnamese soup which was lovely. Prices have come down for loyal customers also.

Stopped in castlecomer for lunch one weekend. I had been told the Limetree was lovely so went here. The food is homemade and I had veg soup and chicken and mushroom pie. The soup was so bland that i actually left the full bowl. The chicken pie was very tasty but the vegetables were bland and didnt look nice on the plate. Would try it again though as the staff were very nice.

Ginthai
The Plaza Hotel Complex, Belgard Road, Tallaght, Dublin

Went here with a group of 8 from work for lunch. The girl who took our booking was extremely helpful and tailored a lunch package to suit us. The Restaurant is so modern and well designed. The food was absolutely amazing and we all really enjoyed it. Some had the Bento Boxes which were very filling and the rest chose off the menu. I had the Chicken Satay Skewers and tried the Lamb Massaman which was delicious. It was very well priced to suit our budget and we will all definitely be returning very soon. I'm going back myself tonight I loved it so much!

The Porterhouse (Bray)
Strand Road, Bray, Wicklow

Brought my 2 year old little boy out to bray for the day for walks on the beach, the carnival and the amusements. Afterwards we were starving so checked a few menus along the beachfront and the porterhouse was the only place that did pizza (my little boys favourite). I ordered pizza, chips and a 7up. The food was nice but could have been better. I didnt get much change out of €20 for the food. It was a lovely hot day so we sat out the front and my little boy was delighted as the army were practicing helicopter jumps in preparation for the air show on the sunday. Dont think id eat here again, but it would be a nice location for a few drinks on a hot day.

Graham O'Sullivan Restaurant
Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Had lunch here with my sister one day last week. I asked for roast beef, cabbage, mash potato and gravy all over. My sister asked for chips, coleslaw and sausages. I was served by a man and when the girl was plating up my sisters food she started to pour gravy over it! My sister said I didnt ask you for gravy and the girl snapped and said "you asked for gravy all over". My sister told her that it was actually me who asked the man for gravy all over my roast dinner so the girl tutted and threw the plate to the side. She was so rude. She gave my sister the coleslaw seperate on a warm plate so it was rotten. The food was just about edible but nothing worth bragging about. The 7up out of the machine was like gassy water. I didnt feel great after it so doubt ill be going back.

The Blazin Grill Steakhouse and Seafood
Belgard Square, Dublin 24, Tallaght, Dublin

Went here on a wednesday night with 10 of the girls for the early bird menu. The cocktails were on offer so would have been rude not to have 2! I went for the 3 course meal. The chicken wings for starters were lovely and I ordered steak for the mains. I wasnt impressed with the steak at all, it was as tough as leather and had no flavour at all. I got a raspberry cheesecake for dessert which was absolutely gorgeous. Apart rom the gang of us, there wasnt much of an atmosphere in the place.

Choices Restaurant
Main Street, Dublin 24, Tallaght, Dublin

Met my friend here for dinner and a catch up on a Friday evening. I always get take away from here and the food is lovely. The food was just as nice at the sit down meal and the menu is not expensive. The only thing is that the restaurant was dead. There were only 4 others in it and we felt like we had to whisper even though we had so much to catch up on!

Kiltipper Cafe Bar
Kiltipper Shopping Centre, Ellensborough, Tallaght, Dublin

JD's Steakhouse
4 Rathfarnham Road, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

Got avoucher for JDs Steakhouse for 2 people to have a main course and either a starter or dessert for €39.99. We had no problem making a reservation and when we got there the manager told us we could have anything off the menu with our voucher that there were no limits to it. I had a sterter and fillet steak and my husband had the T Bone at no extra cost! The steak was so tender and tasty. Needless to say, I will definitely be going back.

The Orchard Restaurant
The Castlecourt Hotel, Westport, Mayo

Stayed in the Castlecourt Hotel and got a meal included. The first thing we noticed was the restaraunt was dead. The menu was very limited. Im pregnant so theres lots of foods I cant eat. My husband didnt get a starter as nothing took his fancy on the menu. He asked if they could even do garlic bread or something and the snotty waiter said its not on the menu. He asked for a basket of bread and the waiter pointed to the basket of bread already on the table. My husband said he would prefer fresh bread to which the waiter tutted! I had mushrooms but the lettuce was covered in a sauce that i wasnt sure what it was so didnt eat it. I got roast beef for my mains which was nice and my husband got steak but had to pay extra for it. Again my husband didnt have desert. I had the exotic crumble which turned out to be apple and banana and i got a mouthful of cloves so left the rest. Wont be eating here again.

JJ O'Malleys
Bridge Street, Westport, Westport, Mayo

Went here after reading reviews on menupages and it met all the standards. I rang saturday night at 8.30pm for a table for 2 for 9pm and the girl told us no problem to come on up. The atmosphere was good, quite busy and the restaraunt was very cosy. The the staff were friendly. The menu was quite good and had a lot to choose from. My husband ordered the BBQ bacon and cheese burger and I ordered a medium chicken curry with pilau rice and chips. We were both very impressed with the food, it was very tasty and the portions were huge. We were both stuffed after only eating a main course. The food is very reasonably priced too. We will definitely go back here when we visit Westport again.

Cosy Joe's
Bridge Street, Westport, Mayo

Went here for some lunch on friday. It was very quiet, yet it took 10 minutes to get our drinks. I had the chicken bruschetta, which was luke warm and the bread was very hard to cut. It was tasty though. My husband had vegetable soup and asked for brown bread with it. He got a bowl of luke warm soup and white rolls. The service was just so slow and when he asked for a 2nd pint of guinness he had to go up to the bar and ask the girl for it himself. It had been siting there for ages. Was only a few quid so cant really expect much for what we paid.

The Morgue
Main St, Templeogue Village, Templeogue, Dublin

Popped in here for carvery lunch with my parents. I had been here before and liked the food. We got there about half an hour after the carvery started and it wasnt busy. Me and my dad asked for the beef but there was only the end of a lump left, which couldnt possibly have been used that quickly, so my dad asked the chef if he could open a fresh one and he said no! It was like eating a leather boot. It was awful and nearly flew off the plate when we tried to cut into it. My mam had fish which she said was nice. For the price I wasnt impressed and especially being served something that was probably there from the day before and the attitude when we asked for fresh beef. Wont be returning.

The Interval Bar & Bistro
Civic Theatre, Tallaght Town Centre, Tallaght, Dublin

The food here is delicious and the chefs are very nice. My job took us here for our Human Resources christmas lunch and i couldnt decide between the braised lamb shanks or malaysian curry so they let me taste a bit of the curry on a plate first. The curry was really tasty so i ordered that and it was served with rice and yoghurt. Was one of the nicest curries ive had in a long time. I had the chocolate bombshell for desert which was yummy. Their food is very rich and filling and worth the price. Plus if you like a glass of wine with your lunch, this is the place to go. We ended up getting them to cater for our companies main christmas party for over 100 people and everyone was so impressed with the food and service. Will definitely return.

Hungry Bear
U9 Tuansgate Development, Belgard Square, Tallaght, Dublin

I go here quite often for lunch. Whether its for a quick lunch to take away or with a group of the girls from work its always been quite good. The food is extremely fresh and the selection of breads, wraps and rolls are lovely. My favourite is the flat iron wrap or madison avenue toasted. They also do lovely soups. Their chicken ceaser salad is divine but wouldnt have it every day! Just as a treat now and again. The staff are very nice too.

Milano (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Went here for my mothers in laws birthday and none of us were impressed. All 7 of us thought it was awful. The place was dead, the food was extremely bland, the portions were too small and its way overpriced. A man beside us gave us a voucher to get one main course free, but even with that the bill was massive! Cant say much for the staff as it was so hard to get their attention even though they werent busy. Will not be returning again.

Brambles Cafe - Dundrum
Level 2, Dundrum, Dublin

Was shopping in dundrum on saturday and decided to have something healthy to eat. I ordered a salmon potato cake and the girl said i could pick 2 salads so i got beetroot salad and shredded carrot with green beand. My niece ordered a tuna and sweetcorn roll. My fishcake was extremely tasty. The salads were very bland and could have done with a dressing or something. My niece said the roll was nice and crispy and the filling was tasty. The bill was €19 which was a bit steep, the salmon cake was nearly €9 alone, but should be cheaper for those who dont like their salads. The staff are pleasant and they have a good service system in place.

Marios (Terenure)
103 Terenure Road East, Dublin 6, Terenure, Dublin

Went here for the first time with my husbands family and my niece. Its a nice sized restaraunt so there is a nice atmosphere. The food was really nice. I had the crostini and salmon. The portion of salmon was huge, really nicely cooked and tasty. For desert i had a banana and sticky toffee crepe with vanilla ice-cream which was delicious! My niece asked for the beef burger, but the waitress said it didnt come with a bun so it was just the meat and chips but my niece said it was really juicy and tasty. My husband had the fillet steak which was really nice aswell. Will definitely return here again.

Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Recession? What recession? Went here saturday 25th Arpil after an exam with the girls from college and the restaraunt was packed. The staff were very pleasant. We got 3 bowls of chicken wings between 5 of us and there was a graveyard left on the table afterwards! absolutely delicious! I had tagiatelli and chicken for mains. The portion could have been a little bit bigger but it was very tasty. Would definitely go back again.

The Chili Club
Anne's Lane, South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I brought my sister here for her 30th birthday, just the 2 of us. It was my first time to try thai/asian food and we both really enjoyed it. Its a small restaraunt and is nice and hidden in a little lane. Only seats about 20 but I like samll restaraunts as they are not loud and its quite personal. The service was very good and the foid was delicious. wasnt too expensive for Grafton Street either! Book well in advance thought as its very popular and is always booked up.

The Peacock Restaurant @ Finnstown Country House
Newcastle Road, West Co. Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

I went here for food for the second time for lunch on friday. Once again the food was gorgeous and was only €32 for starter, main course, desert and tea/coffee. The food was delicious as usual and the staff were very friendly even thought they had a wedding arriving in an hour!

Thunder Road Cafe
Fleet Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

I usually go here with my fiance. I love the food and so does he but tonight the waitress forgot to put my order through, so while my fiance was eating his main course i was left twiddling my thumbs. Eventually the manager came over. He was very apologetic and gave us a choice of free drinks or dessert which you wouldn't get in many places. It was €86 for 2 starters, 2 main courses, a free desert and 7 drinks, very reasonable. The food is always really nice so it was worth the wait!!

profile_review

Brannigans Dundrum
Dundrum Town Centre Dundrum, Dundrum, Dublin

Went here with a few friends, found the service extremely slow and I got the wrong starter, the waitress had an attitude that I wanted to send it back! Eventually when my proper starter arrived, everyone else was finished theirs. Food was ok though

Tamara Restaurant
Unit 11/18 Belgard Square, Tallaght Town Centre, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin

Went here last night with my friend. The food was very nice, I had Chicken kebab skewers and Green Thai curry. Price was not too bad either (but they tried to charge me for 3 starters!) The restaurant was very cold the whole night, but there is a really nice atmosphere and the waitresses are really good. For the 2 of us to have starters, main course and a drink was €70

Eddie Rockets (Tallaght)
The Square, Shopping Centre Tallaght, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin

What can I say, this is one my favourite places to eat, I eat here all the time. Great place to go with the girls or my boyfriend. I love the chilli fries, chicken tenders and garlic mushrooms. Some people think its dear, but you wouldnt get tenders like that anywhere else. The atmosphere is great and its very clean.
