Angelina's

We arrived without having made a booking and were advised that we would have to be out by 8.00 we shared a pizza and salad. Both were very nice, but pizza was a little shy on the chicken. It was good value and service was excellent.

We were booked in on a package which included a main course. We both chose the pasta which wasn’t very nice. It was quite stodgy and tasteless. Staff were very friendly and efficient.

McGettigans Cookhouse and Bar
Amiens Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I was really pleasantly surprised here. Although it's cheaper not to use the early bird, the mains are reasonably priced. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty, and well presented. I will definitely go back.

Platform 61
27 South William Street, South William Street, Dublin

The service was really slow. It took about 15 minutes to take our order then 40 minutes before the starters arrived and a further 40 minuted before the main course arrived. The food was tasty, but spoiled by the poor service.

Forchetta Italian Grill & Restaurant
Crowne Plaza Blanchardstown, Blanchardstown Town Centre, West Dublin, Blanchardstown, Dublin

The service was very slow. We were tucked away in a corner and it was difficult to get the attention of the waiting staff. The food was nice, nothing spectacular.

The early bird is excellent value. Bruschetta is the nicest I've tasted. Pizza great. Definitely coming back.

The Vintage Kitchen
7 Poolbeg St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We opted for the early bird menu and we had to be out by 20:00. There was a decent interval between courses and we didn'd feel rushed. The waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable about the food. There is no name over the door, so it's a little difficult to find. The food was excellent, and really well presented,

Bombay Palace

The service was not very good and the staff didn't seem too pleasant. The food was really good though and the portion sizes very generous.

The Cheese Pantry
104 Drumcondra Road Upper, North Dublin, Drumcondra, Dublin

There were 10 in our group. All the starters were really good, I had Brioche. Some has the brie and there was no cranberry with it, so it was lacking. Some of us had duck which was really tough and the potato with it had no seasoning at all. On the whole quite disappointing. We were offered a free glass of wine to make up for it.The menu was limited enough. Some had red snapper which they said was lovely.

profile_review

101 Talbot
Talbot Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Food was good, though my venison was a little on the rare side of medium well, it wasn't worth sending the dish back for. Overall I though it was good value and the service was very good.

The Bram Stoker
225 Clontarf Road, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin

This was our first time here, and we were very happy with our food. Four opted for the steak on a stone, which was delicous, the fifth person went for fish and was also very happy. The starters were very generous, one melon and 3 prawns. We didn't have much room for dessert, so two of us shared the crumble -delicous!The service was really good. Great venue and I wioll definitely be back again!

Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)
Millennium Walkway, Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin

I usually really enjoy the fajitas here, but this time the chicken was overcooked, dry and tough.Starters and desserts were goods, so maybe it was just a off night!

profile_review

Il Vignardo
Beresford Hotel, 21 Store Street, City Centre North, IFSC, Dublin

The only reason I scored a lower point for atmosphere is that we were the only two diners in the restaurant for most of our meal. The food was excellent and the waitress was very helpful and friendly.

profile_review

Forchetta Italian Grill & Restaurant
Crowne Plaza Blanchardstown, Blanchardstown Town Centre, West Dublin, Blanchardstown, Dublin

We looked at the early bird menu which is not advertised on the web site and quickly figured out that it wasn't good value with many of the choices yielding no savings over the A la Carte menu. Two had tomato brischetta, one rissoles and one the prawn bruschetta. All good. One pork in parma ham, one seafood risotto, one salmon and prawn pasta all excellent. The pizza was very diasppointing - the base wasn't very thin. Overall though it was good and we will go back again.

profile_review

Taste of Brazil, Cozinha Brasileira
32 Parliament St, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

We used deal vouchers and we got great valur for money. The four of us all had different starters and desserts and so we got to taste lots. All were really good. We all opted for steaks for the main course and we were all pretty happy. Cooked well. ONe person felt theirs was a little tough. The staff were nice and explained the dessert menu to us. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.

Milano (Dun Laoghaire)
1 Harbour Square, Crofton Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

I read the reviews so I was a little dubious about coming here, but my friend needed to have the gluten free base, so we decided to give it a go. The pizza was nice, although for a chicken pizza, there was very little chicken! The gluten free pizza was tasty but very small in comparison to mine. I think the prices are way too high for what you get. I won't be rushing back.

profile_review

Essence Bistro
75 Main Street, Swords, Dublin

We were there on Tuesday at 18:00 and there were not too many other diners in the restaurant. The food was very good - goats cheese and fish for the starters foloowed by chicken and the vegetarian nut loaf. Desserts were equally good. I'd definitely come back again.

profile_review

La Mere Zou
22 St Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

THis was my first time here and I chose the early bird menu which is excellent value. Goats cheese to start and then daube of beef, both excellent. My dining companion had the same as me.. For dessert I had the creme brulee and my companion had the lemon tart. All very tasty and well presented. The wime was a little on the expensive side though. The waiters were very efficient.

profile_review

Pacinos
18 Suffolk Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This was my first time here in ages. There were very few other diners when we arrived, so there wasn't much atmosphere. The service was quite slow. The starters of Bruschetta and deep fried cheese were very good, as was the chicken skewer and chicken wrapped in parma ham. No room for dessert. While the food was good, I felt it was quite expensive.

profile_review

Diwali Indian Restaurant
Unit 1, Castle House, South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

The food was great as was the service. The early bird is great value. The only issue I have is that the tables are very close together, so it was very difficult trying to get out after our meal. We had to disturb 6 other diners so we could get by!

profile_review

FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

We ate from the early bird menu, chicken caesar salad and goats cheese for starters, follow by chicken wrapped in bacon and lemon sole for mains. The food was excellent as was the service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Very impressed.

profile_review

Copper Alley Bistro
No 2 Lord Edward Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

The early bird is good value. The chicken was very moist and tender. The service was good and teh staff very friendly. There were very few people the day I was there so there wasn't much atmosphere. I would go again.

profile_review

Roast
10a Merrion Rd, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

I really enjoyed this restaurant. The service was excellent and the food fantastic. We used a voucher and it was really good value. The steak was cooked to perfection and the chocolate fondant was to die for! There were very few other diners there, so that's why I marked it down for atmosphere.

profile_review

Bishops Buttery Restaurant @ Cashel Palace Hotel
Cashel Palace Hotel, Cashel, Tipperary

There were eight of us and although they don't do the early bird on Saturday, they agreed to do it for us. Everyone was happy with their meal. I had teh balck pudding salad and the steak. Both excellent and teh steak was cooked perfectly. They didn't charge the supplement for the steak. There were a few empty tables and a couple of draughts blowing, but overall I enjoyed the food.

profile_review

Chez Hans
Cashel Co Tipperary, Cashel, Tipperary

There were eight of us in the group and tehy extended the early bird offer for us, which was great. The food was really good and everyone was very happy. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

profile_review

Brasserie 7
The Capel Building, Capel Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I was very disappointed with my visit. There were very few other diners there and the service was really slow. The staff were just standing around ignoring us for most of the nigh. The food was alright. The mozerella and tomato starter was nice, the chickem was fine, but no potatoes and just a few veg were all that accompanied the chicken. Mt frien felt teh fish was very greasy. Overall disappointing.

profile_review

The Forge
Moycullen Village, Moycullen, Galway

The seafood chowder was just ok, nothing to rave about. The chicken dish was tasty, but not very spicy - it was supposed to be I think!. The french fries tasted as they had been deep fried more than once. I would try it again as some things on their menu look interesting.

profile_review

King Charlies Malaysian Chinese Restaurant
15 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I was a little disappointed with my food. The chicken satay was over cooked , so teh chicken was tough and dry. My friend had spring rolls which were fine. I had the chicken curry and it was just OK, nothing special. My friend had chow mein which was OK, but nothing special either. I won't be rushing back.

profile_review

Nede
Sycamore St, Temple Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin

We both opted for the mushrooms on toast and the lamb and both were delicious. The early bird represents very good value and the little extras such as fresh baked bread before the meal and the petit fours after made all the differece. I would definitly recommend this restaurant.

profile_review

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

This was my first time here, and I ws impressed. I used a menu points voucher so we got one main course free. We shared the chicken skewer starter and the protion was enough for two. Main courses were crispy skinned pork and duck, both of which were lovely. The only complaint I had was that I felt it is a bit expensive. We were charged €4.50 for a bottle of water! and the mains cost around €26, The bill for one starter and one main course with the water came to €42 which I think is a bit expensive. It's a nice place to go for a special night out.

profile_review

Thai Spice
3A Talbot Place, Dublin 1 , City Centre North, Dublin

The waitress was new and mixed up the wine a few times and we had to ask for a chiller for the white wine three times before it arrived.. Three of the party were served and we had to ask twice for the fourth persons food. It came about 10 minutes after everyone elses. The food was very tasty, all were very happy. We used the menupages vouchers, which was great, but 10% service was added on and we didn't feel the service we got was worth it.

As ever Roly's never fails to disappoint. Excellent value.

profile_review

Sheries Cafe Bar
3 Lower Abbey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

I am a regular visitor at lunchtime, and I always get good food. The lunch special which consists of a main course and cofffee/tea for 10.50 is good value for money. They do a loyalty card which means that after 10 visits you get a free meal!

profile_review

Woodlands Restaurant @ The Glenview Hotel
Glenview Hotel, Glen of the Downs, Delgany, Wicklow

We ate here as part of a package for the weekend. There were a lot of dishes that charged a supplement which was disapopointing, however the food we had was really good. The service was also very good. The views from the dining room are fantastic.

profile_review

Chakra by Jaipur
1st Floor, Meridian Point, Church Road, Greystones, Wicklow

Excellent food, but not a cheap eat. Well worth it for a special occasion. Food is fantastic and service really good. The waiting staff know what is in each dish that is served and explain it all.

profile_review

TGI Friday (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

We visited here on a Sunday afternoon. They were not very busy. Ordered the set menu. The starters were fine, but two people ordered the chicken salad. The dish was poorly presented and covered in BBQ sauce and cheese dressing which completely ruined the dish. Very disappointed overall.

profile_review

F.X. BUCKLEY Steakhouse Crow Street
2 Crow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

We arrived at 6:00 and there were very few other diners in the restaurant. I opted for the set menu, chosing main course and desert. The chicken was very moist and tasty. For dessert I had teh chocolate cake which was very heavy. My friend wanted a ceaser salad with chicken added and this seemed to present a problem, so she opted to have just chowder which she said was excellent. Service was good.

profile_review

Bay Restaurant
369 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

Good food with friendly staff. Didn't spot on the menu that the 'special' only applied in the evenings, so had an expensive lunch!. Enjoy the meal and would definitely come again.

profile_review

Thai Spice
3A Talbot Place, Dublin 1 , City Centre North, Dublin

There were three of us and we asked if we could avail of the special dinner for two although there were three of us and this was no problem. Instread of 4 beers, I just had two and then selected from the dinner menu. Food was very tasty. The service was good and the staff very friendly. We had booked a table by leaving a voice message and they didn't seem to have our booking, so things were a bit busy for a while. The staff coped very well as other diners who had also booked by voice mail turned up! Very enjoyable food and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

profile_review

ely gastro bar
Grand Canal Square, (Next to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre), Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Went here with a friend for the pre-theatre menu. Very little choice on it and the usual scam where they charge a supplement for steak. The tart as a starter was tasty, but I'm not sure if it was supposed to be hot or not. Lukewarm ws how mine was served. We both opted for the chicken with risotto which was quite bland a more than a little disappointing. We were left for quite a long time (45 mins) between the first course (which only one of us had) and the second course. People who arrived after us got their main courses before us! Tiramasu and pear for dessert were nice, but overall I was disappointed with my experience.

profile_review

Restaurant Ten Fourteen
324 Clontarf Road, Clontarf, Dublin

The all day menu is good value. The food is good. The only thing I found wrong with the food was that there was too much of it! The roast beef portion was very dig and I found this a little off-putting. However the food was really tasty. We visited on a Sunday evening, and it ws very busy. I would go here again

Boulevard Cafe
27 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

The waiters were very friendly. We booked a table for 8.00, Tow fo our group were there on time and were shown to the table, Two were running late, but there was no problem. When we all arrived we gave our orders, goats cheese tart for two, and bruschetta for the others. Pork belly for two, beef bourginon and pasta were all very tasty. We could sit and chat after the meal, there was no rush to get us to finish up. I would definitely come here again.

Il Vicoletto
5 Crow Street (Next to Foggy Dew Pub), Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Everything was excellent! Five of us chose from the set menu. Calamari - the biggest ever seen, aubergine - fantastic, Pate- very good and the mushrooms - good. Mains Veal - scrumptious, Fish -- fantastic, chicken - full of flavour. Desserts were Panacotta, Pear and Chocolate fondant - all to die for! Definitely coming here again. Very good value, great service and fantastic food!

Pacifico Restaurant & Grill
Marine Court, The Green, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

Three of us went here for lunch. They don' seem to do a lunhc special. We shared the nachos for a starter which were really good. We all opted for the Fajitas, two for the combo and one for the chicken. I felt the chicken was the nicer meat, the steak was a bit tasteless and tough. The portions were very generous though. I had to ask for salsa which didn't come with the meal.

profile_review

Kitchen
3 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I visited here on my Menupages voucher. We were not charged the supplement for the steak, which was really tasty. I had the ham hock terrice for starters and my friend had the crab cakes. Both really tasty. The steak was very tender and cooked to perfection, my friend had the fish curry which was also excellent. The brownie for dessert was devine. My friend had the panacotta which was also very tasty. The staff were very friendly and very efficient.

at The Viscount Pub, 89 Swords Road, Whitehall, Dublin

There were 12 people our group and we all enjoyed our meal. The service was just OK. The starters took about 20 minutes to arrive. The mains did not all come together. Having said that the food was very tasty and was good value for money. The staff were very friendly.

Wineport Lodge
Glasson, Glasson, Westmeath

Stopped in here on the way home and decided to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant. Beautiful views of the lake. Salmon and the beef burger were ordered. Both were very tasty. The burger came in a brown bap which was so fresh that it crumbled all over the place! It was served on a small wooden board, so there wasn’t much room to manoeuvre! The burger was delicious. My companion though the salmon was excellent. There didn’t appear to be a whole lot of it, but what there was tasted good. It was a little pricey – 18.50 for the burger. The surroundings are beautiful though.

profile_review

Cedar Restaurant @ Athlone Springs Hotel
Monksland, Athlone, Westmeath

We were dining on a package, so had a somewhat limited menu. The starter of brie was nice, but the chicken and mushroom bouchee wasn’t very appetising. It looked a bit like a can of mushroom soup with a bit of chicken thrown in poured over a vol-au-vent. For main I had the stir fried beef with noodles and my companion had salmon both of which were good. We didn’t need the side orders that came with the meal as there was plenty of food. The waitress put us off the medley for dessert, so we opted instead for fresh fruit salad, which was mostly melon – we should have gone for the medley! For a four star hotel I expected the food to be a little better.

profile_review

The Olive Grove
Custume Pier, Athlone, Westmeath

We opted for the early bird menu. The goat’s cheese tartlet was a little stodgy – the pastry was soggy. Salmon for main course was tasty as was the smoked chicken pasta. The portions were quite big –maybe a little too big as all the food on a plate is a little off-putting. The dessert was very disappointing. I ordered the lemon Eton mess. I thought there was supposed to be meringue in an Eton mess – not so this one! It was more like a dish of mousse and not very tasty. Overall I was a little disappointed.

profile_review

Mao Restaurant (Chatham Row)
2-3 Chatham Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

The early bird menu is excellent value. Two of us had the chicken satay and the other person had the pumpkin spring rolls - all very tasty. For mains the Malaysian Chicken, Thai Green Curry and Prawn dish all went down very well. The chocolate dessert was to die for. On top of this the house wine priced at 9.95 per bottle made for a very reasonable night out

profile_review

Caseys of Baltimore

Good selection of starters and all very good. Fish dishes were a bit pricey -big portions and tasty. Food was good and they are child friendly. Vegetarian was a little disappointing.

profile_review

Talbot Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

A group of us dropped in hoping to get a table and we did. 9 in the group. The char grilled aubergine rolls were excellent and the chicken (also chargrilled) was great. The terrrine and pate were good as was the hake. Everyone was happy with their meal. Only two of us managed to order dessert and the merangue was huge, so we all helped eat it. Scrumptious!

Six of us went here for cheap eats and we were pleasantly surprised. The table sharing was good. We shared chick peas, pesto and terrine as starters and they were grreat. Very big portions so it was a great idea to share them. The chicken is also big enough to share. The lamb was delicious also. The millenium fries are to die for -though again one oortion between two is plenty. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

We went here with a voucher from a web site. Excellent value and the food was really tasty. Sadly we were the only two people in the restaruant that evening (between 18:00 and 19:30). The service was very good. I'm definitely going abck again.

Shimla
5 Weavers Row, Clonsilla, Clonsilla, Dublin

Starters were nice and some of the mains were tasty, but it was the strangest chicked tikka masala I've ever tasted! I guess it's good value for money but I wouldn't be rushing back here again. Very few people in for a Saturday night, so there was no atmoshpere in the restaurant.

profile_review

Il Corvo Restaurant
98-100 Upper Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9 , Drumcondra, Dublin

This place can be hit or miss. I've had really good food and some mediocre food as well. This time it was the latter. Opted for the main course and dessert. Pork and salmon. The salmon was nice but the pork very bland and ordinary. We order dessert - the crumble and I think they must have forgotten about us as it took them 30 minutes to bring it. When we went to pay, the bill was charged wrongly, but the rectified this without any fuss.

We were here for the lunch and were pleasantly suprised. The bruschetta (both regular and goats cheese) were really tasty. The four of us had different mains and all were very happy with the meal. The portions were very generous. We split apple pie and crepes between us for dessert. This place is a real gem and I'll be going back again.

Coachmans Inn

Went for the early bird menu, great range of choice. Meatballs and spring rolls for starters, very nice. Pork and Chicken for mains were a little overcooked. Merangue and applie pie for desert both nice. Not very many peple in the restaurant, so very little atmosphere.

Buenos Aires Grill
Unit 2 Castle Way, Golden Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

First time here for a girls night out. Opted for the early bird menu. The starters we quite small and they got the order wrong, so one of us had to wait 10 minutes for a starter, by which time the others had finished theirs. Long pause between courses. The restaurant was full and there seemed to be only two members of staff waiting tables. The striploin steak was fantastic and worth the wait. We all opted for the Eton Mess for dessert, which was a little different to what we expected, but nice enough. Very good value, and I'd come again.

12 of went here for our Christmas night out. We had to take the early booking as they were so busy. There was a set menu, but plenty of choises for main courses. The starters were the mixed selection -all really good. Everyone enjoyed the main courses, though the green curry wasn't very hot (it was suppsed to have 3*'s), but we all cleared our plates. This was my first tme here, and I'd like to go back when it's not so busy.

The Cheese Pantry
104 Drumcondra Road Upper, North Dublin, Drumcondra, Dublin

First time here, and liked it. The early bird is good value, 2 courses for €17.50, but you have to have starter and main, you can't have a main and dessert :-( Both of us had the goats cheese as a starter and it was delicious. I had the beef bourguignon for main and it was really tasty. The meat was really tender. My companion had the plaice and didn't really enjoy it very much. We shared the crumble for dessert which was good.

This was my first time here. The early bird is good value. I had meatballs to start- they cam out really quickly, so I guess they were jut sitting waiting to be served. The Fajitas were good. The glass od wine is really only a half glass!. My friend ate the Chili con carne and was happy with it. The service was very good. The food was tasty and the early bird is good value for money.

I'd heard a lot about this restaruant before I visited. We were there at 18:30, so there were very few other diners there. My firnd had fish cakes which were a bit rubbery, I have spring rolls which were nice. Main courses we had were beef cuury and a chicken and prawn noodle dish. Both were lovely. The service was excellent. On the night they had a problem with the lights in that they kept goig out - fuse problem apparently. I enjoyed the food, it was very good value for the erly bird, we didn't try dessert as there were only 2 choices -ice cream or fresh fruit salad.

This was my first time here, and I was impressed. We visited on the bank holiday weekend and had to book ahead. The service was good and the food excellent. As a non fish eater in a fish restaurant, I found I had plenty to choose from. We all enjoyed the food. The only disappointing thing was that they had very little bottled beer left by the time we got there still I suppose that can be a good thing too! I'd like to come again when it's not so busy.

Three of us decided to try here as we have vouchers. When we arrived at 6:45 we were the only people there, but it filled up around 7:30. The food was really good and the servce excellent. I felt the choice of starters was a little limiting as I don't eat fish, but I had the soup which was really tasty. My frends both had prawns wich they said were really good. For main course I had sausage and my friends had duck. We all thought it was good. We ordered threee different deserts in order to taste each of them and again all were excellent. I'd definitely come back again.

The decor here is just great! Nautical theme everywhere. Three of us went after work - food a little bit different - but in a good way. The portions were big. Unfortunately they didn't have the chicken skewer so I had to have pork instead, however it was very good. My colleagues had wild boar and duck. We all thought the food was good. They had a special offer that if you buy a starter and main then you can have a cocktail or glass of wine or dessert free. The waitress didn't point this out to us, we just happened to see a flyer about it on another table. It's a pity they don't do an early bird menu, but I would go there again. It serainly is different.

OKA Restaurant
Northwood Demense, North Dublin, Santry, Dublin

15 of us went here to celebrate an 80th birthday. We pre ordered the starters and these were ready for us when we arrived at 13:30. The main courses were served quite quickly after we ordered. All the food was very tasty, the service was good. There was only one other table occupied at lunchtime on Sunday which is a shame, as I thought the food was really good. The lunch special represents good value.

Davis's Restaurant @ The Yeats Tavern

Stopped here for a quick bite on Suday afternoon. The a la carte looked a bit on the expensive side, but they have a good selection of sandiwches and pizzas. We opted for pizza, on vegetarian and one not. Both were very tasty. I felt they were good value compared to the rest of the menu.

Captain America's Cookhouse And Bar

Haven't been here is ages, so decided to try it for a change. The cocktails we had were very disappointing, not as nice as they used to be. Nachos for starter wre relly good, but the rest of the food was just OK. Pizza was a bit stodgy, burger -well a burger is a burger - a bit heavy on the mushroom sauce -a bit of a drowning really. The mexican chicken was a little overcooked and therefore very dry. Service was very good. Overall I was disappointed.

This was my first time in this branch of Milano. I went in at lunchtime. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have any lunch specials on offer, but I guess they don't have to as it was really busy! We each had pizza and all were excellent. The service was good and teh staff friendly, even though they were very busy. I would come back again!

Courtyard Restaurant
Carnegie Court Hotel, North Street, Swords, Swords, Dublin

Went here on the city deals voucher. The food was excellent. Gamberi and chiken skewers for starters and beef and guinness pie for main courses. I'm a bit cautious about pies as sometimes you get poor quality meat, but this was not the case here. The pie was excellent. Dessert was apple crumble and merangue -again excellent. It represents very good value even without the voucher. I was pleasantly suprised and would definitely go again.

Eight of us wnet here last Friday. The service was rally bad. It took 20 minutes to be served drinks and even then they got the order wrong. We ordered spirits and mixers and they poured the mixer into the dirnks. The mixers used were flat and were not fresh out of a bottle. The food however was good, and repreents good value. It was slow in coming down to us so again I feel the service was at fault.

Oscar Taylor Restaurant
Island View Hotel, Coast Road, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

We dropped in here without a booking and had to wait 40 mins for a table. The early bird menu is really good value, but not very original. The garlic mushrooms are predictible, and the mini spring rolls aer tasty, but onyl 3 on the plate. Haddock was finished, but Salmon was offered instead. The chicken stir fry was good. The mixed veg were broccoli and mashed turnip, which was swimming in water, so not very appealing. Dessert was Lemon Meringue pie - tasty and apple pie -also tasty. I enjoyed the meal apart from the vegetables, and it's great value for the early bird. Very busy with lots of familes (and screaming babies).

Ravellos Restaurant
Clonsilla Village, Dublin 15, Clonsilla, Dublin

This was my first time here. I tried it on the strength of the advertised menu for the special. When you get the menu most of the items on it carried a supplement if you were having the set price meal. We found 1 maybe 2 choices that weren't charging a supplement in each section i.e.2 pastas, 2 pizzas etc. I felt this was very misleading. That said however we managed to order food that didn't attract the additional charge and it was very tasty. Service was good. I felt overall that I would definitely vome back again now that I know about the way they structure the menu,

Milano (Dawson Street)

Went here after visiting the National Concert Hall, so we were quite late gettng there. Restaurant was really busy. The service was really slow and it took several attempts to get some water to drink. We ordered a pizza and a Ceaser salad. It took quite a while to arrive. The pizza wasn't particularly hot, and the sun dried tomatoes were cold. Didn't bother to send it back as we felt it would take ages and it was hard to get the attention of the waiters. Overall very disappointed. Maybe we just got them on a bad night as I've been to other branches of Milano and enjoyed the experience.

Cloister Restaurant
Abbey Street, Ennis, Clare

We opted for the early bird. Very good value at €19.95 for 4 courses. Sea bass to start very tasty followed by breast of chicken, which was also very tasty. Well cooked. Food was nicely presented and service was good. Desserts were nice as well. The special offer on the early bird gave ladies a free Mojito. We had to ask for ours and the waitress didn't know about the offer, but we were given the cocktail without any problem. The only downside was that the restaurant was quite cold, we didn't take our coats off until well into the meal. Other diners alos wore their coats. We asked for the heat to be turned up, and it took a while to feel the benefit. I would definitely come here again.

This was my first time here. The early bird menu was excellent value, with a reasonable choice. The chicken was very good. We arrived in dribs and drabs, but there was no problem with us all ordering at different times. The staff were friendly and very efficient. We were offered the option of having a glass of wine instead of either a starter or dessert, which was great as we had no room for dessert after having a starter and main course. I'd definitely recomend this place.

Visited here with three others. We had asked for a table close to the door as we had a person of limited mobility with us, but got a table quite a long way down the restaurant, however we managed. The food was good and great value. We split a nachos as a starter and there was loads -we struggled to finish it! Burgers and steak all very tasty. No room for dessert. Cocktails were great and they even offered to make one that wasn't on the menu as they don't have many rum based ones. Would definitely come here again.

We were here around 6.00pm, and it wasn't very busy, hence not much atmosphere. Starters were excellent -meatballs and crostini. Pizzas were OK. The 4 seasons on with the artichoke was a bit much - lumps of artichoke literally on a quarter of the pizza -great if you like lots of artichoke! The early bird menu is great value I would come here again, I just wouldn't get the 4 seasons pizza!.

Visited here amidst all the snow and chaos! We were seated just inside the door, so felt a little chill each time the door was opened, but the restaurant was well heated, so it was OK. The portions were very large, we felt that tow starters between the three of us would have been enough. We each had chicken dishes for mains and again the portions were very big. Very tasty. The service was very good and we were not rushed between courses. We ended up not having dessert but again we were not rushed into making our minds up. Would definitely come again.

Eight of us went for a night out. All really happy with our food. Goats Cheese crostini was fab! Medallions of beef were two large steaks. Beautifully cooked and very tender, but too much meat!!!! It was very busy all night (what recession?), but our servers were very attentive. We had one vegetarian who was a little disappointed with the choices and said that what she had was 'just ok' You have to book to get in here, but worth it.

Bar Italia

I didn't try the set dinner 3 course meal, as I thought at €30 is was a tad expensive , especially compared to other nearby restaurants. The Diavola Pizza was good. The Ravioli was just OK. There was a lot of cream sauce and there should have been some more ravioli. There was very little atmosphere in the restaurant -possibly because we were there at 6. An early bird menu would have been good.

Chapter One Restaurant

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for ages. It was a great experience!. Three of us went for the pre theatre menu. The white pudding starter was just OK according to the friend who had it, and the cheese starter was ok. The Hake and lamb shoulder were excellent. We couldn't decide which dessert to have so we each got a different one and tased all three. The warm chocolate was by far the nicest. The waiters were very attentive. It was quite formal, so that's why I docked a half point for atmosphere. At €37.50 I felt it a little on the expensive side. It was an experience and I would go back again - but not for a while. We were a little rushed towards the end as we had to vacate the table by 19:45.

I really enjoyed my visit here. I had garlic and cheese mushrooms to start and my friend has the bruschetta. I folllowed with the ostich and my friend the sea bass. We both licked out plates. We were in no rush to have a dessert, and we were allowed plenty of time to sip our wine before chosing, which was profiteroles and cheesecake, both of which ere excellent. Three of us vistited this restaurant. The starters were Flautas -deep fried tortilla parcels and nanchos were excellent. Two of us had chicken fajitas and the other person had a burger. The chicken in the fajitas was a little overcooked, and the sauce was not very spicy. The burger was good. For dessert we split apple pie and cheesecake, both of which were good. There were very few people there on thie night, which is whi I narked the atmosphere down.

Went here on a Saturday night. It was busy engough when we arrived, (8.00 pm)but emptied out soon afterwards. The place felt cold. The food was average, but because the place was so cold, the pizzas went cold very quickly. The waiter was efficient. There seems to be only one toilet in the place (shred between men and women) -which seems very little, and at times there was a bit of a queue even though it wasn't very busy. I wouldn't be rushing back here again.

Eight of us went for our Christmas lunch. The restaurant was relly busy, but the service and food weree excellent. It was a very busy time and all tables were occupied. We were all served quickly and efficiently. Everyone really enjoyed the food. I have been here before and I was impressed that even though it was the week before Christmas and all tables were occupied the standard of the food was consistently high. Very good value. The only negative point was that in between courses there were very few staff around. They all seemed to disappear for a while and only reappeared with our food.We might have ordered two more bottlesof wine had they not been so busy!

We were seated close to the door, so got plenty of blasts of cold air during our stay. The Bruschetta was really good as a starter - three of us shared the large one. One person had steak which was excellent. The other two had Gnocchi, which were a little stodgy. The sauce with it was very good. THe house wine is very good value at €15 per bottle. Initially the waiter taking our order seemed more interested in looking at the people coming in the door, than taking our order, but once the order was given the service was good. The toilets needed tending to.

We were under-whelmed by this restaurant. The mixed meat platter as a starter was nice but the main courses were very disappointing. The sauces on the chicken were not nice, one of them tasted more like oxtail soup! The Khazana Murgh did not live up to it's expected level of spiciness with 2 chillie symbols. It was really balnd and no hine of spice at all.The service was very slow. They had no wine licence so we had to have beer. Having been informed that they only have one beer we were then served warm pints! Later we saw other diners with bottles of another brand of beer...

The starters were excellent. The main course was disappointing. It seemed at though half the starter came back as main couse in the form of the side salad. I would have preferred to have some vegetables instead of the recycled starter. They should stick to Italian and not bother with the Italian-Iriah stuff. Maybe put the english translation of the dishes on the menu to save us having to ask all the time! What's 'speck' ? Will try here again. but will stick to the pasta dishes.

Very good value at €9.90 for all you can eat in the evenings. Little or no atmosphere or service. The tables are very small and chairs not very comfortable. One friend had the deed fried haddock, and the other had scallops and cod. They both really enjoyed the food. The service was OK. The food was a bit slow in coming, but worth waiting for. I went back here as I hadn't been for some time. I wasn't disappointed. My friend just wanted a dessert as she had eaten earlier that day, but I had the two courses for €15 deal. There was a good choice. The spicey lamb was really tasty as a starter and the burger for main course was excellent. It was cooked to perfection and was melt in your mouth quality. I couldn't manage dessert, but my friend had the knickerbocker glory which was a little strange to say the least! She didn't enjoy it at all. It was very stodgy with lemon curd like substance in the bottom, trifle in the middle and cream on top. Wouldn't recommend theis dessert, but everything else was really good.
