Visited Ming Court last night with my husband and as usual we were not disapointed. Booked for seven o clock and the place was fairly buzzing at that time. Lots of families, which was nice to see. We ordered the set menu and all I can say is there was a lot of food! Soup to start, they a platter of chicen, ribs andspring rolls. All delicious. By the time the mains came, sweet and sour chicken, beef in blackbean sauce and the nicest strawberry ribs you could ever have, we were fairly full up. The staff packed our leftovers up and we took them home for lunch today. Overall a very pleasant dining experience. Staff friendly and attentive, great food and good value.

Browns steakhouse is a friendly, efficient , local business and I go up regularly for dinner. On this occasion I was with my husband and grand daughter and both were happy with the food they choose. I intended ordering off the early bird menu but I found it to be fairly limited in choice. Myself and Shannon choose burgers which were delicious and quite big. Hubby choose two starters, pate and chicken wings , which he devoured. Maybe a jug of water on the table would be a good idea as I had to ask for a refill. The waiter serving us was pleasant, as were all the people we encountered. Bill of 45 euro was good value so we will continue to eat here.

F.X. BUCKLEY Steakhouse Crow Street
2 Crow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Ordered from the early bird menu and found it to be great value. There were three of us and we all ordered the rump stake, at the recommendation of the very helpful waitress. One sister had a problem with hers, it was replaced and more sides given. I found mine to be delicious, as was the side order of honeyed carrots and parsnips, and onion rings. Sister number two also cleared her plate. We had chocolate tart and cheesecake for dessert which were both delicious. Service was excellent and the waitresses very friendly. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

The Gingerman Waterford
6 Arundel la Waterford Co. Waterford, Waterford City, Waterford

We found this great pub just by chance, up a side street in Waterford City. It was a stroke of luck as it seems to be the best place to have lunch. It was packed, mothers with young kids, couples and family groups were all enjoying the hearty food they serve here. Hubby had chowder and a sandwich which he enjoyed immensely while I chose the chicken panini. All I can say is I struggled to get through the gigantic portions, salad, coleslaw, chips and very large roll. Even though it was very busy the service was quick and friendly. We will return if we are ever back in that part of the country, it is a little jem.

Brownes Steakhouse
The Plaza, Blanchardstown Village, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Paid a return visit to Brownes steakhouse but have to say I found the menu to be very limited this time. Eventually I chose ribs as a starter, while hubby chose the chicken wings. Both were ok although there was not a lot of meat on the ribs. On the plus side the sauce was delicious. Hubby chose a garlic chicken dish which certainly lived up to its name as the garlic taste took over the whole dish. I had a New York burger which was delicious. The restaurant was very busy so service was quite slow but friendly enough. Overall it was an ok meal and not bad value.

KC Peaches Cafe & Delicatessen (Nassau Street)
28/29 Nassau Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Went into KCPeaches for an early lunch last Thurs and must say the food is really excellent. I was in the company of my daughter, her husband and four year old daughter, jess. The adults all had chicken salad sandwiches on different types of bread, which hit the spot each time. Unusual veg crisps accompanied them, which were different but tasty. Jess wanted scrambled eggs but was told by a rather unpleasant staff member that there was none. She was not impressed with the rashers she choose but enjoyed the sausages. We finished off with a lovely slice of chocolate cake and coffee. Our bill came to just over 40 euro which we felt was good value for the standard of food. Apart from the unsmiling staff, not all of them,it was a pleasant experience and one I would repeat.

The Phoenix Court Restaurant
Blackhorse Avenue (Over Cummiskey's), North Dublin, Dublin 7, Navan Road, Dublin

Bought two menupage vouchers and brought our two grand kids out for dinner. A fussy 19 year old and a hungry 7 year old but both gave the seal of approval to the Phoenix Court. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, with both families and couples, so we were seated a little while before the waitress took our order. The starters, ribs, chicken wings, spring rolls and shredded chicken were excellent and the empty plates proved this point! The main courses did not disappoint either, we all ate our fill and there was still some left over. We shared chicken curry, sweet and sour, chow mein and chicken in black bean sauce and we could not fault a single thing. We finished with ice cream and coffee and left feeling well satisfied. We will return as it was the best value meal we have had in a long time.

Dante (Blanchardstown)
Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Paid a visit to Dante with my daughter and husband on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised at the range of food on the menu. I thought it would be basically pizza but the menu catered for all tastes. Hubby and myself shared a large bowl of tasty chicken wings to start. We both went for chicken, his stuffed, mine chargrilled, with roast veg and new potatoes. We cleared the plates as it was tender and tasty. Deb went for the salmon, with garlic potatoes and broccoli. Once again the plate was cleared, with nothing but praise for the delicious meal. We were served by a lovely, attentive waitress who gave us all water as soon as we sat down. It was very quiet for a Sun evening but never the less there was a good, pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant. Our bill came to 68 euro, which included a glass of wine and a bottle of sparkling water. Overall we found it a pleasant experience, good food for a good price. I would recommend Dante and I will certainly pay a return visit myself.

Kay’s Food Hall
Blanchardstown Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

I am a regular diner in Kays, mostly to enjoy one of their fine scones. I visited it yesterday with my daughter, who was not happy to be served a cold baked potato. Unfortunatly this is a regular occurance and something I think they are going to have to address. It was very frustrating for my daughter as she was really hungry and had to wait over ten mins for it to come back to her. It is a pity because apart from this complaint I really like the restaurant. It is a busy place with shoppers resting their weary legs and having a welcome cuppa. The atmosphere is nice and friendly, with plenty of seating. If they solve the problem of the cold food it really could be the best place to eat in Blanchardstown shopping centre.

The Harbour Seafood Bar & Grill
Harbour Hotel, New Docks, Galway City, Galway

Had Sunday lunch in the Harbour Hotel today with my Daughter and two grandkids. Have to say it was very good value for the food that was on offer. The buffet menu was not very extensive but there was plenty to suit us all. The kids had fish cakes for starters, which they polished off fairly rapidly. Deb and myself had a selection of salads, with prawns and pasta. Main course meats were Lamb and pork, with a thai green chicken curry. There was also some very tasty baked cod for the non meat eater. There was plenty of veg, roast and mashed potatoes, and delicious stuffing to add to the meats. There was a choice of around six different desserts, all tested by us and passed with flying colours. The service was excellent, our waitress could not do enough for us,in fact she gave the kids a box to take some cake away with them. I will certainly pay a return visit when back in Galway, bill only came to 45 euro as kids eat free. Best value meal I have had in a long time.

Mocha's Vintage Tea Rooms
4 The Arches, Gas Lane, Kilkenny, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

Paid a visit to the Vintage Tea rooms on a recent visit to Kilkenny and enjoyed the experience. It is a very elegent establishment and very pleasant to sit and taste their wares! We were a party of four and all enjoyed our lunch. Two of us had a salad plate but there was a bit of confusion as to the omission of certain ingredients on the menu. Our waitress said no problem but was called over by another member of staff and told that as they were already made up there could be no changes! I opted for something else and enjoyed it. The Men had tasty sandwiches, which filled the gap. Overally a pleasant and different dining experience.

Swans Chinese Restaurant (Kilkenny)
The Parade Kilkenny, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

Was in kilkenny for St Patricks day and paid a visit to Swans chinese restaurant. Best decision of the weekend by far. Service and food was amazing. We were welcomed by a lovely waitress and given a jug of water straight away. We chose the set menu which was good value at 56 euro as there was a lot of food. My favourite was the sizzling steak which was very tender and tasty. I could not fault one aspect of this visit. The waitress was attentive but not hovering over us. She kindly offered to pack our leftovers up for us to take home. We were then offered a drink on the house, which is unusual to say the least. I would recommend the Swan to anybody looking for a good tasty meal in Kilkenny city.

The Carpenter
Carpenterstown Road, Castleknock, Dublin

Sunday carvery was the order of the day when we paid a visit to one of our local pubs, the Carpenter. First thing I noticed was the fairly small plates which were filled to capacity with tasty food. I choose the beef and by the time he put a large portion plus a mountain of stuffing it was quite full. The waitress proceeded to pile spuds and veg on and the result was massive. All I can say is that I did justice to it as it was delicious. The beef was very tender and the chicken my husband had was equally nice.Very good value at only over 10 euro each, almost cheaper than cooking it myself. Overall a friendly, clean pub with a mixture of families and young people all enjoying a quiet drink and a bite to eat.

Ming Court Chinese Restaurant
Unit 453 Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Myself and my husband made a return visit to our favourite chinese restaurant in blanchardstown. We ordered from the set menu, because of the ribs in strawberry sauce. I know it sounds strange but I would recommend them to anybody! Absolutly delicious. The amount of food would have to be seen to be believed, suffice to say that we left with a large doggy bag! The standard of the food was excellent. We had soup, a selection of starters and then three mains to share. The curry was delicious, as was the sweet and sour and beef. We had to pass on dessert, finishing off with a nice coffee. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere relaxed, with many tables full of families. With a glass of wine and sparkling water our bill came to just over sixty euro.

The Bell Pub & Restaurant
Navan Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Enjoyed a bite to eat in the Bell on Saturday night. We each only had a main course, thankfully, as the portions were very large and filling. Hubby choose fish and chips, a classic well cooked choice. I opted for the steak sandwich, which was well done as requested. It was filled with fried onions and served with chips and salad. No complaints about the food at all although I would advise any would be diners to go early as by 8 o clock the music was starting. We did'nt stay around but judging by the size of the speakers it was loud! Atmosphere was good, staff friendly and tasty food. We will be back.!

De Brúns
Ashleigh Centre, Main Street, Castleknock, Dublin

Ordered from the early bird menu when I visited this restaurant with my husband last week. Atmosphere friendly and cosy with quite a few families enjoying their meal. We both had Caprice salad for starters, small portions but tasty enough. Our free range chicken was very tasty, only gripe was the lack of veg. The dish was served with a potato and mushrooms, plus a very fragrant spring roll which I still can't decide whether I loved or hated! Service was brisk but not over friendly. The bill of 44.00 euro included a glass of wine, a bottle of water and two coffees. Overall, it was a good dining experience. We left satisifed and will return again.

TGI Friday (Blanchardstown)
Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Went to TGI's with my two sisters and must say I enjoyed the experience. We went for two courses for 15 euro and I must say it was very good value. We shared two starters, onion rings and chicken wings and both were excellent. Two choose the chicken, cheesy potatoes and veg while one went for the classic burger. We were all happy with our choices and really enjoyed them. The atmosphere was good, busy with a lot of families and tourists. The only thing that let it down was our waitress. On previous visits the staff were very friendly and attentive but not on this occasion. She showed no interest at all and if we wanted anything , like more drinks or clean forks,we had to ask her. Apart from that it was an excellent evening.

La Dolce Vita (Kilmainham)
758/760 South Circular Road, South Dublin, Kilmainham, Dublin

Visited La Dolce Vita last saturday and we had a mixed reaction to our food. There was four of us and we shared 2 bruschetta's.The very friendly waitress served us each a large slice, with a mountain of tomatoes on top. Very tasty and great value. I went for the fillet steak sandwich, which was covered with far too many onions although the steak itself was very tender. My husband had one of the specials of the night, lamb shank. He was not a happy diner! Said it was the worse meal he had in a long time. Shank tiny and potatoes tasteless. The other couple enjoyed what they ordered. Overall, the food was tasty, service prompt and friendly. I will go back and try it again.

Reeves Restaurant
172 Templeogue Road, Dublin 6w, Templeogue, Dublin

Went to Reeves restaurant with a group of 17 people to celebrate a 70th birthday and it proved to be a wonderful dining experience. The waiting staff were very friendly and professional. There were quite a few tables full yet there was no rushing or fussing and the orders flowed effortlessly. My starter of chicken salad could have passed as a main and the selection of bread wasvery tasty. My main course was a stuffed chicken dish which was also very good. Everybody had different dishes and no had any complaints, except that the shank of lamb was far too big! There was so much veg and potatoes that nobody could finish.Desserts and coffee finished off a fine meal and everyone left feeling very happy. Will be back.

Hard Rock Cafe
12 Fleet Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Visited Hard Rock with my daughter and 2 small grandkids. Service was great,if a little bit slow, waiter very friendly and smiley, even when grandson spilt his milk all over the floor! My cheese burger was excellent, well cooked and very tasty. Kids shared a meal, big portion of chicken and lots of chips. Garnished with slices of orange, it went down a treat. Daughter had the sharing platter, quite expensive at 27.00, but she enjoyed it so it was worth the money. Overall it was a pleasent experience, great atmosphere and good fun. Will go back again soon.

Captain America's Blanchardstown
Unit 40 Blanchardstown, Retail Park 2 Extension Dublin, West Dublin, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Visited Cptain Americas for lunch with my sister and was not too happy with the outcome. The place itself was fine, lots of families happily eating away, which made for a good atmosphere. We choose from the lunch munu, at 10 euro great value. I have been there before and usually choose the club sandwich, which I always enjoy. This time we both choose burgers, which were of a very poor standard. Meat was very thick and tasteless. To make it even worse my sister ordered a glass of rose, which comes with the lunch, and was told they had none. Our waitress was attentive but not overly, which sometimes is the case. Dont think I will be rushing back!

Kilkenny Restaurant & Cafe
1st Floor, 5/6 Nassau Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Had a very nice lunch here on friday, only complaint was the service. Waited 20 mins on club sandwich even though the restaurant was not that busy. But it was worth the wait as it was very tasty with a nice portion of tasty chips on the side. Had a slice of tart for afters which I could not finish as the main was so filling. Lots of tourists seemed to be eating here, taking their time and having a break from shopping! Overall it was very good value for such high quality food. Will definatly go back.

Bradys Castleknock Inn
Old Navan Road, Castleknock, Dublin

The service we recieved on our visit was excellent. The waitress was friendly but not overpowering. Our starters were tasty, chicken wings and garlic mushrooms although the side salad was a bit boring. The main courses, fish and chips and chicken fajitas were huge, they reminded me of eating in America! At the next table a bunch of lads were tucking into their meals, they all seemed to be enjoying them. Overall, I have had better meals for the same price. There are fantastic early bird menus for 20 euro, and special offers in lots of restaurants. However, I still came away satisfied, the bar was friendly, the service was excellent and the food was tasty.
