436 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 3
Reviewed 15th October 2007 ( visited 14th October 2007 )Surprised to see a few negative reviews on this place, I ate here yesterday and I really could not fault the place. Food was top class, service was excellent and a lovely atmosphere. Excellent value for Sunday lunch at 20 euro. Highly recommended.
1 West Pier, Howth, Dublin 13, Howth, Dublin, Area Code:
Reviewed 08th August 2007 ( visited 08th August 2007 )I went for a meal here on Sunday and was not the best to say the least. Food portions very small when they eventually arrived and not the friendliest of staff. For what you pay I would say it is not worth it.
3 Temple Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin
Very average place dont expect to much if you are going cheap and cheerful and not the worst indian food around.
The Church Cafe Bar & Restaurant
Junction of Mary St. & Jervis St., Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
Nice place to eat especially upstairs with nice seats. Food is pretty good and and atmosphere although a bit noisy but overall would recommend.
The Harbour Master Restaurant & Bar
Custom House Dock, I.F.S.C Dublin 1, IFSC, Dublin
Had lunch here last Friday and the only thing I can say is the food the service and everything else are very average.
The Oar House Fish Restaurant
8 West Pier, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin
This is a lovely little restaurant in Howth even if it only seats about 25 or 30 people. Food and especially fish are near perfect. The chips are also the nearest you will get to home made and portions are huge. I will certainly be going back.
ZAO Thai Restaurant
96B Omni Park Shopping Centre, Swords road , North Dublin, Santry, Dublin
Surprised to see some negitive reviews about this place as I thought food and service was excellent and had no complaints.
The Quays Irish Restaurant
10-12 Temple Bar Square, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Overall found this place ok nothing spectacular. Just went off the cuff last week and was nice for that. Wouldn't be planning a big night out here though and was just ok.
80 Aungier Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Very impressive place to eat would highly recommend especially the steak!! Not that expensive compared to other restaurants in the area.
La Cuvee @ Eno Wine Bar
1 Burton Hall, Mayor Square, IFSC, City Centre North, Dublin
Went here for a friends birthday and have to say was very impressive. Food was top class and service was excellent but food was a bit expensive which seems to be a common theme these days with restaurants!!
Northwood Demense, North Dublin, Santry, Dublin
Overall a little disappointed with this place. Have to say service was one of the best ever contary to other reviews. Food was nice but nothing spectacular. I was seated under air conditioning unit and it was blowing right down on top of me on a cold night. I brought it to the attention of staff and they did not turn it off. So i had a breezy evening!! Also it was very expensive
Quay 16 Restaurant @ MV Cill Airne
MV Cill Airne, North Wall Quay, IFSC, Dublin
I think the bar food at this restaurant is actually nicer than the main menu especially the cooked 3 times chips!! Expensive enough and wouldnt fancy eating here on a bad night at sea.
193 Clontarf Road, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin
Here for first time since it was given a make-over and one problem remains - TOO CRAMMED. I can’t believe they spent money on this place and you still can’t swing a cat in it, just take a few tables out. Food was very nice and service was pretty good.
Howth Road, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin
Had lunch here and was pleasantly surprised with the food and everything else it doesn't look much from outside but it was very nice.
Wrights Findlater Howth Restaurant
Findlater House, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin
Had lunch here yesterday and it really is just average nothing more than glorified pub grub.
King Sitric Fish Restaurant
East Pier, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin
Having read so many good reviews about this place i was really looking forward to it. I was however left a little disappointed. Food was nice but it didn't take my breath away. Service a little slow and it is really really overpriced. A lot better avaialble in Howth at far more reasonable prices.
Bijou Bistro & Wine
46/47 Highfield Road, Dublin 6, Rathgar, Dublin
Met friends here for dinner last week and i was a bit hasty when i heard it was a bistro but i need not have worried as the place was excellent. Service top class on a busy night and the food was as good as you can get.
2B Vernon Avenue, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin
this is a near hidden little gem in Clontarf! Probably the best fish I have had in any restaurant it was near perfect. Staff and atmosphere also excellent which made for a most enjoyable evening. I'll be back here very soon.
9 James Terrace, Malahide, Dublin, Malahide, Dublin
Only my third time here and I'm sorry to say but I think the Michelin star has gone to the head a bit. First and foremost the food is still excellent and that is important, however it is ridiculously over priced. I agree with previous comments regarding maitre de are they not listening?? Finally my biggest gripe is the appalling service over an hour wait for mains simply not good enough especially with them prices.
The Orchid Chinese Restaurant
12 New Street, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin
Pretty average meal out didn't really rock my boat and I won't be in a hurry back.
Samsara - No longer serving food.
36 Dawson Street, Dawson Street, Dublin
Met a friend for drink on Friday here and was looking forward to food but was very disappointed with menu and then quality of food. Nice place for a relaxing drink though.
Carnegie Court Hotel, North Street, Swords, Swords, Dublin
Have to say this is probably the best early bird menu around in terms of value. For just 17.95 you have a pretty good choice and service and atmosphere were also very good. Highly recommended for value if nothing else
The Boxty House
20-21 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Not Bad and not great is the best way to sum up my dining expereince here but i will say our american friends were very impressed!!
7 The Green, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin
Very impressed with this new addition to Malahide. Excellent early bird menu more to it than you would imagine. Decor and layout also very impresseive as were staff. Recomend
Mexico to Rome
23 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Fantastic value if you go for the early bird with a fairly decent menu as early birds go!
369 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin
Thought food was just ok here but i found it very cramped inside and were in a big rush to get rid of us. It is probably good value but is more like pub grub than a restaurant
Farm Restaurant (Dawson Street)
3 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin
Had lunch here today and it was very nice indeed. Service a little slow but it was lunch time and I would really recommend it for a lunch when passing by.
Wans Garden Chinese Restaurant
191 Howth Road, Clontarf, Killester, Dublin
Oh my God!! The worst restaurant I have ever had the misfortune of eating out of! Friend's birthday brought me but it was tacky and somewhat dirty from the time I walked in. Food was the worst I have ever tasted in any restaurant (and I use that word lightly describing this place) in any county or country in fact!!! Probably the worst thing was when I asked for a beer and I got it in a can (yes a can of heineken with not even a glass). I can only advise to keep on going when you are looking for something to eat at this place. Truly awful
Smyths Cock Tavern Swords
31 Main Street, Swords, Dublin
Nice food and reasonably priced didnt know you could go upstairs as downstairs was a bit crowded but very nice lunch(steak recommended). Service was also very prompt.
1 Vernon Avenue, Clontarf, Dublin
Nice food and nice resturant but way over priced plenty of better and cheaper around the area.
Thunder Road Cafe
Fleet Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin
This would not be my pick for something to eat but a birthday got me in. Food was quite nice but way over priced. The service was very poor and I think we waited 20 minutes before we ordered. Overall I wouldn't be rushing back to pay nearly 20 euro for a burger.
15 Stephen Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Dobbins was as good a meal I have had in a long time. Tempura prawns for starter were mouth wathering and for main course salmon was cooked to perfection. Service and atmosphere top class. Highly recommended.
Wongs of Clontarf
436 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin
Surprised to see a few negative reviews on this place, I ate here yesterday and I really could not fault the place. Food was top class, service was excellent and a lovely atmosphere. Excellent value for Sunday lunch at 20 euro. Highly recommended.
Casa Pasta (Clontarf)
55 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin
This place has gone downhill for a while now. I ate there last week and I won't be rushing back. It was far too small and staff were not the most pleasant I have encountered. The food was just average and it was an overall big disappointment.
Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Finally got to Luigi's on Monday and it was well worth the wait! I had a loveley sirolin steak and my wife had firecracker prawns; both were near perfect. The dessert I have to mention the ice cream tower which was lovely. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Overall I would recommend it.
New Street, Malahide, Dublin
Had lovely lunch here, food was excellent. The service was a bit slow given the fact it was pretty empty but the food was well worth waiting for.
Kitty Hawks Bar & Bistro
Carlton Airport Hotel, Old Airport Road, Cloughran, Cloghran, Dublin
Had a beautiful meal here last week. Food. Atmosphere and service top class highly recommended.
Old Airport Road, North Dublin, Santry, Dublin
Came across this place by accident but it was a lovely restaurant.Food service and fairly reasonable. I recommend it under cheap and cheerful!
Kielys of Donnybrook
22 Donnybrook Road, Donnybrook, Dublin
Had dinner here last weekend and I have to say I couldn't fault the place. Food was excellent and I recommend the Italian meatballs - perfect. Overall I would highly recommend.
Newlands Cross, Naas Road, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin
Had a meal here last Saturday and was a bit disappointed. Looks lovely from the outside but inside was like a big barn. Food wasn't great and service was pretty poor. Overall a big disappointment.
Silks Chinese Restaurant
5 The Mall , Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin
Food fantastic, service terrible and very, very pricey: that's my observations on Silks!!
The Yacht (Clontarf)
73 Clontarf Road, Clontarf, Dublin
Had meal here last night and was very impressed. The yacht special a fish dish with a mixture of prawn, shrimp, cod and salmon was as good as I have tasted anywhere. My wife just went for a simple steak and that to was very nice. Pity it is a pub because it sort of takes away from it but top marks for food.
1 West Pier, Howth, Dublin 13, Howth, Dublin
I went for a meal here on Sunday and was not the best to say the least. Food portions very small when they eventually arrived and not the friendliest of staff. For what you pay I would say it is not worth it.
Airport Road, Cloghran, Dublin
Went for early bird menu, which at 17euro is petty good value. Fairly basic menu but good choice and service pretty prompt. Tables and decor could do with a change, as they look a bit old and used.
1 Shantalla Road Beaumont, Beaumont, Dublin
Ate here last night and I wont be returning ever! The most unhelpful staff I have ever witnessed in any pub or restaurant. Food terrible and when I complained about my steak been over done (asked medium to rare) the waitress put her eyes up to heaven and tutued. It took 15 mins for right steak to arrive by which time my wife had finished. Also the drink is way over priced and a bottle of coke is only 200ml enough for one short. Won’t see me in this place again.
New Hin Keng
25G Malahide Road, Artane, Artane, Dublin
I have eaten in this resturant many times and I am disappointed to say I find it slowly going downhill. The place could do with a makeover and the most important thing, the food, has gone downhill rapidly. To be fair can't fault the service or price but as I said the food quailty or portion size has changed a lot. Maybe I just had a bad night but I won't be rushing back having been a regular for some time now.
Kealys of Cloghran
Old Airport Road, (Off Airport Roundabout), North Dublin, Cloghran, Dublin
I had lovely food in this pub last night. I had simple burger and chips and my wife had chicken madras both lovely, Service was excellent and was very cheap. Highly recommended for something cheap and cheerful.
Coast Road, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin
Went to Seabank last weekend and over all a little disappointed with it over all. Very small and badly laid out a table for 2 just inside door (cold). Food was very nice I had T-bone steak, which was very nice, and my wife had smoked cod, which for 29euro was a bit expensive given the size of the piece. Overall nice place but I would say a bit to expensive and a bit to small!
