My first visit here last Saturday with my partners parents. It was just amazing, the decor is bright and airy and the seats are really comfy. We were well greated coats taken and put at a table near the big window. The menu is very varied and well priced for the food served. I had a fantastic special of Black Sole it was to die for. We also had Rack of Lamb, Pork Belly and a Fillet Steak. The staff are extremely friendly and very attentive. I had a great few pints of Guinness which I was surprised about as restaurants never usually have good draught. When they heard we were celebrating (Mammy's Birthday!!) a nice touch was the arrival of 4 glasses of Champagne "on the House". Already planning a return visit.

Met a business colleague here for lunch as he was travelling from Cork and thought it would be handy for parking etc. What a disaster was really embarrased. The place is dark and old fashioned, no effort has been put into any creature comforts and the staff were completley indifferent to the customers. The food was last century "pub grub" I was not enticed at all so I went for a sandwich which was worse than you would get in a bad garage stop. Tea was served out of a flask and was cold and tasted of coffee. My colleague went for one of the hot options but had to wait for a staff member to appear from the kitchen to be served. The floor staff just looked on as he stood and waited. His food tasted as it looked evidently had been lying around for a long time. Wont suggest there again I can assure you.

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill
51 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

First and last visit last night. Arrived about 6.30pm with no booking. It was packed but we were offered a table outside or one just inside the door. We decided to stay inside and were told the table would be required back @ 9pm. We were handed the menu and were surprised at the limited choice available. We had just sat down when we were hounded for our order. we asked for a few minutes to read the menu, nut our waiter was not waiting, he stood while we made our selections, asked did we want still or sparkling water and disappeared. That was the last we saw of him. It took ages for a wine order to be taken and boy do they know how to charge for their wine. Starter of Prawns € 14.50 for 6 prawns was just OK small portion of iceberg lettuce and marie rose sauce in martini glass. Herself had Crab mayonnaise but it was tasteless. Bad quality white bread was brought just before the starters. 2 x fillets to follow both Medium Rare cook Ok but actually cold to touch and eat. We had waited so long for our mains we just eat and kept quiet. Spinach was watery and not very nice. Chunky Chips were good and tasty. Dessert also are just way overpriced Eton Mess again small portion in martine glass. The place was packed all the time we were there and the noise level is very high. As we were at the door it was cold every time the door opened and people were standing waiting on booked tables all around us. Definatley not worth the very high prices

The Dropping Well
Classon's Bridge, Milltown, Milltown, Dublin

Have eaten here many times, the staff are very friendly and efficient. The food is "Pub Grub" but very well done and good value. It has great athmosphere and is a great place to watch sports on TV. The menu is very varied and the portions are generous, good steaks etc. very busy for lunch and they also do a great breakfast. They fall down on desserts though. Nice place to meet a few friends and they have a great terrace outdoors and a few good small alcoves inside which makes it nice and private for small groups.

JD's Steakhouse
4 Rathfarnham Road, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

Had not been here for a long time as I had not a good experience on my first visit. But I went along as a guest for a birthday celebration. The decor has not changed inside although it has changes on the outside. I recognised some of the staff from my last visit and was not optimistic about what was to come food wise. I dont like the interior as it is very dark and dull, the staff dont add to this as they never smile. The menu is good value though and i have to say the food was much improved since my last visit. the biggest problem is the staff as they dont seem to fully understand any special request and as a result your food comes out not as ordered. I would say that new owners have taken over and have improved the kitchen but it still needs a lot of work to entice customers back.

Joels Restaurant
Newlands Cross, Naas Road, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin

Myself and my partner find here good for a quick bite after a hard day at work. Food is not amazing but good and plain. Service is always fast and friendly. It is very big and usually has big parties celebrating family or business events. It is what it is fast food done well. It would not be my choice for a celebration or romantic evening, but certainly can offer a quick and tasty bite.

Wongs of Ranelagh
7 Sandyford Road, Ranelagh, Ranelagh, Dublin

Have been here many times and cant fault it. Service is very attentive and the food excellant. Staff very helpfull and you can design your own meal if you wish. Big helpings of food especially good if you are in a big group. Decor a bit dark and aged but good athmosphere and they serve quite late without making you feel under a compliment.

Bellagio

Eat here last February was not impressed. The waiting staff try their best to ignore you. Food was very average nothing wrong but not worth the money. Tables very close and everytime anyone at the tables beside you moved you had to move also. Nice decor but not comfortable.

Morilles Bistro
The Yellow House, Willbrook Road, Dublin 14, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Big disapointment with our experience at this new restaurant. Should have known when we arrived as the place was empty. Cheerfull enough girl greeted and took our order thought the menu was way overpriced. Starters were not good and things did not improve with our main course. We had ordered sirloin steak and got fillet well done not medium rare as we had ordered. Nothing was said about the change from sirloin to fillet and we were charged for fillet our sides were cold and no sauce was available except pepper. The staff then decided to have an arguement behind the bar about their rosters. We asked for our bill and got out quick. Will never be back it is a pity as the decor is nice and the restaurant comfortable.

Went there last Saturday great athmosphere as always, staff very friendly and helpful, food was good but steak a little chewy. Great place to celebrate a special occasion, but a litttle pricey I think.
