What I noticed most was the wonderful air conditioning inside this branch of McDonalds during the recent heatwave type spell we have had. Without it eating would have been very uncomfortable in a busy restaurant. The place was spotless and food as you expect perfect. Nice view of river where we got a table. The one hour parking is also good when you want to go in for a sit down meal. Have not used the drive in yet.

Barracuda
Strand Road, Bray, Wicklow

This restaurant has changed hands a few times over the years. It is a really nice venue for that special family meal out as it is right on Bray Seafront next to the promenade so if you get a window table you can look at the people walking along the promenade below and see the ferry passing by out to sea. The food is very good but the odd time when you visit the service can be quite slow. Some dishes can be expensive.

The Martello (Bray)
Strand Road, Bray, Wicklow

Really nice place to eat in Bray as it is down at the beach opposite the promenade. Good if you can book a window table in the upstairs conservatory overlooking the strand road and beach. Always a busy venue where you can have food served outdoors in covered area facing promenade - in cooler weather they have heaters so it is never cold there. Inside you can dine downstairs in the general pub area which is full of tables in winter an open fire at the end of the building. There are 2 or 3 small little booths downstairs for an intimate chat with a friend. Upstairs there is a large seating area behind the conservatory. Good food menu available 24/7. Always lots of choice. Service is always prompt with nice friendly staff. Good prices too. I put three for atmosphere because sometimes it can be so busy and crowded.

Jasmine House Chinese
85 Main Street, Bray, Wicklow

With many of our extended family living in Bray this is our favourite restaurant there. We go there as a family for all birthdays and anniversaries for over the last 25 years and the food and service has never ever disappointed us. The same family have been there all those years to keep up the good service having been in Dun Laoghaire Lotus House prior to that. Great early bird menu up to 7.30 in the evening and even after that they are not strict you can still most times avail of it for 3 courses. Unique decor in the lovely little booths with tiled roof at the tables for 4. They also arrange larger tables for family groups. Full take away menu always available. They used to bring you a plate of After Eight with your bill. Now they bring you fortune cookies which are a nice touch. They also give you a very large quantify of prawn crackers while you wait on your food. I give it an asbolute 100%. We are going again this weekend!

Moorland Cafe
96 West st, Drogheda, Drogheda, Louth

Have had lunch here several times. Shepherds pie, quiche and chicken & mushroom vol au vents are lovely. Only complaint is the chips. When you cut into them they are full of oil not good in this day and age when we are health conscious! I note this especially with the number of children having chips there. Think it is the flat shape of chips they just soak in the oil. That is main reason I did not score them a 5. The seating upstairs is nicer than the lower level or the ground floor. Beautiful selection of cakes and desserts. Offers too on take away cakes when you buy certain quantities. Large cakes for special occasions though are expensive.

Coffee Dock Cafe
Boyne ctr Drogheda, Drogheda, Louth

I go here at least once a week for a delicious dessert and pot of tea when I am down town shopping. Its excellent value at just €4.95. One day I was there I counted 19 different cakes and desserts to choose from. Great offers on salad plates and breakfasts too. Girls who work there are very friendly. Can be busy during the day but lucky I always find a small table for 2. Desserts are not to be missed cheesecakes, mousse, lemon meringue, coffee cake, chocolate eclaires etc. etc. Nice to drop in either on way to the cinema or afterwards if an early showing.

Tango Chinese Restaurant
Rathmullen Rd, Drogheda, Louth

This was my second visit here. Went with my son daughter in law and 3 year old granddaughter. We were seated at a nice window table. Adults had the All you can eat menu €22 each on Sunday with desserts as an extra after. It is a great way to try out new dishes. Each one was wonderful. We had frozen strawberry meringue dessert that was delicious. They gave granddaughter a small curry and she also had a scoop of ice cream for dessert. You can get a jug of orange mi wadi at reasonable cost for the table. Service like my first visit was excellent. We will be back with more family members in the future.
