La Caverna Restaurant & Wine Bar
12 Fownes Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 2
Reviewed 05th March 2009 ( visited 26th February 2009 )Lovely place, very cosy and romantic. Went on Friday night, as couldn't get table anywhere else, and there was still few tables available. Food was not the cheapest, but nice. Great choice for one of romantic celebrations or long social dinners. Wish service was a little bit more attentive, couldn't see any staff member for about 20 minutes after finishing my main course. Will come again and recommend to everyone.

We went in for brunch yesterday with friends, there was 5 of us. Place was quiet, 2 maybe 3 other tables in. We've ordered eggs benedict, eggs florentine , two ceasar salads and one full irish. We had a coffee first but once we ordered meal, we've been waiting 35 minutes before we finally asked waitress about our food. We were told that it ill take two more minutes, and after 5 minutes we finally got it (40 minutes wait...). The eggs in both florentine and benedict were overcooked (hard boiled) while they should have been running. We weren't happy but we were not prepared to send it back for another 40 minutes wait. We were also starving so we ate what we were given. No waiting staff nor manager came to check up on us. I was hoping to mention overcooked eggs but was not given opportunity.

Kudos Restaurant (IFSC)
Clarion Hotel Dublin, IFSC, City Centre North, Dublin
Went first time for dinner. Food was lovely. It took a while to get it to the table, but we didn't mind to wait for well made, quality dishes. Wish the service was a better. Waitress seemed to have no personality at all. No smile which really didn't leave us with good first impression. There was 4 or 5 different staff members at our table thorough out dinner. No "enjoy your meal". After ordering waitress practically walked away without a word. After we receive our main courses no one bothered to check on us, whether we need more drink or are we happy with the meal. No fresh pepper was offered either. We paid bill with cash and never received a change. We were going to leave it as a tip anyway, but we would still like it to be our choice... When we were living there was no staff visible on the floor at all, no one to say "thank you" or even "good night".
1-5 Exchequer Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Very disappointing restaurant. Looks great, very comfortable, beautiful and clean bathroom. And that's pretty much it. Waiter wears jeans and t-shirt, which is a real style/mood killer, food is average (at best). Risotto I had was dry and tasteless. In all fairness, fillet steak was fab, very tender and full of flavors, well seasoned, bit that made the rest of the experience even worse. Also price tag is a bit too high for what you're getting. Would love to come back, but for the time being it's not good enough for elegant dinner, and too dear for casual meal...
The Church Cafe Bar & Restaurant
Junction of Mary St. & Jervis St., Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
I went there for lunch on Sunday. Had fish and chips with tartar sauce, which was lovely. Unfortunately my partner's order arrived without ordered side dish. We asked waiter about it, he brought not only incorrect one (regular french fries instead of "church chips") , but also way after we finished our meals. Also, it was taking AGES to take staff attention (were sitting with menus for about 10 minutes before someone came over to take order, about 15 minutes trying to get attention to ask for bill, eventually I decided to go over to our waiter myself...) FOr this sort of service, definitely overpriced.

Fantastic place for a quick bite while around temple bar/Jervis street. Very nice, simple fodd, friendly staff and nice service. Few seats outside for that few sunny days :)
The Porterhouse (North )
Cross Guns Bridge, Glasnevin, Dublin
Lovely place for lunch, or good night out. Nice food, very reasonable price, good service. Lovely atmosphere.
The Boxty House
20-21 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Very nice food, menu very different from other places in Temple Bar. THey also have early bird menu. Didn't really like the idea of seating people at the table with others, especially when looking for table for 2. Limited choice of beers. Service charge automatically added to the bill, really bad idea in this sort of place, feel like awarding waiter for just average service. I guess they are trying to save on staff by passing expense on guests...
Good World Chinese Restaurant
18 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
nice place, good food, bit greasy, relatively good prices. friendly staff. not impressed with paper table cloths, makes your table look much more messy then it is (with all the greasy crumbs leaving stains...). Good place for lunch when shopping around grafton street.
23 Upper Pembroke Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Lovely place, nice decor, absolutely fantastic food, beef was so tender, there was no need for steak knife (in fact, they don't have any!). Not cheap, but worth the price. The only thing missing in this price level restaurant, was little more professional service (it was very good and friendly, but I would expect bit less casual guest/waiter relations). Great place for special occasions.

Nutmeg Organic Restaurant
14 A French Church Street, Cork City, Cork
Food was unseasoned, poor in flavor, for both starters and main courses. Chewy and sandy scallops. Waitress couldn't open bottle of wine for us, the same for next table. Dessert was reheated in microwave. Very poor decoration, white walls. Music played from iPod in the kitchen. Tables for two placed very closed to each other, very uncomfortable if you would like to have private conversation. We were waiting for more than 15 minutes for our desert plates to be cleared.
