I had read the review on Balzacs and was interested to try. The room as others have described is very impressive. Even though it's big you can still have an intimate dinner for 2 and people watch. I was disappointed in the food though. Oysters to start were good, but not great. I had scallops for main and was disappointed, the combination with orange didn't work. The bill for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 aperitifs, 1 bottle of wine & a cheese board was €168 which is not good enough value.

Manifesto
208 Lower Rathmines Road, Dublin 6, Rathmines, Dublin

Don't use their online booking ! I booked online from their website, got a confirmation email and when I showed up with 3 friends the booking hadn't made it into the calendar. They handled it really badly, I could show them the email on phone. Disastrous customer service, they made no effort to apologise or accomodate us.

Town Bar and Grill
21 Kildare Street, City Centre South, Dublin

I went here for a work dinner mid week. The menu has Italian influence but has local produce too. I thought the wine list jumped in price range too quickly. Oysters to start were delicious, I had steak for main it was well cooked. Overall I wouldn't spend my own €s here, it was over priced. Plus the atmosphere was very businessy, pin striped suits a plenty. Maybe it changes at the weekend....
