I have been here three times in the last year and what I find remarkable is how the food is consistently great and how the service is also very good. For me consistency is the sign of a good restaurant.

Smokin Bones
34 Dame St, Dame Street, Dublin

A piece of America in Dublin! The food was delicious and the menu was vast. The pulled pork nachos were a great start and the mac and cheese was a very nice compliment. I wasn\'t crazy about the slaw but that is about personal preference. The one thing I wasn\'t overly thrilled with was the price of a small bottle of beer is €6. That was the only thing I thought was poor value because otherwise my friend and I rolled out of the restaurant because we were so happily stuffed!

Dobbins Restaurant
15 Stephen Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This place is always so delicious. The staff are very professional, the food is amazing, I always feel pampered and I always walk away feeling very satisfied on all counts. Dobbins is somewhere everyone should try at one time or another.

Soulful Bistro
46 Manor Street, North Dublin , Stoneybatter, Dublin

Why is this place not booked out!!! It is a lovely place and is about a 5- 10 min walk from Smithfield. The restaurant has lovely little sayings pained on the walls. I thought the staff were attentive, professional but personable. We had the three course meal which was sooooooo good!! This is a gem of a restaurant which may be a bit out of the way since it is not in Smithfeld or the city centre but do get to it.

Chameleon Restaurant
1 Lower Fownes Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

For a lovely treat and something different this is the place to go. It is a series of small dishes so everyone can get a taste of everything. The flavors are wonderful. The seating is a bit tight at places. It is nice to not be basically sitting on top of the table next to you.

Against the Grain
11 Wexford St, City Centre South, Dublin

How can you go wrong - good food and yummy craft beers! I have found the staff quite lovely and the food has always been consistent (I have been going for a couple of years now). It's a nice place to go after work for a bite to eat and a drink. If it is really busy, which can happen, it can be a bit difficult to find a seat but it is worth getting there for a casual night with friends.

Boteco Brazil

The food was so good - a real treat. I loved how the restaurant was designed. There is a lovely, huge wooden bar in the upper/back section and the old brick walls a very much on display. The night we were in they were preparing for a techno event in the basement. I felt bad for anyone who was going to be there during that since we got a brief taste of the very loud music at one point. Also, the staff were setting up the red ropes, etc so people could queue in the lower/front section of the restaurant so that would not be much fun for the diners there. This brings me to my big BUT about this restaurant. The staff were clearly very proud of how much they had done in the last 6 months in getting the venue to the lovely state it currently is in but it felt like the restaurant was having an identity crisis. Is it a club or is it a restaurant? Plus they are opening a cafe next door which prevented us from having desert at the end of the meal due to none being left. Our waitress was a gem! Hint to the management hold on to her. There were lots of people running around but it was unclear what they were doing. There was only one waitress who was clearly over worked and running behind - not her fault since there was no help forthcoming. This resulted in our food being cold and this was not her fault. I get the impression the owners have great ideas but really haven't a notion on how to run a restaurant well. I felt like saying to them - walk before you run. They need to make sure they have enough wait staff and food runners on to meet the needs of the customers (I have spent years in this industry) because they write reviews, tell others and come back. Hope they figure it out because this place has great potential and the food is great.

Buenos Aires Grill
Unit 2 Castle Way, Golden Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We had starters plus the BBQ platter. The wings are lovely and what is great is how they are all drum sticks. No fighting over them. The fish and the ribs in the platter were soooooo good. Lovely seasoning. Since ribs don't have a lot of meat we would have preferred more ribs and skip the sausage. Still we left with no room left for dessert.

La Maison
15 Castle Market Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

What a great place for a meal. We decided to have four starters between two of us which was more than enough food. We were so glad the waiter helped us with the selection otherwise we would have ordered too much. We had the house white which was nice and we really enjoyed the dessert wines (no room left for dessert!). What said it all was how busy they were on a Tuesday night so do make a booking in advance to avoid disappointment. There is even outdoor seating when the weather permits.

Caffe Italiano
7 Crow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Why is this place not swinging from the rafters with business?? My friend and I went and decided we found our new favorite place. The cheese board was plenty for two and really good - one of the best I can recall in a long time. The rib eye and the chicken dish - yum! We really enjoyed the wine and the service was fab!!! I was just in Italy and the staff here could give the folks in Sorrento a lesson or two on service. I will be going back to this lovely quirky place again.

El Bahia Moroccan Restaurant
37 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We had a great night here. It is a smaller restaurant that can be easily missed because it is upstairs above another business. Our waitress was so helpful and really attentive. We had the chicken Bastilla which was just amazing. I will be going back for this alone. The Tangier Cous Cous was nice but the first dish was really good.

Harrys Kitchen Restaurant
22, Dawson Street, Dublin

The food was very good although I would have been really nice to have some vegetables with the rib eye steak and chips. My two main complaints are about what they advertise versus what you get. The menu that is on line was not the menu that was there on the night. There are some foods that I can't eat (and some I quite simply don't like such as fish) so I always check menus in advance. When I mentioned this to our waiter, who was just fabulous, his comment was how the menu now changes almost weekly. I am a bit baffled as to why they post a menu, that looked really good, that isn't being used. The other difficulty I had was I ordered a dessert that did not have ice cream because i am allergic to ice cream. Of course when the dessert arrived what did it come with - ice cream. Again, I find it really strange that a product is advertised but that is not what I received. This is not a restaurant that considers the needs of the clientele who have 'food restrictions' and these issues are very common as I know from my own group of friends. I feel bad in writing this review because this is a lovely little restaurant with good food and great service (I marked them down on this category due to what happened on the night) but I cannot ignore those two situations that I encountered.

Not even a power outage on Dame St could spoil the evening. The food was yum and the service wa great. We will be going back!

Smyth & Gray's Restaurant
1A Crow Street, Temple Bar, Dublin

This is a classy, well run and lovely restaurant. My friend and I really enjoyed Our three course meal and a very nice bottle of wine. The hostess was a delight and kept the floor running smoothly. Our waiter, made sure the evening was great. Don't wait for a special occasion to eat here because this restaurant deserves to be here for a long time.

Dada Restaurant
45 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I booked this deal on a whim because I thought it would be nice to go some where really different. What a lovely experience. The staff were so nice and helpful and there were plenty of staff in that night (I have noticed recently in some restaurants there do not seem to be enough waitstaff working). The food was soooo good and there was so much of it. We made the mistake of having 2 starters - the dips and pate (it wasn't at all like pate). Both were really tasty. My only complaint was we didn't get enough pita bread and had to ask for more. Next we had two chicken dishes for the main with French beans and potatoes on the side. The portions were huge and we had too much food (I can't remember saying that in a long time). Next time we will skip the starters and maybe, if we feel like it, only have one side dish. The mint tea was a great way to end the meal. I never knew this place existed but my friend and I are already talking about when will we go back for the early bird, etc.

TGI Friday (St Stephens Green )
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We went for a birthday party and had a great night that was started with lovely cocktails and followed by good food! We found the service spot on and in so many places these days the service is terrible.
