Indian Ocean Dublin restaurant
15 Montague Street, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 2
Reviewed 12th July 2007 ( visited 12th July 2007 )Came here for Lunch for €9.99 and had the Prawn Pakora to start & the Chicken Pathia for main and both were fabulous. The staff are so friendly with very prompt service. Great decor and very quiet, very upmarket surroundings for such great prices. Will come here again as I enjoyed it so much. It's a wee gem of a place!!!
TGI Friday (St Stephens Green ) restaurant
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 2
Reviewed 31st May 2007 ( visited 31st May 2007 )Food is ok and but very, very overpriced for what you get. Great atmosphere though and decor. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I usually get the Chicken Wings from the starter menu which are excellent!! I guess the location of the restaurant is what pushes the price of the dishes up as TGI are probably paying high property rental fees!!!
Yamamori Sushi, Tengu
38-39 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
My friend and I went here on Saturday for her birthday lunch and the food was delicious! Between us we had Tuna Norimaki, Spicy Tuna Norimaki, Miso Soup, Plate of Noodles and Haddock Tempura, everything was accompanied with rice, dipping sauces and vegetables. Everything was soooo gooood. The service was excellent, very friendly staff who brought us green tea on arrival. Beautiful decor and very spacious. Will definitely be going back again!!
Le Bon Crubeen
81-82 Talbot Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
Went to Le Bon Crubeen Saturday night (4th Oct) and had the Grilled Chicken and Couscous Salad , my friend had the Smoked Haddock Chowder. Both were excellent & very well presented. It's a very stylish place without being pretentious, quite relaxing & comfortable. The staff were top notch and the hostess was really on the ball...will definitely be going back..it's really nice to see such a great place on Talbot Street!
Fallon and Byrne
11-17 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
We had our work Xmas dinner here last Thursday (6th)evening. There were over 20 of us and we were jammed in like sardines with half of us sitting with our backs to the wall and if one person had to get out to use the bathroom 6 people had to stand up to let them out. Quite a few of us had the Caesar Salad to start and while the salad was nice it was served in too small a bowl, so that everytime you tried to spear a piece of lettuce etc with your fork some of the salad popped out onto the table. Most people at the table had the Fillet of Beef, which was fabulous, there were no complaints from anyone about it, a saving grace. The dessert that most of us had was the Chocolate & Banana Bakewell Tart with Coconut Icecream & Passionfruit sauce. It was just ok, there were too many flavours going on. We had all been expecting to get the Knickerbockerglory for dessert which had been on the original menu we were sent when booking it but there was a slightly different menu for dessert when we got there. Overall it was a good evening and the staff were pleasant and attentive. I would go back but not in a group as it would probably be more of a better experience with just a couple of people.
Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Had Dinner here last night with my sister. I had the Fillet Steak with Sauteed Mushrooms & Onions, Tomato and Potato Au Gratin and I can only say it was truly fantastic. The steak was cooked to perfection. My sister had the Lamb which came with a salad and said the lamb was good but went cold quickly as it was served on 2 skewers hanging up and the salad consisted of nothing more than lettuce leaves with a dressing on it. I was able to use my €25 voucher from Menupages that I had redeemed with my points which was great. Well worth a visit, will be going back for more steak. Staff were friendly, but did not ask us how the meal was during it and did not ask if we wanted anything else. They were busy and it is a bit cramped but the food is good. Prices were reasonable for Temple Bar area.
Zaytoon (Lower Camden Street)
44-55 Lower Camden Street, Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin
While the food is just as good and tasty as their sister on Parliament Street, I don't find the atmosphere to be as friendly or warming! The staff are nice enough but they don't seem to gel together the way the staff on Parliament St. do. I always feel like I just want to eat and run, instead of relax and enjoy!!
Zaytoon (Parliament Street)
14/15 Parliament Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Have eaten here several times and am never disappointed with the food or service. I usually get the Chicken Shish Kebab or the Spiced Beef and both are delicious!! Their meal deals are very reasonable and leave you very full! Staff are second to none, always pleasant and relaxed.
O'Connell Bridge, Burgh Quay, City Centre South, Dublin
Nice place to come for a drink and their finger food is really good to order. Really like all the different levels and seating arrangements. Gets really busy though! Staff are great!!
Foleys Bar - Queen Maebhs Restaurant
1 Merrion Row, City Centre South, Dublin
Ate here a few weeks ago with my sister at lunchtime. The service was very good and the staff friendly. I ordered the Lunch Special, which was Roast Beef of the day. The dish was huge!!! The portion of beef was enough to feed 2 people, accompanying it was roast potato, mashed potato, Yorkshire pudding, carrots & cauliflower. I could only eat maybe half of it, but it was mouth wateringly fabulous!! My sister had the fish, which was more in proportion in size, which she also really enjoyed! Will be going back again!!
61 Upper O'Connell Street, City Centre North, Dublin
I used to come here years ago when the food was pretty good! At the time there weren't as many restaurants to choose from in the City Centre. It's gone downhill as far as the decor goes but the food was ok. Went to see how it was faring up with all the competition but I thinks it only survives because of its location for tourist business. Most Dubliners will stay away!
The Cat & Cage - Closed
74 Drumcondra Road Upper, Drumcondra, Dublin
This place is my nearest local. It not bad for having a few drinks in. Pretty standard pub fare for food. Nice staff though.
110 Drumcondra Road Upper, North Dublin, Drumcondra, Dublin
I get take-out from this restaurant and always love it! Their Breast of Chicken Curry and Crispy Chicken in Hot Honey Sauce are 2 of my favourites. Also their portion of Garlic Mushrooms comes with a dipping sauce and is gorgeous! The staff are always very pleasant and their take-out prices are very reasonable!!
112 Upper Drumcondra Road, North Dublin, Drumcondra, Dublin
I live around the corner from this place and I love it!! I have eaten inside and also had takeout and the food is always top notch, staff are very friendly and attentive. The restaurant a little bit cramped for space but nice welcoming atmosphere.
Hard Rock Cafe
12 Fleet Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Came here with 2 others and found it is a very much over hyped place with really inflated prices for very average food!! I had the Chicken Wings and the Cobb Salad the others had burgers and we all thought everything was so bland with no zest!! Service was just ok. Won't go again unless it's for free!!
Mao Restaurant (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin
Went in here Sat. 17th Jan. just to get a drink with a friend of mine as we were going to see a play next door at the Mill Theatre for 5pm. The only reason we came in is that none of the other places beside the theatre were opened at that time to serve anything. Because it was close to 5pm (20 mins) we went into Cafe Mao. I told the hostess near the door that we only wanted to get a drink as we were going to see the play and asked would that be a problem. She was very friendly and said no that would be ok, so she brought us to a table and explained to the chap behind the bar that we were only ordering a drink not food. One of the waitresses came over to us and we said we only wanted a drink yet again and she informed us that we don't serve drinks only. I said that we told this to the hostess when we came in and she said it would be fine. She made a face and went off to confirm this with the hostess. My friend and I just looked at each other and both said how unprofessional and unpleasant of her to try and make us feel unwelcome in that way when we clearly stated our purpose for coming in. She very ungraciously got us our two drinks. We were there for all of five minutes and we both will never go back there because of her lousy attitude. What a shame she presented such an image in her place of work! The only saving grace for the whole place was the pleasant hostess who greeted us, what a pity she wasn't serving. We also found the place a very tight squeeze and lacking in atmosphere, felt more like a fast food place than a proper restaurant.
Bad Ass Cafe
Crown Alley, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
I have been here a couple of times and both times had their Pizza which is delicious. My friend had the Bad Ass Classic Caesar Salad and seemed to enjoy it. It's got a cool atmosphere and the staff are friendly, and it's reasonably priced for being in Temple Bar. Will come again for more Pizza!!
Indian Ocean Dublin
15 Montague Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Came here for Lunch for €9.99 and had the Prawn Pakora to start & the Chicken Pathia for main and both were fabulous. The staff are so friendly with very prompt service. La Mere Zou
22 St Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin
Place is wonderful!! Went a couple of weeks ago on a Sat and they had a jazz band playing, really great! Food is excellent and well priced, had the Steak for Main and the Lemon Tart for dessert. Lovely atmosphere and staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Will be back. By the way, saw Little Britain Stars David Walliams & Matt Lucas coming out of here after lunch last September at the time of their shows at the point. They seemed happy.
Shanahan’s on the Green
119 St. Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin
Went here a while ago and it was excellent! Would highly recommend the experience to everyone!! I had the Spinach Salad with a Warm Bacon and Onion Dressing to start and the Filet Mignon for the main and both were to die for!! Had no room for dessert although others did and said they were fab. Everything was presented so professionally and the staff are top notch with a very welcoming atmosphere and ambience!! Will be coming back!
Drumcondra, Drumcondra, Dublin
Live locally near Fagan's. Great pub and atmosphere. Food is really fab with a good menu. Service is a little bit slow though. Always go back though!!!
O'Connell's Bar & Restaurant
30 Bachelors Walk (Beside O'Connell Bridge), City Centre North, Dublin
Panama is a really nice pub/bar place to go. The staff are really friendly, prompt and very courteous. The food is really good and the atmosphere and decor is very nice too. I go here quite a lot and always come back mainly because of the staff and good seating arrangement.
Little Caesars (Harcourt Street)
The Harcourt Hotel, 59 Harcourt Street, City Centre South, Dublin
I usually go here for lunch, which is extremely busy, but the staff are very efficient and friendly and promptly seat you. The food is excellent; I have had several of the dishes on the lunch menu and not been disappointed once. It is excellent value for money and I will keep going back.
The Kingfisher Restaurant, Guesthouse & Apartments
166 Parnell Street, City Centre North, Dublin
"I used to come to this restaurant as a child and obviously it has changed greatly over the last 20 years with all the additions built on. I think the takeout part of it is still great but if you eat in the restaurant the food is a rip-off. Its way overpriced and I have been disappointed in what I was served the last two visits I have been. I had the Smoked Cod with Chips both times and the portions were not very big and the batter on the fish was overcooked so much so that I ended up leaving most of it. The chips were good. The tables and chairs are too close together, I know they have done this obviously to fit more people in, but it feels like you are rushed through your meal as if you are on a conveyor belt with the staff always in too much of a hurry, who once they take your order barely come near you for you to ask for anything else. You would think for the price of everything they would treat the customers with a bit more dignity and respect than they do. I don't think I will be eating in there again. One very disappointed Dubliner with a landmark of Dublin..
7 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
Came here with 2 others and the food was really good but the place was very squashed, there was absolutely no room between us and the people next to us. It was also very hot. The service was really slow and we had to keep asking and reminding them about our order. The prices are fine but the service just really lets them down, they need to employ more staff who are also friendlier!!
TGI Friday (St Stephens Green )
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Food is ok and but very, very overpriced for what you get. Great atmosphere though and decor. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I usually get the Chicken Wings from the starter menu which are excellent!! I guess the location of the restaurant is what pushes the price of the dishes up as TGI are probably paying high property rental fees!!!
17 Dame Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Food is gorgeous and reasonably priced with just the right amount of portions per dish. Very nice atmosphere and decor. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again!!!!
Wagamama - Stephen's Green
St Stephen's Green Centre, South King St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Wagamama's is a fantastic place to go!! Anything on the menu is truly amazing. Everything is prepared from scratch and is really fresh. The prices are very reasonable and portions are good. The staff are top notch and very helpful even when busy, which is all the time!! Even though you have to wait for a table most times it is so well worth it. It's a very vibrant atmosphere!! Can't wait to go again!!
Eddie Rockets (Parnell Centre)
Parnell Centre, City Centre North, Dublin
Eddie Rockets do have some of the best burgers around Dublin. They are tasty and cooked properly no matter which one you choose of the menu! Staff are extremely friendly and always come over during the meal to ask how everything is. The only complaint is that the portion size is on the small side for the price that you pay and some of the items on the menu such the Nachos are disappointing as they are not made with fresh beef etc and are very overpriced. But overall, for some food before the cinema it rates highly and I do always go back and usually order what I know is good.
