Gotham Cafe

My spouse and myself dropped in after a show. Very friendly service. Consistently good food. Nice buzz in a cool part of town. I always enjoy it here.

Girl & the Goose
1st Floor, 10 Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Visited with my wife. Nice decor and atmosphere. Very friendly genuine service which, to my mind, is half the restaurant. The complimentary amuse bouche and starters were great and my wife's monk fish was fine, but my steak was just ok - a little stringy. Reasonable value (good with voucher). Will probably visit again. (My wife wants to).

Trocadero
St Andrew Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Visited with my wife. Atmosphere and decor very nice. Good buzz. Great friendly professional service. But my wife and I had all seafood dishes and none were up to snuff. E.g.,the Monkfish was rubbery and tasteless. I suggest you try the steak or their listed specialities instead.

Tavern
Dylan Hotel, Eastmoreland Place, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

A quiet but busy atmosphere with a large hipster-type crowd gathered in the public bar. An interesting-looking hotel in an upscale neighbourhood. Great food - we had the cod and the steak. Service was 100% - very friendly. Value was 100% - we were on a voucher. There are a few nice bars in walking distance (e.g Searsons) for an after dinner drink. I would recommend - I plan to visit again to try their a la carte which looks interesting. Rgds Seán

The Lobster Pot
9 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Visited Sep-09 with a colleague. Was very disappointed that there was a very foul smell of my fish. I was disappointed even more by the attitude of the waiter who claimed the fish was fresh but that ' it may be the sauce'. The room is nice and I was hoping to find a good seafood place in Dublin but I won't be going here again.
